Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

- These soft and chewy oatmeal raisin cookies have a touch of cinnamon and JUST the right amount of sweetness from the raisins. This classic cookie is a must make!
RECIPE: preppykitchen.com/oatmeal-rai...
Homemade oatmeal raisin cookies are so much better than ANY store-bought version. Even if you’re not a raisin fan they’re still amazing. Baking those raisins really wakes the flavor up and complements the oats, cinnamon, and brown sugar.

I swapped out the raisins for dried cranberries and added a half cup of white chocolate chips and they were the best cookies I've ever enjoyed!
How many plaid shirts do you have?
Many 🤣
Yes
Now ask Adrian Bliss how many costumes he’s had it’ll never ene
One for each recipe.
That's how I recognize his videos. Lol
I made these. And they are now my absolute favorite cookie. Thank you John for your videos! I’m feeling like a cooking goddess!
This guy is the best i’ve tried more than a few of his recipes and every single one of them was a success love his lemon cookies they are absolutely mouthwatering today I tried his oatmeal raisin cookies and they are to die for good work John
I will be replacing those elderly grapes with chocolate.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL @elderly grapes
Hahaha, elderly grapes! I'm with you on that one.
Elderly grapes 😅😅😅
Bshsjsbbsjsh
I found these on his website about a week ago and made them into oatmeal cream pies. Just say no to raisins.
I made these cookies two weeks ago and they were delicious!! I'm making another batch now!! I added cranberries this time instead of the raisins. I added walnuts, mini dark chocolate chips, shredded coconut and flax seeds! They came out soo good! Thank you for this recipe!
I'm an experienced cook and baker. I must say that these cookies turned out better than you could ever believe. Thank you, John!!
𝓐𝓫𝓼𝓸𝓵𝓾𝓽𝓮𝓵𝔂, 𝓘 𝓪𝓰𝓻𝓮𝓮 🙆🏽♀️
These were great! My husband and daughter loved them. They wanted chocolate chips mixed in so I added 1 cup to the original recipe. Next time I'll make them without chocolate chips and add my favorite addition- toasted walnuts for a more traditional oatmeal raisin cookie. Thank you- we enjoy watching your video's every week!
Never in my life have I craved anything with raisins in it .... I guess there is a first for everything because these look delicious!!
Thank you, I made these (no nuts) and they turned out great! I did find I needed to bake them for longer, about 15 minutes. Usually oatmeal raisin is not my favorite, but needed to use up some oatmeal and they were sooo good!
You’ve made me such a better cook/baker and I thank you, my family thanks you❤️
I always come back to this recipe. Such a delicious cookie. I normally don't buy brown sugar, even with white sugar still comes out great. We could have these every day! Certainly a recipe to pass on to your kids- simple yet delicious.
I’ve been using your recipe to make cookies for my family, but I did it with a twist! I use dried cranberries instead of raisins, almonds instead of walnuts, and added 1/4 tsp of almond extract for fragrance and a little more almond flavor! Oh! My! Gosh! They are perfect every time! Worry not though. I’ve also made the original recipe, and loved it! You’re the bomb 🤩✨💃🏽
how much total extract do you use? that sounds delish. tia
Sounds horrendous
So you made a completely different cookie
Saw your video arrive in my notifications, thought 'I have all those ingredients' and I have just baked them. Came out perfectly and delicious (even though I was too impatient to cool the mixture in the fridge for an hour). Now my only problem is stopping myself finishing off the lot! Love your videos and have made 10+ of your recipes during January lockdown here in England - thank you so much and love your presentation style!
I was just thinking about making oatmeal raisin cookies because my brother absolutely loves them and I love to make them for him! I am so excited to try your recipe! 😁
I made these cookies today, and they are the best oatmeal cookies recipe ever!! Very delicious!! Thank you!!! ♥
John always has the cutest baking accessories. I need that rose gold wire rack in my life!
It sparks joy for me.
Yes! I love it too! I never knew a wire rack could be so pretty.
@@PreppyKitchen Where can it be purchased?!!
Dang, my wire cooling rack looks like Sputnik in comparison. 😉
@@PreppyKitchen Were do you purchase theese beautiful copper
Oatmeal raisin are my favorite cookies. Giving this recipe a try.
I can’t not escape you every time I look up a recipe your always there thank you
Oh you have the perfect oatmeal recipe. I just made mine with ruby red Middle Eastern giant juicy raisins and some little pepitas and I am absolutely thrilled:-) oatmeal cookies can be boring and disappointing but your recipe holds everything together and the sweetness is perfect.
Also substituted chopped dried apricots for raisins and used unsweetened shredded coconut instead of nuts and made a lemon icing and these turned out really well. This recipe is very adaptable.
