I never would have tried these without your review, and now that I have, I really like them. My durability test includes trees and cart paths and these passed that test. The only complaint I have is they keep getting lost.
I have actually only hit a Vice golf ball one time. I found a Vice golf ball on the 14 hole while looking for my ball in the rough. On the 15th hole it was a 153 yard par 3 over water. I had never heard of a Vice golf ball so I figured I would use that in case I hit it in the water. Just before swinging I jokingly told my buddy that after this shot everyone will want a Vice golf ball. Miraculously I made my first and only hole in one on that shot. I took the ball out of the hole, put it in my bag, and later bought a display case and put it in there. So needless to say, I am a HUGE Vice golf ball fan!
I’m a fairly new player and all I do is watch your videos. I have not taken a single golf lesson and I thoroughly believe my game is progressing! You are the gift that keeps on giving! Shoutout from across the pond
When you decide to go out, these balls are really nice. I've played 3 rounds with them and I will not be buying ProV1 again. Titelist wants $60 dozen now. In the states, Target sells a dozen Vice for $35. Surprisingly, they are less at Target than I could find on Amazon.
Your videos are so valuable to beginning golfers like me. Since so many of my shots go out-of-bounds, it is especially good to know more about the balls I find as I search for my balls. It is important to know the quality of the balls so I can better select which one to tee up on a shot that is likely to end up in the water hazard.
Playing Vice for over two years. My favourite ball. Already bought five dozen personalised Pro plus balls for my Christmas present! Hidden away! Can't wait for the surprise! Oh! Nearly forgot to say that I have never had a problem with scuffing or marking!
@ssjadam I don't see that at all. My swing speed is much higher and really don't have a problem with scuffing. I play Vice pro plus. What do you play? Maybe other Vice balls are not as durable!
This video shows exactly why Rick is one of my very favorite reviewers of any type of product really. At the beginning it seemed like he didn't expect them to maybe hold up and with the initial scuffs alot of reviewers might have held onto it and let it bias the future tests, but he didnt try to find small flaws and nit pick and confirm his initial thoughts, he saw they performed well and let us know!
I've been using the Vice for a couple of years. In the US, when you buy 5 dozen, they're about 1/2 the price of the Pro V1 or TP5. I also find them to be a lot more durable than the Titleist; I find Pro V's get scuffed fairly easily in comparison.
Agreed. That's actually why I stopped using Titleist golf balls and switched to the TP5, disability. I bought a box of the Pro Drip balls earlier and will be testing them over the next few rounds. I'm not crazy about the "drip" paint splatter look but I'm sure I'll get a great idea about performance regardless of the paint. And who knows, it might grow on me. It's definitely different and I do really like (prefer actually) the Pix pattern and Tour Response Stripe balls.
@James Jennings They are great golf balls. I have played several rounds with the Pro Drip and while they don't offer any putting feedback they are a fantastic golf ball! 👌
I played 9 holes with a buddy today and used the Vice Pro ball because he was playing them and asked if I wanted to try them out. I normally play the TP5, which is fantastic, but that vice ball was really nice. I may have found a second favorite ball, and now I’m interested in the Vice Pro Plus ball. Thanks for the review Rick!
I’ve been playing vice for the past 3 years shot a 72 with my first hole in one. 187 yard hole with a 7 iron. Big fan of Vice pro. Thanks for the review
Love this video. I made the switch about a year ago and I love Vice golf. Like every sport, golf is always changing and evolving. I appreciate the marketing and product quality of Vice golf. It seems they know this and are targeting more "blue collar" type golfers. Money should be spent playing golf, not buying the latest and greatest equipment all the time. In the last 6 months these have become available at Walmart in the states. Sure you pay full retail ($35) but it's now become a more easily accessible golf ball. And they have improved upon their urethane cover and made them even more durable. What's there not to ❤ ?
Hey Rick! I started playing golf 2 months back and scored my first ever birdie yesterday. Super stoked! Love the videos you put out! Thanks for the tips and tricks Cheers!
I love the branding approach Vice has taken, selling themselves more on style and design similar to fashion. But on the back of a quality product is winning recipe!

