- We just got done with Vice. Snell has a ton of competition for the 2024 season. How does the new Snell Prime 3.0 stack up? There have been many changes this year to the Snell Prime, are they all for the better?

been playing VICE (pro plus) and SNELL MTB/X for years and love them both - top golf ball at good prices. Can't be beat and great performing - what's not to love.
Yeah and the grand scheme of things either option is a good one. I would gladly either play a vice ball or a snell ball on any given day

Another great insight! The quality you keep pointing out certainly is a concern with these balls. I would expect that from some cheap no name ball.
Also. I was thinking of the channel the other day when I saw a review for the new Vice putter. Was wondering if they may send you one to test. And they have irons too.

Try the "Legato 3085", its 3 piece urethane also, Amazon has them for under 30 a dozen. I think that you will be very impressed.

Curious what your thoughts are on how the 3.0 compares to the MTB-Black. I love that ball and was really hoping the new Snell line would have an MTB-Black comp since the Black is awesome and doesn't punish as much as the Pro V1 on mis-hits.
As far as forgiveness of the 3.0, do you have a thought as to what a comp to another ball would be?

This ball is way more soft and squishy feeling. Also, the ball is going to compress much much better.
It's honestly one of the better 3 piece models I've tried. Reminds me of Chrome soft forgiveness

Lower launch angle will give you more distance. The excess backspin will frisbee the ball into the air to help control the descent angle.
This is true if the swing and ball speed are fast enough. I am pretty happy where my launch angles were overall with the irons, but the Driver might be a touch too high. I need to get out on the course and test.
@@GolfBallAddict Truth is, I’ll always pass on durability. I played 18 today and threw two balls in the trash. One after a flop shot scuffed the daylights out of the ball and another I knocked paint off with a driver (testing a new ball, not my usual gamer). You’ve already given us the spoiler, so I’m likely a pass on Snell for now and stick to my dwindling supply of Chrome Soft X LS.
Yep, Snell were allot less durable in my testing too. GREAT FEELING AND CONSISTENT but not as durable. Here in Australia the previous model is on sale at $192:80 [AUD} for 5 dozen, no returns, normally $241. They even cite the fact that they had a tendency to cut up. In my humble opinion the Vice Pro is the best DTC ball on the market. And personally, I preferred the old design on the snell ball, the new modern iteration just looks sterile.
It's a shame, right now the snow golf ball would be in direct competition with the vice, however the durability issues give the edge to vice
Greetings Nick. I have a quick question for you. I've tried the new Vice Pro Air and loved its performance with irons inside 150 yds. But, somewhat disappointed with the driver and fairway performance. I have played the previous generation Vice Pro and thought its a better overall performer than the Pro Air. I like the new Prime 3.0 and like the overall performance. Since you have tested both the New Vice Pro and the Prime 3.0, which do you like better? I'm torn between the two...
I like both of them very much. However with the news recently of the terrible quality control from Snell due to their factory burning down, I would have to go with the vice pro.
Cant compare a 2 piece urethane (Snell 2.0) to a 3 piece urethane (Snell 3.0)……apples vs. oranges in every way!⛳️
Absolutely absurd that mygolfspy gave this ball a D-. Snell balls are top notch.
Since the rebrand the balls feel dead off the club.
I thought the 3.0 had some spring and step. It definitely does feel better than the old traditional feeling model, but there's definitely some bouncy ball fact in there
Snell are now made in China versus Korea. I’m pretty sure that’s how they kept the price the same

Snell golf balls are very durable and play great so I disregard this lab review. Don’t hesitate to buy some. Dean Snell is a small business owner and my kind of guy for having the guts to start his own company and compete with the big guys.

Wow! This ball got really bad marks on My Golf Spy for many abnormalities. It’s being produced in China, because of the fire in their usual plant!

I get a comment like this every once in awhile. If you're coming in for the first time, I understand it may seem that way. But at this point we reviewed over 120 golf balls on the channel. I still have about 80 more to do that have not been tested yet. When you have a pool of that mini golf balls, the details matter. If I'm just general and generic with every single review then yeah every single golf balls just going to seem like they're equal to one another. When you have two golf balls that perform really well and are to really good price point, what separates them? Things like the design, things like the checkup on the green side, things like the sound coming off the club. Those little details separate golf balls from one another. It's what makes my channel stand out. It's what makes the 5,000 subscribers I have stick around and watch a 25 minute review. Because they know I'm going to go through every aspect of the golf ball to make sure I have my t's crossed and my i's dotted.
