Hi Janey. I’m glad that Jason has joined the team. It’s nice to see a wife and husband working together with a common goal. You will thrive if you both view it as a partnership. I love watching your property develop into an oasis.
I feel like I keep repeating myself but every single video gets prettier and prettier! I LOVE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE! And it makes me so happy that now Jason is part of the team. Keep up the fantastic work it totally amazes me what you have already created in this short amount of time!!! ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌲🐈 🐔🦮🐇🌻☀️
Hey Janey... a suggestion for around the Vego beds. They're on concrete, so a great base. I would put a brick boarder around the entire concrete area. For now you could loose lay if funds are tight, but eventually cement to the concrete and fill the interior with a beautiful pea gravel. That way water can still find its way to the drain through the gravel. Or... if you can... I hear there is a tall version of your rusty edging, you could use that surrounding the cement and once again fill with pea gravel. Love your channel even though we're in very different zones and climates. ✋️Greetings from Southwestern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 (Zone 6B)
Janey, the garden house and topiaries just look so beautiful. I love symmetry, looks so picture perfect! You must remember how much you’ve accomplished in a few short months. Actually, the total space is such an opportunity for creativity! ❤😂❤
That is great news I am happy that Jason is now part of the team. What you have done in such a short amount of time is amazing. Live to watch your garden journey. 🌺🌸🐰🐓
Hello . The hostas look great (they are growing ) so question , how much sun do hostas need in zone 9b ? I have heard that they do need sun??? My zone 9b is coastal .
I miss your annual swoop. I'd like to make something similar in my front yard. I'd also like to have a shade garden on the other side of the walk with the different shades of green.
You need a 4th chicken 🐓. Chickens will pair off and the 3rd will be a bit lonely. When we had our farm and beloved chickens and we noticed that. Im sure your girls would love another ❤. Everything looks great!!!! Congrats to Jason and all your growth. Happy May 🌸
Hi Janey, loving all your videos, your hard work is certainly paying off. Have you thought about naming your chicken/bunny coop, a sign above the door would look great. 🐰 🐓 keep up the fabulous work. From Deb (New Zealand) 🇳🇿🥰
I just love that your no-till method is working so well. I never would have guessed it, I never would have recommended it (as I’ve farmed for over 20 years now), and I just love being shown another way!
So happy for you and Jason - I hope it works out exactly as you wish it to! I think Jason is just the help you need! It's too much for 1 person to do it all & I'm glad you have help & we get to see more stuff that way! It will be great to see some of Jason's ideas in the garden!
What a great piece of property. It is so ideal for you and your passion for gardening. The office, extra barn and all the space to grow different ‘rooms’ is amazing. I was just in your area visiting family. I appreciated the pre-Spring look at all the blooms. You in CA are much further ahead than Michigan.
Would love to see some videos focusing on setting up the drip and irrigation. I'm also Northern CA and am interested in knowing what emitters you use and where you place them.
You and your family are just the sweetest! Thank you for making time in your busy lives to share so much of yourselves with everyone! I could not be happier for you and Jason!!
Everything is looking amazing. I have chickens too. DO you Get RACOONS? If so, you might want to add a hasp that allows you to use a carribeaner to close it up. from what I understand racoons have very nimble flingers but cant figure out the carribeaner hasp lock thing. I have racoons and skunk in our area and so far a year later no problems.
Ok-that shade area is perfect for a beautiful mural painted along the full length of the house, in calming color tones and maybe a nature woodsy theme with fairies, nymphs and all the things!! 🧚🏼♀️🍄🟫✨🦋🌙🐸🌿It would tone down the brightness of the wall color, tie into the plantings, and create a cozy little room even more so than now! Just having fun imagining the space! It’s going to be great fun for you guys no matter what you do there!! 👩🏼🌾
The lemon coral sedum also winters over in 9b and gets 2x2ish by spring, and flowers beautifully before most other stuff, so nice very early spring interest, then you can dig it up, hack it into more manageable pieces and replant. Awesome plant.
You should watch the Epic Homestead summer tour " It's never looked better" tittle. If you skip to 13.6 you'll see how they have hide their water cistern tank with a passion fruit trellis.
That fairy garden is the BOMB! I just LOVE it! Ooooof, you're going to need some hanging fans in the chicken run if you don't want roasted chickens! I think a patch of Kentucky Bluegrass lawn the length of your deck, 5 feet deep would soften your back yard. And it's so much fun to have a sprinkler going in the hot Summer days where the kids and dog can run through. 🥰
Hi Janey - where the Vego beds are staining the concreted area, have you considered putting down pea gravel or something similar to cover the paved area? It would look natural, cover the staining/cracks, and still provide drainage of water. Just a thought! Everything is looking so beautiful!
Hi from Puerto Rico!!! Have you considered using the vego raised beds arches to support the tomatoes.? Thanks for sharing your garden and gardening knowledge. Love your garden. Success always.
Hello Girl. Just a share, Bucket Buddy's have been around forever. I also love them, put together one my cousin in a homedepot bucket & upholstered the lid for a work seat.
Janey, fellow zone 9b Central Valley gardener! My vista bubblegums overwintered in the ground surprisingly well. I let them look scraggly and bad all winter, then cut back HARD at the last frost date. I got back on the fertilizer schedule and voila, gorgeous petunias for a second year!
Janey, Both the front and back are beginning to look amazing. Really looking forward to seeing your garden at the end of the growing season. Stepping stones or flagstones leading to your office and green house will enhance the back. HAPPY GARDENING!
Antique rose stock looks exactly like mine Vintage Brown stock I’ve started from seeds! I absolutely love them both in garden beds and as cut flowers. ❤
I am in El Dorado County, 9b and have a glass greenhouse. Of course, there are pros and cons to both types, but glass stays clear and lasts. I do use mine for growing seedlings and to store plants over winter. It does get hot though I have an exhaust fan and circulating fan. A little suggestion? Be sure not to let Bella of Ireland go to seed....it will end up all over your property! Ugh
Jannie on the greenhouse glass/plastic you might try cleaning it well with maybe dawndish soap dry off them put a finish on it to shed off moisture which might prevent the foggy look. Not sure what it’s called . I had some that’s for mirrors to prevent fogging and you might check out a product called gel gloss it might work but just check it out to make sure. Good luck 👍😎❤️ The garden is looking beautiful. Also I love the bunnies I wasn’t able to comment because no comment box??
One seat, two daughters? Just buy seat cushions for the patio set, because it seems to work with the space. I would drink tea or coffee in the space while reading.
love to watch the transformation of your property, you have accomplished so much. Great job!! just a thought, in stead of putting wood chips on the pad around the vego bed maybe use a gravel, something large enough that it would not fit through the drain.
Hi Janey, question are you going to be putting a path in - around the green house so you can easily walk among the sunflowers?? But it will also act as a flower bed definition. 😊
That Bonita shell pink aster is just glorious🤩🤩🤩...actually, all of your cut flower garden is! I'm excited to see all of these varieties that I have not seen before. Also, I love the sun setting over your back yard. I know you must be so excited to have all of this space! Oh, I am also growing Orlaya and it is truly AMAZING! OK, I keep editing to add more...lol! I am so inspired after this, but I have run out of space in my yard now...lol!!! Famous last words!
I live about 25mins from you and I have over wintered several supertunias with ok results in ground how ever One in a pot came back for three years and I didn’t do anything special was happy to bad it doesn’t happen all the time lot of money could be saved lol
I was wondering, why do you have a green house if you live in a zone 9B, just for design, or do you intend to plant super tropical plants that can not over winter in your zone? If so which plants would you like to add to the green house?
As much as I love your planting videos I can’t wait for you to organize the workshop 😆 I watched the video on the garage storage system at the last house so many times, it’s so satisfying
To help the bunnies with the heat, freeze water in 2 liter soda bottles. Lay them out on the ground and they will cuddle up to those when they are too hot.

