As someone who leans to the right, I was impressed with Ana. She made some solid arguments and my point of view has been changed for the better. Isn’t it amazing what civil discourse can lead to? We have way more in common than we all may think.
Agree. So refreshing and I actually feel I learned something from it thanks to how well both of them explained their points of views with facts and some well thought out opinions.
I applaud the civility and them agreeing with each other when they did have common ground. This is what happens when people talk about ideas, not demonize each other.
Everyone talks about “who won the debate”. It’s not Ana or Ben. America won because we’re finally having a civil debate instead of hating on each other
I think Ben won too. You can see it on their own respected pages. Ben's page comments list his points and good idea's while Ana's is all like they were so nice and they allowed each other to talk.
@@Charles-ij1ow that's because of the difference between the hosts and their respective audience & no, Ana's audience is not only talking about how "nice" she was.
@@samij6071 When you take a look at the comments section to the video of Cenk trying to tell people what to think about this debate, it's filled with the typical TYT fan-based haters parroting the same garbage that Cenk himself spouts. The comment section to this video on the other hand is the complete opposite it is civil as it always should be, vary refreshing and unexpected.
The point of this was to show two people can disagree and still be respectful. Young people pay attention. Us older folks are on our way out. Continue Making United States Become Better.!!
Yep! I remember back in the classic debate with Ben vs Cenk it was Cenk who got hysterical and starting making it extremely adversarial, emotional and personal which kind of then spiralled from both parties thereafter. Ana on the other hand here showed a lot of class, having a good faith debate on the merit of the ideas or issues.

@Antisocial Socialist Man, I lean more right on the “political scale”, but very well said. Our politics in general need a reform. I know this is a pointless comment, but you have the upmost respect from me for actually explaining what your issue is with it and going into depth about it.
Not really, we need informed dialogue....with informed statistics that actually prove shit. This is grand standing and idealism at its finest, which is fine for philosophy, but awful for discussing working politics.
Im a big Ben Shapiro fan but I wanted to come over to the TYT channel to say I really enjoyed the debate. Ana did a great job and I really appreciated the civility. I may disagree with TYT in a lot of issues but this debate genuinely made me more interested in hearing both sides. Great job!
It's how the united states ought to be..I'm not against politics but against the me vs them and strawman arguments both sides normally use.. No progression is made in such debates
Ben shabeebo is an idiot. Not really a serious conservative. He’s more about winding up his audience for clicks and views. He flip flops on several issues and changes with the wind. He is a terrible example of conservative ideology. He is basically Tim pool/Rubin = no substance just all rage.
I have to ask….why? Why are these two people not running against each other for President? Why? Two opposing but civilly conducted arguments from two intelligent, educated, informed and passionate people. How have we come to this place where Harris and Trump are the candidates we’ve limited ourselves to? Why?
She really didn't tho. The only points she managed to make that sounded kinda good, is because she stating myths about how other countries and the economy work while most available data, properly analysed points against her ideas.
@@jsealejandro06 Give an example. You Americans pay roughly 10 times the amount for things like insulin and MRI scans as we do in Ireland and many other first world countries. This is real data. Yes it really was! Some how the people on this thread seem to only want to insult the person the disagree with. We need more of these debates! Less insults, more thoughtful conversations!
I totally agree with Shapiro that Biden won legitimately and I completely agree with vaccinated Shapiro and vaccinated Donald Trump (thank you for Project Warpspeed Trump! 🥰 I love that Trump is 100% pro-vaccine! 😋) that vaccines are safe and work really well to save lives. props to you. that is not always an easy feat taking in all sides. I recommend the Damage Report as they tend to say even the worst things in a light hearted manner and doesn't yell or raise voices (usually) so it's not nearly as stressful as Cenk can be sometimes. none of TYT agree on everything and they revel in multiple opinions
The world needs more people to be inspired to round their opinions. A .British right winger subscribing to TYT......??!!😮. That itself reflects the power of civil debate. Bloody right on, old chap.
Anna's arguments are exactly why entitlement programs should be run by States and not the Federal Government. I'm lower middle class, but I have never, and will never take a handout from the Government. I would prefer to live in a State where entitlements were more strict. It used to be people had some level of shame to be on Government assistance, now it is a badge of honor.
Thanks to Both Ana and Ben for sharing their perspectives in a civil manner that allows both sides to listen and learn about opposing views. This conversation/debate shows that each side has more in common then what media and lawmakers would have you believe.

