Hi Dwayne! It sure is! I really like that I can clear and area, roots and all with the Piranha Tooth Bar, including small trees. Of course, I expected it to make digging much easier, but I had no idea how much it would improve back dragging. Thanks for watching!
They’re great for sure! I’ve only taken mine off once for a specific job that needed a flat cutting edge. Easy to take off and put on. Thanks for watching!
I just purchased a Kubota LX2610 HSDC. I had previously watched this video and already had determined I would add a Piranha tooth bar to my bucket prior to using it. The only dilemma was that on their website they strongly suggest measuring the inside diameters of the bucket and not use the specs from the tractor company, so that is why I waited. My order was submitted the same day the tractor was delivered. I received my tooth bar in 4 days even though it stated a 2 week lead-time. I experienced a similar issue with the length of the bolt size. I contacted their technical manager and he sent me out a 1/2” longer bolt to make fastening easier. I wasn’t able to get the second lock washer installed and the bolt wouldn’t bite, even with clamping. I appreciate you doing this video and I had my tv on in the garage and used this video as my installation guide. Thanks Martin and love your content. We are definitely like minded!!! Keep up the good work. Steve in Austin Texas Hill Country. 👍👍
I have watched this video a couple of times . I have watched several other and compares tooth bars. Honestly you sold me. I ordered my tooth bar yesterday along with some large hooks for my chain. Thank you for explaining things so anyone could understand. 0:23
I bought one of these for my L3301 525 bucket Kubota probably six years ago. I have been impressed. It is rocky on my property and I have used the heck out of this bar. It has worked awesome and held up great. Its hard to believe it doesn't have more wear on the teeth than it does. Increased the use of my bucket many times over. If It broke, I would buy another tomorrow. I have no affiliation with them. Just want others to know what a great product it is. Get ya one. you wont be sorry.
Just received mine a few days ago, (2 months later) tested it today for a few hours, I am very impressed with it!!! Night and day difference compared to the original bucket edge.

Thanks for another great video. This bucket bar really improves the amount and ease of work you can do with a smaller tractor. I feel the price was fair.
The Piranha tooth bar was the first mod that I did on my L3901. It makes the tractor a whole new machine! I never take mine off. Move gravel, rocks, whatever. Never had any issues unless I run my leg into it! Enjoy.
Hi Frank! I sure wish it was one of the first mods I had done to my L3901! I’d have gotten a lot of digging projects done a lot quicker. Yep, I’ve heard others warn that the tooth bar can bite people too. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. Very useful information. I ordered this tooth bar for our new Kioti CK 4010 and it came in yesterday. We’ll install it when I work off nights.
Nice video. That looks like a really good add on accessory. And your voice takes me back to being a kid in the 70s and 80s watching all the nature and education shows. lol
I have ordered a Piranha tooth bar for my Massey .Watching your video makes me think that i made the right choice and i cant wait till it gets here along with the thumb .Thanks for showing us what that tooth bar will do and how it improves what all you do with your tractor.
I ordered mine back on March 29th. It’s been a long wait. I’m guessing it will be another week or so. I have no doubt it’ll be worth it. Thanks for your instructional videos.
Just had my Kioti tractor delivered yesterday. My dealer didn’t have one of these or I would’ve purchased with the tractor. Just got on the Bxpanded website and noticed they’ve gone up $50 since you made this video. 😡 Owell, like everything else, inflation has caused a rise in all costs. I’m still gonna order! Thanks for the video.
Congrats on your new tractor! Kiotis are well-made, reliable tractors. Yep, I would expect the price to be higher since it’s been a few years since I made the video. BTW, I still love my Piranha tooth bar. Thanks for watching!
Best thing you can put on your tractor Martin! I love mine. Have one on both tractors, but it really shines on my subcompact tractor because it don't have the weight or power of a compact tractor. Have a fun play with the new BX tooth bar. See ya!
