Looks beautiful! When you started talking about a sign on your gate, I thought you should have your Dig Plant Repeat logo made into a sign and hang it. The fence is looking great!
I love hearing your intro music when you come on. It's a happy one, and when I hear it I know it is connected to you! Love going through your garden and the fence is definitely popping!
Your garden was glorious before, Janey. But that fence color is a game changer and makes all the plants and flowers pop even more. It is so blissful! Cannot wait to paint our fence now since we were thinking of doing the same thing. It has been super hot here in Texas too but now we are getting rain! Hope we can find a window to get our fence painted and some new evergreens planted in between the wonderful rain. I am not going to complaint about getting rain -- finally! !Wish my agapanthus looked as good as yours. Hubby wanted me to transplant our two from front to backyard and I'm not happy with it back there. Want to move it back to its happier home. Thanks so much for sharing all you do and excited for your new venture on the new property next year!
Your entire yard is just beautiful. Your aphid problem is my Japanese beetle battle, I ended up shearing all my roses back, twice hoping the beetles would be gone, nope, they were here at least twice as long, still finding 1-2.
Janey, your gardens are looking so lovely, and yes, the slate stain on the fence was a great choice! You are so right about making a change (even the small ones) in your outdoor living space; it gets the creative juices flowing and you can visualize more ideas to enhance the beauty of your outdoor spaces. I move plants around in my garden quite frequently too, if a plant isn't doing well in a location, I just move it. My sweet hubby used to refer to that as my garden dance, lol. We had an overnight low of 60⁰ F which felt so good, but our humidity was 80% which doesn't feel great. Have a wonderful week in your garden. ~Margie😊💐🦋
Had to post another comment because you and your garden inspire me more than others that I view since my garden is in a similar place in a neighborhood and we have a pool and deck that take up a lot of our backyard. I started making a list of so many ideas from your garden that have inspired me to not give up on making my garden sing like you have made yours sing. Just love it all, Janey! Thank you again so very much for sharing and giving me hope for my garden!
Rose of sharon gets big, you more than likely have to move that other plant or you won't be able to see it. The people across the street from me has one and it blooms pink roses and they won't cut it back and it's past the roof, and it just bugs theye fire out of me cause they are not taking care of it. I told her she was suppose to cut it back and she said no i want the shade for my bedroom. Oh well maybe her landlady will tell her to cut it back lol
That fence color goes so great with the bark - awesome! And yes, I'm soooo done with this heat! Forcast is 111 degrees on Monday in the Sacto area - ARG!! Oh, and for your seascape strawberries, just take the runners & root them to transplant to the other barrel! (lol, I keep editing this as the video progresses) When I had aphids on my epiphillum, I'd use a small paint brush to brush them off, but I've also used my handheld dyson vacuum to remove other bugs! You might try that if you don't want to spray.. just a thought!
You mentioned that you really like your pentas. I garden in the San Diego area. My pentas are perennials, I've had them for about 4 years. I think yours could come back. Everything is looking great. The birds will come to play in your fountain, but they do like some privacy. Maybe another fountain closer to the bird feeders. I've got several fountains and it's always such a delight to see them splashing around. I've got a fountain that bubbles on top and the hummingbirds come and drink and bathe from that one. Lovely garden that you are creating. Don't let the heat beat you down. You should pop your umbrella over by your Bobos during the hottest hot spells. ❤🐕🌻🦋🐞🍂
You could find a sign that says beware of the 🐰 I would love to see what something yellow would look by your beautiful fence. Your purples pop. Love your videos.
Thanks Briana! They are so annoying! You think you have it handled and then here more come!! Plus I have tons of ladybugs, they are just not keeping up! 😆
Good morning , Janey! It’s been in the 70’s for the last few days here in SC which is crazy! But we have also been having one million percent humidity so I guess it’s nothing to celebrate.😆 Well, I guess it could be in the upper 90’s with this humidity…so maybe yay? The fence keeps looking better and better!
Your hair is looking so beautiful and healthy, my garden is melting with the heat and 95% humidity 😫 it’s impossible to stay outside, I am in Japan by the way.
omgosh girl..u took off the monarch eggs off ur milkweed. the orange eggs r the butterfly eggs not a aphids. your garden is gorgeous. u r doing a great job. thanks so much for sharing
So Gorgeous! Great Job! And the fence makes it all just pop!🤩 On a side note, am I the only one who thinks you’re going to accidentally end up in the pool?🥰
