- We just got done with Vice. Snell has a ton of competition for the 2024 season. How does the new Snell Prime 4.0 stack up? There have been many changes this year to the Snell Prime, are they all for the better? Let's find out if the four piece offering from Snell is worth the wait!

4.0 is so incredible. I played the mtb-x last year and it was really great. durability was a bit lacking, but it felt GREAT. The 4.0 is an overall improvement and durability is WAY better.
That's what I found too. I know that recently my golf spy had a really bad review for their quality, but I didn't really experience any of that at all. I have no doubt that Snell will still come out on top of the end
I am a 14 handycap. 100mph swing speed. 52 degree 100yrds. 9 150yards.7 about 170-200yrd. 5 about 200-210, drive average 250-275. I loose about 2 balls a round. You are right about durability one round max. Then they go to my shag bag. But with how many balls I loose it isn't a factor. I feel confident that at 200yrds. with a 5 iron the balls will stick the green. Where I find the biggest differance of only playing Snell is how consistant I am 150 and in. With the 4.0 if find shots from from short to the green I use one more club to get longer roll. Astheticly the brighter white is far more appealing than any ball. I can't wait for me to run out of 3.0 for I like the 4.0 so much better. I used to be exclusive ProV1. I play so much better with Snell 4.0 It is within 50 yards that 4.0 helps me out. PePDistance is fantastic.
It performs really well. Hopefully they get the quality issues fixed with the new factory.
Good point about tossing the ball after a full round. That’s the reason I don’t keep any balls that I find on the course; you don’t know how many times they’ve been hit before they were lost.
I see so many people push balls 5 to 6 rounds. They just lose their pop and flight after that much.
I have the tour test pack, hope to try them within the next 7 days. I was very disappointed with the cover wear on last years MTB. However, I've had more birdies with the Get Sum ball than any other balls I've played.
The get sum it's still by far my favorite. Absolutely love that ball.
I would love to see what's inside. Maybe a cut in half added to the test's. Keep up the great work!!

I did try the 2024 Snell Tester Pack - - I liked both golf balls, but had the same paint/blemish issues with both 3.0 and 4.0 - - I think Dean Snell is on to something, but might not quite be there yet with their covers.
Agreed. I heard that they are now making them in China which is why the cover is a little different than last year. It's an improvement but they still need to build off of it
Need an updated review of the maxfli lineup. You talk about DTC, those are underrated.

Actually you are within 5 mph of the low end range of the 4.0. There is an overlap to both sides, which makes sense. You should test both at the ends of the ranges, which shrinks the overall range as well.
Yeah I am a lot closer than I thought. For some reason I had 175 in my head but then turns out it's only 160
Wonder how these compare to the Seed golf ball range, being a DTC well priced golf ball

I used the Prime 4.0 and I can say that the durability is about 1 round. Durability is much better that the Prime X but he is correct that Vice Pro is much….much better than the 4.0. After last year’s Prime X, I went away from Snell and over to Vice Pro. You can really see the durability difference in a simulator. The 4.0 ball’s dimple edges get worn down creating ball flight issues. Be mindful of durability if you are playing in a tournament.

What is the gold looking circle on the balls that you test?
It's a metallic sticker that helps the launch monitor measure spin to the most accuracy
Could you find a higher club head speed player to hit balls? Driver swing at 115 plus. Would really help us lower handicap players
I mean I could try but it would be pretty tough. Finding somebody who would consistently have the time to do 3 or 4 test a week won't be easy

4.0 review at the 18:20 time image shows the Prime 2.0 when you are describing durability.
Thank you for pointing that out to me. Completely my fault. What's really hilarious and ironic is that it only proves the point I mentioned earlier in the video about them looking so similar. Completely mixed up the shots because the balls look the same.

2 yards rollout with 7 iron with mid launch and low spin?
It doesn't really sound correct to me either. Launch monitors aren't usually the best at detecting rollout distance. It's also going to matter what course you play at and the type of surface your golf ball hits
With your smash factor being lower, I don't think it's a golf ball issue. I think you're just not truly squaring the ball up properly.
I'm at 95-97 club speed with driver and can get to 1.50 even 1.51 smash with it. My ball speed is in that 143mph ball speed area.
That is a possibility, with the 3.0 however I was able to get 1.49. with the 4.0 listed at the compression it's less than that, I just assumed it's a swing speed issue. It's intended for 105 Plus
@@GolfBallAddict it could be the ball, I just usually find it being my strike. I'm 95-97 on a Uneekor launch monitor. I use TP5 Pix so that it will read properly and regularly often get to 1.50 and even occasionally a 1.51. The miss hits are the ones that come up much less. Even just a slight miss will get a 1.45+ Next time.i go over, I'll mark up a Snell 4.0 that I game and see what I get out of it.
If people used the Snell last year,and now change to the new one, I think, with the changes, it will be difficult to pick the ball for you.

The quality of the ball is not where it should be, for any of them. If they are competing with the other DTC or bigger brands they definitely have to improve that quality after 100 shots.
However, it they were $10 cheaper I'm all in.
It is nice at the competition is so fierce that little details like this matter. One of my favorite parts about reviewing them
When a ball is priced similar to Vice, the performance needs to be in that league. This ball simply isn’t there.
It's definitely close. But when you're comparing it to the number one ball the flaws start to become more apparent.
