I always remember the classes as:
A = Above everything (18000 and above)
B = Busy
C = Controlled
D = Do talk to them (if they are there)
E = Everything else
G = Ground (near the ground)
Scott Franco this is great lol
Thank you for sharing!!
genius
Thankyou!
John, this was great! Hoping you did more on the other airspaces...off to look now! Thank you!
I really enjoy and learn from all your videos - even though I've been an active pilot and aircraft owner for the past 20+ years. Please let me know if you're ever in the Melbourne, FL area. Would love to fly with you!
I appreciate it! Always happy to help. We're based out of Anchorage for now, but hopefully I can take ya up on that at some point! Safe travels!
Good video with excellent visual cues on the sectional.
Thanks, I appreciate it!!
now that's a way for me to understand much easier/thank u
Question. The class D airspace at the airport I have been at recently goes to 3200 feet however there is a class bravo ring above it that starts at 3000. How is the class D ring higher? shouldn't it be listed as [30] or something? airport elevation is 700' so maybe that has something to do with it (700 + 2500)?
love ALL your videos! Keep'em coming!
Hey F8ma! I have a question. I know the requirements for each class airspace, but when I get in the air, I have a hard time applying the requirements to real flying. Any tips?
Always excellent instruction!
Good video, but what is the purpose of the dotted class e airspace that you mentioned, that is attached to the north east of the class d?
Class E airspace that starts all the way at the ground as opposed to starting at 700'agl or 1,200'agl
vadermike777 They put class E to the surface there because there is likely an instrument approach that passes through there that needs more separation than typical class G airspace provides that you would otherwise see there.
What does it mean 'landing with Zulu' you said in the video?
What if you entering class D Aerospace but you are not Landing in the airport and thank you for all the work that you do in the channel to help us

@@FableMythLore I found it on episode 38 thanks
@@MrSam-db1vw np i had noticed no-one had responded.
thank you for your response.
Red aircraft was on the right - but didn’t he say left downwind?
I tried to watch this video but I wasn't given clearance...sigh
Thanks for the vid. I feel sorry for the student though. Too much info coming at her at once.
bugs me why some pilots switch to a singing voice when communicating. Why the tendancy to do the long vowel sounds at the end of every word? 5:05 - 5:30 Just talk to the controller or broadcast like you were talking in the rest of the video.
It is easier to distinguish between letter sounds on the radio if they are exaggerated a bit.
video not playing.. but the quickbooks ad gets played each time.. sorry ads!
Why contact tower and not approach when entering class D airspace?
Most class D airports will not have an approach controller or frequency to do so
There seems to be an error with this video. It won’t play for me.
Ditto.
What's the difference with class c and d when departing and arriving?
Basically no approach controller to deal with at D airports in a nutshell.
FLY8MA.com Flight Training is that true? Near DFW nearly all class D airports require you to contact approach
I want to learn all the flying airspace and everything after 13 ago
so if tower says " contact tower at point 9" that means 121.9?
Aztec Warrior that is correct.
When ATC leaves out the preceding frequency and only gives you a point number, then they assume 121.
Just a bit more clarification. If the tower frequency is 118.2 and they say GC is on .9, that means 118.9, or 121.9?
That pilot spoke very fast, poor girl was just sitting there, probably thinking it was her last flight! WHY do most people think they have to call over a radio quickly?