The back garden is looking beautiful. I feel your pain about the change in sun conditions. Two of my neighbors have lost mature trees. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Great video as always!! I agree with you about looking forward to Fall, which is different for me than most years. Usually, I don't want summer to end, and am not in a hurry for the snow etc. But this year it has been SOOOO hot I am over it for sure!! I still am not ready for cold weather of course but I am looking forward to cooler weather most definitely!
I can't get over how beautiful your fence looks with the contrast of the green foliage of the plants!! 🌱You must be so pleased with it. Janey, you and Jason have done a great job. Such a wonderful idea. 😃Our fence is older now, so it has changed colour to the usual drab grey I have been trying to grow pretty vines and creepers on it, but what we should have done is stain it, as it isn't possible to cover every bit of fence. Does it take a lot of stain to cover a fence?
Good morning my friend. For all the plants that you bought for the shade garden, I would say it is better in the ground then in the pot. I feel that those plants will do well even if you were to plant them now in the coolish weather then they would be somewhat established to handle the heat. Aphids do prefer the heat, one thing you could do and it may sound funny is either plant brussell sprouts in a pot near plants that are riddled with them or another plant is something called blue squash which the squash is edible but aphids love both of these plants so they could play host plants for aphids and they will leave the others alone. This something gardeners will and that is called campinion planting. Anyways thank you for taking us along on this lovely tour and enjoy the rest of your day.
Hibiscus can grow way more than 4 ft x 4 ft. (how about 8 feet tall, and 5 feet wide, that about the size of mine, but it's just the traditional Hawaiian hibiscus) in a tropical climate. If get my hands on those pretties, they will be a tree after 3-5 years. But seeing them as a shrub is adorable, and is much better for a garden like that than a full on tree.
Absolutely beautiful love the black fence gorgeous!!! Your limelights look amazing, my Dad is planting a Limelight Prime and Quickfire Hydrangea tree for me today happy girl 😊
Check out liquid gypsum. I have been using it for several years now and it’s amazing how my soil has changed. I have crappy clay soil and this is slowly loosening it up. It does not happen overnight and you might not even see good results until it’s been five years. But it does work!
It looks sooo good!!!! I've been thinking of the same thing for awhile and seeing your before and after completely convinced me!! Will you also be painting the plant pergolas and tuteurs?? You have accomplished so much this year! Your December recap will be amazing!
Hi, Janey. You should definitely move the mandevilla to a full sun area. Mine is in full sun and it is thriving. It gets huge in one season, my only problem is keeping her alive through the winter, because we get to -18C. I just keep buying a new one every spring 🤷🏻♀️
excited to see the shade garden completed, where did you get your patio lights for the fence from? high five on the choosing for the garden walk May 2023, how cool!
I was way to quick to assume fall vibes cause yea this next week is going to be hot! 113 on our radar. The 90s were nice… 😂 I’m sure that pool will be nice! And the garden looks great as usual! Can’t wait to see how fall unfolds in your garden!
Just useCaptain Jack’s Dead Bug Brew! It’s by Bonide & is for organic gardening. It kills aphids, thrips, spider mites, bud worms( however not as well as BT) & other nasty bugs.
Prune those hydrangea blooms off, fertilize, water they will putout new blooms with your long growing season. Also always remove hydrangea blooms when planting, it can’t develop good roots and feed blooms until established. Great video😊
Janey, Check out Albion strawberries. They are a relatively new variety developed for our hot California summers. I have tried them and they are wonderful. Probably the best strawberries I’ve ever had.
Last year when my limelight's turned pinkish I cut and arranged (actually just poked them in a soup tureen ). They still look great. Most are white with some pink but a few are almost all pink. They are just beautiful. May toss it and make new arrangement I figure they are very dusty. Love your tours.
Back yard is Looking amazing! That fountain is stunning and I love the lemonade stand recipe so pretty. I wish we could buy these in australia it would be amazing. That slate grey I mean 🤩 Looks amazing with all the green popping, Paulette 💛🌼
Okay.... your fence looks Fabulous now!!! I have to paint 🎨 mine! Why I never thought of that ever, no idea. It is such a game changer though. What is the brand? 🤔, The color is slate? One more question!? It is paint not stain? Love, Love, Love It!! ❤️ 🤩🤩🤩😍 Thanks for the idea!😊
Janie. Did you paint or stain? I think it is stain and there could be confusion from your subscribers by saying painted. Stained our fences years ago and still look great. Great show. Thanks
Beware of the chives LOL. I planted them (beautiful) BUT they take off and grow everywhere. They’re were not easy to remove. There are ornamental alliums that equally beautiful (look like the herb) but they are much easier to contain/control. Edited to add… they are equally effective for pest control.

