Back in those days I remember I was waiting in agony the next GP, the Next Season to start, not just because of Schumi. In those days you didn't know what will happen. You had car reliability, Rain, refueling, strategy and no DRS. They may have not taken safety issues that seriously but that was F1! It was a sport with the most frills. Rain was pouring down like hell and the race was on, cars were breaking down on the side of the road and the safety car wasn't deployed. Nowadays you have a boring formula and the only action you can expect is from a bit of rain or safety car deployment to cause an upset in the order and see some action. You don't have to be a super driver like Michael was to drive an F1 car. It almost drives by itself and George Russel proved that last weekend when he was driving for Mercedes. No matter How many more titles anyone gets from Schumi he will always be The BEST!
I don't think there is any of the current drivers can do the same thing like Michael in this video, no matter how screwed the race he had or how far behind he had to start the race he would always manage to be in front to win the race. Even Hamilton or Rosberg (in 2016) with literally the best car on the grid, when they had to start the race below 5th it is almost guarantee that they have lost a race win
@@mjuwildia9271 yes but they also interrupt races where there is too much rain (the one in the video wouldve been red flagged for sure..) preventing it from happeneing
F1 Lived and Died with the V10s... everything since this time has been down hill. I understand the reasons for the change... It wasn't fair for teams that did not have pockets as deep as McLaren/Mercedes and Ferrari. It's difficult to compete in any arena with people that have virtually unlimited budgets. At the same time... moving away from V10s that were literally run to within a lap of their life before exploding: cut the competitiveness and the heart out of the garages where many innovations were made.
Get well soon, Herr Schumacher! Goddammit, those engines were like satanic wails and screams. If there were no commentary, the sounds could be mistaken for a horror movie of the highest order
Now cars have higher win factor than back in the day not to mention tyres preservation, dirty air and some other bullshit that make f1 so boring to watch.
It breaks my heart to see my hero win all these races over the years and to think of the sad tragedy that unfolded on that ski slope almost 10 years ago. Life is so unfair 😢 He'll always be the best to me. Keep fighting Michael!

Ferrari 5 fois champion du monde grasse a Schumacher, Un blaireau 7 fois petit gagnant grasse a Mercedes. Schumacher le plus grand champion du monde de tous les temps. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
@Daniel Barton Because the Ferrari was (much) worse than Williams (1996-97), McLaren (1998-2000) and Renault (2005-06) in those years. At least Schumacher (in his prime) wouldn't be beaten by teammates such as Button and Rosberg.
@Daniel Barton You have got a British name so I didn't expect you to be objective anyway. If Schumacher was British and not German, he would be seen as a God by you. Even more than the 1966 WC squad.
@Daniel Barton I'm not German mate, and the UK (I wouldn't call it a small island with almost 60 million inhabitants tbh) is probably my favourite country. English football (especially the Championship, Lge 1 and Lge 2) has some of the most beautiful competitions. Schumacher did never have a number 1 contract at Ferrari, according to Todt and Brawn. Schumacher just was a better driver than his teammates. Bottas was signed by Lauda at Mercedes to be the number 2 driver. Hamilton was/is also better than his teammates at McLaren and Mercedes. I'm not going to deny Schumacher had infamous moments, but don't forget racing was a lot harder and less fair back in the day. Senna and Prost weren't angles either. '97 Jerez and '06 Monaco were infamous, but Schumacher didn't win the race and didn't win the championship. He did win in 1994 but the FIA did give him a bullshit 2 race ban, and Hill still couldn't really catch up in a superior Williams. Schumacher deserved the title anyway.
@Daniel Barton The Williams was definitely the fastest car in 1994. Schumacher won the first races because he was quick and because Senna made rookie mistakes (Brazil) or was unlucky (Japan, and Imola of course). That Williams was definitely a great car. Unfortunately for Senna, something from the car broke off and he was hit by it. Ferrari had the fastest car in 1999, but Schumacher missed indeed half the season. 1998 and 2000 surely had a slight McLaren dominance.
Going intermediums while everyone else chose wet. It was risky but very worthy, the Ferraris were flying the moment the track went better for those tyres. Strategy really worked well.
This was racing... A guy spins in the middle of the first lap... Nobody hits him... And just like Voss manoeuvred the Fokker triplane fighting six enemy fighters alone.... This guy just spins back and keeps going... Germans are no nonsense guys....
They also mention 'Ralf Schumacher' the younger brother who had won the 2001 Grand Prix season if i recall correctly ;) Two times the Schumachers, double the mentions!

