We are excited to finally share our Live at Red Rocks. Captured 3 years ago, May 11th 2017, on our US tour with Opeth and Devin Townsend Project. An incredible memory for us in a breathtaking landscape. We kept this baby under our belt this whole time waiting for a special moment to release it.
Fun fact, this was Gojira’s 1,000th show.
After witnessing the disintegration of our Summer Tours 2020, we thought it was a good moment to give a little something away before getting back on track. We are currently working to re-schedule a tour to take place next year.
We are not yet in a position to confirm shows but hope to have more news for you in the coming weeks.

Those drums sound brighter than my future, unreal sound engineering
I think the same
It's Red Rocks
All the brightness
Mario Duplantier is an absolute GOD among men!!!
And they would still sound brighter, even if you were the son of a Russian Oligarch.
Happiest bassist in metal. Dude always has a grin on his face, love it.
Shortest hair and yet he headbangs the hardest...
You should check Gorod's bassist (another French Metal band)
Wolf Hoffman lead guitarist of the German Heavy Metal band ACCEPT is always smiling and jumping around. Love seeing musicians have passion for the music.Long live Metal Music!
Yep ! i bet he's like "Putain c'est carrément jouissif de faire partie d'un groupe aussi exceptionnel !!
Needs to start a band with the drummer from bullet for my valentine
this is one of the greatest metal concert recordings of all time
I was at this show with Opeth headlining.. it was one of the most beautiful concert experiences I've ever had. The moon was red and on the horizon behind them while they played. They played a beautiful show and it was kind of hard to watch Opeth afterwards😂
@@TapsNapsSnapsI love seeing opening bands blow the headliners off the stage, especially Gojira!
@tzt1182 This show made my wife become a fan of metal concerts. All other types of concerts are kind of boring now🤣. My wife suprised me with meet and greet tickets for the Gojira/Mastodon tour this year. They trade off each night on which band finishes the show. I like Mastodon, but luckily Gojira closed the show out and I got to meet them! Caught a drum stick and a pick as well because we were front row on the rail. My only complaint from this tour was that the setlist left out some of my favorite songs. They seemed to remove some of the older/ heavier (better)songs and replaced them with newer/slower tracks from the Amazonia album.
Wish they would have played
L’enfant sauvage.
Glad they played ocean planet
They did! 38:55@@anthonypolson3248
The fact that I can listen to this on headphones and it might as well be a studio recording… fucking incredible
It was an amazing show. I didn't realize they made a DVD (I meant youtube video) until yesterday😂
They are actual wizards. I saw them live not long ago and it was genuinely witchcraft. They’re not human.
@@christofts857 but actually lol I recently saw them in Detroit and there just aren’t any words
@@TapsNapsSnaps We're you able to find a place to purchase the DVD?
@sundaybmx655 I misspoke because I'm now an old person. I meant to say youtube video. DVD 🫠...check me into a retirement home. I did get to meet and greet Gojira this last year and was front rail the whole show. Definitely a life goal that was accomplished.
Mario Duplantier is such an underrated drummer. Dude is fucking lethal on that kit.
Wdym underrated? Hes nominated for one of the best metal drummer

I haven’t seen such a hungry, ferocious band bringing this intensity in a longggg time. These French boys were EXACTLY what metal needed at EXACTLY the right time
It’s incredible to think they’ve performed at this level and higher for over 20 years now too, Fucking legends. We aren’t worthy lol.

I was present at this show and let me tell you, Gojira does not play to you, they play through you. They absolutely stole the fucking show too.
must have been awesome
So was I. They absolutely crushed Opeth that night
@@kolbelasher6883 opeth and gojira on the same night? we dont really get that kind of line up insanity here in the netherlands

