10 points awarded to Chris for not pissin himself laughing when you got covered in oil, the look on his face 😅he was holding it in well, then quipped “ I’m alright “ 😂😂
Shame that so many panels are damaged, especially roof and A pillars. Hope that Reclamet came through for you - that would be a good result as the work involved is mega hours. Much to enjoy in this one - love the banter, fellas!
The sign of true experience, watch Chris’s hands replacing the spark plugs, starts them with no ratchet, screws the plugs in by feel and then “nips” them up by experience, and I’d put money on them being within the specified torque.Exactly the same with each coil. If you know you know Have followed you for a few years and can’t wait for the weekly updates
@@johnmoore7825 I would definitely never take anything away from Chris, he’s excellent, but anyone who wouldn’t start plugs ( or indeed any thread) by hand should stick to doing no more than checking their tyre pressures and fluids 😂
Back in the mists of time I was talking to a neighbour who worked for a local bodyshop. He told me about a Humber Super Snipe (yes that long ago) they had in for repair. The only damage was the roof had lots of upward dents caused by the owner blowing his brains out with a shotgun. The bodyshop did a bit of flattening and then covered the roof with black grained vinyl and fitted a new headliner. Job done.
Don't break it. A good bit of content to be had for the viewers on a different difficult job that you boys can knock out of the park. You know yourself you can get a front ended shell from your contacts and give some quality unstitch and restitch videos. It owes you little, keeps the carbon footprint down for the greenies, and will give you a good return
Love to see you guys repair it. Its something different than the straight forward fixes we've been seeing. and a nice moment to touch up on the skills needed for a roof and A pillars :)
My father recentley had a simular accident. Police went to see him in hospital and walked out with his licence. That was the end of his driving days. Surprised the lady is back on the road. Nice little low milage car with some major damage though
I hope you managed to get all the oil off everything. Hopefully you move it on, but I, for one would like to see the roof being replaced, I think it would be very interesting.
Maybe if you can't sell it as is , see if you can get a body shell for it , that would fix your A pillars & roof , dash & most of the interior has to come out to do Air bags & seat belts and then just swap all the mechanical components over , big job but you guys can do it , & I don't think we have seen you do a re shell on the channel before 😀👍🇦🇺
No, I reckon this episode was filmed a while ago. If doors and bonnets are available then so are complete roofs. I reckon Rob will get all the parts for a song and then Chris will make one of his greatest repairs in the history of SRUK U.K.
Sharp intake of breath from Chris. Great one liner when Rob was moaning about being covered in oil “I’m ok, there’s none on me “ 😂 Good breaker with a. Ice tickle in it for you 👍🇬🇧🥂
Roofs are aggro as you say… With that said, you haven’t done one on the channel before, and it would be interesting to see how Chris goes about changing it.
Lots of comments Rob . I think your idea is the ideal way out and just a hint of roof/ pillar damage and insurance companies write them off . But someone with Chris' skills would repair it . Thanks Guys
Hi Rob and Chris, lovely low mileage but had quite a tumble..!! Be interesting to see if Reclamet are interested. (Don't think Chris fancies doing the roof) lol😢 Alex.
@@srukI’m not so sure on that, was Stevie Wonder driving? - that car needs broken - sorry (even at £1750) - likewise anyone want to remove a few trees in Stratford on Avon drop me a PM.
I rolled a Citroen ZX back in the 90s and I can tell you that if there's one advertisement for how much better car safety has got in the last few years it is how close to the correct shape that C3 still looks, my ZX was squished and the a pillars were bent sideways.
Rob getting some free sun cream off the citroen , Factor 0 W 20 😂😂, smells lovely , a lot if work ,but will make a mint car when done and as Rob says , not on the salvage list 👍
Maybe a re shell might be the answer. It’s mechanically clean enough that it would strip down and go back together ok, but I guess the issue is how much is a new shell. With models selling in the £9 k - 11 k mark it might be worth considering, as you’ve got all of the expensive bumpers, trims etc etc. just a thought.
Amazing value but I thought any car thats been on its roof was unrepairable due to bent A and roof pillars! Driver very lucky not to lose their licence. Great channel with such interesting content👍
Reminds me of when we used to go scrambling in Kent, that stopped after one of the kids got broken legs in multiple places. Now they are old and no harm done, kids heal well.
I agree the profit in this one is in breaking really. Engine and gear box with so little miles has got to be worth a few ££ alone. 3 good alloys, front bumper, lights, interior etc etc. I reckon with the engine now running and gear box known to be working with 3k miles on it. Someone will have it off you for a small profit on your part, and you have had a video out of it (with a fairly funny oil shower) 😅
Rob - you haven't lived until you've gone to remove the box from a Ford Sierra, pulled out the propshaft then slipped whilst holding up the back of the box. I honestly had a gearbox oil golden shower! Smelled like cat pee for about a week afterwards!
Maybe something similar will become available with a blown engine and or transmission. The engine itself is worth quite a bit of money given that it is virtually new and there are quite a number of other reusable parts on this vehicle. I for one would not attempt a roof repair on a car of this value as it is a very difficult job even by Chris's capabilities. I don't doubt that he could do it but it would not be economically viable. I rather think that the pair of you have come to that conclusion yourselves.
I like to see this type of repair, it would be something new, I have not ever seen a roof repair or replacement on youtube, and I think it would be a good watch, what an achievement it would be as well. Whatever you do, always interesting and entertaining. Bring back the smith and Jones style jokes also.
A friend of mine had a citroen and someone's dropped something off a bridge and left a massive dint on the roof. I said it's a citroen so the panels will be thin. They brought it round and I literally just sat inside and punched upwards and the dint disappeared almost! 😂
Good morning Rob and Chris, this is going to be a remarkable set of videos if you go ahead and fix it up. It’s a nice looking car. If you sell it on as it is then I hope you get a bit of profit.?Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged

Hello Rob and Chris,it must have been strong wine 😮,for the mileage it is low,you could probably sell it for parts and get your money back.being a Citroen parts on this ain't cheap.
Lovely car , unrecorded , late car , I would repair it and work on it as a time filling car if you took a year on it it’s still going to be a nice profit , good luck guys 👍👍
Hello Chris and Rob, I have never heard of a car being written off - twice!! I think that the breakers can have it, too much bother doing the roof!! Best wishes from Lincolnshire.
Well oiled on the job lol ? Using it for a scrapper is best bet for everyone - good engine and gearboc is top money plus the bonus of front and rear panels and lights. Better less time consuming projects are there to be had.
Rob Adair rushing in to quell the oil gusher there 😁 There's always options on a car at that price even if its just to get out of it. Added value by getting it running and driving.
I think it is a parts car but you have proved that it runs and drives so that adds value to it. I hope they give you a good price Gents. Take care Rob and Chris and thanks for the video. 👍👍
Iirc Chris, last time we had a couple of conifers cut down and taken away at work, it was about £600 per tree, that was about 8 years ago, and we are up north 👍🏼

Chris liked the fact that he did not have to change his clothes. Nice to hear what you get up to when not working in the garage. 😄😄👍👍
Hey Rob thanks to your SR20 discount it made my recent Car Vertical check even sweeter. Everything turned out good - all green indicators just as the garage said they would be BUT there is no substitute for peace of mind when spending a fair wedge!!
