I’m a hardcore live sound engineer of 26 years and metal bands love my mix without fail. This is indeed an excellent mix! Every single board mix video is incredible. Phone recordings, eh. I do always feel the bass is a bit buried though, even on the albums, but I’m also a bass player, so,.....yeah a little bias. Jean-Michel c’est magnifique et s’amuse toujours! Groove masters without being a rehash of every other band. To me they are like Sepultura, in that they are purely original in sound yet are an amalgamation of all that came before. In early 90’s, when you heard Sepultura, you knew immediately even if you had never heard the song. Same with Godzilla. Gojira is supposed to be the original Japanese pronunciation of Godzilla. "Recorded & mixed by Johann Meyer", he's the engineer who works in their studio. I agree, dude killed it! Sounds live but everything's pretty damn clear.
this is one of those live concerts that i keep coming back to on youtube. The vibe is so freaking good with the dark blue constant smokey stage and absolutely perfect performance. I saw them live at graspop in 2016 or 2017 and that was in the afternoon so unfortionatly i didnt have this amazing vibe going on but man they were just as perfect. Freaking insane good band.
The double bass on L'enfant sauvage with the light effects and the wall of screens displaying the album artwork in black and white is simply breathtaking. Wonderfully done, such intensity, incredible ( 46.14 ).
I do love how good the band sounds, but I feel like the crowd feed is there the WHOLE time. It's fine it still sounds awesome, I just feel like there's a subtle noisiness to it because of it. Maybe that was intentional or not avoidable? Who knows!
I came across Gojira several months ago from a long hiatus from metal. I think this is quite possibly the most unreal, talented group I have ever heard.
giving in to the world dominating plan to subjugate each and everyone into a one world government system is what this is about. Going to a concert where everyone got their mandatory pharma vax is not fun, and defies the purpose of "we the people" and our metal music. fuck this. im only ever to go to a show when we all revolt against the most obvious agenda ever and win. then we taste freedom that we deserve. i wont kneel to no government that has not our health in their interest, but their control over us.
i'm disgusted how far they came in their attempt to seize control. Now, even big clubs in Berlin where I live are being sold to Amazon for example. The big guys take control. It's fucking over and i'd rather die than accept their rules.
there's been a doctor here in germany called Stöcker who developed his own antigen that can be vaccinated. Guess what? He's being sued. meanwhile shitton of deaths are reported from the mRNA vaccines. It's a giant shitshow.
So many great bands out there, who make me laugh, cry and shout... But only a few provide so much quality in emotion as these guys do. Thanks for being you, and doing the things you do! 🤘
Can we all take a moment and give Johann Meyer some love for this amazing mix from a live performance? wow! Also Bryce Hall did some pretty bitchin video work. This is one of my favorite live performances for audio/visual badassery. Also.... damn I wish I was there.
@@johannmeyer big props to you! Technically, Gojira is nothing special, except for the drummer. Being flashy for the sake of being flashy is kinda pointless tho. This is not a sport. Song writing is where they're definitely nailing it.
Orbit Culture, Jinjer, Spiritbox might would have a word about it. Not saying you're wrong, just that there's a shit ton of great modern metal bands. I would also claim Myrath and Airbourne for the title. Fuck all the people saying that "metal is dead." It's not, not even close.
@@Iamfromswee I agree. The Contortionist is probably my favorite band, but dude! Gojira! The energy, technicality, and songwriting is on another level.

Mario and Joe are what every brother dreams of being! The way they get the crowd so damn hyped is hard to do! Gojira is just on a different plain of existence from most popular metal bands like Slipknot, Slayer, and Metallica even! Gojira is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with and hopefully will be remembered for generations! Fly high with the whales Gojira! (Not like they’re dead or anything)
I've been listening to Gojira for two months and wonder where the hell I've been before. It is a band that evokes the magnitude of the human being. I don't know, something higher. They were in my country and the tickets sold out in a few days. God save Gojira!
Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas le solo et les quelques morceaux des rappels, mais qu'est-ce que ça fait du bien de revoir ces images. Concert gravé dans ma mémoire, ce show, cette scène... Merci les gars, du fond du coeur
I can't believe how the first time I saw these guys live was in 2009 in a nearly empty venue (I was a huge fan then, but apparently ahead of everyone else) and now these guys play these massive fests. It's so awesome everyone caught on to what an amazing band Gojira is! Every album they've made needs the listen and respect it deserves 🤘
It can’t be understated how incredible these vocals are. I know singing and screaming very well and this is without a doubt the hardest thing to do vocally. A powerrasp/scream and he’s mastered it really well. The old screamer for mice of men did that a lot also. Very difficult to achieve
The first time I saw Gojira live was in a small club in Switzerland (in the mid 00's). Already at that time, without light show, without big prodcution, the band had blown me away by its energy. And many years later, the band still amazes me.
Such an intimidating and euphoric wall of sound. I can only imagine watching this live, I would probably be okay with dying after the show. I hope they visit SEA soon!

Just saw them at House of Blues in Orlando FL and can safely say it was the best sounding and produced heavy show I have ever seen/heard. They are unreal.
I'd heard about Gojira some years ago, but somehow never gave them a chance. When I did, about a couple of years ago, they weren't my cup of tea; it was too "proggy" for my taste, and too machine-like (I was mainly into melodeath). I could see the depth and complexity of the music, but still no. For some reason a couple of weeks ago I watched a song played live (the heaviest matter of the universe, or the art or dying, I think) and I was magnetized. I had seen other live videos of them before, but now something clicked. I was watching these guys and I was suddenly in awe. I've been listening to their work for these couple of weeks, and it feels like I've fallen in love. I hope to see them live some time, when things settle.
@@stratuspheremusic I mean it's kind of weird, I was indifferent before, and now I'm fangirling, almost. I normally wouldn't have a favorite band because I enjoy different styles of metal and (music in general) depending on my mood; but these guys manage to conjure such strong feelings from me, I believe the only other time I felt like this was when I first started listening to metal, with Metallica. And don't get me wrong, there are a few bands that I love, but this one seems special somehow. P.S. Sorry for the very long text and thanks for the support ^^
When you see them live, forget about listening to anything else for at least 6 months! I was similar, liked them for a decade, only when I saw them live that I ended up loving them. It just all clicked together.

this is one of those live concerts that i keep coming back to on youtube.

Shit, Gojira's sound engineer is the real mvp here 👀🤘🏻 what a sound.. And what a band. By far one of the greatest 👌🏻🤘🏻
I was there, I have a 25+ years experience in rock shows, i never seen that before :°
I'm listening with headphones on...shoving them as deep into my ears as I can.
I do love how good the band sounds, but I feel like the crowd feed is there the WHOLE time. It's fine it still sounds awesome, I just feel like there's a subtle noisiness to it because of it. Maybe that was intentional or not avoidable? Who knows!
@@Esanderson114 it was probably intentional, but it does sound weird. Cutting the crowd put of the mix is definitely possible though.
The intro told me this is gonna be a sick show. One song in and impressed af!
I came across Gojira several months ago from a long hiatus from metal. I think this is quite possibly the most unreal, talented group I have ever heard.
When this covid shit is over I need to see these guys.
I'm in pain when I watch this.
giving in to the world dominating plan to subjugate each and everyone into a one world government system is what this is about.

They've played some of them in this live. But maybe they don't show them on this video because of futur live album
So glad you did not give up