Thats what is missing today on the commentary ,no excitement
Thank you, that you have upload the races of Shummi the best F1 racer of all times no doubt!
Not just skills that Michael shows, also impressive judgement of the limit speed you can carried through corners under low grip condition, when everyone had to slow down ,he can still accelerate, sometimes you can see he accuatly took a completely different line through corners, a truly rainmaster
Agree .
The bulk of the difference here came from the choice of tire as the commentator points out. Judgement alone wouldn't give this kind of an advantage.
Murray Walker, the T R U E voice of F1...........Keep Fighting Michael......
I was at Sepang for this race .. Schumi killed everyone that day #keepfightingmichael
Otherwise No one has a Chance to win against Verstappen.
Excellent race and drive by a legend!
Schumacher the best. Lost interest in F1 after schumi retired.
My only reason to watch F1 was Schumacher's aggressive driving. Respect to the best F1 driver.
Thanks! What a wonderful race.
I remember watching this as a child, his ability in the rain always amazed me.
we need to get our hands on the DNA of Murray and clone him just so we can have a good commentator in some future again!
yeah cause crofty sucks
Impossible to happen as long as Sky in charge..
Do u remember Jonathan ledgard? . He was the absolute worst
SufferingAddict he was funny. I like Martin Brundle, he's calmer too
I think Brundle's commentary is okay.
It's races like this one that make a legend. So much better than cruising past using DRS.
This was when f1 was exciting, been to quite a few races, but wouldn't go now to boring

@Daniel Barton so sore lol
One and only.Micheal Schumacher.🥰
Heute noch Gänsehaut!!!
Those days, waiting for the next race and season. And then, when Schumacher stopped, you suddenly realized you were 14 years older.
Jos Verstappen also did good in these extreme conditions...
Back when Formula 1 wasnt afraid to get wet
I don't think there is any of the current drivers can do the same thing like Michael in this video, no matter how screwed the race he had or how far behind he had to start the race he would always manage to be in front to win the race. Even Hamilton or Rosberg (in 2016) with literally the best car on the grid, when they had to start the race below 5th it is almost guarantee that they have lost a race win
and just then we have Vettel going from 20th to 2nd a week ago. With rain and a bit of chaos much can happen. Talent is stil required though.
@@imrmalibuz5145 Yeah, but there is no current driver did it as often as Michael
@@mjuwildia9271 yes but they also interrupt races where there is too much rain (the one in the video wouldve been red flagged for sure..) preventing it from happeneing
Thanks for uploading these. Fuckin good ol days man
F1 Lived and Died with the V10s... everything since this time has been down hill.
I watch Senna, Prost etc but is there anything better than a young, hungry Shoemaker?
An old Fangio, in the day...

Andres Coronel its obvious
he has permenent brain damage iit is medicaly impossible for him to get better.i want him better too but its impossible
It dosnt mean you have to be negative. Medically yes, but in our hearts thier is always a chance. Schumy would be the first to say it.
Outstanding MSC - Keep fighting Micheal
Get well soon, Herr Schumacher! Goddammit, those engines were like satanic wails and screams. If there were no commentary, the sounds could be mistaken for a horror movie of the highest order
Love me some Ferrari 3.0L V-10!!!!!!!!! :-)
In those days Michael Schumacher and Jos Verstappen were the best raindrivers no doubt about that.

why are those old replays more exiting then any current live race, I wonder?
I remember this one. It was amazing. Unfortunatly by then, a good race was a race with rain.
Omg .. commentary super .. motors screaming .. rivals .. super pilots .. tactics .. not so electronics .. legends names .. GOLDEN ERA
Shumi is a true legend like those days and races were. What has happened to F1?
Now cars have higher win factor than back in the day not to mention tyres preservation, dirty air and some other bullshit that make f1 so boring to watch.
Liberty Media happened
It breaks my heart to see my hero win all these races over the years and to think of the sad tragedy that unfolded on that ski slope almost 10 years ago. Life is so unfair 😢

@Daniel Barton You have never seen Michael during his prime then
@Daniel Barton Because the Ferrari was (much) worse than Williams (1996-97), McLaren (1998-2000) and Renault (2005-06) in those years.
How many times they said "Michael Schumacher" in this 20m video? Probably more then 200 times hahaha
They also mention 'Ralf Schumacher' the younger brother who had won the 2001 Grand Prix season if i recall correctly ;) Two times the Schumachers, double the mentions!
Happy Father's Day Michael, Love you, xxx
