      I also think the fact that he changed the story from him riding in the back of the truck to it in the passenger seat, whenever someone changes the story it looks suspicious if it’s very recently after the incident.

      I'm widowed. She was the best friend I've ever had. I stood by her through 13 years of serious illness and multiple surgeries. I was completely gutted when she passed, and it turned my entire world upside down. But...I guess I'm just a walking red flag, by your logic. SIlly me and my "toxic ways"

In the plot, if the insured person dies in an accident, the policy pays double. The novel was based an a true event, and I’ve also read about a few recent cases. In the novel and in real life, all the perpetrators got caught. When I hear of yet another case, I say to myself that the perpetrator never saw the movie Double Indemnity!

      She was wanting to get divorced but not allow him to be financially free from her. She still wanted the benefit of being married to him without any of the responsibility. Alimony shouldn’t exist anymore. I can see how it had a purpose if the wife stayed at home and the husband’s earnings went into his bank account and they divorced when they were already older and she had planned her life assuming they would stay together.
      This case is nothing like that scenario

    I found it interesting that he was diagnosed with conversion disorder. I was diagnosed with it at one time due to stress causing episodes of partial blindness and the inability to talk due to stress. My mom's neuropsychologist said it's a very uncommon disorder.

    It’s pretty rich that she said that he only cared about money, when she admitted herself that she married him because he made a lot of money and even admitted to her colleague that sue was unhappy EVEN THOUGH they were richer than people they knew.
    Having said that, whoever is guilty well know their punishment in the afterlife.

    It's never a good idea to marry a man only three weeks after meeting him, and this man was obviously mentally disturbed, though I'm not sure whether it was PTSD because it's not stated whether he actually went into combat at any time. The death of his second wife in the vehicular accident definitely sounds staged, but at least the first wife had the presence of mind to get out before it was too late.

    Oh the old lunacy of convenience should be a diagnosis in its own category, the fake category, it’s onset can be rapid, can go hand in hand with the onset of a jail sentence especially for a conviction that’s going to make them particularly unpopular amongst their fellow prison occupants, in my experience.
