🇫🇷 C’est après s’être fait renvoyer de Metallica en 1983 que Dave Mustaine décide de créer @Megadeth. Il a alors un objectif simple et clair en tête : « voir couler le sang de Metallica », rien que ça. Une soif de vengeance qui engendrera quelques-unes des plus belles pages du thrash metal. Joli coup du sort.
Entamée en 1985 avec Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!, la discographie de Megadeth compte aujourd’hui une quinzaine d’albums. Le dernier opus en date des Américains répond au doux nom de The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead! et a été publié en 2022.
Même si un esprit revanchard a longtemps animé Megadeth, la hache de guerre semble avoir été enterrée lors de la tournée commune des apôtres du thrash metal que sont Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer et Anthrax (aka les Big Four of Thrash). C’est donc un Dave Mustaine en paix avec ses démons - mais pas paisible pour autant ! - que nous retrouvons sur la scène du Hellfest. Branchez les guitares !

🇩🇪 Als Dave Mustaine 1983 bei Metallica rausflog, beschloss er, Megadeth zu gründen. Dabei hatte er nur ein einziges Ziel vor Augen: „Das Blut von Metallica fließen zu sehen.“ Ironie des Schicksals: Sein Rachedurst sollte einige der schönsten Erlebnisse des Thrash Metal hervorbringen.
Die Diskografie von Megadeth startete 1985 mit „Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!“. Heute umfasst sie 16 Alben. Das jüngste Werk der US-Amerikaner heißt „The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!“ und wurde 2022 veröffentlicht.
Obwohl Megadeth lange Zeit von Rachegelüsten getrieben waren, scheint das Kriegsbeil für eine gemeinsame Tour der Thrash-Metal-Legenden Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer und Anthrax (aka The Big Four of Thrash) mittlerweile begraben worden zu sein. Dave Mustaine ist auf der Bühne des Hellfests also mit sich selbst im Reinen - deshalb aber noch lange nicht friedlich. Auf zum Angriff der Gitarren!

The comments on the live stream are despicable comparing Dave to Hetfield and making fun of him. Dave had throat cancer and faced numerous obstacles and he's still up there giving it his all - not to mention the technical skill of being able to play these riffs AND sing... Cut the man some slack, he's amazing.
these armchair musicians sitting in their parent’s basement always for some reason need to be disrespectful. Dave has been doing this longer than a lot of musicians and he is still cranking it out. Much respect for the man.

Honestly Dave sounds pretty solid here. After what he’s been through that’s all you can ask for
Dave really kicked some on Kick the Chair! Of course not as flawless as it was back in the day on Blackmail the Universe tour, but I was surprised.
And Skin o My Teeth sounded pretty balanced in terms of volume after that, cool.
I personally thought, he sounded not good at all. But when we remind ourselves what he's been through, I guess that's the best we can ask for

Tuesday in Tilburg it was the 2nd time since 2009, I got such an adrenaline rush to hear this masterpiece finally live that day
In live blood and water in 2008 they played too, and is better than this live, search in UA-cam
Have seen Megadeth dozens of times since '83 and while Dave has had issues with drugs and cancer and even age, he sounds really good here. Huge Metallica fan but love Megadeth, room for both, makes for a better musical life. Different bands, man. Really miss Kiko but Teemu is sooo good! No loss in Sonic Impact. Respect, all day. 🔥🎸🤘

Megadeth is so energetic with the current line-up; rhythm section by Dirk and James is pumping, Teemu has mastered all styles of previous lead guitarists, Dave is Dave so good in rhythm guitar. Saw them in Tilburg at 013, really crush the world with this amazing setlist. Good to see the godfather of thrash metal, he is still at the top.

On les a vu à Paris cette année , c’était un concert incroyable. L’énergie en live est ressentie x 1000 et c’est vraiment un groupe de scène. Dave a retrouve légèrement sa voix depuis l’année dernière et il se bat donc bravo à lui

I disagree. Teemu has passion and energy when playing the guitar and transmits that essence to the public, for me he has been one of the best choices of the band. I think Kiko was not wrong when recommending it. He and Marty have been among the best, without detracting from the other guitarists who have participated in Megadeth; each has given the best of themselves, but Teemu Mäntysaari is awesome

I met Megadeath in 1992 at a music launch party for Countdown to Extinction at the Museum of Natural History in L.A. open bar with food, meet and greet, pics with Dave and the band. It was awesome. Good times 🤘

Killer set. First show I’ve watched with Teemu and it’s awesome. To my ear the last dude was always playing the old songs just a little wrong, talented as he was, but Teemu is dead on. So nice to hear less mid tempo stuff like sweating bullets, hell yeah.
Dave is a mad genius, to see him still playing, and singing effortlessly is amazing.
A credit to this mans diamond will. I couldn't mimic a fraction of his skill, and I've played guitar for a while.

I understand why some continue to pit Megadeth with Metallica but the reality is that both bands have proven themselves to be unique and not competing with each other in spite of their early discord. Dave Mustaine is a great musician and an amazing song writer. The band sound clean and sharp. It's ok to like them both. There is no need to choose one over the other one.
Many of these songs bring back memories of my youth. What a wonderful performance and excellent lineup!

First time watching Teemu play the Tornado solo. Which is the benchmark of megadeth fans,lol. He does pretty damn good here. Cool to hear Kick the chair as well.
I never understood why people hold that solo in such high regard. I think there are much more challenging solos from their catalog.

He’s just insane with his playing. It’s so effortless. Personally I think this is a better lineup with him in it. Relax, it’s just my opinion. It should be interesting to hear his playing on new Megadeth material. Looking forward to it.
