well... guess I'm in now, just bought your Drumeo / Alesis E-kit bundle!
After 30 years of listening to Metal and being amazed by the skill of all these drummers (Mario Duplantier being one my all time favs), I finally crossed the Styx thanks to you!
Needless to say, the learning and practicing road ahead is completely frightening, I only hope I will have as much fun "playing" as I have watching these amazing musicians.

This is only something that can be done with drums. If you change the guitar parts then it becomes unrecognizable but you can change the drums and it still remains the same song but different.

Beyond seeing how creative these musicians are in experimenting across genres with tunes they’ve never heard, I appreciate that their admiration for their fellow drummers trickles down to the viewer. What this series does well is that it imparts the importance of listening to numerous genres, especially when learning an instrument, to learn the nuances and many styles to play. It’s cool seeing these drummers get turned on to new music but what tickles me more is the thought that viewers who are maybe stuck in their own genres get exposure beyond their own comfort or interest level and see musicians representative of their own tastes absolutely slay something outside their wheelhouse. This series fosters curiosity in and respect for all the genres out there. I’ve never been disappointed or bored by a single one of these videos. Please keep them going!

A lot of the songs that have been featured in this series have clear rhythmic structures even with time signature changes, the rhythm remains clear. Gojira, especially in this song, don’t make it entirely obvious where you’re supposed to feel the beat, especially on the chorus part, so to learn this in two takes essentially 90% as good as any drummer could be expected to is OUTRAGEOUS! Jake killed this, and this should go down as a contender for blind take of the year. Incredible choice by the staff too!
