Scotty Kilmer Hey how are you I have ford explore 1998 lot miles on but when I starts sound like want turn off by self and when I m drive turn off by self
Scotty Kilmer I have a 97 camry think I have 2 problems 1 my efi fuse keeps blowing it's a 15 amp fuse how do I find out the prob with that..... also my odometer is digital and my miles is blank and radio won't turn on along with turn single please email me zacharybrianblizzard@gmail.com
hey scotty my name is Anita i have a 94 lincoln town car and it want start. i replace my fuel pump, filter, and my fuel pressure regulator. i'm not getting the car to start is turns over but that it
I am mechanic from, the Philippines, I study my computer equipped engine, the basic electrical and electronic function of sensors,I don't have an scanner, but because of this channel, it's really helps me a lot.God bless sir.Scotty.
I think the reason why Scotty Kilmer is so smart and upbeat is that he does his work OUTSIDE and not under blue light. Getting some sun is a GOOD IDEA!!!
Just because it's a Toyota dont mean it wont have problems. Picked up someone on the side of the road. Transmission went in his Corolla with 130k. I drive a cvt Altima with 183k. Go figure...
I love that little smile he does just after yelling ‘rev up your engines’. It’s so wholesome and he loves what he does. Nothing but good luck and good fortune to this man.
Great video. Scotty always has good stuff, and fun to watch too! He did forget to mention one of the oldest test in the book. The pop bottle test. Works good if you don’t have a fuel pressure gauge or access to the Schrader valve. Disconnect power to coils/spark plugs. Disconnect fuel line, use a piece of hose to direct it into a pop bottle. Crank it over for a few seconds. Should get about 4-8 oz of fuel. Works best on older mechanical style fuel pumps, but can give you an idea on electronic fuel pumps.
My father taught me to retorque the head bolts on my cars every 75,000 miles. No one seems to mention this, why? I have never experienced a head gasket failure. 91 sidekick 184000,2006 4.7 dodge ram 155000,2010 kia 2.0 110000. You are the best.!
Thanks, but I’ll stick to my ‘01 Toyota Camry LE with 311,420 miles that runs like a Swiss clock, with original engine and automatic transmission and everything works!! Blows cold AC when I need it and heat when I need it. I repainted it, and tinted the windows and looks brand new. Inside is in excellent condition, has power everything including a manufacture sunroof!! I Do most of the maintenance myself and the complex stuff I take to a trusted mechanic. I’ve had it for the past 12 years and plan on keeping it another 12.
I still consider buying early 80s cars. Firstly they're reliable, secondly they're pretty easy to find, a lot of people who bought them brand new and kept maintaining them are getting too old to drive so they decide to sell them. That's how I ended up with a Yugo....yes, a Yugo, and I had no problems with it for 4 years. Did I mention it's a Yugo?
Got a 2003 with 173,000 miles everything mechanical is still working. All I have done is replaced a starter, rear passenger brake caliper, did the work myself and I’ve owned this bad boy for 5yrs now.
Seems like half the time older models like the 60's all the way up to 80's and early 90's of vehicles are reliable, cheap, and more simple. Now you have these complicated monsters.
I still have my 1996 Toyota Corolla which can develope issues that are not that difficult to get to to fix however it runs my main vehicle is a 2004 isuzu ascender which I'll admit I see the check engine on a bit more frequent
Imagine if Scotty became a car designer, I'd love to see his ideas on how they should be designed by a master mechanic who can sort through all the insane design flaws that are all too common! It would be Amazing!
GREAT info delivery with humour and no nonsense. I'm so grateful he has provided so much help and advice for every day people to get the job done properly! Many thanks Scott. Please keep the burnouts going!
More of a problem these days with all the detergents and junk that gets put in fuel. Once that stuff has accumulated anything in the tank the pump will suck that up and get ruined if you drive with low fuel
Many times a defective in-tank fuel pump can be replaced without removing it, by adding an external fuel pump. They are cheap and easy to install. If it can suck fuel through the dead pump, it will work.
A $250 fix. The 2010 Hyundai Sonata running good again. Wish I knew more about car mechanics. Thank you Scotty Kilmer. My 2002 Dodge Neon Sxt is still running good.
You are my goto guy, I had hard starting with 3.4l chevy and by your vids I came up with replacing the MAP sensor for $85 because simptoms matched the best. But still had to hold pedal down an inch to get started hot or cold with rich gas fumes/smoke when it finally started out the exaust pipe. So botom line it wasnt the problem, however evey othe car guy had a vid on the Fuel Pressure Regulator that matched my problem exact as when you removed the vacuum line to the Fuel Pressure Regulator gas would sputter out where the vacuume line was, mine sputterd the gas too, problem solved for the additional cost of $52 for the new Fuel Pressure Regulator. Please do a vid on this problem. Thank you for your videos, keep up the good work.
Party on Scotty! Your videos are so informative and to the point. Got my fuel pump issues figured out with your instructions - Turned out to be a bad fuel pump. I was able to replace it by removing the back seat and the FP access panel, unlike the Jaguar “(
You are hilarious and you remind me of my Mechanic. Guys like you generate so much an interest in me to know all can know about cars, because it is a wonderful mind tool to have, and you guys make it look rather simple compared to what the dealer tries to scam all of us for........$961 for a Valve Cover Gasket replacement.......HA yeah right...goodluck Nissan.