Good morning Janey... i was wonder how you are going to paint under the vines? I see now... with a lot of patience... the color is looking elegant in your garden!!!
Such a Beautiful Garden & Style you have. I just finished decorating my 5 tier decks, rugs & all. Everytime I watch your tours I gasp at your beautiful rugs in your sitting spaces? Where did you get them & are they available to order??
I was wondering are you going to paint your “Honey Suckle Trellis” (sp?) in the fall/winter the same color as your fence when the honey suckle foliage die back? Overall very Nice!!

How do you have hygrengeas... we are supposedly a zone 9 too but in vegas it gets way hotter than your climate i think. Ive tried so many times and even pw said you cant grow in zone 9? Are they in all shade? So jealous ❤
Totally enjoying your garden creations, progress has been phenomenal this year, well done you! Re aphids, have you tried spraying water with a little '"Eco" dish soap in it? Works for me xx🪲
@@DigPlantWaterRepeat Good luck and enjoy! Also,, the fence colour is a massive job but well worth the sweat, it really raises the level of your lovely garden. xx
Are the vinca getting double water? I plant them every year because of how maintenance free they are and can handle my full sun and Texas heat. If they are getting drip plus over water , you might want to stop the drip on them.
Your Rose of Sharon is lovely. I have question for you, or anyone else who would like to answer; My spring planted Rose of Sharon Blue Chiffon (proven winners) quit blooming several weeks ago, and it only grew maybe 1"-2" since it was planted. According to PW growing info. for this plant it is supposed to grow much faster than that "up to 2 feet of growth in a single season") and bloom until frost. I followed the planting suggestion PW have on the growing page & have watered and fed it appropriately, so I don't know what is going on. The plant looks healthy otherwise. Any suggestions to get it to bloom again this summer?? Thank you.
Hi Sandy! The first year I had that rose of sharon it it barely grew!! Just now it is starting to grow FAST! It must be another plant that sleeps the first year, creeps then leaps! I would be patient and I bet next season you start seeing lots of growth.
Looks beautiful! When you started talking about a sign on your gate, I thought you should have your Dig Plant Repeat logo made into a sign and hang it. The fence is looking great!

@@DigPlantWaterRepeat I love that idea too! Your garden looks beautiful Janey! :)

Your garden is so beautiful. Plant chives in your kitchen garden. Their blooms are so pretty.
The painted fence is one of my favorite things! Everything just pops next to it 😍💋
Thank you so much my friend!!

Oh that is great Cynthia! I feel like I have that song stuck in my head all day long and I dont mind at all! 😆 Thank you so much for watching!
Beautiful garden, in Texas with all most 50 days of 100+ and no rain, I've had to place umbrella's over some plants.
Yikes Angie!! I hope you get a break from the heat soon! 🥵
That lemonade stand has my heart 💛 have you considered painting your white pool equipment slate or dark to make it disappear too?
Yes!! We are talking to the contractor about possibly building a fence around it! 🤞🏼

The fountain is my favorite part. Did Steve's sunflowers ever come up? Thanks for sharing🌻
Thank you Brenda! yes they are still babies though, I was REALLY late sowing them!
How do you have hygrengeas... we are supposedly a zone 9 too but in vegas it gets way hotter than your climate i think. Ive tried so many times and even pw said you cant grow in zone 9? Are they in all shade? So jealous ❤
Nice garden❤
Totally enjoying your garden creations, progress has been phenomenal this year, well done you! Re aphids, have you tried spraying water with a little '"Eco" dish soap in it? Works for me xx🪲
Thank you so much Jen! I will try that!
Yes I think that is exactly the problem Yasmin! I will have to go take out the emitters to those for sure! Thanks for the tip!
Love the fence color too! What is the color and brand plsss?
Thanks so much!
Found it! 😀
Thanks Ana!! Behr Slate! 💗
Excellent😃
@@DigPlantWaterRepeat Thank you so much. That makes me feel better. I was hoping that would be the case.
