There’s people who love their job and then there’s Gojira’s bassist
Yeah, that's one happy man. Good for him.
Damn right !
im a bass player too and im like that in my bands practise. The ohter guys just sit or stand like idiots :D
It's a big contrast with Joe who is always very serious
Don't like this guy. Looks like a hyperactive kid.
This is what you get when you have a band that has been playing together non-stop ever since they met each other. They are unbelievably tight.
Only gojira and pantera have ever had it.. No one else. It’s one thing to play well in the studio but this kind of ”effortless” accuracy live is something that requires a lifetime of training and chemistry.
You know it’s gonna be a killer show when the crowd has a huge circle pit kicking up dust before the band even comes out.
Fucking circle pit to the intro, nuts!

So fuckin true same was for me
Saw them open up in Kansas City in 07 with Machine Head, Trivium, and Lamb of God. My brother and I got there early and hit the bar at the back of the club. They came out to Flying Whales, so that slow intro started right after the lights went off. They all come out lookin' like Metallica from the 80's, all in black and wristbands. We started walking up to the stage and that shit hit... it was like we were walking in to a wall. There's no describing it. I was instantly hooked. There were a lot of memorable moments from that show, but to this day, my brother and I still talk about the first time Gojira hit us in the face with sound. No lookin' back since.
Can’t wait until I get to experience that.
The mix on this and all their live stuff is absolutely absurd. The audio engineer deserves a damn nobel peace prize
Well, the organizer of this festival was actually nominated to one last year 😅 (btw this festival has no tickets)

RESPECT for polish people, AMAZING how they live metal music. I bet Gojira members will remember this concert forever.
No doubt. That had to be their biggest to date.
It is not that much about the nationality as about the fest itself. It's Polish Woodstock festival. However, they had to change the name of the fest last year. It is the biggest open air free festival, no tickets, hence so many people. And it actually doesn't matter if it is metal or reggae concert. There is no other place like that in the whole country, it is an enclave of real freedom. This is our sacred place and we celebrate each concert there that way. We warmly invite you to come and be happy with this extraordinary community we have there. The fest takes place on the Polish-German border on the first weekend of August. If Gojira wins the Golden Spinning award in the voting of Woodstock fans, they should come again to receive the award. This is how it usually works with Woodstock. However, big foreign bands rarely come for the award.
Yeah, we're kinda hyper people at the concerts, however no comparison with Japan or South America, for instance. These folks there are maaad!

@@Shompenify1 too bad you're able to see only the one near the stage, I can assure you, there were two or three other walls in the crowd that didn't fail 🤣
+1 for faithful to records, good to hear !
Totally Agreed👍🏼🤘🏼👍🏼
Music, sound, lights, performance, crowd, stage... possibly one of the best mix ever. I’m impressed.
Saw this band in Brisbane AU last week, absolutely MASSIVE and i mean M A S S I V E stage presence. The music smashes you in the face, and its AMAZING. If you haven't seen them live you are missing out!
this mix is insane. the guitars are crisp, bass is audible, vocals insane. its just amazing
That fucking crowd though. When a band sees that much movement they feed off that too and play even harder. Love it. As a crowd should be.
Looks like a crowd from the 90's. No phones, just mosh. Impressive. Great show from this fantastic band.
Best band.
@@Fhkctjv one of them yes
Respect 💪
Faith in humanity, restored !
They are polish fans from Polandrock (ex Woodstock) ❤️
In our country (Poland) we have this amazing festiwal for 25 years. Its totaly free and this main theme is peace love tolerance and music. We invite you sooo much. ✌️
I know, my English is not on the great level. :p
Not many bands can make a whole fraking crowd dance as we metalheads do...mad respect do Gojira! New fan!
Not gonna lie, this is the best live video ive ever seen
exactly
48:50 My goodness, that gave me chills. Never heard him do that sort of vocal before.
ICrucifixI whooo !!
wow!!!!
Since I heard this now I want to hear more of those
Had on this on repeat since seeing your comment, such an epic vocal passage
If the new album contains vocals like these, its gonna be killer
The heaviest band of the universe!!!
dude no h8 but this statement is so wrong
I try to make a choice between Gojira and Meshugga for the Title
People might not agree they have the heaviest sound, but lyrically Gojira hits me hard. Way of all Flesh or Born in Winter is some crazy shit.
Code Orange - you're welcome.
@@goldgojira6101 This Emptiness hits hard too.
This guitar tone is really on point.
18:50 gives me chills
Let me praise the production as well. The people responsible for the stage and light designs deserve an award. It´s just beautiful.
Fred Duba This!! The lightshow here is one of the best ive seen in a long time
AND afterproduction. This is a well edited video.
The thing that amazes me the most about Gojira is that they don’t have a single bad song in their entire discography
Yeah right?! I created a playlist of all my favourite Gojira songs. I ended up just putting every single song of them in there
KillTheSource me too lmao
I first thougt there were some, but I listened to them some more times and ended up loving them(mouth of kala, indians)
@@skorp_1253 Saaame!! The Mouth of Kala was especially one for me that I didn't like and now I love
Adoration For None. But that's all that comes to mind
I've watched this many times, and the one thing I can't get over is the beauty of this live version of Backbone. Joe added all these pretty melodic vocal touches you don't hear in the album version, and it's wonderful. I almost love this live version more than the album version
Can you believe that 500 people don't like this masterpiece of a live show?
Jebac ich!(F*ck them!)😸
They should be skinned alive!
Des fan de myllene farmer 😂
It’s like their own version of Seattle 89’
Same
Except less cocaine, and not as good. This is a great show all around, but it's no Seattle. Too much post-production to even be in the same category.
tru
well said dude, well said
Nah Gojira's Seattle 89' is The Link Alive
Love how the first thing they do at the end of their set (@1:16:17) is go and say hi to the fans at the front and thank the security guard.
Class acts all around.
Seems like they do that at every show, they played in India once when they were a bit popular and the guitarist came to the crowd in front and shook hands with people. I was there too.
I have the real feeling that this is one of those performances that fits in the Whitesnake Donington, Maiden's Rock in Rio, Metallica's Seattle, Pantera's Moscow, Van Halen's US league...
Which Whitesnake at Donington? Not 1990, surely…
@@thecoderofyoutube indeed
"The Shooting Star" live is an awe-inspiring experience all to it's own like no other. I can only imagine what it must have been like there when they played it.
I was in the crowd that day. Didn't know Gojira before and it was pretty spontaneous. After like 10 minutes I realized that they were actually pretty good and the show just keeped getting better. Together with the overall atmosphere and the crowd I would say that this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The entire festival has an atmosphere that you don't see that much nowadays. Barely any phones at all and everybody is just living the moment. Definitely worth the 450 km car drive.
Is it really free? Can someone who's not from Poland go there too? I need to go there next time. The crowd is nuts.
@@borngeek Yes its free, everyone can go there
What a treat to find out about them live. Been a fan for years and haven't had the chance to see them. Lucky!
borngeek it doesn’t matter where you from. If you live in Europe plain tickets are cheap and just be there;D
thats how they get you
There are as many mobiles in the crowd as there are wrong notes played. What a performance. From a Swede, Poland f*****g rocks !!!
The people locked in arms during Explosia, headbanging at the same time is bad ass
Ladys and Gentlemen, one of the best Bands of our Century
If you go in Gojira's channel you'll see that whoever is the main admin for the channel liked some minecraft videos, Gojira is great xD
The weird thing is, these minecraft videos are German
@@paulzimmermann6711 what are this guys up to? xD
I didn't see that, lol. I can't imagine being that person who put minecraft video and getting a like from Gojira... Mind blown.