Good evening Sir, great installation and various field testing Sir for you great tooth bar 👍😊 Great point about the bag dragging 👍😊 Great point bush clearing too 😊👍 Great video Sir and have a great week Sir Cheers 😊🍻
Hello there Martin!!! The tooth bar is a great attachment and increases the ability of the bucket to do even more work!!! This is a great addition to your tractor and I bet you will get lots of use out of it!! Thanks for posting and take care!!
I ordered one of these 2 weeks ago. I can't hardly wait to get it on my 1960 Oliver OC46 track loader and get busy with it. I have about 2.5 acres that was in CRP for 22 years and it has become over-grown with hundreds of Mulberry trees, most an inch and a half or smaller in diameter. Next door to me is an acre or so of old pasture that was cleared last fall of all the trees, but has very uneven ground and LOTS of tree roots left behind. I'm hoping this will help in removing a lot of the roots and leveling of the ground that hasn't been worked in 40 or 50 years.
Wow! Your Oliver track loader is as old as I am! Didn’t know Oliver ever made track loaders. Cool! I think you’ll find the tooth bar will super charge your bucket’s abilities, especially with the push power I imagine that track loader has. Thanks for watching!
@@DIYMyWay I have7 years on the Oliver! I got "Scoopy" fixed because pf UA-cam kinda. I watched a guy working on an old Allis Crawler, then watched his next video, which was an Allis tractor, and figured out he was a neighbors son. Grew up less than 4 miles from me. He has a 4 or 5 videos from getting it started the first time in 13 years, to rebuilding the steering clutches, then remounting the loader. Here is the day he got it running and took it home to fix up. ua-cam.com/video/2o4O86uTv8k/v-deo.html
EXCELLENT Demo video. thank you. I laughed at the "BUCKET-CAM" LOL very funny. but really gave a front row seat perspective on how well this tooth bar works. I'll be getting one now too!! thanks!!
Thanks for the video! I've had mine for over 3 years and it improved everything I use my bucket for! (except plowing my paved driveway! - I switch out to the Piranha Straight Bar "toothless" for the winter)
I have a very small old Kubota tractor with a loader and this looks like it would be an excellent upgrade for me. It almost seems like the less power and weight the tractor itself has, the more it would help! Great video.
I think you are right that it would help out smaller, lower HP tractors more because it will maximize how much you can dig with your FEL. Thanks for watching!
Great video! First time viewer, great steady voice over. Really enjoyed the content, liked and subbed. I just pulled the trigger on my 2501HST Friday, Lord willing will be delivered Wednesday. Had the piranna tooth bar put on at the dealer, was hoping it would be a good investment. Sounds like it will be!
I agonized over which tooth bar to get for my Kioti and finally settled on the weld-your-own kit from Titan for under $200 with my rewards points. I really like it, but I'd still really like to try the piranha bar. Never seem to have enough toys for the tractor. Thanks for another great video!
Martin, Thanks for the thoughtful video. I have a Piranha toothbar in my shopping cart for my 53” bucket on my JD 1025r. Thought about the Heavy Hitch but I am not digging up rocks. I like the Piranha design better. Bill
U make Install look simple. Your verbal instruction are spot on. I would suggest placing wood or cinder block under back edge of bucket for safety. Hate when the bucket drifts. I do need to ask, why a claw not ball peen hammer?
Thanks, Stuck! Good point about the cinder block! Because it was right at hand. I do have a ball peen hammer somewhere. The question is where. Thanks for watching!
I’m real interested in the pro model because it is reversible between flat blade and serrated edges. Now I’ve got to convince my wife to go along with shelling out another $700 after we pay $65,000 on a new tractor and implements. Thanks for the video!
Hey Robert! IMO, the pro model has too many bolts to take off to switch edges whereas I only have to take off two to get to my buckets factor flat blade. Thanks for watching!
These are very useful. I have a brand called the Ratchet Rake with a set of teeth on the front and bottom. Like the name implies it attaches with ratchet straps. One word of caution, it is possible to bust hydraulic hoses with these if you put too much pressure on it. I would think your model is better for digging and possibly a better all around model, I like it.