Although I strongly disagree with almost everything Ben represents, I have to respect the guy for being articulate in a reasonable manner. He does not disrespect those who are arguing against him when I see his interviews or debates. Wish I could say the same thing about the most of the politicians we have, and wish the last few presidential debates were like this. I still dislike him though.
This was a great debate. Kudos to Ana and Ben for being civil and making good points and understand each others. In my opinion this shows that Americans have more in common than "mass media" let's their viewers believe. These kinds of conversations help us be civil and shows that we can come to some common ground and work to solve the real issues that affect to he United States.
A fair point- I've never seen or heard Ana become uncivilized during a debate or on her podcast. Shapiro on the other hand frequently does. He took strides to remain calm this go.
I hate Ben Shapiro’s response regarding Finland. All these right-wingers, ESPECIALLY Ben Shapiro, use Venezuela as a reason why Socialism wouldn’t work in the US. If these people can use Venezuela as a comparison to the US as a reason for not wanting socialism, they cannot complain about using other countries as a comparison to the US with regard to other systems.
Ana did it with such grace. I'm super duper impressed by the ease she portrayed there. Never a fan of Ben, but the way he respected Ana in the debate from what he usually have been, is worth appreciating. Liked the debate.
Listening to Ben complain about having to boat up a window when a Black man was murdered by a police officer taught me so much about him he was. more concerned with his window than. the man who lost his life.

