@@thomasrosendahl2783 its not hard to see the change. Been watching FM for a few years. My comments were meant as a joke. I personally like argonians, followed by dunmer.
Every time I play an Elder Scrolls game, I do my first playthrough with a Dunmer. Something about it feels right to me. Maybe its the fact that they are typically so reclusive and self-interested, that it feels like a big deal to have a Dunmer involved in world affairs around Tamriel. Imagine the Dragonborn, a Dunmer, ancient enemies of the Nords, but in a funny twist of fate, a Dunmer becomes their savior. Same with the Champion of Cyrodiil: a Dunmer, who typically hate the empire, helping to save it. Can you imagine, if the next game is set in Hammerfell, a Dunmer, in the western lands dominated by men, where it is probably so rare to see a Dunmer, becomes the champion; becomes one with the deserts and the people of Hammerfell. Something about that just feels right to me.
I've done this in each game but as a nord and I always named him Beowulf lol. I started out doing it because I liked the stats they had in oblivion but the more I got into the lore, they more I started doing it for RP reasons. In Oblivion my RP for Beowulf was that he was a modern "Dragon of the North" sent to protected the empire built by a previous Dragon. Morrowind was a little harder to RP but I basically used a reverse scenario of your Dragonborn point. It seems like poetic justice to me that a culture as xenophobic as the Dunmer would have their greatest hero reborn as a member of their ancient enemy, sent to save them and their land and cast down the false gods. I do like the Dunmer alot though. If my go to for mannish races are Nord, Dunmer would have to be my choice for mer. They just have a uniqueness about them and so much lore that makes their culture look badass.
@Dimitri Telvanni I only played a little bit of ESO around the time that they came out with the Imperial City DLC So I never really got to play around on 2nd era Vvardefell and hear it lol. I mainly played in the Ebonheart pact areas and the only time I recall any similar dialogue was for a few micro quests with the smaller tribes in Deshaan, which made sense. I think they kind of limit you in a sense when you're most usually an outsider coming in in these games (it doesn't really apply in Arena and it's not really a focus in Oblivion since Cyrodiil is so multicultural in the 3rd era) but I think it limits you less than if you're from the province, for game mechanic reasons with people being willing to explain things to you about local customs and cultural lore. Maybe they can remedy that in future games by giving you an option of "hey, I'm this race, but I'm actually from this place". That might unnecessarily over complicate the character creation though.
This reminded me how, all this years ago, I first time start to play ES Morrowind, how I was reading all books and walked the path of Nerevarine. Thanks Scott.

Can you please do a video series about the race relations amongst the races of Tameriel? Who considers who allies, enemies or just simply indifferent? Thank you!
While trying not to be mean, the games have the relations pretty much laid out as obvious as possible. Id recommend reading the game dialogues, the many books, and playing the games with the intent to learn about each race.
This is just incorrect... the race relations are very complex in TES.. Obviously everyone knows that the Dunmer, Nords and Argonians hate each other but there are things that are far more detailed and lightly explored. Example: The Imperials, Bretons, Nords and Redguards are usually on good terms (minus current events). Everyone hates the orcs except the Imperials. The Bosmer have great relations with most of Tamriel minus the Khajiits. Shit like that... reading alot of ingame books tell you small things like this and I've only scratched the surface...

On the original Xbox black and green I remember I found out the button combination for the unlimited regeneration cheat so I went and killed vivec... I was so surprised when I looted him... I took what I found to the only dwemer I could think of and from there, was set on the "back door quest" Bethesda thought of everything.
I say boethiah, mephala, mehrunes dagon are the bad daedra
Azura, Malocath, Sheogorath, Hircine, Sanguine are mostly good
You may want to give their video on Boethiah a go.
And Sheogorath is neither good nor evil. He's just chaos.
This was well worth the wait.
Outstanding prodution. Brilliantly researched and a fantastic delivery.
Now this is quality content!
"Mortality is our test, and the threat of extinction is our foe in the arena of Tamriel." Rise up, Champions of Boethiah. Rise.
All my eso dps toons are dark elves except for my tanks and healers.
Everyone hates everyone
This is just incorrect... the race relations are very complex in TES.. Obviously everyone knows that the Dunmer, Nords and Argonians hate each other but there are things that are far more detailed and lightly explored. Example: The Imperials, Bretons, Nords and Redguards are usually on good terms (minus current events). Everyone hates the orcs except the Imperials. The Bosmer have great relations with most of Tamriel minus the Khajiits. Shit like that... reading alot of ingame books tell you small things like this and I've only scratched the surface...
Have been waiting for this 🔥
Dunmer are my favessss
Very cool
Would it be possible to add these plus other lore videos (eg: about the gods of ES) into a playlist? I can't listen to Shoddycasts lore vids cause of the voice in the videos. Whilst I can happily dall asleep to your smooth tones. (In the nice way you understand)
wasnt expecting a necrons shout out
Dunmer is the best race.

Sorry, ull never get higher than the chimer. Soo... try some hist sap and just get high.
You guys should do an anti mage build! There’s a mod for it already, all you guy need to do is make up a good back story and find a great armor mod.