Yes indeed! I’ve seen some videos on the Ratchet Rake. It’s great for clearing brush. I wanted something I could dig aggressively with and clear brush, which the Piranha tooth bar excels at. Thanks for watching!
@@DIYMyWay I have the Ratchet Rake on a M6800 and I just purchased a B2601 w/ grapple bucket for cleaning up the wooded areas and mowing my lawn. I'll put a Piranha Tooth Bar on it, I really like the looks of it. Thanks for the video from SE Tennessee.
Mine just arrived but it’s width is the same as the bucket sides. They will send out one the right size and pay for the return. Should have it shipped next week.
@@DIYMyWay They are making it right which very good of them. The inside bucket dimension is 52.875”. If they make it .25” less than the actual 52.875” it should slide right in and allow installation. Stuff happens.
I like it but I would definitely get longer bolts, as a general aviation rule, two threads minimum should be protruding and I may add a cotter pin for extra safety. Thank you for the video
Very nice Martin. I bet since you are going to be pushing out trees and stuff that you can never guess what I recommend the next addition to your tractor be. Could it be a brush guard perhaps?
Thanks, Gary! A brush guard is on my list of projects. I believe I saw where you posted a video on your brush guard. I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for watching!
Why no stainless washers between the Piranha Tooth Bar and the inside wall of the bucket? Your video shows a gap there. Washers would relieve stress on the Piranha Tooth Bar mounting ears. Stainless hardware (bolts and washers) also deter places where rust can form. All in all, that bar provides a lot of bang for the buck in making the bucket much more useful than just having the factory edge on the front edge of the bucket. You always come up with winner ideas for your tractor! Great job.
Hi Don! Yes there is a gap and adding washers is a good idea. I might have to scrounge around and see if I have any that would work. The tooth bar makes a HUGE difference in the digging ability of the bucket and it can hold more in the bucket. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
Thanks for this video. I am installing mine today. Were you able to get enough turns on the mounting 15/16 nuts or do you recommend buying a bolt that's a little longer ?
I am very interested in this addition to my FEL. My Kubota is also a 3901 so your channel is high on my list of what to watch. Do you still think the Piranha Bar is worth installing? I enjoy your channel and the time that you put into explaining all your actions in the videos. Merry Christmas you and yours!
Hi William! Yes I do. You can do so much more with your FEL with a tooth bar. I have heard that the lead time for BXpanded products is months out right now due to supply chain and labor issues so keep that in mind. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas!
Hi Sunjay! I’m sure digging in rock will dull the edge a lot quicker. We have a lot of rock on our property so far I haven’t had to dig in any of the heavily rock infested areas. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Curious if you looked at the EA Attachments (or other manufacturers) toothbar, and if so, any particular reasons for selecting this one over other brands?
Thanks! I went with BXpanded because of their reputation and my experience with their other products. I ruled out the EA tooth bar after seeing their video comparing theirs vs BXpanded. Thanks for watching!
Second time (or maybe third?) watching this video. I am waffling between this and the Wicked. There is definitely a price difference and imagine the EA product is going to be ultimately tougher. I just doubt the limits of the BXpanded would be tested by me. Same tractor as you and very similar property to you. Great info as always! Thanks!
@@DIYMyWay A couple more questions Martin (sorry): Did you ever have a need to remove it from your bucket? Where there any surprise use cases that you have stumbled upon since owning it? Thanks! Dave
No I haven’t had the need to remove it yet, but some day I might have a reason. Good thing it’s easy to put on and take off. The biggest surprise was how it helps with back dragging with the bucket.
They come ridiculously sharp, but wear to a reasonable point over time. I’ve used mine a lot but haven’t seen the need to sharpen the edges yet. If I did, I’d probably use an angle grinder. Glad you love my videos! Thanks for watching!
Thanks! No, I don’t think it adds much value. If I recall correctly, you have to drill a lot more holes and use more bolts. With the original one, you just take two bolts off to get back to the straight edge on the bucket. Thanks for watching!
