Years ago, I had a police officer accuse me of hitting someone’s car in a parking lot. I had not hit anyone’s car, and I told him that. He got aggressive and asked if I would come to the police station and take a polygraph. I said no, and he acted like that was proof I had done it. He asked me why I would take it if I was innocent. I said because I had heard they weren’t accurate. He scoffed. Long story short, the guy whose car was hit sued me and lost. 🤷♀️
I'm sorry for your pain. I had a cop ask me if I went pee on myself after I feel into a Marina. I actually flagged him down because I wanted to borrow his phone and call for help. I mean my hair was wet and I almost drowned. Then he's asking me if I pee on myself. Crazy. Then he threw me jail for a night and lied. He said I had a PI. I mean flat out lied. I begged him to give me a breathalyzer and he wouldn't. It's insane what they can do to people. It's flat out scary. And he knew I was poor and would probably never be able to defend myself. 😢
I took a polygraph because a gas station that I was working at got robbed. I had quit for about a week when it was hit, and I was pretty sure I knew and the cops knew who actually did it because she fled the state the day after, but I went ahead and took the polygraph anyways. I was innocent. I have no reason to lie. However, I do suffer from anxiety, and basically anytime they directly accused me of something my response was intense. It was to the point where the person administering the test had to try and calm me down because my heart was racing so fast. Once I revealed that I had an anxiety issue, he said that the results were invalid and that he suspected I had something of that nature because my reaction was so abnormal. So yeah, I don’t put much stock into polygraphs.

"a pseudoscientific nonsense machine"😅 I love it Dr Grande because it's so true. I'll tell you about my experience with lie detector machines. When I was about 20 a friend of mine who worked for a very wealthy man in the Texas panhandle who owns several big ranches there got me a job with him. I was supposed to exercise his horses for him. So for some reason to come on the property and exercise his horses for him I had to take a damn lie detector test. I was curious about this anyway so I took it. One of the questions was, "have you ever s a a child?" I was so shocked by this question that I know I had crazy readings on the machine😂 It made me suddenly remember when I was a little girl in about 3rd grade I had gone to this same super wealthy guy's house in town with the rest of the kids because he always had a fantastic Halloween celebration in his yard. I was very young then and I was enjoying my time out in the yard- the floating ghost, the music, the best candy😊 there he was and he invited me into the house for some candy. We got into the kitchen and I was excited because he personally handed me a Hershey bar, my favorite.😊 Then after this he pulls out a big bottle of booze from the cabinet. I barely knew what that was because my parents did not drink. But I knew it was something bad and I got really bad feeling so I just ran out of there) anyway I continued the test😂 and later they called me and told me I failed the test! I was disappointed but then happy in a way because it was so creepy just to exercise horses. And the thing is the guy was projecting because decades later he was arrested for s a on a child and the town found out he been doing kids all over the place. He had a team of attorneys that protected him all that time because of his wealth He owned half the damn panhandle. I believe he was convicted of s a on a child

I find it endlessly fascinating when people give false confessions while under examination by the police. It's a point in true crime that simply defies explanation, except where the suspect being interviewed becomes caught up in a strange sense of celebrity.
Not that surprising. Many times, it’s a low IQ individual, coerced and badgered for many hours straight by police, alone, not knowing that they can simply leave if they’re not under arrest.. then the police make a statement like, if you just confess everything will be ok. We’re just trying to help you. Under this context, the low IQ person just wants to leave and is under the belief if they confess they can go. Just like Zane, and just like Brendan Dassey.
If a person is mentally slow, have high anxiety and taught to be submissive by parents and society, they will confess just to escape the immediate terror without being able to see the future in perspective, especially when police tell them they are better off confessing.
I really like the questioning at the end that you added. Makes you think critically. Gives us insight into what truly stood out, along with the earlier points. Love these videos Dr Grande!
Dr. Grande is right about a double standard. I as a woman hate when women receive a lighter sentence then a man who was their partner in crime. They could be both equally guilty of the crime but the man will get a stiffer sentence then the woman. It shouldn’t be this way. It doesn’t happen 100% of the time, but it happens way too often. In SA cases, a woman will get a lighter sentence than a man would. There was a case where a woman SA’d a female child with an object before or after killing her. I don’t remember what her sentence was, but it was ridiculously short. She should have received the death penalty, but I don’t remember if she was in a death penalty state. She should have at least gotten life without parole, considering the brutality she put upon that little girl.

