Hello Very nice speakers. What I don't understand is why don't you give the speaker a good crossover? 2 good that means 12db octave for the bass and the tweeter. This means you can use the tweeter much earlier in frequency. And you take away the high frequencies from the bass. The whole thing means that the speaker can be fully loaded and distorts much less. Just a tip from me. I've been building PA speakers myself for 15 years. I even installed 3 good crossovers with 18db octaves. Greetings Andy
Might be using an active crossover. He has two speakon connectors in the rear, one for highs and the other for lows, so I'm assuming he's filtering from his console which is cool for a home system but way too many wire runs for a mobile system.
On a musical recording of acoustics, I heard a non-standard middle. At first I thought it was an equalizer. But later I realized that the acoustics were not reduced by a common impulse, and the components play one sine signal at different times.
You failed to install insulation or some sort of sound dampener inside the enclosures. That's why you're getting such a hollow sound. You can hear the sound literally bouncing off the walls inside the boxes. Go back & insulate & you'll hear the difference, believe me.. .Otherwise really was a pretty nice build. I would have doubled up on thickness of the baffles but other than that real nice. Nice looking final product. Although also I would not have used dowels to hold covers on, Just heavy magnets to hold them on so they're easily removable. And I have a question too, Where did you get the labeling? The Storm and Surge And jack hammer labels you put on your covers? Did the subwoofer company provide those? Also, What were the grates made from that you put in your covers? What material are they and where Did you source those?
Man yall built that big ass soundsystem to play THAT kind of music?lol to each their own i guess.lol great looking buikd tho clean, sharp, unique. Well done.🙏
Weak is too negative.. The Jackhammer is instrumental speaker it has a frequency of 20hz-18khz.. Its more on average or they call it Fullrange in portable Bluetooth devices..
This was just Awesome, I'm a Bedroom DJ and i would love to build my own speakers and just jam, i have some bookshelf speakers and those are enough for now but i'd love to have a bigger set.
I once built and installed sixteen 18’s in a guy’s concrete basement. To me it was a waste but it’s what he wanted. We had to have a secondary power drop brought into the house and a separate breaker box installed to support the audio system. Going off of memory as it’s been about 15 years, we did four in each of the front, sides and rear. The high range consisted of Jamo towers and the system was basically a 11.16, lol. The high range was powered completely by Carver amps and the subs were powered by custom built plates pushing 2k each. The total RMS of the system was somewhere around 22k. It was loud and clear but the concrete didn’t allow for much vibration.
You did not list how thick the plywood was that you used?? I'm guessing it was Half inch? Next time maybe try ¾"Baltic birch next time .. mdf is the most popular Material for building subwoofer enclosures but birch is another great option.. Was a great looking project, good job
Great job brother but how about the cross over 🤔?

padding in a ported box ? huh
the reflex port is too small for two 15s or 18s ,. should flare the port or use a bigger one 4.5 inch 5 inch
Me personally i would have only used the cabinets for bass. And built a separate center channel
@@rl4416yh sound damping is used in ported boxes for better sq

The mids are perhaps weak.If there are vocals, they will not be expressive. That's what I think, but everything else is top