Such a blessing!!! A wonderful news indeed!!! Congratulations to you and your husband Jason for working as team. I come home after 8 hours and gardening definitely has its affect mentally.. It calms a chaotic work day. I work in healthcare myself and it has become overwhelming and overall exhausting and trying my best to push through. Anxiety is through the roof and nights have been restless. Thank for sharing this amazing and wonderful news!!! Cheers 😘🌺🌞🍾
My porch is enclosed with ezebreeze windows. They are heavy mil plastic. They get cloudy with time. I was told to be careful with cleaning products. I use Murphy’s oil soap and company also recommended woolite.
Janey you could cover your cement with wood tiles that clip together. I'm not sure what they are called but you put them on decks.Michael might know what they are( Mr. Glassman) then your drainage would be hidden. I can't believe you haven't even been in your new home for a year yet, it's beautiful!!!!! You and Jason are such hard workers!!!!! I can't wait until this fall to see your gardens!!!!❤❤❤❤
So many pretty things in your scenic backyard, what a delightful tour that was! Your family business is going to thrive just like your beautiful gardens. I admire you Janey and how you’ve charted your own path to success that includes wonder, wisdom and kindness!! ❤️🇨🇦
I got in my garden for the first time today. It’s much smaller but also new, we’ve been here for about eighteen months and I’m in Zone 3. It’s such a pleasure to watch how much you’ve accomplished in such a short time, I do envy you your huge selection of plants you’ve got to work with. The chickens are adorable, fun for the girls, your family is growing rapidly!😏
Idea...don't use messy ground cover between raised beds, use a wood or metal grate..kinda like very low stylish decking...know anyone who works in the garden with metal?
Wowzer.....the gorgeousness never ends......what you've accomplished in such a short period of time is nothing short of amazing. Everything is looking beautiful. I'm zone 9b and Bubblegum has over wintered for me. They looked great the 2nd year. The third was nice but they have not come back this year.