Hi Dr. Grande, excellent video. Stabbing a quick death? I am surprised these gals didn't find Rysin(sp). Here in California, doesn't matter if the young couple are both 17. The minute one turn 18, becomes illegal to be involved with the 17 year old. I was 17 years old when I meant my first boyfriend at my friend's church. He was a think 27 years old. My Dad said okay, but told him hands off the merchandise. This man was a perfect gentleman. But, remember this was the 70s. I also saw this episode on ID. Love your new set. As always I learn something new from your videos 😊
At 14, i wasn't allowed to date. I had a few boy crushes. I had school and other activities i did. As much as my dad punished us, we never gave thought to hurt or end our parents.
That’s right. The parents here were excessively permissive and the mom was very unattractive and had no idea how to role model femininity or how to fit in or be pretty on v healthy. And they have no rules on morality. So it’s sad.
No, try to pay attention. She wasn't concerned about the lesbian aspect (because she wasn't an ignorant bigot)but she was concerned about the age difference and the fact that Rebecca was bad news. Were you really unable to follow along with this?
Thought provoking video Dr. G.! I would love to see a video with YOUR opinion as to how polygraphs work and your overall experience and opinion of them! 🙏
obsessive intense teenage relationship..sus internet searches.. ..elaborate bizarre cover stories..badly staged scene..vulnerable fall guy..it was obvious it was them but convenient they made an admission.. ALSO..differences between 14years and 18years is huge at that age.....🐧
The difference is that in this situation there was no chance for teen pregnancy and a much lower chance of STDs so I can almost understand why people looked the other way.
More bad parenting. If a kid is getting bad grades, being bullied, is shy, does drugs, among other things, then that is a sign of bad parenting. Neglect is the #1 most common problem.

Thank you for the sensible perspective and for pointing out flawed thinking (misplaced sympathy for the perpetrators) that could result in a miscarriage of justice.
💯🙏🏽
Good evening Dr. Grande, thank you for your extensive and informative analysis on this case. It is always appreciated 😊
I love the new format. The additional thoughts at the end keep me listening to the very end.
Age difference isn't a problem if the relationship is healthy.
Thank you Doctor Grande. Another example of how widespread disfunctional families are in today's America.
Besties often calculatedly take out the hatred they have for each other on a selected target
Hi Dr.G❤️
Limerence renders you crazy. I’ve felt it before, especially in my teens and very early 20s. I might’ve done some dumb stuff like this if I hadn’t had the chance to grow up and mature.
infatuation is intoxicating
I JUST watched this case on dateline. I like to watch your videos from a different perspective
Thanks Dr.
I would say the reason they look the other way is because lesbianism is considered a protected right.
Thank you for your analysis, Dr. Grande!
Dr Grande working on his Christmas gifts w this vid- so many commercials!
" i thought if i confessed i would get released" lmao wut
Love your videos Dr. Grande.
I am really enjoying the epilogue format 😊 And thank you for pointing out the double standard that older women can be groomers as well!
I think the relationship was ignored because people didn’t give a darn about either one of them!
It wasn't ignored. Did you actually watch the video?
I was really addicted to your old monotone style. Now i am feeling so much withdrawal....
Please bring it back...
Does anyone else just wait for the phrase "exceedingly creepy" when he's describing the traits of criminals?
Thanks for the work, DR. GRANDE is do'in 😊
Has anyone else watched the video of Benedict Cumberbatch saying penguin multiple times? It's hilarious.
wow this shirt your wearing is definitely in the top 3 💜
So many regards in this case dear lord. Shocking people like this actually walk this earth. Making me feel like einstien.
Dr. Grande, I know this is weird . . . but i've ALWAYS thought of you as My Penguin!
2028 is only 3 years away. Seems like that's not a very long time in jail for killing your mother.
😂 no, MY penguin! 11:10
😂😂😂
The most prolific man on UA-cam.
The mother "wasn't too concerned." She's part of the problem!
No, try to pay attention. She wasn't concerned about the lesbian aspect (because she wasn't an ignorant bigot)but she was concerned about the age difference and the fact that Rebecca was bad news.
Were you really unable to follow along with this?
00:30 so many parents looked like that in the mid-90’s.
Thought provoking video Dr. G.! I would love to see a video with YOUR opinion as to how polygraphs work and your overall experience and opinion of them! 🙏
Watching in South Africa.
How couldn’t I click with that title?
I feel bad for the inmate that has to share a cell with that crazy ham beast
Damn, Dr. Grande tell us what you really think about them 😂😂😂! He went IN on them and I was here for it!
Disappointed. Title led me to expect an appearance from actual rabbits. 🐰🐇
the were late for a very important date, but not late enough to prevent a crime.
Sorry, no stovepipe hat!
obsessive intense teenage relationship..sus internet searches.. ..elaborate bizarre cover stories..badly staged scene..vulnerable fall guy..it was obvious it was them but convenient they made an admission.. ALSO..differences between 14years and 18years is huge at that age.....🐧
Your new presentation style is awesome, Doc. I just wish, after all these years, you’d be a little more clear with your opinion of polygraphs.
Thanks Dr. Grande.
I see you switched up the background slightly. I like the new look. ❤
The empty chair Dr Grande - are you planning special guest interviews 🧐
Lie detector suspects!
The difference is that in this situation there was no chance for teen pregnancy and a much lower chance of STDs so I can almost understand why people looked the other way.
No lower chances of getting an std
More bad parenting.
If a kid is getting bad grades, being bullied, is shy, does drugs, among other things, then that is a sign of bad parenting.
Neglect is the #1 most common problem.
I like this presentation. Very good work. personal and high quality. I alsi like this camera angel. 👌 I`n also very fond of your sense of humor 😁
I remember a girl at my high school had the nickname "Penguin". It was not a compliment.