Use the cheapest most durable ball you can find. You're going to lose many and the actual ball makes no difference to a beginner as you cannot control the ball anyway. Strike is king for weekend golfers like us.
The other day I linked up with some good rando gents at my local course. Overhit my gap wedge past a very short par 3 that has a gigantic "greenbelt" area behind it. "I'll be right back", I said. After they had finished putting, I heard them say "where is he, do you think he fell in?". I came out of the brush and proceeded to slowly dump 14 different balls on the green from my pockets. They laughed and cheered and I felt like a boss. Couple prov1's a couple tp5's, some bridgestone's. Basically almost paid for my round!
@@johnnypenso9574 durability is unnecessary for a beginner golfer exactly because of chances of losing the balls, especially if you play on water rich courses.
This is why I love Rick, all the big brands sponsor and pay all the tour pros and golf pros like himself. He could have easily said this ball is terrible and overhyped and keep people buying Titlest and Taylormade. And keep that revenue and sponsorships coming in from the big companies. But he didn’t, he was completely honest, provided numbers and showed that it is a really good ball. Hats off my guy you truly are honest and we all appreciate that
The vice pro definitely do feel much softer and from my experience I was getting a little more spin out of the pro vs pro plus. Love the videos haven’t missed one in years. Keep it up!
I toggle between Vice pro and Callaway superhot, because I suck and need as much softness as I can get. I really like the Vice balls and durability is not an issue because like many of my fellow Rick fans, I can't keep one for too many holes! Thanks for your channel RS.
Thank you for this video. You are right, part of the price of the ball is the Pros signing contract. I saw one video that showed it only gave up 3 yards against the Titleist Pro V series. Love your ball reviews. As someone who is just starting to play again after 13 years, I am confused by the number of balls available. So love the reviews, keep them coming.
I just started seeing them at Target this year. Thanks for testing them! I've been sitting on a doz. of the Pro+'s. I'll start using them this weekend!
Never heard of vice golf balls, however, I have only just started playing and getting into golf. And I have found your videos very interesting and informative. At this point, I cant make myself stop watching your videos

What I really like about your tests, is that your not influenced by any sponsors. I've played the Vice ball a couple of times. Heard it was comparable to the Pro V's. I don't play Titleist, but I did like the Vice. A little shorter than my regular ball of the tee, but still a very nice ball. Thank you for your truthful analysis.

I have hit a few Vice balls. I do like the way they fly and they did help. I'm trying to get better at this game. When I do, I will buy them from time to time! I love your ball reviews. Thanks Rick
By far the best golf content on UA-cam! Thanks for everything you’ve taught me. Many hours at the range with Rick Shiels videos in the background. I would definitely game a Vice ball
I picked up a doz Pro Plus 2 months ago. In my bag are the ProV1x...Callaway ERC Soft...Bridgestone RXS as my top tier golfballs. Srixon Soft Feel and Taylormade Distance are my go to for cheap balls. Now I have Vice....and they are a top tier ball also. At $35 a doz it performs as well as any $50 a doz ball. To me Vice is a better ball than the equally priced Srixon Q Star
Yeah don't know what it is about them. No trees around they go straight and long, trees on either side, its like they are part squirrel! And want to go home!! Lol

I’m sure I’ll end up trying one of these soon when I find it looking for the ball I actually biffed into the woods or a backyard ahah
That’s how I tried my first Vice ball 😂
“Didn’t get a hole in one, so basically that balls rubbish” 😂🤣😂
I’ll have these! Been wondering how they’d perform in your tests.
Very helpful. Enjoy you sharing your knowledge and honest review.
Its ok Rick. Everyone experiments when they're young.
Lol. I like the layers of your joke.
I love how I find more vice balls in the woods than any other brand at the courses I go to.
Yeah don't know what it is about them. No trees around they go straight and long, trees on either side, its like they are part squirrel! And want to go home!! Lol