Janey, I was having trouble getting vines to grow up patio porch posts, then I got these small 24×24 raised beds, and planted this out into yard to get more sun. They are already blossoming much better then last year. Planned to send you a pic, but seems like i can't

Make sure that big chair in your shade garden will swivel...
Put a carbiner on your chicken coop latch because raccoons can open those latches. They have oposible thumbs and are so smart!
definitely will!
Your channel is absolutely one of the best and definitely one of my favorites. I never miss a video.
Your garden has really gone through such a amazing transformation it’s looking just beautiful 😊❤️🌸
Love seeing Monty and the bunnies, chicks on video!
Thank you for putting the plant info on the screen for each plant. I know it is a lot of work, but very much appreciated.
Hi Janey! maybe you can also cover the floor of your vego garden beds with small stones like you did in the green house to make it look good.☀️🥰
That is great news I am happy that Jason is now part of the team. What you have done in such a short amount of time is amazing. Live to watch your garden journey. 🌺🌸🐰🐓
Janey, If you clean the windows on the green house, don't use any cleaner with ammonia -- it is too strong for plastic. Research before you clean.
Hello . The hostas look great (they are growing ) so question , how much sun do hostas need in zone 9b ? I have heard that they do need sun??? My zone 9b is coastal .

oh the lion fountain.... 😆

Janey, Both the front and back are beginning to look amazing. Really looking forward to seeing your garden at the end of the growing season.
Stepping stones or

Yes to stepping stones! On my to do list for sure!

Are you placing an edging material the front flower bed of the greenhouse? It looks messy right now ( to me anyway).

Congratulations on Jason joining you. I love watching you two work together.
I actually like misty look of the greenhouse. U cannot see all the parts behind it and makes the table and the plants around it stand out. ❤
I am so envious of your shade garden and that amazing rusted trellis you set up. So beautiful.
Beautiful garden you go girl 👏 love it when you give plant names pictures and info.
When you mention Orlaya is that the same as Minoya lace? Like Linda Vater grows?
Maybe build a small raised deck around the vego raised beds that allow the run off to flow under it but keeps the area looking tidy?
Your garden is coming along beautifully Janey, made all the better with Jason's imput.
Hi Janie, I love the chicken, they are so adorable. How about you use that shade area for your heuchera & hosta garden.
I love your shade garden. It’s giving me major inspiration ❤
I think your greenhouse look pretty. It should never look perfect
I cant find the second video of that n.w. fairy garden you said was upcoming
Good luck Jason, enjoy.
Your yard looks so good! I love what you are doing in each area! Beautiful!
Everything is looking beautiful!
Everything is coming along nicely...I love it!
I love Iceberg roses as well! I have 12 and they are heavenly right now!!
Dibbs on the little patio set if you get rid of it lol (I’m local) it’s so perfect! 😍
Love the greenhouse. It looks a little bit mysterious and romantic.
Can you explain how to interpret plant size and spacing ?
Delphinium is a great alternative to foxgloves
Your stock are pretty tall. When did you plant them out?
Could you put a rain-x coating on the greenhouse to keep it cleaner longer?
To help the bunnies with the heat, freeze water in 2 liter soda bottles. Lay them out on the ground and they will cuddle up to those when they are too hot.
I had goats when i was a kid, they are similar to dogs. Soo cute.
You need real chicken feed and water containers. They are so cute
Always love your videos. Just sayin’❤
