@@adix3603 Or just do the 4 or 5 honor missions that grant you a massive boost in honor towards the end of the game as Arthur makes ammends for his past actions/mistakes. A great way to get the good ending and tie up Arthur's story.
I strongly disliked how missions would automatically assign you weapons at times. I used the cattleman revolvers for most of the game, and it would frequently auto-equip the double actions or schofields. Same with rifles. I hated how missions would automatically equip a rifle or shotgun. Let me choose my own weapons, dammit!
I just want to be able to use my springfield to force me to get headshots. I even got a glitch costing me like, $1000 in-game when, during the last mission of chapter 3, I died defending the braithwaite house and my springfield rifle just *disappeared.* Wasn't on my horse either, and that was a gold rifle with mahogany varnish. I had to by another one and spend like, $300 customising it.
@ToMMy I completed the game 3 times and only JUST now realized that I didn't die a single time in either playthrough. I was so immersed in the game that I took Arthur's life (and especially my horse's life) quite seriously.

I feel like this is what Online is still missing. World-building and character development is very important indeed, and whilst the story had that in spades, and even made some of the most trivial side-content feel impactful in some way or another, Online falls flat on its face due to the repetitive nature of its side-content, and especially its main content.
There must have been a lot of onions being chopped in my house that day. I’m not an emotional person most of the time unless I’m drunk. Yet this game, like the first RDR, really hit me in the feels. Even when I was fighting Micah at the end, I knew the outcome of Arthur’s fate. Yet I was still thinking that if I did everything perfectly and didn’t get hit, maybe I’d live. Even though John Marston was probably my favourite ever protagonist up until RDR2, I felt empty playing him after Arthur.
Just play single player, put the minimap off and play the game. Shooting is kinda boring with a controller and you wont die as much but the game is beautiful and amazing to explore. many mysteries and weird stuff going around
Mediocre villains? Dutch is probably the most effective villain I've ever seen in a video game because there are layers to his character. You truly feel conflicted about him.
I agree. I love his character development, and how he descends into villany, and how corrupted his mind gets, and how he develops into who he is in RDR1.
Dutch a villian? sure he was written like an antagonist but he feels more like a anti-hero or anti-villian of the game the real villian of the game is Micah
Fun fact: Dutch can’t admit he’s wrong. You can tell when Micah kills Arthur he keeps saying “I” but can’t say “I’m sorry” because he can’t admit he’s wrong.
This here. This is so important and seems to go vastly overlooked. Dutch is by definition a Narcissist. He can't admit he's wrong, because I'm some way, his world literally doesn't work that way. I grew up with Narcissistic people in my life, and as difficult as it is to understand, to them, the reality really is that they can't logically do anything wrong.
@@danielgaming2223 Yeah but despite being a narcissistic person, I believe Dutch really truly did care about Arthur. The simple fact that he even tried to say "I'm sorry" even if he decided not to say it and simply walk away is enough proof.
@@Xeno574 I'd say he regretted how he treated someone so loyal to him in the end. But Dutch was definitely not good enough to actually care beyond that.
@@thephoenix4093 Yeah, he truly did have a bond with Arthur regardless of whatever people say. It just simply wasn't strong enough for Dutch to redeem himself or anything like that.
One more dimension to the story I think you missed is Micah's death and how it leads into the events of RDR1. With Micah, his spy, dead, Edgar Ross hunts down the man responsible for it so he could still have a lead on finding and killing Dutch, just as Milton was tasked to do previously. If John had listened to Abigail and fully let go of his past as a vengeful gunslinger, Ross would have had no reason to hunt him down, kidnap his family, and set into motion the events of RDR1. John's irrational need for revenge and to break away from the stagnant domestic life he established for himself and his family causes him to take up arms once again, precisely what Arthur attempted to keep him from doing. Arthur was a bad man turned good, but his attempts to break the cycle of redemption ultimately fail with John when his hunting down of Micah eventually lead to his own death at the hands of Ross. Looking at the big picture, John's failure to break the cycle of redemption then leads to his own son, Jack, leading exactly the life both John and Arthur tried to save him from. Its very likely Jack ends up unceremoniously murdered because of his life decisions as well, probably while seeking a redemption of his own. This cycle of (red dead) redemption is the true overarching plot of the series.
Well said. I never thought of it like this. No wonder why they emphasized Abigail being so against him going to kill micah. Even Charles said that Arthur says revenge is a fools game. Cool point bro thanks
@@RepublicofODLUM it kinda is, not the biggest spoiler on the commentary, but still is. Anyway, you will enjoy playing it and living the narrative regardless.
Thats a really smart way to look at it, definitely some things I missed, but the only difference I would make to that theory is with Jack. Jack dosent just die in the end, he breaks the cycle himself, he is always so happy when he is a child in RDR2, which leads on to him not going further after avenging johns death, I like to think it ends there, we see in rdr2 that he is a good kid with a kind heart, but with his father's arrogance, which sets him in motion for revenge, but what separates this from John and Arthur's story, is that jack actually succeeds. Jack breaks the cycle of revenge, he grew up surrounded by it, saw his family molded by it, yet broke the cycle.
Evan Kauffman I heard him say this and thought “ok, he’s just trying to be edgy, right?” 😕 it may not be perfect, but it’s 11/10 when compared to almost any other game in the past 10+ years. And that’s saying something, since there wasn’t THAT much which was super new to the mechanics in the game. It was newer, shinier, and prettier than the last, but it was just more of the last. But that *more* was certainly much *better*, *more fun*, and felt somehow exponentially *redder*, *deader* and *more redemptier*.