Right now your oatmeal cookie recipe dough is chilling in my refrigerator. Can't wait to try them after they are ready!!!😋😄
Just tried baking it. It's so delicious. Best oatmeal cookies I have tasted. Easy to make. I've added seeds as well. Thank you John
Thanks for making me feel comfortable... I always had such a difficult time with this cookie... My family loves this ingredient... Your such a wonderful teacher... Thanks again John
I tried this recipe and it was a success. It never fails when I try any of your recipes. Thank you!!
Oatmeal raisin cookies are one of my favorites. Can’t wait to try this recipe.
I baked this yesterday and my husband love it… thank youso much for the recipe
Just made cookies today. Totally delicious and so easy to make. Thank you for providing the measurements in metric.
I’ve made this recipe more than once. I don’t have a mixer so I have always done it by hand. Today, I decided to use my bullet to mix the wet ingredients. I only had 15 minutes to chill the mix. The cookies did not spread out at all and puffed up more than an inch. Great recipe. Thanks.
These cookies look scrumptious. I’m looking for a really good oatmeal cookie recipe and I will bake my cookies using this recipe. I thank you for sharing.
I made these yesterday for my team meeting for work. They are so gooood😋 you can’t go wrong with this recipe!!
Did you read my mind? I literally just said yesterday to my husband “I should look up an oatmeal raisin cookie recipe”
Love that coincidence!
@@PreppyKitchen I said that tomorrow I am going to make some oatmeal raisin cookies to my husband and voilà-- it is your post! Making now
@@PreppyKitchen Are you reading our minds or something?! I was also thinking of making oatmeal raisin cookies when you posted this lol
Same!
First time making cookies, followed your recipe, tips and turned outstanding…. Thank you
I love that you put the grams as well, so useful and much more precise than cups and spoons!
I think cookies need to be taken seriously and exact measurements are priceless and I totally agree with you :-)
I like that you always have a part in all your videos that makes us smile
Delicious! I didn’t skip the chill time and this is my new go to recipe.
There was a raisin I liked you john! This is hands down my favorite type of cookie
Thank you for this recipe! I live watching your videos, very inspiring. You make cooking, baking easier. I ate this cookie once from a farm market, since I’m addicted. I’ve been looking for the videos to bake it at home while recovering from postpartum. You save me, and yours shows up first.
Again Thank you!
Thanks John! Me, my mom, and especially my dad LOVED those raisin cookies! 🍪🍪 I’m a baker 👨🍳.
I love how John actually answers our questions in the comments and talks with us, unlike other UA-camrs who dint care.
Wish he'd tell me where to get his copper measuring scoops
@@kathyradford7187 Brian gave them to him.
@@Truckyducky thanks Jana! I wish I could find out where he made the purchase :)
@@kathyradford7187not certain but they look almost identical to the ones on Amazon. They might be from Ubersweet as well. Happy hunting! They are gorgeous!
just made these and they tasted so so good! amazing recipe, great tips, and wonderfully edited video :)) thank you
Loved the recipe. Tried it and the cookies are amazing! Thanks
Glad to know I'm not the only one asking "Where's the vanilla???" when I'm making cookies! I'm always so good about keeping everything else handy, but never the vanilla.
I’m sorry but I burst out laughing at your name 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just bought raisins yesterday so I could make some oatmeal raisin cookies! I was looking at the America’s Test Kitchen video, but thought that she didn’t have enough raisins (only a half cup), but she doesn’t like raisins either. I, otoh, love them, so these are always a favorite cookie of mine.
Cannot wait to try out this recipe!
First off, thank you so much for this! Made this recipe yesterday with some changes. I doubled the recipe, and added about a cup or so of homemade hard crack toffee along with the oats and raisins. I made larger cookies, using a standard ice cream scoop and baked them for 18 minutes at 375. It's one of the most delicious, decadent things I've ever tasted, and I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to bake more.
THANKS A LOT ! This is our favorite cookies and we double the recipe and bake them last night. We finished half of it immediately and decided to triple the recipe and freeze them.
We follow your recipes and if we are searching for a recipe we search if you have given the recipe….
Your page is my go to reference for my baked goods. I am making these right now. I used part coconut extract with the vanilla and toasted pecans.. also I lightly toast my oats.. Thanks so much
Just make those gorgeous cookies. Ammmazing. I used goji berries and picans. Just perfect. My family loved them.
Tried the recipe and it's super delicious! Thank you!
Absolutely love you’re kitchen. Somethings I satisfying watching you bake and that you keep it so clean satisfies my OCD