@@kolbelasher6883 OH MY GOD REALLY?! I literally clicked this video after watching a Devin Townsend concert!!
The bassist oozes charisma. He's fully into what he's doing.
totally agree… he reminds me of Cliff Burton (RIP) from early Metallica..
They might be louder than Ramstine
I thought that there were only two things you could ooze: puss and sexuality
Jean-Michel always gets into it and goes as hard as they are heavy, like he plays and performs like he's the happiest person playing for the entire world having every bit of fun that's humanly possible.
I was watching an old _The Way Of All Flesh_ vid the other day and even back then when they were only playing clubs he was fully in it.
Holy shit, i never knew Gojira was so heavy. This is my first time listening to Gojira, no joke.
This is insane how good they are. I'm more of a Metallica guy, but this is a masterpiece.
Exactly.. same here...
its funny you say that because i first heard them when i saw them open for Metallica in 09
Welcome!!!
You can realy hear their foundations lie in bands like Metallica and Sepultura but they sounds nothing like. One of the few new bands ive gotten into since the late 90's. Gojira is A true next level evolution of heavy metal.
@@Blitzyduder well said, i agree.
The smile on Christian's face at 7:29 as the crowd roared... what a feeling that must have been!
I burst into tears when I had a crowd of about 1000ish screaming for us, I can't imagine THIS
Silvera sounds absolutely MONSTEROUS in this mix. I dont think there is a better live band out there than Gojira when it comes to a quality perspective.
Fuck you’re so right
Agree bro....fucking love it. The whole mix is insane.
Maybe Pink Floyd :D
Meshuggah, no contest.. Gojira sounds tight and amazing as well, but Meshuggah is a different beast
It sounds (and looks) amazing! Opeth might be a worthy competitor.
2 things to add to my list before i die… See Gojira in concert, and see a concert at Red Rocks..
Saw these guys in about 2018 in KC in support of Slipknot. I was excited to see Slipknot and didn't know about Gojira until that day. They stole the show ... Their performance rocked!! So much so, that I almost got bored of Slipknot about halfway through their set...
I’ve seen them twice in Sacramento and Chicago, they are 100% worth your time and money. Hope you get a chance to see them soon
Did you catch them this year? Sooooooooo good they're my favourite live band ever now. Got to see them twice in the past 2 years.
Listening to Gojira always feels like landing into some strange planet or seeing something majestic, always stunning
or sailing the ocean full of giant sea creatures 😅same vibe in mastodon

To be this hard and yet sound so melodic and clean
its fucking unreal
Thanks to sound designer and engineering. Tons of FX on voice and guitars.
I really love the false start. Joe seems genuinely sorry for the screw up. And Mario takes advantage and hypes the crowd up with his sticks. Just a great moment.
It low key sounded sick lol
I will die happy when I eventually see Gojira live
Saw them in Mexico. It was the heaviest show I've ever been to.
I get to meet them in Kansas City in 3 days......my wife suprised me and I will forever be grateful for it.
They came through my city years ago. I was lukewarm to Gojira at the time so I didn’t attend. Now that I’ve come around to them I’m really hoping they come back near me and play
@Robodude_0528 Their setlist is quite a bit softer this year. They removed a couple of the heavier songs and added some newer tracks. Still amazing....but I'm there to headbang!
Haven't been to many shows in my life, but I saw them at the start of Mega Monsters w/Lorna Shore & Mastodon, and I could have easily and gladly died happy that night 🖤
The breakdown in "L'enfant Sauvage" in this live version/mixing is one of the greatest things that ever happened in music, hands down.
Could not agree more; it's become my favorite song of theirs.
When they did it in Poland in 2018 it hit like a freight train
Correct 🔥
it's surely fast as shit....
Absolutely godly.
When Live is more powerful than Recording...
Only Gojira. .\m/
In a day and age when it’s difficult to differentiate one band from another, here comes Gojira with a unique genuine sound; few bands in history have achieved that.
I 100% agree with you. And the drummer's ability to mix things up and play different time signatures multiple times per song is just next level.
@@brandondanna4227 I’m a drummer myself, and I enjoy his drumming a lot, quite an inspiration.
Here comes Gojira? They have been around for 20 plus years. New for you maybe.
@@1848revolt I've known them only for the last 3 years and I've been a metalhead my whole damn life. Just stating a fact isn't being rude. Nowhere did I say they've been around for 20 plus years, moron. Now that's rude.
23:29 such an epic moment. Joe passionately singing in the center of the stage, the lighting, the. Zooming out to the huge crowd. Just epic
I can’t get enough of this video. Mario is absolutely amazing on drums. The best drummer in metal by far in my opinion!
Best drummer in the world. There is nothing this dude can't do and he never misses a beat.