Bad honor could have been so much more. Imagine, the lower your honor, and higher your bounty, people start recognizing and fearing you. Also, when going for realism, infinite spawning police forces in places like Rhodes might not be such a good idea. Would be interesting to be able to wipe out the law for a large period of time and watching crime go rampant in a town, while also making shootouts winnable and more realistic. The way things are right now you either run away or die eventually.

Great video as always. However, I couldn't disagree more when you say that RDR2 is a worse game if you played RDR1 (due to removing the tension factor for certain characters). As a fan of RDR1, one of the my favourite aspects of RDR2 was seeing HOW certain characters developed into who they are in RDR1. In my view it benefits both games.
I loved RDR1 but RDR2 is superior in my opinion. Brings all landscapes a western can take place in, adds in depth hunting/fishing, NPC interactions, etc... No, it's not perfect but makes GTAV look like a fool.
Exactly, I developed deeper understandings about RDR1's original characters through RDR2. How did Dutch lose it all? How did the gang leave John for dead? What does Arther Morgan facilitate John's story? It made it much more intriguing to watch the character development knowing what goes down in RDR1.

The slow pacing of some missions in Act III is a valid critique, but at the same time, it makes a lot of sense in the context of Arthur's character arc. By that time, Arthur is disillusioned with Dutch and he knows he's dying so he's trying to find some meaning in his life by helping other people. He starts helping Native Americans, the sister, the random people he meets and even the son of the guy from whom he got TB. These slow missions make a lot of sense from the narrative point of view. They also serve as nice breaks from massive shooting galleries that happen all the time in Act III.
Maybe it's just because I'm native American, but helping them was my favorite part of the game. Their story breaks my heart and I felt obligated to help them
As a Native American myself, I see a lot of people who look and sound like Rains Falls and seeing him beg his only son to stop fighting and begs, it's just sad and heartbreaking to see.
I wish they would release a single player DLC where you get to play as Charles and help the tribe escape to Canada (along with burying Arthur’s body and maybe some street fighting missions)

