I watched the whole video because you gave me the 4 reasons within the first 30 seconds of the video and didn't make me sit through a bunch of random talk first, and I appreciate that.
Thanks man, I like to get to the point because I don't like to watch drawn out videos with fluff either. Having said that, some of my videos do have too much fluff but I'm working on correcting that. I will eventually do a review of the toothbar as well when I get some seat time with it.
I'm in the market for a tooth bar, and your video helped me decide which one to get. I will be making my purchase this end. Thanks for another great video, even though it took me a year to watch it.
Ha, David no worries on it taking a year, glad it was helpful to your decision. I think many of the others are just fine too, it just depends on what you want out of it. I didn't want to super aggressive HH one, it probably better at rooting and some other jobs, but I still wanted to back drag and still essentially use it as a bucket, just a better bucket. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to watch the Review Video I made on it too.
Really happy with mine also, and I put it through its paces digging into dirt with a lot of rock that the previous property owner buried. The bar is still straight and a tight fit to the bucket.
I picked the heavy hitch tooth bar. I believe they both work pretty well however as someone who does a lot of back dragging and using the tooth bar on the same job it was a lot easier in my opinion to loosen up the allen bolts and pop off the tooth bar where the piranha tooth bar looks like it’s a lot more work to get it on and off and different tools. There are eight or more hex bolts that come off within 1 to 2 minutes. With the piranha tooth bar I would need to carry a few wrenches. I also liked the reach offered by the heavy hitch tooth bar adding almost 8 inches to the bucket.
I think they are different tools really, but with the Piranha, I don't need to take off the bar to back drag, that's the beauty. Because they aren't 8 inches long and they are more numerous, 17 versus 8 I think, I simply leave it on. I will say that the HH would likely be more beneficial at ripping up roots and similar tasks. I can do them with the Piranha, but I'm assuming the HH would be more ideal. As far as length, in some cases, I believe that is a disadvantage for storage and dumping stuff in my pick-up bed. The 53" bucket is already extended compared to what I was used too and I almost didn't get the Piranha because it just made it longer. I have also heard from several HH owners that the hardware gets a lot of crud and dirt in it, which makes it difficult to get in there and take off. But I've also seen some guys mitigate that by pouring wax in the holes so they just pop out the wax and don't have to deal with the dirt. Thanks for watching.
It's pretty quick to remove the piranha as well only being two bolts which don't get packed with dirt. I carry a few hand tools on board anyway. Don't need to remove it very often though.
I wanted one of those but took a couple months for customer service to answer my email questions. I got tired of waiting so I ended up with a wicked tooth bar from Everything Attachments for my 3039R. They answered my questions right away and set me up. Little more money but I am happy with the quality and performance. It is made heavier than the pihrana tooth bar also.
Man, that stinks, well it appears they may have fixed their response times, maybe you were the catalyst for that improvement. The 3039R is one of my dream tractors, of course, before I'd be able to own one, I'd need to get my dream property.
@Jim Fisher Regardless I am happy with it and it seems well built. At least I got good customer service unlike pihrana. I am not nocking their product,I'm sure it's good.
Good video. I’m waiting delivery of a 2021 JD2032 and have been wondering which tooth bar I would go with. I like this design too and another advantage, and it’s a huge one for me, just 2 bolts and it comes off if I need it that way not, many clamping screws. Your video helped make that choice. Looks like a Piranha for me
Yeah, I've been wanting to do a review, I love the toothbar, it's been a great addition. I wasn't sure at first about back dragging, but it hasn't hindered that at all.
The thing I like most about the Heavy Hitch is when my teeth wear down I can replace them. When this tooth bar wears down you have to buy a whole new bar. Just my opinion. Great video thanks.
Terry, you are right about that, I wonder what the cost comparison would be between the two, sounds like a future video:-). I imagine both bars will last a good long time, but the HH would have the smaller, more incremental replacement cost I suppose.
@@FloridaDeere I know the HH is pretty expensive. I just bought a new one and paid $650 Canadian. Not sure the cost on a new set of teeth but my guess is its probably not cheap. So even if you did wear your Piranha bar out and had to purchase a new one the cost for both may just equal out. I really like the piranha, I think it will do a better job cutting roots. I live where the soil is very hard and rocky so I think the tooth bar is the right fit for me. Like you said they are made of very hard material so who knows if we will even need a replacement. Time will tell. Yes it sounds like it could be a great video 👌
@@terrymcgillicuddy8056 Thanks man, and thanks for watching. I'm a fan of the Pirahna, but I'm not against the HH and didn't think of the issue you mentioned until you raised it.
No man, I've used it for many things including a little digging, but the loader is not really a digging tool in my opinion because of lack of depth, but I did use it to bury my dog, so it can be used for that. And I do plan on doing a review video at some point.
I just checked and it says you would need the 53.25" bar if you have the 53" bucket, which is what I have. Some 1 series come with a 49" bucket, but I believe that is unusual. Thanks for watching, I hope that info helps.

Great shirt it rocks! I went with Heavy hitch, but was close on Piranha. I take mine off and on depending on the job
I love my tooth bar! Had it for about 5 years now and it’s well worth it!
First thing I bought when I got my 1025R. Great add on.

have you ever replaced pinned on teeth like that when they're a couple years old and the pins are filled with crud and rust?
perfect welds no splatter
Sucks I can't get one in Australia also Top shirt lol
Subscribed! Good information.
Cool, thanks for watching.
i have one on my 1025r like it
Just back dragging in this video? Can't believe you didn't show it's main purpose...to dig!

I have the john deere 1023e and can't figure out what size piranha tooth bar will fit? What size did you pick for ur 1023e
