Here is my list of recommended things to purchase if you are just getting started flying. Regardless of where you learn to fly, it is good to have these on hand. The FAA manuals can be downloaded for free but I still prefer to have a printed copy. You can purchase from Amazon here:
AIRPLANE FLYING HANDBOOK amzn.to/3WmsIfi
PILOTS HANDBOOK OF AERONAUTICAL KNOWLEDGE amzn.to/37XxsE2
FAR/AIM amzn.to/3vkXsln
PILOT LOGBOOK I recommend if just getting started: amzn.to/3zOxfxi
and also download pdf versions for free from the FAA here:

These videos are for informational and entertainment purposes. They are not intended to replace instruction from your certified flight instructor. FAA regulations and procedures change periodically so stay up to date on the current rules and regulations with your instructor.
Yep, love to see pilots always aware of places to land. As I get older this has been a higher priority in my flying as well.
Thx for watching!
I set up my inaugural flight with Eagle Aviation in Columbia S.C.in two weeks. Can't wait! I know I'm going to get hooked! I've always wanted to fly since I was a small child but never had the opportunity. It's never too late! I've been binging your videos lately and I thoroughly enjoy them. Thanks!
Man that’s awesome! You will certainly get hooked. Let me know how it goes.
Excellent video !
Thx for watching!

Great video, I am a new student pilot, wondering on your iPad Mini, if it is hooked up to a Sentry, or does it work without a Sentry? if it is hooked to a Sentry, is it via bluetooth? Thanks so much!!
Hi Ken, my iPad mini is actually connected to my Garmin 345 ADSb transponder by default. I do carry a Sentry though as a backup and leave it on sitting on the floor between the seats just for the Carbon Monoxide detector feature. Both the 345 and the Garmin provide ForeFlight pretty much the same information. I think I connect via wifi on the Sentry but it may have the option to do both. Thanks for watching.
@@FreedomFlight1 Thank you!
Nice 172. What year ? Did you have it all redone? I have a hanger at McKinney/
Ours is a 1982. Yes, we have refurbished most everything on it. Thx for watching. I hit TKI every now and then. Keep an eye out for me!
Actually millions of places to land in an emergency. At least compared to the topography of Greece. I will tell only this, in Greece flying VFR 1500ft over 50 NM of only sea is full normal. It is our operation.
Thx for watching!
Do airlines use class d airports
Yes, it’s fairly unusual for airlines to operate out of non-towered airports. However, we do at times. For example, at American Airlines, we service some of the ski cities in Colorado seasonally that do not have control towers (class D). Our regional American Eagle jets certainly go to both towered and non-towered airports, but towered, Class D is most common for all airline flights.
Thx for watching.
I'm about 20 hours in my training and a small airport I fly to is a class d and for some reason there's jet blue Embraer 190's there often. It's cool to see, being in a little Piper Warrior taxiing and take off next to them. I just can't imagine them having enough passengers to warrant flying in/out of there.