Before I know it, I've got 8 or 9 dead witnesses laying in the road, so I have to haul ass or I'll be there all night. Damn looky-loos.
I know right? It's so annoying!! I do my best to just hogtie them but usually a single witness will get away too quickly after I tried like 8 guys who were gonna tell on me
There's a lot of good points in this video throughout. Lots and lots. One disagreement I do have is how you talk about the downside of introducing new main characters late into the game, and how it slows the game down when you want to get to the end. Rains Fall and Eagle Flies are two incredibly important characters, simply for Arthur's development toward the end, which is where the main shift in his desire and moral compass comes (Acts 5&6.) Rains Fall is someone helpless and needy and a dying Arthur wants to make amends in his life for the wrong things he knows he's done. RDR2 story isn't just simply about rootin, tootin, an shootin (yes it's incredibly fun and addicting,) it's a tale on morality and the importance of realizing your mistakes in life and doing what you can to rectify that before you die. I'm sure you understand that, but the introduction of these main characters is what really shifts Arthur's view. One thing you say is "It would've served Arthur's character arc better." That's just incorrect. You do address how Arthur understands the world better after his conversation with Charles, which kind of contradicts your original point. He doesn't come to this realization til late in the game, and it's these new main characters that help bring that realization to life even more. Arthur is a very different person by the end of the game, and characters like Rains Fall are why he makes such a moral shift. If these characters had been around since Act 1 or 2, there wouldn't be much of a change in Arthur by the end of the game. Yes, there are characters you help throughout the early stages of the game, and do nice things for. But Arthur isn't dying and he literally doesn't see the merit of it, because his whole life has been about robbing and killing. He beats people senseless for not paying the debts back in Acts 2&3, but by Act 6, you're literally giving your own money away to the needy people. If you were required (by the game) to help them (RF & EF) that early on, you wouldn't feel like Arthur really was a different person by the end. It's the helplessness of these characters, the stage of Arthur's health, and the wisdom shared by the characters that gives Arthur a new sense as to what is important in life. Just my thoughts. Even though it was a small part of the video, I thought I would address it and try to get a dialog going. If you do have something to say, please be respectful, it makes the discussion much better for all :)
@Mikael Literally, what a retarded reply. How do you know NO ONE read his comment? Are you a hacker or something? True, but I never understood what difference it makes to loot a corpse of a dead enemy and that of a dead stranger. Both cases are essentially stealing and neither of those dead guys need that shit anymore, lol. There's not much moral ground behind saying it's dishonorable to loot the corpse of an unlucky traveller killed by someone else but it's honorable to loot the corpse of a guy you killed just because he was a member of an enemy gang. The honor system is fucked up in several similar points. Like when you're just collecting stuff (e.g. herbs) near the camp of a stranger, he starts shooting at you so you defend yourself - and lose honor. How exactly is defending your life dishonorable when you weren't the one who started shooting first? What are you supposed to do when a trigger happy random bastard tries to kill you? Run away? Veeeeery honorable! Also, if you antagonize a stranger to a point where he starts shooting at you, and you kill him, you lose honor. OK fine I can understand that you started the conflict verbally and it's bad. However, many times you are verbally insulted by strangers for no good reason at all (they can actually say very irritating things) but if you shoot them, again, you are the one who loses honor. Following the logic of the previous case, you did NOT start the conflict so you shouldn't lose honor. Etc.

Great video and I would say I agree with most of this except: 1. I can't say it's worse playing it after the first game. I like the allusions it makes toward it, i.e. seeing how John got his scars, Jack and Ross meeting on a river bank, Uncle resting right where we know he will die, John posing like he does on the first game's box (though maybe that one's a bit too blatant). It does restrict the plot, but so is the mere nature of prequels. 2. Micah is a great villain. I don't think I've ever hated an antagonist as much as him. He's loyal only to himself, bigoted, greedy, ultra-violent, and ratting on the gang to the Pinkerton's while manipulating Dutch, causing his decent into madness, as well as gang member's deaths (including Hosea), and the eventual downfall of the Van Der Linde Gang. I think we all wanted to shoot him every time he made fun of Arthur's tuberculosis.
well its not worse because its a prequel, whitelight made a good video with some bogus points, and ya Micah is a great villain because right of the gecko you hate him which tells you Micah isn’t a loyal outlaw, he only cares about money and his guns
To me, hating a villain doesn't necessarily make them a great one. I mean of course one would hate him, he's written as such an obvious asshole at every turn with his hostile and violent tendencies. Dutch, imo, is the game's truly exceptional antagonist because he's written with depth and a conflicted personality that people debate whether he was bad all along or cracked/worsened under the pressure.
@@wall-nutgang8654 No it isn't, it's an opinion. And I see Micah as simply a punching bag that the writers want you to point to as the obvious villain. Wanna argue that the game still has an amazing antagonist? I think Dutch is one of the most well-realized ones I've seen in a game.
Couldn’t disagree more. RDR1 didn’t make me feel much but determination to beat it whereas I’ve cried and laughed and became attached to the characters in a way few media ever elicit. Nothing is perfect when knitpicked to such an extent but perfection doesn’t make something a masterpiece. I was watching the Dark Knight the other day and I noticed lots of little goofs (like Joker’s suspenders “magically” changing position between shots) but if you let those ruin the experience that’s on you. That doesn’t make the film less of a masterpiece The game has clearly resonated with so many on a level beyond most games and even films. For me it’s left an indelible impression well after playing. To me that makes it a masterpiece.

