Hi Mic. I hit that button before I have seen the video. So mu trust in your work. Mic I really have to ask. I am A guy from the Netherlands and loved to do jobs like that. I have seen that you are very handy with your hands asweel with you mind. What I do not understand is this.
Why do you wait for him to do the small jobs like pinholes ect. You know how to aply Putty on a metal sheet. If you could do this yourself you don't have to wait for Ron. I know you want to have your paintjob slik with double S🤣Yes I know you work hard the both of you and you also need some time of. Think about it oke? Lori can sand like a profesional.

Your patience is amazing. Hard months of getting jacked around by the painter and the shop sucks but, you are in the only place on the west coast who has the knowledge and spirit to get your build done correctly. You kids are amazing together much love and my lord does it look amazing!

I was shocked Robert never had you over for Christmas. I guess after 9 months everybody is getting sick of each other.. Still unlikely any other shop owner would let you live on site . Merry Christmas to you guys as well. Its July 2023 here. Lol
After a few years
All that painstaking bodywork is reflected in how great the paint looks. Unfortunately patience in a project of this magnitude is tough. You have devoted so much time and energy to this that every delay seems unbearable. I'm loving the highly detailed nature of your videos. I had a 1964 VW van, no side windows, I loved it and wish I never sold it!! Thank you
After 62 episodes, and I have seen them all, it is starting to come together and look like something. Going to be amazing!!

I think it's amazing you stuck through it all this time living at a shop, but man that bus is spectacular. So much attention to every detail and I know you said 9 months wasted, but seriously I don't agree. You have learned a ton and you are part of the volkswagen community for life because of this series.

Mixing paint is an art! When I mixed my '57 Chevy Turquoise Paint for my R/C truck it was a nightmare because the paint goes inside the Lexan body and has to be lacquer. There are actually FIVE colors in it! I've done "touch up" paint on my family's cars and mine for years and metallics are a REAL PITA! Mom broke the front corner light on her '72 Pontiac Catalina (Brasilia Gold) in the mid '70s and I made it look like it never happened!
Oh man crazy... that paint situation is difficult!

Wow! Your patience is really being tested. But.......the ugly duckling is slowly turning into a beautiful swan. I was thinking about 2 things while watching episode 62, 1: the song "It Never Rains In Sourthern California" ( not true) and the saying " Into Each Life Some Rain Will Fall". Mic, youe really blessed to have Lori in your life. There are not many women in this world that would live in an old VW bus for so many months, not compalining and just enjoying (apparently) the journey to achieve your dream of "Kona the Bus". Hello Mitch and Lori from Australia! I came across your videos by chance researching for a possible Kombi purchase in the future...so I've been working my way through them one by one from about episode 10 I think. I need to go back and watch the earlier videos now as I've reached the end! I want you to know how much I've enjoyed your mammoth body of work so far. I have some experience in restoring VW Beetles and also Citroen cars so I know what it's like...preparation is everything. Your frustration with delays and lost time is perfectly understandable, but this time together will never come again, so enjoy the moment and think of all the great stories you'll have to tell in the future. I've had a change of career thanks to the pandemic and now work for myself after 30 years with another employer. I have tough days second guessing myself, wondering if I made the right choices or whether I measure up to my customer's expectations. Watching your journey and seeing how you push through inspires me to keep going...I want you to know that. If I'm feeling low I just think "what would Mitch do?", pick myself up and get on with it! So thank you sincerely for being my inspiration. Sending love and best wishes to you both. I can't wait for the next episode and seeing that final coat of paint go down!
