This is why I love GM, Ford and Chrysler more than ever. I've always been an American car fan, had a few imports in the 80's but always came back to American muscle. Now we have engineers in charge of these companies and they aren't afraid to create some crazy cars. ZR1, Z06, ZL1, Hellcat, Demon, GT500, GTD, GT40. How insane is the power coming out of Detroit? And you can drive them all day long. When I was growing up in the 70's, there were a few guys around town with Hemi's, LS6's, Cobra Jets, and a few of them built them up, but they weren't more then 450hp at the wheels and got abysmal gas mileage. As usual Thomas and James, well done. Can't believe you guys don't have your own TV show. All those iterations of US Top Gear, they should have had you guys as hosts.
When I was growing up in the 1980s N/A carbureted V8 motors were being built for competition on NASCAR’s top circuit (Winston Cup it was called at the time) that dyno’ed at 600hp at the crank. The base model Corvettes at that time were rated at less than 250hp from the factory; you could order the Callaway twin-turbo package or the “King of the Hill” ZL-1 edition by the end of the decade but you still weren’t getting close to the power of a purpose-built race car (weighing more than 3.5K pounds) capable of reaching 200mph-plus on a banked track. 35-40 years later, YOU ARE. We live in amazing times.
I'm 38 years old. I've been a gear head all my life and a GM guy all my life. Being that I am a true lover of all things mechanical and all things that go fast and look cool, I don't care what name is on the badge. If it's badass, it's badass. And this thing, is badass.

Ford and GM have REALLY been stepping up their game in the last 6-7 years... better quality than ever, electric pickups and SUV, performance and more environment "friendly" gasoline engines than ever before... purely on a technical standpoint, this is INSANELY impressive. Great job GM!

They’re fantastic for the life of the warranty. Take a look at the 5.2 Voodoo, damn thing shakes itself apart every 20k miles. 6.2 LT? Might drop a valve. At least in GMs case, have an engine for over a decade and still can’t figure that issue is a hard pass.

When I was a kid (I'm 26 lol), 300hp in the BMW 335i was FAST. Then the GT-R came out and we literally called it Godzilla.....with 480hp. The most mental thing ever conceived at the time was the 1000hp Veyron, which was such a mic drop that it took a decade for it to be dethroned (Minus the SSC, which barely exists). Nowadays you can buy a 300hp 3cyl corolla, a mustang with 480hp, and a vette with over 1000hp. Anyone who says we're not in the golden age of cars is living a lie.

Ladies and Gentleman. Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the pinnacle of the internal combustion engine. We are living in it. The 2020s will be the decade to go down in books as the one where manufactures released some of the most insane cars to ever hit the streets; each one turning gasoline into some of the most glorious sounds mankind has ever heard all while making amounts of power we could only dream of 20-30 years ago. I’m loving it but also sad as I know the 2030s and all the decades following for will never be the same. It’s a hell of a time to be alive and I’m grateful to be here for it.
Only for the (very) riches.
Dont worry EU isnt gonna stop making SUS engines after 2030. We dont have new fuel to kill internal combustion engine belive me. EV isnt the way. We gonna drive them till 2050.

The Bugatti Veyron was produced until 2015. It needed an 8L V16 with 4 tubro charges, 3 heat exchangers, 3 radiators, and tires that can only be mounted in France for $70000 to make and handle this much power. It is crazy how much technology has evolved in so little time.
The turbo temperatures are the same as a microwaved burrito on the ends while the charged air intake temperature stays the same as the middle of that same microwaved burrito .