Holy moly - that locations is absolutely stunning and a perfect fit for Gojira! Would have sold my soul to be there.
If you ever get a chance to see a show at Red Rocks do it!!
I was at this show. One of those moments that you never want to end....
I’ve been there..twice
Seen Gojira over 5-6 times
I NEED to see them at RED FUCKING ROCKS haha then I can hike pikes peak all hungover the next day and try to hand feed a deer 🦌
Honestly the greatest venue for concerts I've ever been to!
Not only was it a great Gojira show but Opeth was the headliner. what a show. I feel so incredibly grateful to have been there. It was in May and it was chilly and windy. I watch this now along with garden of the titans {opeth} and tears stream down my face.
Sometimes find it hard to believe I saw them in Glasgow playing to maybe 300 ppl and they blew me away. They're definitely not playing to 300 anymore. Amazing band.
Wow congratulations that’s so cool.
Dude.. Seriously same here I seen them in 2008 at a small club in Albuquerque with Car Bomb. After that they played much bigger venues.
The introduction of flying whales is the best introduction ALL TIME for all the kind of music. This drum and this whales song give me chills AF
Pray is just...I mean,.... just when I thought Toxic garbage island was the best song...they finish up with this one..epic beyond epic...the ending is just really great...props as well to their immaculate crew to keep the machine rolling for these live gems...great visuals..sound perfect...how?? Hard work I would imagine haha
man, i'm coming back just want to listen this epic ending song
Just saw them in Atlanta a few days ago. Best live band I have ever seen and it's not even close. They're a once in a generation talent.
That Rememberance outro is just such a gem.. On this perfect mix it's bliss
Mario is an absolute machine!
Joe sings in this concert like his life depended on it, as if he was about to blow death himself away. Some of Joe's notes in this concert, coupled with the cinematography, damn near bring a tear to your eye. These guys are the definition of phenomenal.
These guys are at a level that is almost incomprehensible. The drummer's double bass drum work is spectacular, the way he shifts rhythms and tempos, it's mind boggling.
I’m in my mid 50s and these lads remind me just how exciting, challenging and enjoyabke metal can be!😊
The Shooting Star during this set is one of the best live performances of any song I’ve ever heard. Just stunning.
The sound quality here is phenomenal
Mario stamina is ridiculous. Long live Gojira
And mind you, Red Rocks is 7,000ft above sea level.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw these guys, in a crowd filled with people who had no clue who they were, second opening act. I knew, and assured everyone that they had no clue what they would witness. Gojira utterly crushed the crowd with the weight of their presence. Unbelievable.
Never gave Gojira a chance (for wtv reason). I'm only 25 minutes in and it sounds like I've been missing out on a lot great riffing. These guys kick ass.
This needs to be released on vinyl and all other formats.
Joe's vocals sound amazing
Seeing these guys live is an absolute all out assault on all your senses. Every fiber of your being will be shaken to the core.
That girl caught that drum stick. The happyness on her face brought a tear to my eye amazing
How can anything be this good?
Say with me, WE NEED LONGER GOJIRA CONCERTS
Right????
This is why Gojira is one of the best metal bands on the planet.
Mario Duplantier has revolutionized drums, but we have not realized it yet.
one of the most incredible live performances ive ever seen
As a Colorado musician,
I’ve been fortunate to play drums at this venue many times and there is no other gig like it. It’s a spiritual experience on both sides of the stage. You and the crowd are just locked. The sound is incredible.
You’re looking up at ramp of people as far as you can see with towering rocks on each side. If you ever have the chance to see a show there, do it. And Gojira is the most perfect band to see there.
One of the best drummers of all time
There will never be a better rhythmic breakdown sequence than on Remembrance 37:36
The mountains and the forest in the back is one of the most metal backdrops IMO
Pretty sure I could listen to this every day and not get sick of it. How is Gojira not talked about more often?
One of the best shows I have ever seen. Mario is the God of Drums.
I wa at this show.. Probably the best show I've ever been too especially with Opeth headlining! So epic!
Opeth live is amazing.
By the time Opeth came on it was so freakin cold! That was my 1st show at Red Rocks and it was incredible.
doesnt it suck having to be on slopes and rocking out? look tough not being able to just move around and dance and mosh
But I'll bet Opeth was sweating a wee bit having to come out and follow THIS
Wait someone had to follow this!? Yikes
My first listening of Gojira. I must to say that the rythm section (drumm anda bass) is one of the best combinations ive heard in metal. Guitars, nothing to say, very good too.
This performance is proof that magma deserves to be up there with their other albums
The power of the drop in Flying Whales is serious goosebumps shit!!🤘🤘
I'll never buy anything from any company that interrupted this with a commercial. 😂 What an amazing show. Love Gojira!
I was getting so annoyed
They sound monstrous here! Also Joes voice on The Cell was fucking MASSIVE
That outro is by far the best thing I've ever heard. Ever.
Until grind outro :-)
Gojira raise the bar so far. Best metal in ages. Ripping music, messages that matter and they f$%#^ing shred live. 🤘
Indeed they do
This band's vibe is about 100x bigger live than on recording. I never really got the hype around them until I started watching live videos. Arguably the most entertaining and organic metal drummer since Danny Carey.
organic is a great word to describe him. He has the groove, the pocket, the chops, the technique. I mean, his way of writing drums is from another world
@@NoisieBastrdd "Another World" ! haha
For the first 4 years of my eldest son's life, he's only ever seen daddy head banging to Gojira with his headphones on. Today my wife accidentally flipped the switch (no pun intended) and the sound from the TV came belting through the lounge. The reaction from him was one of pure shock and then excitement. The proudest moment of my life was when he started head banging with me in unison. Music for life! Thank you, Gojira. We love you.