Best Oatmeal cookies 🍪 i ever made thank you it's a keeper 🧡
I just finished making these, and I do believe they are the best cookie I’ve ever eaten YUM 😋
And last fall I froze grapes, then yesterday I dehydrated them and used them and wow! YUM
John, I just finished working out. Sitting here with a protein shake which is awful. And here come these tasty treats laughing at me with their cinnamon raisiny goodness.
I don't know how you do your shakes, but for mine I need milk, even if it is not full fat milk. If I use water, they are disgusting and I can't finish them.
It might be your protein powder. I always use Viking Supps chocolate protein powder. It tastes like a melted milkshake when made with even just water.
@@ChelseyWithLove where do you buy this protein powder
I made them tonight for the first time. So beautiful
Thank You...Merry Christmas and May the New Year bring You Great New Recipes..🙏😘🎈
Love these! Your videos are easy to follow, and this recipe was simple. Definitely saved to my collection of recipes. 😋❤️✌🏼

This has been my go to oatmeal cookie recipe for the last few months. I substitute raisins for dried cranberries and add grated ginger…DELICIOUS!!
I WILL TRY THESE COOKIES, JOHN I LOVED SEEING YOU MAKE THESE EXCITING RECIPES.
I’m making these for a second time. I soaked my raisins in rum and my cookies were so good!
I made your oatmeal cookies like a week ago so now I have to make these😁
I made this recipe and it came out good! Will definitely be making this again. By the way I used Iodine salt with the same measurement, I personally like it because it balances the sweetness of the cookie. Thank you so much. God bless!
Thanks for the recipe! Glad I followed yours! It turns out pretty decent! Luv it😍
You are Awesome I love your videos I tried your oatmeal raisin cookies I love how you said to chill the batter for an hour cookies came out delicious 💕

I made these today, thank you. They are excellent.
Made these today. Delicious! Thank you
I baked these last night and they were fantastic! Only changes I made were substituting the all purpose flour with almond flour, the granulated sugar for monkfruit, and the brown sugar with swerve brown. Turned out absolutely amazing and these will be a staple in my house from now on.
Hi Bruce how much monk fruit and how much almond flour? As followed by his recipe?
@@nanwilliams4429 Yes...I followed the recipe exactly but just did a 1:1 replacement with almond flour and monk fruit instead of the all purpose flower and sugar. They turned out great!
It’s 00:35 in South Africa right now and I’m making these cooking right now. Great recipe