Great job on the video Appreciate the info
The Volkswagen Touareg v10 Diesel is even worse. In order to replace the alternator you have to fully drop the front subframe. Yep, the motor, transmission, and subframe have to be removed to replace it. That touareg is not a car you want to own outside of warranty
Scotty klimer !!! I have changed power steering rack of toyota gli .. bt still when i turn steeing rapidly back and forth it produce some sort of clunk
If the tank is under the back seat make a access hole to remove the pump .on my grandam .i made a access and used a grand prix fuel pump no more gas tank remover
+PuppetMaster Lol you have it made my man! For one, your water pump was due for replacement anyway (at 90k miles actually). And if it was previously replaced, I'd be willing to bet it wasn't replaced with an OEM pump. Second, it sounds like either you need to grease your hood a little bit. Did you have an accident? Many times an accident will warp the metal around the hood and trunk, making it difficult to open or close (even tiny fender benders). All the Celica owners I've known don't have issues with their trunk (including my mom and aunt back in the 90s). I've had to work on many of my family member's cars, and no surprise Toyota is definetely superior in the eyes of many based on first hand experience. And don't assume that the number of recalls is a clear indication of bad quality. American car brands don't issue recalls for many of their vehicles because they have to pay to fix it. Taking responsibility is better than laughing all the way to the bank as your customer is having their fairly brand new car in the shop getting fixed at their own expense.
My 03 Galant 2.4L makes the same noise cranking most of the time.. It cranks probably every 4-8 hrs I've come to the conclusion that it is the fuel pump after this video.. Thank you sir
Hey Scotty I have a 2001 chrysler sebring That starts but doesnt stay on theonly way it stays alive is if i keep pressing the gas as soon as let go of the gas pedal my engine stops running could this be my fuel pump ? checked vacuum and no leaks so i replaced the alternator and the spark plugs but still nothing lol is there anything else i can try ?
I just had my fuel pump replaced in my VX 3.8L V6 holden commodore...2000 model, series 1 with nearly 273 000km. Can't complain with that, good ole aussie car
Hi there sir, My 2008 350z is causing transmission to stall and cut out at 3K-4K RPM. Does this mean I need to replace my fuel pump or do I have a bad transmission? My 350z only has 83K miles.
+Ryan Toomey Thats because the motor in the fuel pump uses the fuel as lubrication. When you are running on empty the motor has no lubrication and burns up.
believe it or not the gas keeps the pump cool they get hot and burn up if you run them low on gas people think I'm crazy when I tell them but that's how they are
Scotty I bought a used Audi one time. NEVER AGAIN will I buy a used luxury car. I thought I got a 'great deal' but now I see why used cars have such low resale values.
+Yewon2001 Your problem is not that you bought used, but that you bought a used Audi. Audis are hit and miss for reliability, it really depends on how well they are kept up. Evidently, you got a Miss. Not only that, Audis are ridiculously expensive to maintain. When buying used, always stick to GM or Toyota if you can.

I have learned everything I can on how to fix vehicles from this guy’s channel right here
THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION SCOTTY...
Customer: what’s wrong with it?
Scotty: It’s a Jaguar 😂
I had a jaguar once never again the car broke down almost everyday what a piece of crap it was although it was very stylish
Scotty i love you
My 03 Galant 2.4L makes the same noise cranking most of the time.. It cranks probably every 4-8 hrs I've come to the conclusion that it is the fuel pump after this video.. Thank you sir
i loved it when you said "but the idiots who designed the car" lmao . keep it up Scotty
this guy is savage 😂
Hey Scotty I have a 2001 chrysler sebring That starts but doesnt stay on theonly way it stays alive is if i keep pressing the gas as soon as let go of the gas pedal my engine stops running could this be my fuel pump ? checked vacuum and no leaks so i replaced the alternator and the spark plugs but still nothing lol is there anything else i can try ?
The Skinny Fat Vlogger how to get power to the feul pump
The Skinny Fat Vlogger alternator
Sounds like mass air flow or tpi sensor Ay??
I just had my fuel pump replaced in my VX 3.8L V6 holden commodore...2000 model, series 1 with nearly 273 000km.
Can't complain with that, good ole aussie car
haha Nice video ending, brother.
Lol, I am getting ready to change my fuel pump on my 95 Chevy.
Thank goodness I don't have a Jag
don't buy a Ford either, if you ask me!
As long as they aren't older Fords, then yes.
Don't ever buy a Chrysler either!
Don't buy anything other than a Honda or something with a Cummins in it.
+_ Skylake _ Those Cummins are known for having terrible transmissions and honda, you'll always get roasted.
Toyota for me.
Good thing no one asked you. Scott's new gt500 is bad ass
Hi there sir, My 2008 350z is causing transmission to stall and cut out at 3K-4K RPM. Does this mean I need to replace my fuel pump or do I have a bad transmission? My 350z only has 83K miles.
I know in some cars if you run out of gas the fuel pump goes out.
do you know if this happens in a let's just say for example purposes a 1996 Cadillac deville?
Josh Nixon
I agree. I'll never buy a European car again. Period.
“Idiots who design this car” love it .!👍🙋🏻♂️
I was complaining about my Ram and dropping the tank but this made me feel better!
Scotty, you kick A$$!!
jags are fucking nice cars, but very expensive to fix. people laugh at me when they see I own a 02 Holden TS astra. Still cheaper to repair than a jag
How about the opel astra h 1.6 2006? Is it a good car and cheap to fix?
no
Show Some Chicks on the Beach, not a Dolphin.