@Sotdjuret Thanks for adding your perspective. I think it's interesting to hear from someone that actually lives in Sweden/Scandinavia. If you have time, do you mind sharing some ways in which you believe Shapiro to be wrong?
Great discussion. See what happens when two people of opposing viewpoints actually speak with each other rather than yell in to their echochamber. I LOVE the idea of the speakers introducing each other.
"Finland is not the United States" What exactly does that have to do with anything? Both countries are inhabited by human beings. I swear folks on the right have this weird notion that there's no point in progress if it wouldn't result in an absolutely perfect solution. By Ben's rationale, the founders should've just given up rather than trying to form a '*more* perfect Union'.
I think it is a valid point. Take China for example. During Covid they erected hospitals in days. Sounds great right? But they have the ability to over work their employees, under pay workers, use underage workers, not follow building codes (which resulted in the hospital collapsing a month later). And on the other hand, they were able to control Covid faster because again, they can force people to stay inside their homes etc. The USA may take longer to erect a hospital because they have to pay a livable wage, follow safety precautions, use building codes etc. They also didn't control Covid as well due to the government not having the power to force you to stay inside. There are pros and cons to each of these examples but it proves that countries certainly can't just do what another one does because they are "inhabited by people". In relation to Finland, it is easier to offer free education or healthcare when you aren't bringing in millions of new people regularly (which adds to the greatness of America) however, limits certain benefits they can provide as well. I lived in Canada with free health care. I moved to the States and love it way more here. Also was treated with vaccines far before any family I had in Canada even my 90 year old grandmother. So maybe it depends on the person, but one glove doesn't fit all
@@DD-rh2sz and those "limits" you theorize - how can you say there are limits to what our country can offer when billionaires are traveling to space for fun? When the richest 1% of the people in the country control more of the wealth than the entire middle 60% combined? The entire middle class of our country put together has less net value than the wealthiest 1%. You could fund an entire federal healthcare system for our country with the spare wealth of the richest one single individual, and he would still be one of the richest people in the world.
Anna really has no clue of anything she is talking about. I am from Europe, from Germany. The "service" you get from government is horrible: There are NOT enough Kindergarten-Places. Going to the doctor in the last 6 years since we have taken in 1-2 Million refugees has become a degrading experience: Doctors are so flooded with patients: they don't a f*** about you anymore. The don'*t pick up the phone, if you come into an hospital with the suspicion of a severe urgent condition they sent you home - you need a transferral from a doctor (so that they get paid more money). Which i told them is not possible friday at 3 o clock because my usual "house" doctor is are already in the weekend. No chance like a piece of meat they sent you home, i needed to drive around the city for hours to find a hospital where a doctor would look at it when i dound a place i waited for 7 (!), 7 hours. If it would have beed serious i would have been to late anyways. And that is happeining in a large "rich" german city. And this is just one story: The health care system treats you like a piece of meat, whether you die or not doesn't matter i have seen ambulance doctors debating with doctors where they should book the patient to get more money (!!) and how misfortunate it is that they booked it like that that conversation was going on for 10minutes with a patient in an ambulance!! Then they drove off to another hospital (!!). The left has really ZERO idea what they are talking about when the talk about europe. Otherr countries might be better, but germany that took in 1 Million sysrian refugees turned really to a nightmare in the last 8 years and it makes me angry listening to this total uninformed marxist fantasies of Ana. GET YOUR INFORMATION RIGHT, your socialist fantasies are turning to nightmares and refugees are a HUGE problem!! If you are not a paying customer, you will be treated as a piece of cattle, there is no dignity in socialism....
What an embarrasingly xenophobic comment. As a fellow german, I am truly ashamed by your ignorance. I have my own gripes regarding the amount of refugees that are coming in but you take it way too far and you make it clear that your complaints are not based in reality. Ärztemangel is a real problem but you are evidently unaware of the actual causes. Even suggesting that your own personal hardships concerning not being able to get a doctors appointment that suits your schedule are somehow being caused by refugees is beyond ridicilous. Just goes to show in what kind of a fantasy world YOU live in. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about and it is typical for the incompetent to project their own incompetence on other people. That's why you accused Ana of being clueless. All you did was throw personal anecdotes around and call our country a nightmare when that couldnt be further from the truth. I can give you my own anecdotes if you like: My sibling is a doctor in the emergency department at a hospital. You cannot imagine the amount of people who come in with minor boo-boos and waste precious time for the doctors and real emergencies. People coming in with a little cold or a child that has thrown up but is obviously fine. They are not allowed to send them home without looking at them, that's why these people make those doctors furious. They hold up everything because they only think about themselves. That's why I don't buy your story about a "severe urgent conditon" they send you home with. You're probably vastly exxaggerating if not straight up lying. And in case you didn't know, we do not live under socialism. I advise less incoherent ranting and more reading-up about actual issues. Perfect example of a Wutbürger-comment. Everything you said can be boiled down to: "Me angry, me stupid, me hate refugees." Schande über dein Haupt.
Lol, just know how utterly stupid and privileged you sound lol. Your argument basically boils down to: "I had to actually WAIT for the doctor BOO HOO, my BOOBOO is hurting Mommy." To even be critical of the treatment your getting is like a billionaire complaining about how their Yacht, a f*ucking boat, wasn't as fast as the latest Jet fighter plane. With people like you, no matter which country, it will inevitably head straight to ruin and turn into a 3rd world country. Good luck getting your booboos healed by a doctor then...

His way of talking is called a gish gallop. It is a rhetorical tactic used by some to overwhelm and confuse both the audience and thier opponents. It's hard to get a word in edge-wise because of the machine gun type of delivery. This also makes it harder to refute them. If you are not ready for it can seem like he has won, since it's hard to keep track of and respond to all his points.
Coming into this I thought: Ben is in trouble. Ana is just as fast a speaker as he is. Uh oh Ben. Someone who can keep up. Something Ben isn’t used to.

I am livid whenever I hear any Democrat or leftist talk about health insurance or the price of healthcare because MY FAMILY HAD GOOD HEALTH INSURANCE BEFORE ACA. Once the democrats passed Obamacare, the price of health insurance SKYROCKETED for us to higher than our monthly mortgage payment AND a huge deductible on top of the premium making it totally out of our reach. My children are now uninsured because of democrat policies and then they still use it as a talking point! Please, democrats, stop trying to save us. You’re killing us!
Yeah I don't know about you, but the average premium contributions for people who receive health insurance through their workplace have skyrocketed since 2016. So maybe you're an anomaly because for most people the ACA worked wonders. Also, may I remind you that there are people who need insulin to live and *even with insurance* they have to pay $1,200-$1,400 every month for that insulin? And may I remind you that the Democrats tried to cap that cost at just $35 a month, but the Republican senators who have deals with the pharmaceutical companies so that they get lots of money and power are the ones who voted against this? You should know that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have people's best interests in mind. Only their own interests.

