My guess is Christine's depression was due to overbearing and interfering in-laws and family who completely overwhelmed Christine to the point of psychological suffocation.
Well, clinically depressed people have trouble adequately taking care of themselves, let alone caring for the multiple needs of children. I understand true depression to be a chemical imbalance in the brain that affects a person's day to day life. If Christine were medically stabilized, she should be okay as a mom. If not, this is not an ideal situation. Clinical depression is far different than just being stressed or feeling sad.
Sounds like justice to me. Arrogant and callous thinking that if Christine were dead, they could just mosey up and take custody. They didn’t give a shit about those kids. This was about ‘winning’. Truly despicable and I’m glad they were jailed for life.
Although I am glad that they are in prison, I do believe that what they cared about was the kids. I think that they truly believed that Christine was a monster who was sexually abusing the innocent children. Taking custody of them and keeping them safe in a loving game was their goal. I do think that they were delusional, though.

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A girl whose mother was shot to death by the child’s grandfather at a Delaware courthouse testified Monday that she had never been sexually abused by her mother, had an “awesome” relationship with her - and was not surprised when she was killed. The 13-year-old testified for about 40 minutes behind closed doors in federal court against her father, former optometrist David Matusiewicz; her grandmother, Lenore Matusiewicz; and her aunt, Amy Gonzalez.
If they're legitimate, that's one thing, but if they're just wanting to do terrible things to each other because they can, that's another story. I'm curious as to where David's parents got all their money. David certainly didn't have any, because he also had addiction issues.
Somewhat similar occurrance in Vegas this month. Granddad was terminally ill with Cancer, and killed his Son's ex-wife and her current husband during a child custody hearing, as this Granddad was also his son's Attorney. Son was reported to have been sending ex-wife threats for 2 years.

My son married a woman who was emotionally & pyhsically abusive to him. He could never get police help. Unfortunately he died in an accident before she was finally brought to justice for abusing their daughter who was a teenager by then. She lost custody and it did my heart good to sit in the courtroom and hear the judge finally sentence her. I felt like my son had justice at last. I'm so glad these people did not get custody of the Children.Sometimes sideways justice is the best you get.
What a bunch of narcissistic sociopaths! Christine was the only sane and good person in that crazy family. Cruel and tragic end for a mother who only wished for a better life for her children.
Hi Dr. Grande, excellent analysis. As always I learn something new from your videos. This case is a great example of "The best laid plans of Mice and Men often go aray ".
This case reminds me of the recent murders of Ashley and Dennis Prince in Las Vegas. Ashley was engaged in a contentious custody case with her ex-husband, Dylan Houston. At a deposition for the case, her ex-father in law, Joe Houston, shot the Princes before killing himself. It would be a compelling video.
What an absolutely selfish, awful family. They’d rather those children grow up without any parents, in foster care, than allow them to grow up with their mother half of the time. All of those people are exactly where they should be right now.
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable application of the Felony-Murder Rule. Good work by the Prosecution. And well presented here, Doctor Grande. Thank You! ~TD, Boston
The more I hear stories of these nightmare in-laws, the more I thank God for my husband’s parents. I didn’t think of them as in-laws, they actually introduced me to their son, who became my husband. I just knew them as these super sweet couple who knew I was going through a tough time. I had a daughter from a previous relationship, and they NEVER made a difference between the grandchildren. What they gave to their other grandchildren, they gave to my daughter. My husband I have a son together, and I feel so blessed to have them in my life. They have passed on, and I miss them like crazy.
And now none of them have access to the children as they shouldn’t, so they terrorized this woman ended her life all for nothing! The children were adopted out when I saw this story.

How about analyzing those ladies, the blond twins, that kept trying to get hit by cars on the highway… even after the medical response and police had arrived…
Those kids dont stand a chance with such lowly cretins in their lives. The damage is done. How did they think this crime would result in them ever getting custody? How was Thomas so invested, he was on a kamikaze mission?
Damn, this runaway father of three really makes yesterday’s seem like a model citizen. But they’re both very unusual and interesting cases that I’d never heard of before. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I would say that I agree with your analysis. It is regrettable that there was no one within the family unit to change the course of events. They were cooperative and conrtibuted in the children not having any parents in their life. The problem with victims is that they are not believed when their concerns are voiced due to the rareness of such circumstances. She had a friend who supported her to the end. It takes courage to be a true friend. I hope that the friend's family count her as a hero doing what she needed to do to support a friend she loved.
David didn’t love his wife enough to keep his parents out of their business. My pastor strongly discourages couples of having family members moving with them unless both agreed to it.
The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree with these families where everyone joins in on the crime. Once again kids losing both parents so senselessly!

