Don’t make these…..unless you want to stub your toe on the end table trying to sneak in the kitchen in the middle of the night to grab one. These little cookies are so good I can’t even begin to explain! 🤤
1/2 cup raisins 1/2 cup golden raisins 1 cup hot water 3/4 cup (170 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature (1 1/2 sticks) 1 cup (200 grams) packed light brown sugar 1 large egg 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3/4 cup (100 grams) all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg 3 cups (270 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats DIRECTIONS Heat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Add raisins to a small bowl then cover with hot water. The hot water helps the raisins to become plump and juicy. Set the bowl aside for about 10 minutes. In a large bowl, beat the room temperature butter and sugar with a hand blender until creamy, about 2 minutes. (You can also use a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment). Add the egg and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract then beat until combined, about 1 minute. In another bowl, use a whisk to combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Next, add the oats then stir until well combined. Add the oat mixture to the butter and sugar mixture in thirds, beating after each addition until incorporated. Drain the raisins then gently press down or squeeze them to remove any extra water. Stir them into the cookie batter. (Use a spatula or spoon for this, not the mixer). BAKE COOKIES Drop dough by two tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto baking sheets. (You can also use a large cookie scoop for this). Then, wet the tips of your fingers with water and gently press cookies down until they are about 1/2-inch thick. If some of the cookies have no raisins showing on top, steal a few raisins from the bowl and add to the tops of the cookies (they are prettier this way). Bake cookies 10 to 15 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown, the center is still soft. Cool cookies on baking sheet for 10 minutes then move to a cooling rack and cool completely.
Never made them before but was asked to make a batch for my daughter to take to work (hospital) and got hooked. Now bake loads and share with neighbours and daughter. Yum
1 cup of raisins 1 cup hot water 3/4 cup butter or 1 1/2 sticks butter 1 cup of packed brown sugar 1 large egg 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg 3 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats
I got a sudden craving for oatmeal raisin cookies earlier today and decided to try out this recipe, and you guys did not disappoint. They are chewy and lightly crisp and perfect. I split the dough in half and replaced the raisins in one half with zested orange peel and cranberries and they are giving me all the Christmas Spirit I could ask for. Thank you for the recipe!
I got soooo excited to make these cookies just to find out I don’t have brown sugar. Nor do I have molasses to make it from scratch with white sugar. And it’s nighttime so leaving my house isn’t feasible. I thought about just using white sugar in place of brown sugar, but I decided if I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do it right! I’ll just have to make it tomorrow. Kind of a bummer, but I’m excited for tomorrow! Update: I bought brown sugar and made them. My whole family loved them so I made more the next day with double the original recipe. They’re addictive!

21 and first time baking SWEETS! I have you two's recipes. I was so scared that it might go wrong because I didn't follow the instructions at all (well... except the measurements of the ingredients) and they still came out GREAT!! I'm going to use this recipe from now on out!! Lowkey glad UA-cam recommended you two!
OMG! This is the best cookie ever. HEALTHY AND YUMMY. I removed the raisins and added a pinch of salt. Was able to make 15pcs of oatmeal cookies by flattening 1/4 cup of the dough. I will make this again using cranberries. 😇😇😇
Thanks for posting this quick, easy and delicious recipe! I felt like I needed a little something extra after pizza, and I made these cookies on a whim while enjoying a six-pack of Budweiser. Didn't expect much, but the final cookies were GREAT! Made without raisins (didn't have any, so had to add just a sprinkle of water towards the end), and without nutmeg, so used cloves, which I love. Just having the recipe and the encouragement to go for it made my evening. Some people may think what you did is minor, but the Bud was truly minor and the dessert after pizza made the whole evening perfect. Thank you!
Saw this receipe last week. Made a batch right away. I did not have nutmeg, but they came out delicious. Added dried cranberries as well. delish. I JUST finished making another batch. Fast n easy. Thank you!!!
We are in Australia, and my family love oatmeal and raisin cookies. She said they were like the expensive ones she buys. She said you only get about 6 cookies and they are expensive. As soon as she walked in and took a cookie, she said, new recipe. I said yes, and she said to keep making this recipe.
Just made these, I used raisins and cranberries(dried and prepared just like the raisins). This is the 1st recipe that has ever came out to the correct amount of cookies(16 is what it makes and 16 is what I got). Really good results, making more in an hour. thank you!
Wow, this is the best recipe I have found. I made similar cookies from another site yesterday it turned out 'Cakey', after watching this video I realise it was to do with the fact that there was more flour than oats! Thanks for sharing I will definitely use your recipe.

Other than extra raisins and nuts I followed this recipe to the letter this recipe is the best as I have tried at least 6 other recipes for oatmeal raisin cookies that didn't pan out lol! 😋🤗😁

I made these cookies today - following your recipe. As I was back from my 4 hours out of doors! I bought all of the ingredients the night before - and was very much looking forward to trying them out (I am very new to baking!). They indeed came out very well and smelt delicious - although the part I struggled with mostly was the mixing of the butter and light brown sugar (I do not have a hand or stand mixer so creamed the butter and sugar with a wooden spoon instead) - this took a while, and it was difficult to get the mixture soft. Note to self... Wear steele toe boots to bed
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup golden raisins
1 cup hot water
3/4 cup (170 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature (1 1/2 sticks)
1 cup (200 grams) packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup (100 grams) all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
3 cups (270 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats
DIRECTIONS
Heat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).
BAKE COOKIES
Drop dough by two tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto baking sheets.

I made these and they are the best oatmeal raisins cookies I’ve ever made and it was easy. Thank you so much
Glad you like them! Enjoy 💜
Im making these right now! I bet they will be DELICIOUS!!!!
Just put a batch in the oven and waiting for them to cook. I added walnuts too. I am really excited for them to be done.
I used your recipe and the cookies came out amazing!!! 🔥
Thanks, made this keto-ish by nixing sugar(raisins are enough) and substituting wheat flour with almond flour. They turned out super😋!
VERY GOOD AND SIMPLE. GOTTA TRY IT RIGHT AFTER WATCHING
THANKS
Good tip! With the egg seprete from the mix because it's easier to get the shells out the the bowl rather then getting in the mix!
made these and they were sooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oatmeal is a good food. I'm currently making (Grandma's) Oatmeal Cake with raisins and pecans. It's yummy and healthy.
Made these today very good, used slightly less sugar.
How much sugar did you put? I do not really like sweet cookies.
Made these. Easy and de-lish-ous, made half the recipe and a little smaller cookie and still got 2 dozen. Will make these again! Ty for sharing
I soak mine in Rum. Alcohol evaporates during baking, but flavour stays. Thank you for this awesome recipe.
I sure hope you don't throw out the drainage from the raisins!