He said he can’t call this game a masterpiece…masterpiece definition is a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship. This game is possibly the best game made yet and it’s 2023
Literally after not playing it for 2 years, I come back and it blows my mind all over again, there isn't a game out there remotely on the same level even still. Man Rockstar deliver!!!
This is the only game I've played where I shed many tears over a fictitious outlaw cowboy. And a part of me died along with him at the end. The story is 100% the best part about this game.
A pretty overlooked issue is West Hanover and New Austin. Both of these counties were included but only half of West Hanover is used in the main game. If you even try to enter into the red zone as Arthur the game breaks all immersion and spawns very strong enemies literal feet away from you. If you do somehow manage to get further in before dying to enemies spawning on top of you an invisible sniper instantly kills you. This wouldn’t be a problem if there wasn’t content locked in that area that prevents 100% completion unless you finish chapter 6 and proceed to the epilogue where you must play as John who has less dialogue and cannot access half of the side content in the game. Getting 100% completion is incredibly difficult because of this since you must complete all content that gets locked further in the story and then once everything is done you have to then end the game and finish the rest as John.
the stupidest thing in that regard is that john cannot swim. like dude. i finished the story. that is when i start exploring where i have not been before. and then you tell me that bish cannot swim. i do not care about the story reason. its BS
@@basedpump946 Really? Maybe I never payed attention to that but I made sure to do everything possible as Arthur before moving onto John for the final percents left, for that true 100%. Kind of… theres a few things you have to use glitches for to get true 100% that I didn’t bother with.
true but it is a little clunky sometimes with getting good honor being more of a chore and bad honor feeling giving you to much and good to less, but the examples whitelight made were handicapped because of his massive bounty, a good example would be when i saved a guy being kidnapped i got no honor because he was a criminal, and no bad because i let him go, it cancels out
The potential for honor system is waaaaaay bigger in online mode, where you aren’t locked into that story thing. Although Rockstar is too dumb to realize of how much of a huge, gigantic, big pile of potential cash they are sitting on
@@caralho5237 It also changes the endings, the lighting, and several outfits are unlocked. Additionally, the Fine Night of Debauchery suit is more blue than red
it looks like a trend that youtubers who were bashing the game years ago for being bad are now returning saying this is actually masterpiece so im waiting your turn now
You hit my nails on the head. The openness of the game outside the mission, and the fact that most missions are a shooting gallery or an Elder Scrolls intro seldom mesh. Still not half as bad as that shit in Farcry 5, where the cult leaders can just pluck you right out doing the plethora of things you can do (including an active mission) and put you in an irrelevant Disneyland ride... three times each I believe. I stopped playing after the militant guy plucked me out of the get-Hurk mission to do a second killroom rush. Fuck that.
I wouldn’t mind that if your character could talk. It’d be interesting to see what effect the three siblings could’ve had on The Deputy since we can see (at least with Pratt) what they can do to a person. Plus it’d give some replayablity as, depending on which order you take on the Heralds, you get different cutscenes. But that’s just me trying to make a better game for Ubisoft.
Not only did Far Cry 5 feel like a downgrade to its predecessors in a lot of details, its story is very simplistic. What I mean with “simplistic” is, that although it’s bearable, it’s very a forgettable storyline and with a basic plot line.
Steve if you’re talking about “lame dialogue” and “boring combat” then far cry 5 is 100x worse than red dead redemption 2. I also never said the older far crys were bad, in fact, I think they are better then the excuse of a game far cry 5 is
This critique is amazing. It gave me chills when you were talking about Arthur's character and the portrayal of masculinity. Every moment seemed incredibly well delivered, man. Thanks for an amazing perspective on Red Dead Redemption 2.
The sky box you mentioned is something interesting. So, as of recently, more and more games have gotten into the habit of using volumetric clouds (Ace Combat 7 having the most detailed variation of those), and better Gray implementation. So, on a positive note, I'd expect more and more implementations similar to this one in the future. This system is similar to Horizon Zero Dawn's, but more polished.
At no point, in the ten plus years that I have gone back to RDR again and again, did I think “man how did John’s house get there? Did he build it? Did someone else build it?” It’s a damn house.