This touches home with me as I have dealt with evil stalkers more than once and the only thing you can do to get them to go away is to IGNORE them. Easier said than done, but you'll only make it worse by responding. If you're mean to them it'll make it worse and, oddly, if you're nice to them you'll make it even worse than if you're mean. Is this another version of trailer (discarded wrappers) ? Millions will thank you for creating an even more hostile environment for them. Like all of suburbia everywhere. Why not just call a moratorium on all hue amenities till there is only 2 percent left?
That poor woman! How horrible what they did to her.!
Unbelievable - these sick people encouraged each other to do all the wrong things. Why did he have to kill the friend too?
She was in the wrong place at the wrong time?
He wanted to eliminate witnesses.
@@sarah2.017 Hard to do in a public building.
Collateral damage.
Imagine going to college for a decade to get to be an Optometrist and throwing it all away in some horrible cyberstalking case. Pity.
my thoughts exactly! imagine leaving your practice to live in a trailer in foreign country.
Absolutely appalling crimes against Christine and her children. I hope the children are now safe and loved.
Me, too. Those kids deserve the world. At least they know that their mother loved them very much.
...so they claimed she was supposed to be the one with mental health issues..? Wow..Poor lady, her friend and children. Also what's the point of running away to Nicaragua, just to live there in an RV?
This one I disagree with Dr. The sister said “I’m in the plan” the moment she asked for custody of the kids. Staying in Texas and asking this was her part in the plan. The level of toxicity in that family is colossal. They should be locked up.
I'm being cyberstalked. Its terrifying and depressing 😢. No wonder she was so depressed. I feel depressed too. My husband tried to drown me in the bathtub, accusations, exposing secrets. Its horrible. Poor Kristine. This is proof that gangstalking is real. 😢. Rest in Peace Kristine.
Who cares what people say about you? You know it’s not true. It’s to make you upset and angry. F the mind games.
“My husband tried to drown me in a bathtub……..”
Hope you are no longer married!
New phone, move, and don’t use social media at all. It’s incredible how hard people think it is nowadays to go without social media but it’s really not hard. Make yourself untraceable.
Why was the mom allowed to do this from Prison 😂
I'm wondering that myself. 🤔🤨🤨🤨
She probably wasn't giving sexual favors to the guards, that's for sure.
Absolutely insane! One would think those government idiots check what imprisoned people do on social media!!
Oh, rest assured she likely f’d up one of the very few rights they had there - not to mention the damage to her mom of the year candidacy…
I agree, I don’t know why people in prison are even allowed to use social media. They are in prison.!!
This happened near me and we were all shocked when it happened. I felt so horrible for Christine and her neighbor friend Laura who only went with Christine to give her support from her monster ex and in laws. I was not one who thought that it was an over reach. I wanted all three of them to get life without parole. Too bad Lenore didn’t get to serve much time but I’m sure she’s in a very hot place now. I feel bad for Laura because she gets forgotten in this case because she’s not directly related to the custody and was only there to help her friend. RIP to Christine and Laura.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. I live in Delaware and never heard about this case. May Christine rest in peace. I feel that justice was served.
Some say that he fell into a lens grinding machine and made a real spectacle of himself,
Good one😂😂😂
Good one! You're cracking me up!
joke of the year!
I'm guilty of laughing at that. Then I remembered those poor children.
Cybercrime needs to be exposed and penalized before the victim dies. A lot of us are dealing with this type of stalking and it is very difficult to expose and prosecute the perpetrators.
Expose the deeds of darkness, in Jesus name.
This is happening to me😢. Every day I live in fear that either he or his family members will escalate to murder. He's put spyware on my devices.😢. If I want to go anywhere I have to drain the batteries. It's not taken seriously enough by the cops until something like this happens. I see you are a fellow believer in Jesus Christ. Love to you. Please pray for me. The situation I'm in is rapidly escalating.😢
@@Stubbornclarity I 'm saying a prayer for you. Those of us being cyber-stalked, hacked and surveilled will never understand why it wasn't exposed and penalized immediately. These crimes must be taken more serously by culture, as it is happening more and more.
@@anneyoung2310 Thanks so much. I can use all of the prayers I can get. Thank you again and God bless you 💛
What a family of cruel, selfish people.
I hope the kids are okay.
Sometimes family can be your worst enemies. Blood is not always thicker than water.
In this case, blood was thicker…the whole family banded together to murder a non-relative.
You've got that right!!! 😢
The saying is literally that the blood of the covenant is thicker than water if the womb...
@@Andreamom001 Also, they were thick. Thick as thieves and thick as dumb.
What kind of moron throws away his entire career and life to "win." Cause it was never about the kids, the kids were just chess pieces.
@@margodphdI've given up trying to explain in the comments that the saying is the direct opposite in meaning and intention from the fragment of the quote that is constantly being misused.
Same for saying THE Ukraine (Ukraine literally translates to The Border or The Edge, so you're saying the the border).
The other one is the absolute gimmicky bullshit that the polygraph test is. It tests people's gullibility, that's all. This was a contention of mine before we all discovered Dr. Grande's channel.
Christine married into a family of criminals. She didn't stand a chance with those nutjobs. Those poor children. I hope they are in a loving family now.
I found this a excellent biography! It's so refreshing to have a actual person doing narration and our narrater did a great job. I also appreciate that you did not keep showing the same pictures over and over. With so many AI that incorrectly pronounce commonly known names!
Thank you for covering this case Dr. G! There’s only one word for this story; SAD! My heart goes out to the children! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
0:56 You just said "New Jersey" without the addition of a disparaging remark. Everything OK?
I didn't even notice that. I hope he's not having health issues! 😊
@@jkjives1786 We can only speculate...
I noticed that too...🤨🤨🤨😮😮😮
@@emilyburton4095 Looking first at the inculpatory factors, this is the only time he has missed an opportunity to disparage NJ.
There are few things more disparaging than "New Jersey"
Custody disputes can be a dangerous situation.
If they're legitimate, that's one thing, but if they're just wanting to do terrible things to each other because they can, that's another story. I'm curious as to where David's parents got all their money. David certainly didn't have any, because he also had addiction issues.
Finally, there's a modicum of hope toward stopping cyber stalking or at least making people responsible for actions.
If I was living with those jerks I’d be depressed too.
Justice was served, but fuck this is tragic for the kids. Lost mom, dad, aunt, and grandparents all in one senseless act.
Hope the kids are getting the emotional support they need after suffering thru this.
All they lost was their loving mother.
Hope he was disbarred at the very least.
@@FlopSter-i1oGranddad offed himself that same day in that same building.

