      The truth about Schumacher needing his teammates to sign #2 driver contracts so they weren't allowed to beat compete against him on a level playing field has been leaked. His whole first career is based on a lie:
      "At the time I handled people like Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jean Alesi, and every time we went to sign a contract with Michael Schumacher or Ferrari it always had conditions in it" - Eddie Jordon.
      "Whether I signed with Eddie Irvine, Rubens Barrichello or whoever they were - there was a clause there that they always had to play second-fiddle to Michael Schumacher.' Eddie Jordan
      "I had an opportunity to go to Ferrari but the contract that was offered by Jean was that if Michael was 5th and I was 4th, I had to move over, and, if I was 1st and he was 2nd, I had to move over.I couldn't sign a contract that committed me to being a #2" - David Coulthard.
      "Ferrari, the contract that was offered effectively made me, on paper, number two to Michael. I've no doubt that Michael was the stronger driver out of the two because I recognise he was a better overall package than I was but at that stage of my career, I just couldn't accept signing a number two contract and that's why I decided to sign at McLaren and I think that was the right decision for my career." David Coulthard.

      @@MT-pv2rf Ferrari historically has always had a number 1 and number 2 driver, Michael was, at the time, their number 1, whoever wanted the other seat had to play number 2 whether they liked it or not. Plus, Michael brought his own people, engineers, mechanics, technicians, etc. Schumacher built that team to make Ferrari champions again, why would he give away everything and let someone else enjoy the success of his hard work?? He was the heart and soul of Ferrari, he gave them a championship when they couldn't win anything for decades; without him and his people, Ferrari wouldn't have won shit.
      And Coulthard can go fuck himself, that fucking jealous wanker.

    • @Jojo_Bee
      @Jojo_Bee 3 роки тому +4

      I believe the said clause does exist but I think they use thay clause effectively for as long as the titles have been secured. Also, MSC's number 2 drivers are nowhere near him, so them winning was just that winning but they cant do it consistently into a title bagging performance. How mamy times did they actually execute their wingman clause to "let Michael pass" throughout those years?

Like, in fangio’s time, they didn’t wear sea4belts, didn’t have helmets etc these cars were still very hard to drive and faster, but are completely different, but Schumacher is a legend. Schumacher is widely regarded as a bastard. He was super quick but would drive an opponent off the track rather than race side by side. He was ugly. There are numerous examples of the Shoe Maker being prepared to kill his fellow racing driver rather than lose his position.....for me, that makes him certainly NOT king of F1. Racing on equal terms and beating your opponent to the flag is what makes a great champion, not winning at any cost.

    Back in those days I remember I was waiting in agony the next GP, the Next Season to start, not just because of Schumi. In those days you didn't know what will happen. You had car reliability, Rain, refueling, strategy and no DRS. They may have not taken safety issues that seriously but that was F1! It was a sport with the most frills. Rain was pouring down like hell and the race was on, cars were breaking down on the side of the road and the safety car wasn't deployed. Nowadays you have a boring formula and the only action you can expect is from a bit of rain or safety car deployment to cause an upset in the order and see some action. You don't have to be a super driver like Michael was to drive an F1 car. It almost drives by itself and George Russel proved that last weekend when he was driving for Mercedes.
    No matter How many more titles anyone gets from Schumi he will always be The BEST!

    F1 Lived and Died with the V10s... everything since this time has been down hill. I understand the reasons for the change... It wasn't fair for teams that did not have pockets as deep as McLaren/Mercedes and Ferrari. It's difficult to compete in any arena with people that have virtually unlimited budgets.
    At the same time... moving away from V10s that were literally run to within a lap of their life before exploding: cut the competitiveness and the heart out of the garages where many innovations were made.

      @Daniel Barton Because the Ferrari was (much) worse than Williams (1996-97), McLaren (1998-2000) and Renault (2005-06) in those years. At least Schumacher (in his prime) wouldn't be beaten by teammates such as Button and Rosberg.

    • @snfcbmf12799
      @snfcbmf12799 4 роки тому +2

      @Daniel Barton You have got a British name so I didn't expect you to be objective anyway. If Schumacher was British and not German, he would be seen as a God by you. Even more than the 1966 WC squad.

    • @snfcbmf12799
      @snfcbmf12799 4 роки тому +2

      @Daniel Barton I'm not German mate, and the UK (I wouldn't call it a small island with almost 60 million inhabitants tbh) is probably my favourite country. English football (especially the Championship, Lge 1 and Lge 2) has some of the most beautiful competitions.
      Schumacher did never have a number 1 contract at Ferrari, according to Todt and Brawn. Schumacher just was a better driver than his teammates. Bottas was signed by Lauda at Mercedes to be the number 2 driver. Hamilton was/is also better than his teammates at McLaren and Mercedes.
      I'm not going to deny Schumacher had infamous moments, but don't forget racing was a lot harder and less fair back in the day. Senna and Prost weren't angles either. '97 Jerez and '06 Monaco were infamous, but Schumacher didn't win the race and didn't win the championship. He did win in 1994 but the FIA did give him a bullshit 2 race ban, and Hill still couldn't really catch up in a superior Williams. Schumacher deserved the title anyway.

    • @snfcbmf12799
      @snfcbmf12799 4 роки тому +2

      @Daniel Barton The Williams was definitely the fastest car in 1994. Schumacher won the first races because he was quick and because Senna made rookie mistakes (Brazil) or was unlucky (Japan, and Imola of course). That Williams was definitely a great car. Unfortunately for Senna, something from the car broke off and he was hit by it.
      Ferrari had the fastest car in 1999, but Schumacher missed indeed half the season. 1998 and 2000 surely had a slight McLaren dominance.
