Finally started work on our cavalier from the AutoCross damage from last august. heated frame up and pushed it out with the porta power and than put a new radiator in it and it holds water replaced the piece of shit tin underneath the car that hooks to the bottom radiator support with square tubing, and reinforcing the bumper what we are doing is taking stock crash bars and bending it into the frame and welding it to the one on the car and doubling it out front gonna be badass looking and sturdy enough for some racing. And also gotta replace a brake line goes figure right? 153hp in this 2.2 Ecotec so should be able to run better than the old piece of junk 2.2 with 115hp 😂😂😂 Possibly May 5th at Atomic Speedway in Waverly Ohio... and if that gets rained out who knows when
Do yourself a favor and start planning on manual-swapping the racecar. The autos in the 5th gens are the weakest point in the car, failure rate on them is pretty high. Other than that, appreciating the Prelude love!

Do you have any plans to run the prelude at the slinger enduro on May 5th or the enduro in chilton on May 26th? Just checking since I’m going to be racing both.
Honestly not sure yet. I can't decide. Haha
The cage you got for the last one was a bit too small and build quality seemed to be iffy. For about the same price shipped, they sell this one on Summit that is a bit wider and it comes with the passenger side bars. allstarperformance.com/roll-cage-kit-standard-mini-stock-all22107/ It may fit your Prelude a bit better. I'm planning on using this in my Celica build so I ran it for shipping to my house. It wasn't too bad at $42. Can't wait to see your build!
I realize that the cage was small. The series was designed for people to be able to replicate exactly what I was doing. This time around we are doing a custom cage. It will fit much nicer and the car will be a little better than the last one. 😁 as always, thanks for watching! Good luck on your build!
Also if you remember I took the passenger door bar tubes and made them in to rear kicker bars as I felt personally supporting the roof bars was more important than having multiple passenger door bars. That was why there was only 1 on the passenger side in the last car.
@@thatracinglife Good deal. A custom cage is the way to go. Unfortunately, that exceeds my talent by a bit so I have to go with something that will only need tweaking to fit. Looking forward to following your next build and seeing what tips will help me in mine.
Exactly why I did the pre bent one in the last car! Now I can change things up a bit and show other ways to approach your builds. 😁