I have a bx23s. What I'm worried about is when I go back to the factory leading edge I will be stuck with two holes on the side. Where lets say you would get spillage from fine materials? Thanks Mate
After seeing your video I bought one. did some work clearing dead mesquite saplings and small diameter mesquite trees ( 1.5in). Got alot done in a few days. Now the edges are not as sharp, of course. Do you have a video re-sharpening the edges?
What is this "bucket cam" rig? My luck, I'd have that knocked off in about 5 minutes. I was thinking of mounting one low down inside the grill in the front.
Will this bar work on branson 2515 bucket,,it looks like what i need to clear back of my property so i can install fencing to keep out neigbors pit bulls,,
Hi Charlie! I don’t see why not since, as I covered in the video, they are custom made based on measurements you give them with your orders. Thanks for watching!
Good question, David! It will push into the gravel pile with no problem. For back dragging, I'll find out soon because it's time for my Springtime driveway maintenance. I expected it would leave grooves in the gravel if you had a steep angle on the bucket, but if you use a shallow angle, you probably could even see them. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great video! Since the slots are to allow for wear on the bucket Edge when you're not using the tooth bar. Under what circumstances would you wish to take the toothbar off?
If you were doing finish work you might remove it. I know this video shows backdragging with it but a lot of guys prefer the smooth edge. You also don't need it to move a pile of loose rock or sand for example but I find it's easier to just leave it on. Mine hasn't been off even once in about a year since I got it.
Hi Terry! Thanks! Right now I can’t think of any circumstance that I would take it off, but it’s nice that BXpanded thought of it in case some folks do take theirs off.
No, I haven’t so I can’t compare. But they are different animals for different jobs. A tooth bar would make a poor stump bucket and a stump bucket would make a poor tooth bar. Thanks for watching!
Very helpful as I prepare to put my toothbar on my B2601. I am interested to see if it will help me thin some 2" diameter pines. Ideally this would be without tearing up the soil, so I would be cutting them at the base. Any tips?
Glad to hear it! I doubt the tooth bar will get them out with ripping up the roots. If you need them flush cut, a cordless sawsall with a pruning blade might be your best bet. But it won’t be nearly as much fun as ripping them out with the tooth bar on your bucket. Thanks for watching!
SOLD! Got some clearing to do and that looks like a great solution.
Hi Dwayne! It sure is! I really like that I can clear and area, roots and all with the Piranha Tooth Bar, including small trees. Of course, I expected it to make digging much easier, but I had no idea how much it would improve back dragging. Thanks for watching!

Hey Robert! IMO, the pro model has too many bolts to take off to switch edges whereas I only have to take off two to get to my buckets factor flat blade. Thanks for watching!
Your awesome man I’ve been looking at getting one too
Thanks! They dramatically improve the utility of the FEL.
Sorry they shipped the wrong length but glad to hear they are making it right! You’ll be amazed at how it can transform your bucket!
@@DIYMyWay
They are making it right which very good of them.
I got one of these ordered, but I bet its gonna be a job installing it, as my bucket is grinning pretty big on one side lol.
Uh-oh! That could be a problem. You might need to wipe that smile off your bucket’s face first! Thanks for watching!
Congrats on getting your tooth bar! I found the bolts were long enough for my installation. Good luck with yours!
@DIY My Way Wow, thanks for the fast answer. You saved me a trip to buy bolts. Thank you.
Got one coming for an 84" bucket on an m59. 4th week down, 2 more to go
84”! That’s a Big bucket! You’ll be amazed at the difference the tooth bar will make in what you can do with your bucket. Thanks for watching!
Nice job, will have to get one. Any issues with rocks? We have a lot of large stones.
Hi Sunjay! I’m sure digging in rock will dull the edge a lot quicker. We have a lot of rock on our property so far I haven’t had to dig in any of the heavily rock infested areas. Thanks for watching!
I'm ordering one
Thanks
Great video! Curious if you looked at the EA Attachments (or other manufacturers) toothbar, and if so, any particular reasons for selecting this one over other brands?
Thanks! I went with BXpanded because of their reputation and my experience with their other products. I ruled out the EA tooth bar after seeing their video comparing theirs vs BXpanded. Thanks for watching!