What a bizarre and toxic family.
Dr Grande's knowledge of "fishing rods" makes me think he's got an awful lot of "fishing rods" around the house. Safely kept, obviously! I sure wouldn't want to be his stalker!
Haha you’re right he sure does, he’s talked about it before
Poor children 😢
If you're willing to murder over the custody of children then you are a horrible human being.
you wouldn't kill for your kids?
People routinely commit murder for far less than that. Yeah, there are a lot of rotten people in this world, makes you wonder.
Didn’t see this coming
People are trash ...
Thank you Dr Grande for speculating on this case. I’ve not heard many of them so I feel lucky to hear about them through you, Dr Grande.😊
There should be consequences to cyber stalking and cyber bullying!
Awry.
So sad for those kids
It was a conspiracy. These laws already exist. Conspiracy is not a theory, by definition, it is a crime.
What an absolutely selfish, awful family. They’d rather those children grow up without any parents, in foster care, than allow them to grow up with their mother half of the time. All of those people are exactly where they should be right now.
Thanks so much for posting another video... a great way to start my evening 🤩
On vacation but had to pop in the catch up with Dr Grande.
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable application of the Felony-Murder Rule. Good work by the Prosecution.
And well presented here, Doctor Grande.
Thank You!

Didn't see that coming
I see what you did there.
😂
In life trust no one, save your trust for Dog and God.
"Save your trust for Dog and God" is the perfect phrase for what Ive always believed, thank you. ❤
Thank you,I learned that the hard way 😢.
Actually... I trust my cat.
The only person I trust in this life is me.
Here we go!
I am on vacation with my dh in Gatlinburg, just ordered and are awaiting our food. Suddenly, i see the notification and exclaim a wee bit heartily, "Yay, it's Dr. Grande!" 😊

Thanks for your analysis Dr. Grande.
How about analyzing those ladies, the blond twins, that kept trying to get hit by cars on the highway… even after the medical response and police had arrived…
He did! ua-cam.com/video/ntM_lJtnvxc/v-deo.htmlsi=mbvw8qhcIfIWCAPm
Interesting case, Doc. Thanks! 👍
I was cyberstalked for years. My ex and his mother treated me the same way these people treated Christine. It was horrible!
What a horrible family. They are all guilty.
I agree with your opinion, they were guilty but Amy not as much. Another great analysis of wacky & terrible people/situations. Thanks Dr G😊💜🤍
Grandpa and grandma moved in.........yeah I can't see how that's going to improve anything
David didn’t love his wife enough to keep his parents out of their business. My pastor strongly discourages couples of having family members moving with them unless both agreed to it.
Love your videos - precise, concise, and insightful!
I was going to say I never heard of cyberstalking resulting in death. Interesting.
The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree with these families where everyone joins in on the crime.
Once again kids losing both parents so senselessly!
Dr. Grande, I'm disappointed that you didn't follow up New Jersey with your usual sarcasm
Tragic for the children. What an absolute horror of a family
I have no clinical experience... Nor would i have the lack of humility to think I could diagnose anybody. I just cannot fathom garnering the support of multiple people, and being so persuasive... That superficial charm... To convince anyone that murder is the best option... What... The hell os wrong woth people
This is sooo funny. One of the pop up ads for Dr Grande's video featured the state of......... New Jersey 😅😅😅
So sad
I hope the kids are okay!
OMG what a terrible case! Poor Christine! This reminds me of the Markels. Same horrible family of people who supported each other in being horrendous and evil
They're evil monsters that have an instinct for victimization of all types. They get off on it. They're wired backwards. Literally wired backwards. It took me way too long to realize this as I should've picked up on it years ago when one of these people would always laugh out loud like a movie villain when I shared my pain.
I was so blind. It's crazy how blind I was. Thankfully, that was some time ago and I'm a completely different person. Better but not happier. Victimizers are the devil. Period.
A place that is near and dear to his ❤️.
Another fascinating video! Can you do the Philpot family from Derby U.K.?