supercomputer2004 Your guns were probably being stored on your horse as the game does automatically after you’ve been riding for a bit. It’s important to make sure you grab your guns off your horse before taking off. I believe Hosea emphasizes that in the early story.
the worst thing is when i don't want to carry multiple rifels on my back during a mission, i select the guns i want (revolvers only) and when i get off my horse the game just spawns them on my back anyway. also, i wish there would be an option to only carry one revolver.

Glitter Sometimes since I know they will make me have 2 long guns on my back, I will pick the shotgun and rifle that I want, and then the game will still automatically switch them to 2 rifles (why the fuck would I need 2 repeaters) which pisses me off every time it happens
It cannot be understated how much more immersive it is to play in first person with a mouse. Camera movements can look so much more lifelike and it's far less impairing to take quick glances around yourself on horseback.
My criticisms are pretty minor but in no particular order: -Weapons are tied to your horse. You can only change weapons with your horse and if you forget them, too bad. -Slow walk in camp -Practically no point including the far south part of map outside of MP. -Wagons are't really practical. They're not faster than your horse, it's hard to store dead animals on them. -Leopold Strauss. Seriously, to hell with this guy and everything about him.

The outfit changing menu is equally infuriating and results in the player spending ~45 minutes fucking around with it every time you want to change your hat. It won't let you save outfits half the time. Some days it lets you save 3 different ones, others just 4. It makes no sense. Also there are a bunch of different outfit menus that you constantly have to toggle through, since eqquiping an outfit in one menu removes it from another menu. And equipping an outfit anywhere removes it from your horse for some reason and so you'll have to toggle to another to put it back on. It makes ZERO sense. It seems like it's designed to make you not want to use it. What was Rockstar thinking?
that’s the reason why i kept the same clothes throughout the entire game. after buying my first set of new clothes after getting tired of the default gunslinger, i literally didn’t change once. not even when i went into the mountains, i just kept eating to keep my stats up instead of changing into something warmer bc i couldn’t be bothered

the real villian of the game is Micah
Yeah, I can’t agree with him on that at all.
@@Charles-hy6gp Dutch eventually becomes the villain

The only time I remember him saying sorry after finding your first camp in guarma
I knew i shouldnt have come here before playing, is micah's death a big spoiler for rdr2?
@@RepublicofODLUM it kinda is, not the biggest spoiler on the commentary, but still is. Anyway, you will enjoy playing it and living the narrative regardless.
@@f.c.m.3865 k, thanks.

I know right? It's so annoying!! I do my best to just hogtie them but usually a single witness will get away too quickly after I tried like 8 guys who were gonna tell on me
Yeah, but then you can't save your game.

13:33 you got bad honor because you looted that ladies husbands corpse
Exactly lmao. If you looted the enemy you would have been fine lol.
Etc.

Great video and I would say I agree with most of this except:
Saying Micah is a mediocre villain just a wrong statement

