- How to do an ignition tune up on your 2011-2016 6.2 V8 gas powered super duty truck. This procedure is similar on the 2017-up 6.2 Super Duty trucks as well as the F150 and Raptor with the 6.2 V8. In this video I am using Motorcraft SP-526 OEM double platinum plugs (Paid Links)
amzn.to/3174AQW with aftermarket coil packs from 1A auto amzn.to/2YnZnHF I am replacing all of the spark plugs top and bottom and all of the coil packs. - Авто та транспорт
I about shit when I bought my 6.2 and found out it has 16 plugs 😂. I'm a diehard LS truck guy but my F250 has been the most reliable truck I've owned. Complete shit gas mileage but I'll take a reliable work truck over gas mileage any day Thanks for this video.
16 plugs. Every day, something new to learn.
Thanks for the video and taking the time to make it. Lots of good information.
thanks for taking time to make video, some useful information
Thank You, Your video helped me out today on my 2012 F250 King Ranch with a Raptor Engine. I'll watch it again when I work on my 2014 Raptor later this year. - Savvy
Really great video ! Thank you for being so thorough and efficient with the whole process. Big help for me. Thank you Thank you

Great video clip on plug and coil tune. I have done these on other engines but the 6.2 will be my first with double spark plugs. Thanks!
Good Stuff, Great Tips👍🏿😀 2016 F250 XLT 6.2L Gas Flex Fuel 4W 4D (Stock)
Good job Rod.
Thank you for an awesome detailed video!
Got a cyl2 misfire code on a 15 f250 with onky 25k on it. This vid is def helpful. Thanks.
Thank you for tha GREAT video !
Great video, Thanks 😉👍🏽
Thank you, awesome video
Nice job!
Gives me hope...THANKS
Thanks for the help - I have the same truck with over 124,000 Miles (so due for 2nd replacement- dealer did the first time). I thought the airbox had to be removed no matter what, esp for torquing space clearance on that right side. Cheers
Very helpful. Thanks
Good job thanks for the video
Awesome Video:)
Thanks 👍
10,000 % Thank You
Great video. Thanks for your help!
Hey question jackofallmasterofnone you mentioned on other page that you were haveing a starting and loss of power/limp mode issue did you ever get to the bottom of that
Remove bolt from the engine to the dip stick. It'll allow some clearance
Might want to check the plug torque recommendation. I believe it to be 159 inch-lbs or 18NM (Newton Meters) not foot-lbs. ? Otherwise I appreciated video. I changed all 4 passenger plugs from below by peeling back fender well liner.
160 inch lbs is 14 foot lbs so if you go 18 nothing is going to happen.
Raptor here... 6.2. I’m replacing all shortly
Dude thank you. Ive just been quoted just shy of 4k to replace these 8 ignition coils.
Fucking nuts.
Now i know i can do this myself.
That's crazy
Kind of on the same boat. About to get a quote than probably just replace it myself
Thanks for the video. I watched this video several times. It helped me to install spark plugs and wires and my 2012 f250. I'm looking into replacing ignition coils. Do you still recommend the trq brand coils?
They are still working great many years later !
where did you get the wheel step?!? That looks so useful.
Autozone
Brothe how i need to fix my cylinder misfire 2 where it’s located?
Thanks for the help I will be doing this myself soon thanks to your video … wanted to ask, after 2 years with the TRQ coils no issues right? They do seem like a good deal but there aren’t a ton of reviews to go off of.
Absolutely no problems still to this day.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone awesome, thank you so much for the reply!
why did you replace the coil packs and plugs, but not the wires going from coil pack to lower plug? is there another video where you replaced the wires previously?
The wires did not need replaced. They were in excellent condition.
Those plastic valve cover i have case aluminum covers built in 4-10
The engine in my truck was replaced with a 2015 6.2. Thats why it has plastic valve covers
When ordering the ignition coil is drivers side left and passenger right?
Yes. Usually
How many miles does your 6.2 have now? I'm considering buying one with 200,000 miles, and curious about reliability.
About 200k
Still runs like new
Appear to have the same issue with a 2017 F250 with 67,000 miles. Mine triggers the check engine light which generates the code of P0300 and/or P0316 (random / multiple cylinder misfire detected. Ford quoted me $2500 to replace all 16 plugs, corresponding wires, boots and coils.
That's $+& insane the price they quoted you
How? I paid $1600 for all 16 plugs, all wires, & a transmission flush. This included all parts and labor from ford
@@RebuildableRyan 1600 is insane also.
@@71usmc for tranny flush? 16 plugs, 8 wires? Including parts and labor… not really.
What the coil order
Ford recommend to not use anti seize bc it caused different torque twist than original torque.
How many miles on this truck when this was performed?
Approximately 55,000 miles on the engine, but the coil packs have approximately 180,000 miles on them. The engine was replaced, but the the rest of the setup was kept
@@JackofAllMasterofNone My coil packs are arching on my truck and it has 51 k onnit. I'm going to change the boots.
Looks like I can pull my retired boot pulling pliers back out and use them again after 30 years. Whats old is new the saying goes.
What kind of watch is that?
Garmin Fenix 3HR
Using aftermarket parts on a vehicle is just asking for trouble. Use only OEM Ford motorcraft coil packs, wires and spark plugs trust me.
While back we messaged about the android just turning on randomly and killing battery....yea this isn't the post...LOL anyways after going to 6 stereo shops(experts) and spending fee hundred bucks.... I started looking at components.. I found the bus interface on android head unit was causing it.... somehow Mister wired Mister triggered not sure I put the interface from Crut*&field inline cured problem..... the hard part was wiring that 10 wire unit into a 6 wire harness... I ended up sending that stuff to a fella he built a new harness including the new interface... works 100% holycrap over 350.00 to make it work...... ouch... but I won!!!!!!! LoL
Why would you not take the wheel and liner out, makes it so much easier.
👍🏻
I feel like $500-$1000 isnt that bad for 100,000 miles of machinery lol
$700 my bid plug still waiting thank
Can I just pay you to do mine
How much
Can I buy your old coils?
Trashed a long time ago
Not hard? Lol. Yes it is...when you have arthritis in your shoulders and hands
