Let’s not forget about Vitaly Petrov’s start at Albert Park 2010. Gained about 8 places in the wet. That being his first ever F1 start makes it even more impressive.
Number 26 is legendary by Mika Häkkinen. According to Mclaren at that time no one had ever been launching faster as per the telemetry data. When Mika arrived to the first corner he was already like 100 meters ahead of the rest. 👍🏻😊
Alonso is the best starter F1 has ever seen. Of course, all the others were capable of masterpieces like many in this video, but Alonso does it so consistently you don't even get surprised anymore that Alonso has made a great start. You get surprised when he has a poor start instead xD
Great video. I'd forgotten just how extraordinary those Renault starts from the mid-2000's were. For what it's worth, I would have added Alonso's start from the 2011 Spanish Grand Prix, Damon Hill's getaway in the 1997 Hungarian Grand Prix and Petrov from Australia 2010. (PS. Loved the retro graphics. Nice touch.)
Wow... Stefan Bellof. It's about time someone credits him for the awesome prospect that he was. People have decided to forget that he outshined Senna in Monaco 84, he was gaining time on both Prost and Senna when the race stopped. Senna has always been highly praised for that particular race but i never hear anyone talking about Bellof.
He seems to of been the most overlooked and forgotten what if in f1 history. Shame he died before his career could take off. Also in 1984 his team lost all of their points due to a major penalty
@@jrsmith5080 you do realise that Bellof had the fastest car that day, maybe only second to the mclarens? not to discredit him or anything but he was driving a non-turbo car (which is much faster in wet weather) and the Tyrell he was driving had illegal fuel and they were later disqualified from the season for it...
Aren't there rumors about them having some (possibly illegal) device that would notice a change in the sensors of the track which are/ were installed to recognize jump starts?
They detected the radio signal to the grid sensors when the signal dropped they launched. Was on for two races. But Fernando is on here for 3 different teams and Hammy isn’t so where are all the fan boys???
I watched the race that day, I just could not believe what I witnessed, the start was just sensational, my favourite has to be Jean alesi monza 96, and Schumacher a very close second
No Hamilton or Vettel in this video... And I don't even remember a good or brutal race start from them, or at least, not like this ones... Beautiful stuff! Thanks bro!

I have to say I was hoping to see Alonso´s start on Spain 2011, from 4th to 1st, those fast left right moves were incredible, Great Video anyway!
I like it, but only one start of Gilles is very little. I can remember Spain 1981, where he was second after turn 1, for example. But in a way, it's another awesome video. Thanks, Antti!

1:42 - best team overtake I can remember of really. And second only to this list's 3:14 - Senna beating all top 6 McLaren Ferrari and Williams to get first.
Those starts in the late 90s were so entertaining cause nowadays the getaways dont vary that dramatically and usually everyone gets away fairly well. Seeing a handful of cars lose/gain several positions right off the line is awesome

All those Renault starts were down to launch control before other teams mastered it. I heard from a mate Renault were detecting a change in the electronic current in the grid jump start detector that occurred when the lights went green to automatically launch the cars.
