top piece and custom stainless steel logo's finished.... check out the sneak pics at instagram.com/meade916 Check back for the bench testing video coming soon. If it does what i think it will, we will for sure build box number 2 and then bring both home. They will be powered by a 1000 watt Audiocontrol home amp (2 of them, one for each sub). Stay tuned! Thanks again to Gately Audio and crew!
@@Ieatpeople2 me too! I been building boxes for 37 years and never have i thought of that.....You are never to old to learn new tricks. :) Gately FTW this guy has a trick up his sleeve for everything.
I have designed and build several speaker systems and subs in my garage over the last 30 years. I am proud of what I've done. But I have NEVER seen a higher quality build than what you and your crew have built. The JBL cabinet shop would be green with envy. Thank you.
When I went to your shop and saw these in person, I had no idea what would come in the future. This just blew every picture I had in my head. Just getting better and better projects. That is why I buy smd products, we can watch from design to ordered product all right here and know we are paying for top notch quality. Love your work Steve, keep it up and I will keep buying from you, and one day maybe be able to afford some gately love too.
This enclosure is totally insane. That's what you expect with Gately and SMD at the helm. Excellent job beyond words. Never cease to amaze me, Steve with your work. Incredible!
Just Realised its 4 home Theater. I have Crack the dry wall in my house with a 8 inch sub at only 300w. In a 20ft x20ft Room. And it's only the Ceiling which is dry wall. The rest is solid concrete And Bricks. So looking forward 2 this one. Got me on the edge of my seat.
meade... your an amazing installer... hell of a fabricator .... design some of the best equipment in car audio to date... but build amazing terminal cups in the usa.... and use metric hardware.... again... 100 percent respect for everything you do... design and build....
it isn't metric hardware. Those bolts are 5/16-18 which is not metric. Not that it matters to me at all, it could have went either way when i first designed it. That is just a typical size we use at the shop for fuse blocks etc... But thanks!
@meade916 ohhh my bad.. again you do amazing work and design some great things to help out the car audio community... I guess I assumed they were metric since a metric wrench was used to tighten it....
Someone commented that box is not big enough to let 33inch sub play it's full..... But in the beginning i even thought so but then i thought that people who built this had calculated it in computer and then engineered this monster.... Whatever ..... They know it better ..... Its not good to pass any comments without understanding and realise the fact how they built it i think .... Congratulations to the team ❤
That's crazy. When you said he wanted to do something on the bracing, that is the exact design I had in my head, with it tucking in to the sub. so tight it blends in well.
Damn that box looks freakin good. Hell, It's more like a piece of furniture. Once the speaker was in the box and sitting on the ground, I was getting some Back to the Future vibes. When Marty stops by Doc's place and both Doc and Einstein weren't home and then Marty plays the guitar and gets tossed across the room.
In 1062 when I was a DJ and into music. I built this exact system. Large and heavy but filled each room that I took it to. I learned then the encloser is just as important as the speaker. Mine did not have the lights.
Had Rabe send me a Gately enclosure for my 4Runner. It is by far the best built enclosure I’ve had. Beautiful inside and out. Wicked happy with it. Movie nights are going to be a blast with the low end chief. Good shit.
I love all your videos, they inspired me multiple times to build and buy speakers, also help my friends with the audio experience! Thank you for your content, been watching over 10 years
Took the same amount of guys to load mine in my jeep lol. It sucks. We took it out and put it back in many times before we got it running. If I fill the tank the rear sits about ¼" lower in the back. It's even got heavy duty coils on it. November I'm going to start building my Escalade.
I'm saving up for a b2 8" so I can do a "stock location" build. Never heard one in person but every video I've seen everyone seems to be impressed. And they look cool too.
Now that's a clean ass box!! I xan only imagine what that will sound d like with the rest of your home system.. Looking forward to seeing it the crib..
I tend to like in-detail build videos like this, as it gives you inspiration or ideas. So come time I build a box, I have a direction/idea to go with terminal designs to run through my own CNC router / fiber-laser cutter. Makes you go "Ah that's a neat idea, Gona do something similar but altered for my use!" Mind you, I'm not a company. I'm just a hobbiest who owns machinery for my own good xD The box looks great though!!
Freaking gorgeous box man. If my 15" sub and box design for my old Excursion sounds great in my living room using an old pioneer home receiver sounds loud and clean I can only imagine how this custom design will sound in your house 🔥🔥
That enclosure is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I can only imagine what it's going to sound like. Y'all killed it with this one bro, beautiful work of art. ✌️
What a cliff hanger!! Looking forward to the conclusion! We need a Home Theater demo when both of them are installed, Edge of Tomorrow opening sequence!
Man so so sick even one of them would Crack a wall and shatter a window, but 2 wow I'm real impressed with the work you do and the pride your boys put in totally awesome much love
been playing with it. It's obnoxiously loud in my shop. I have a few more things to do to it and then i can play with it more. The landlord is probably getting pissed off by now so i need to take a break and jump back on it during the weekend when nobody is there.
Box looks awesome dude can't believe you're putting two of those in your living room lol 😆 that's gunna rock the house! Would love to see more of that Van Halen truck paint job on it looks incredible.
Wow. This either raw genius or pure insanity! I recommend lightly treating the foam surround (edge) of these monsters for long-term reliability. I use two coats of clear latex caulk. 🎶 🔊🔊🎶
Not gonna say I've been waiting for a year in this build but I'm pretty sure it was snowing in the video where they was sitting where they go. Let's go!!
the bracing lands right where all the mounting screws are in the baffle also...hiding anything that may pup thru. Bobby re-designed that part mid-build :D

Bru I know dawm well you couldn't help yourself and tested it allready 😁😁
That's one of the sickest home theater subwoofer I've ever seen.
Bro, the big ass clamp used to squeeze out the glue has to be one of the best engineering hacks I’ve ever seen. My forearms thank you!

I am humbled by the sheer amount of work put into just one of these master pieces. It must truly be an honor to work in that shop.
For a solid birch work of art they are practically giving these away with the prices I saw online. Gately definitely on my Goals list.
That acrylic trim is the chef’s kiss. Beautiful work!!
it was supposed to be flat black trim with a stainless steel insert....but i liked the demo sample i cut so much we kept it haha. Thanks Soul!
Thanks to the gatelys for letting us see their professional box building shop. I dream of a business like that and of Steve's

Wenn man im Bass baden will, dann nur zu, dieses "DING" ist gerade richtig dafür! Gut gemacht!
My favorite parts are the use of Pocket Holes and hearing the words "Inch and a Half, Birch". 👍

I was so happy to see you use the proper torque sequence when you attached the speaker to the box.
Mannn that thing is sweet, it's a piece of furniture with a 33" sub built in. Awesome!!!
That's a badass box bro, Gately is a madman
Gately is a master in his craft. From a woodworking perspective, it's so beautiful! Can't wait to see this beasts in action, Steve!
Gately boxes are top notch. Awesome build can't wait to hear it.
That business down the street is definitely calling the boys with this one..the shop is getting a shake down
That box is beautiful! Wow! Pure art & sound!

Amazing. Reminds me of the amp from the film Back to the future. That's going 2 Demolish eny Vehicle u Install it in. 😃😃

it's even nicer and cleaner in person. It is hard to capture on camera how clean it really is :) thanks Miguel!