As a filmmaker im so heavily in love with the camerawork and the grading here, its brilliant like a concert-movie
I wish the cuts lasted longer than 0.45 seconds. These quick cuts give me ADHD. At least give us 5 seconds on a shot, allow us to be present and experience the scene for more than a heartbeat.
@@michaelbogutzki4623 this was a thing many people criticised about the Rammstein: Paris film, edited by Jonas Åckerlund, it was also cutted in a very high frequency cause it was the directors idea of how to translate the feeling of a Liveshow, where so much happens that u cant watch everything at ones, into a movie.
Here interesingly the high frequency didnt jump into my eyes right away like in the movie I just mentioned, but I see what u mean, nevertheless I was very pleased bu the camerawork and the colours and so on😊

Holy fucking shit Pray's buildup before the breakdown was sick
mario's drums sound so beautiful
Literally started crying at the end of Pray, it’s my dream to see that live!
Gojira is the first band I've gotten into this heavy since the days of Metallica, Megadeth and Sepultura. I mean they are on a non-stop revolving playlist,i just cant stop. This is exactly what the next generation of metal should sound like. The influence of previous mentioned band is clearly audible in their music yet they sound nothing like them. The riffs are just so fresh and heavy, so aggressive yet musical, the drums are so fucking good, the bass hard hitting. The vocals diverse with lyrical content so befitting the times.
I kind of miss the awesome guitarsolo sometimes but the breakdowns , switch ups and outro's are so damn hard hitting you don't even notice they hardly play solo's. I guess I also really like its a band where the singer is also the rhythm guitar player like previous mentioned bands. Plays so fucking tight! They are just great, love their evolution in albums where you can hear they don't just keep playing the same old stuff like a one trick pony but age and grow up and play the music they want to instead of just pleasing a hardcore fanbase.
If you dont know them than check out Orbit Culture
I definitely hear Morbid Angel riffs. As in ”what Morbid Angel would die to sound like”. Metal masterclass!
Me too, just found them this year and I'm totally sold!!!!!
The bass is mixed so well
Man. Energy level off the fucking charts!!!!!!! Love these guys. I'm sitting at my PC rockin out and sweating as hard as the performers. Damn!
It’s not often they do the full version of Flying Whales, I’m so glad they did it for this
23:16 - 23:47 Fuckin' best moment ever. This song, this emotion !!!!!!!!!!!
If Metal was a university, this would be the Master's course.
I don’t believe that this is live. Not only does it sound like the recording but they also perform it so well. Joe’s vocals are brilliant
This is the most epic location I´ve ever seen a metal concert taking place

I never really gave Gojira much of a chance until now. What in the living hell was I thinking? Excuse me, but I need to go kick my own ass now...
You have permission
Ditto. Found 'em a day ago. Ears are bleeding now. 💀👍
I just gave them my first real listen to yesterday and now I am hooked... What was I doing???
I think Gojira kind of has that effect on people. For me, I wasn't listening to a whole lot of metal from 2008-2013 other than Tool and maybe Deftones who aren't pure metal bands to begin with. Then I started to come back around but thought 'meh, not into them.' The I smacked myself in the face when I came across The Gift of Guilt live at the Brixton Academy and straightened up real fast😄😄... now their one of my favorite metal bands ever. They are so. Fucking. GOOD.
You and me both. Where the hell have I been??
Call me a loser for never hearing this band before. But I am absolutely blown away by the guys. They r so unique with their sound every band member rocks at there position and are highly talented. I was driving when I heard them on liquid metal giving me chills not many bands get me like that . All as I got to say is rock the fuck on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nahh, I'll call you a winner for discovering them. Doesn't matter when, and later just means you have more music to dig through!
I think what makes them sound different to a lot of people is that they're a French metal band. There aren't many of those that have made it to such a level on the international scale.
Make sure you listen to their first album