What a WEIRD claim to make... Ben Shapiro saying the US is a better place than Finland, Sweden, Norway, because their life expectancy and their wealth is greater when they have moved to the US. This is an absolutely unsubstantiated claim, obviously. But also... OF COURSE, it is. Because people from Finland, Norway, Sweden are vastly higher educated and will not come to the US to take part in the American poverty. They wont come to the US to have to deal with American sub-standard healthcare, education, or social issues. They will only come to the US if they have extremely well-paid jobs that they can go to. The US is a perfectly fine place for Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian people to work in if they are making big money.

Reading through the comments section, the biggest problem is the absolute tribalism from both sides. It's my guy or girl won, they destroyed the other person, etc... That's what has us in this mess! There is common ground, and that's where u start from. There had to be an effort made from both sides to try understand in part what the other side is attempting to communicate. The problem with that is that it takes effort, and a lowering of ones defenses. We are just splitting apart as a country, and if we want to come back together, everyone needs to back down and make a better effort on truly communicating.
Everyone talks. No one listens. No one is willing to compromise or concede. The divisive mentality won’t even allow each side to acknowledge when the other makes a valid point.

The other opportunity that Ben missed was pointing out that corporations are just conduits. They exist to provide a desired service or product, employee people and provide a return to those who took the risks to start them or own them. That's capitalism. It is fool's play to assume that there won't be inflationary consequences to increases in corporate taxes.

Translation - No systematic racism does not exist unless we are talking about how the past affects the present in which case systemic racism does exist except in the case of my strawman argument where Ben claims people blame racism for every problem.🤡

Refreshing to see a political debate that didn't devolve into who can shout louder personal attacks. Ana is such a gem, and even though I don't like or agree with Ben Shapiro, it was nice to have his opposing views presented civilly.
if there is something you disagree with that shappiro says... i hope you disgree not out of feelings or a perceived sense of fairness or entitlement, bur rather on a more pragmatic or useful level. it's ok to disagree... but if you disagree your disagreement has to make sense in a stronger way than shappiro stated,
@@ricklazio7923 To me Shapiro's arguments weren't really good arguments and a lot of half-truths or just not factual at all, but I think it's good to have more open conversations like this so that opposing views can be laid out, and perhaps viewers can be better informed by having both sides of the argument instead of just one side that might be not be telling the whole story. Perhaps people who usually agree with Shapiro might hear an point that Ana makes and think, "Huh I didn't know that", or "I never thought of that." I am livid whenever I hear any Democrat or leftist talk about health insurance or the price of healthcare because MY FAMILY HAD GOOD HEALTH INSURANCE BEFORE ACA.

Preach it! No one truly listens to what someone says. They don't agree with a point someone makes they quit listening completely. Or if a friend says I don't like that person. So you automatically don't like them either. How sad. Instead of finding out for yourself you just blindly believe everything you hear. How about just figure it out yourself. A lot of people are starting to do that and are finding out they have been doing that very thing. The news media lie to us. We aren't getting what actually happens, we get their agenda only and take it for gossple. The new media isn't what it used to be. It's part truth that's twisted into something it isn't.

When she pointed out the tax issues with companies he didn't really debunk this. His tactic was to use whataboutism compared to Europe. It's a clever tactic to divert attention and not directly answer the question. Note that BOTH of these people are financially tied to certain ideologies and if either championed more center
ideas they would LOSE MONEY by losing sponsors, subs and views. This problem is BUILT INTO our capitalist system so you can't have truly independent journalism in this country unless you are a group like PBS. And even them could be influenced by who donates to them.
that is a reason she is controlling the conversation. The more she talks, the less he can show her up.
@@4thphaseofmalaise Cable news channels was the worst thing that ever happened for journalism. Everyone can dial into the "news" program that supports their views and marginalizes or negates the other side. And it is fueled by generating viewership for advertising reasons.
All increases in costs are passed along to customers because corps have to make money to pay for these costs and reward those that took the financial risks. Its the same as saying that social benefits are free because the government pays for them. No, we pay for them and it is proven that increased taxes and social benefits do not generate economic growth. They are a drag.(hello Europe?).