Good video. Remember where you got that coaster chair?
Thanks, Tom! Yes, I do. Thanks for asking! Just kidding. Got it from my father in-law.
Thanks!
Hi Dave! The EA Wicked tooth bar probably is tougher but I have found the Piranha tooth bar is holding up very well. Thanks for watching!
QUESTION: Do these ever need to be sharpened? If yes what do you use file, grinder, flap disc? Love your videos.
They come ridiculously sharp, but wear to a reasonable point over time. I’ve used mine a lot but haven’t seen the need to sharpen the edges yet. If I did, I’d probably use an angle grinder. Glad you love my videos! Thanks for watching!
Nice. Great video. I need to get one. They now have a "pro bar" with two edges that can be flipped. Do you think that adds any real value?
Thanks! No, I don’t think it adds much value. If I recall correctly, you have to drill a lot more holes and use more bolts. With the original one, you just take two bolts off to get back to the straight edge on the bucket. Thanks for watching!
@@DIYMyWay Thanks..
I have a bx23s. What I'm worried about is when I go back to the factory leading edge I will be stuck with two holes on the side. Where lets say you would get spillage from fine materials? Thanks Mate
The fix for that is easy, Allen. Just put the bolts back in the holes and tighten them up. Thanks for watching!
Where did you get those hooks at? Do you have a video of them? I was gonna weld a couple on, but those look much cleaner.
From Ken’s Bolt On Hooks. If you are good welder, then weld on hooks would be cheaper and probably stronger.
Looks like a great addition for you on the property Martin! Worked really well for you. Thanks for the excellent step by step install. :) Be well!
Hi Gord! Yes, indeed it’s an awesome tractor mod. Thanks for watching! Stay well and stay safe!
After seeing your video I bought one. did some work clearing dead mesquite saplings and small diameter mesquite trees ( 1.5in). Got alot done in a few days. Now the edges are not as sharp, of course. Do you have a video re-sharpening the edges?
Hi Humberto! Yes, the tooth bar is a great enhancement to a loader bucket. Sorry I don’t have a video on re-sharpening the edges. Thanks for watching!
What is this "bucket cam" rig? My luck, I'd have that knocked off in about 5 minutes. I was thinking of mounting one low down inside the grill in the front.
I have two that I use on the bucket. One is a magnetic mount for an action camera the other is a clamp on mount. Thanks for watching!
Another great video. Looks like an addition to my "Need List". By the way, did you do a video on the bolt-on hooks that you have on your bucket?
Thanks, JD! No, but there are several videos out there on installing them. Thanks for watching!
How about working with gravel? How does back dragging work for smoothing a gravel bed.
Did you have the 66" kubota bucket?
Yes, I do. Thanks for watching!
Have you run a stump bucket before? How does this compare?
No, I haven’t so I can’t compare. But they are different animals for different jobs. A tooth bar would make a poor stump bucket and a stump bucket would make a poor tooth bar. Thanks for watching!
@@DIYMyWay I'm thinking for saplings each might work, and I think by watching, the tooth bar would win.
Well, yes either could pluck out saplings. As my video showed, the tooth bar can pluck out small trees, saplings and brush.
Another awesome video. Thank you! How's the Polaris EV doing?
Thanks, James! The Ranger EV is AWESOME! We’re still loving it and drive most every day with good weather.
Just ordered one for my 1025r.
Ah, you pulled the trigger! Great! Let me know what you think about it.
@@DIYMyWay
Hi Martin,
Your video cemented the notion that it would make a good addition to my bucket. Thanks again. Great video.
Bill
Very helpful as I prepare to put my toothbar on my B2601. I am interested to see if it will help me thin some 2" diameter pines. Ideally this would be without tearing up the soil, so I would be cutting them at the base. Any tips?
Glad to hear it! I doubt the tooth bar will get them out with ripping up the roots. If you need them flush cut, a cordless sawsall with a pruning blade might be your best bet. But it won’t be nearly as much fun as ripping them out with the tooth bar on your bucket. Thanks for watching!
