Man that was the most specific on point guided repair I've ever watched with the camera and location of screws or mechanisms, and the all around feel, man you guys ROCK!! Perfect and very well done video. Only caveat, the nuts holding the straps up on my 08 were 15mm. It seems some are 15mm and some are 16mm.
Great video, very helpful untill I got to the front strap bracket. The strap itself is good, but it pulled out of the rusted bracket on the frame. Everything I found just tell me to weld a piece of metal back onto it. I was wondering if they sell the original bracket? Or would I be better off frabracating new ones? Seems like there is no drain in either the front or rear brackets. And yes I'm in the salt belt of NJ. 2011 ram quad 1500 2wd 5.7
2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab, 5.9L Cummins Diesel. Would love to see anything with the Diesel Motor. IE replacing glow plugs, injectors, learning what the codes mean on an OBD reader, or anything you might think would be helpful to the non mechanic DIY person. I already had to take my Dash out to fix the plenum doors for the A/C, heat. What a nightmare that was. I am not a mechanic so it took me longer to figure out all the unknowns that an experienced mechanic would know. Love your videos. Great Job. Peace, Reese

Where can I find the red clip that was broken in the video?
Thank you for taking the time to make this vid. VERY nicely done. The metal flapper/tab that covers the filler hole by my gas cap came loose and (presumably) got washed into the tank when refueling. Since then, whenever I refuel, I have to do so VERY slowly, else gas will gush back out of the filler hole. Could this issue be caused by the tab being washed into the tank? I removed the filler hose at the tank end and the tab is nowhere to be found. Do I need to remove the tank and get the flapper/tab out of the tank -or can I assume that the tab will simply sink to the bottom of the tank? I also assume that the tab could not get sucked up by the fuel pump because it's too big and the pump has a screen on it. Any direction is most appreciated.
+skkfor If it's not stuck the the filler neck there might be something else causing the issue. Usually this happens when the filler neck develops a kink or a bend in it that obstructs the fuel flow. 1aauto.com?UA-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony

+Shane Rice Thanks for watching! One way to drain on that model is to drain at the fuel rail connection. You disconnect the line and activate the fuel pump. You just need a container to catch all the fuel. The other way is to drain through the fuel fill fitting at the tank, but we do not have a video on this process. 1aauto.com

Do you guys have a fix for the 2009 RAM? I noticed the attachment points on the frame for the straps on this truck are open. On the 2009 they are closed. Mine has rusted clear through and allowed the straps to pull through the frame. Dropping the front of the tank. It's being held up by a ratchet strap temporarily.

Would a 26 gallon fuel tank work in my 04 tank which is 34 gallons? I'm having a huge problem finding a 34 gallon tank to replace in my 04 dodge ram 1500. I found a 96 fuel tank that's the same length as my 04, but I'm concerned it's second gen vs third gen and may not work.

Hello, do you guys know if there is a replacement part for the vent pice at 8:27 that the vent line is connected to? I broke mine and need to replace it. Do I need a whole new tank?

Mine was also broken. I grabbed a piece of rubber clear tube about 2 inches long and cleaned the area with alcohol and tissue. I then used super glue sticks in 15 second and cures in 15 minutes. I then attached the broken nipple to the end of the clear tube; also with crazy glue. The end result was better than expected. no more gas cap warning and no more p0455 P0456 P0457. Hope it helps.

Too many steps! I literally just unscrew the fuel filler neck, and hoses, disconnect the pump, fuel, and rollover valve line, remove strap nuts, and drop.

i wish the job i did was as glorified as this one, the truck i worked on was covered in mold and dirt and god knows what else on top of the fuel tank. easy job but it was messy
Not for 02 Dodge ram. Too many fittings are different. They are much more complicated. Not trolling just fyi
I have no idea why you would waste all that time to bleed off fuel pressure there when as you drop the tank you could release it at the pump 😡