Getting 100% completion is incredibly difficult because of this since you must complete all content that gets locked further in the story and then once everything is done you have to then end the game and finish the rest as John.
the stupidest thing in that regard is that john cannot swim. like dude. i finished the story. that is when i start exploring where i have not been before. and then you tell me that bish cannot swim. i do not care about the story reason. its BS
U cannot get locked out of 100% as john. Not doing the missable strangers missions does not lock u out of 100%
You can't get 100% completion without completing the entire story anyways, so your problem isn't exactly justified
@@linen8231 You would do missable content then proceed through the main story to do the John stuff that Arthur can’t do.
@@basedpump946 Really? Maybe I never payed attention to that but I made sure to do everything possible as Arthur before moving onto John for the final percents left, for that true 100%. Kind of… theres a few things you have to use glitches for to get true 100% that I didn’t bother with.
I personally think that the whole honor system is amazing for THIS game which is the most story centric game I’ve ever played
true but it is a little clunky sometimes with getting good honor being more of a chore and bad honor feeling giving you to much and good to less, but the examples whitelight made were handicapped because of his massive bounty, a good example would be when i saved a guy being kidnapped i got no honor because he was a criminal, and no bad because i let him go, it cancels out
The potential for honor system is waaaaaay bigger in online mode, where you aren’t locked into that story thing. Although Rockstar is too dumb to realize of how much of a huge, gigantic, big pile of potential cash they are sitting on
It does nothing but change some cutscenes and dialogue options in open world
@@caralho5237 It also changes the endings, the lighting, and several outfits are unlocked. Additionally, the Fine Night of Debauchery suit is more blue than red
Dude, whitelight and upisnotjump both uploaded a red dead redemption 2 review, within 10 min of each other. Spooky, are they actually the same person?
I thought I was the only one!
is this not the same dude that used to do like whatculture videos or something?
In the wagon mission with the medicine, I was able to get the medicine without getting noticed. It felt awesome.
it looks like a trend that youtubers who were bashing the game years ago for being bad are now returning saying this is actually masterpiece so im waiting your turn now
BASHED IT? He called it the best game of 2018? Do you fuckin crybabies even watch the videos you comment on? Loserrrrrr
I also never said the older far crys were bad, in fact, I think they are better then the excuse of a game far cry 5 is
Steve lame dialogue u stupid this game has the best dialogue I’ve seen in a while
This critique is amazing. It gave me chills when you were talking about Arthur's character and the portrayal of masculinity. Every moment seemed incredibly well delivered, man. Thanks for an amazing perspective on Red Dead Redemption 2.
It reminded me a lot of "Like Stories of Old" channel.
@keflar5 They don't?
@keflar5 you sure? It must be chilly in your basement
keflar5 I wasn’t aware that men were physically incapable of getting goosebumps. Or maybe they are, and you’re the one who isn’t a “man”.
God i hope so, the almost oil painting like look of RDR2 is amazing.
I thought the epilogue was fantastic. Especially if you played the first RDR. To see the house being built..
epilouge was rushed it was for rdr1 service
At no point, in the ten plus years that I have gone back to RDR again and again, did I think “man how did John’s house get there? Did he build it? Did someone else build it?”
It’s a damn house.
Everybody has their opinion, but this game is a masterpiece to me.
actually its a masterpiece in general, with or without white's opinion. its like a guy saying u cant call picasso paintings masterpieces because he doesnt like them. this game isnt a masterpiece to HIM. thats about it.
@@flamingmanure it's not a masterpiece because there are objectively many huge flaws with the game. Doesn't mean it's not great, just means it could've been better, which is true for pretty much every game.
@@bogged810 name a masterpiece then
@@YellowBriefs I don't think anything there's any perfect game. If I had to pick one then I'd probably pick terraria now that it's fully released.
@@bogged810 a masterpiece doesn't have to be perfect, it's a matter of raising the bar for its genre at its time of release. And basically every Rockstar title in the past 20 years has done that.
Terraria does nothing new or innovative to earn that title, Minecraft on the other hand can be considered a masterpiece.
The ultra realism to an extent did make things a tad frustrating, but overall I do feel this is a masterpiece of a game and probably the most well crafted I have ever played
you left out just how *good* the music is tho my guy.
the fact you use different writing styles to produce your videos just speaks to the artistry of your words, as a writer myself i enjoy indulging myself into your work. even this far back i commend the time and detail you put into your opinions on these games, not skewed in any way. the good. the bad. and the absolute teeth grinding in-between.
I know I’m late, but “Paytah has died” made me stop playing multiple times.
I didn’t have a problem with the interaction animations, I thought they served the immersion.
they suck. game is such a drag.
They are slow as fuck
i don’t mind them
I agree, they are immersive, yes, maybe they are slow, but that is the point and I don't mind it.
Nah it slowed the pace of the game down. GTA was consistently fun because u didnt waste 30 minutes looting every corpse. RDR2 was amazing at times but an absolutr chore sometimes. Immersive? Maybe. Fun? NO
I love all the points you point out.
I enjoy the cores, I think it's an interesting concept.
Agent Milton was pretty cool. I think he just needed more cutscenes, but the VA Did great with the role.
The slow moving character felt right to me, typically you don't see people just jogging/running when they're getting places, idk man maybe I'm weird
I agree. It’s immersive as well. Complaining about movement just sounds like your running out of ideas to complain about haha.
@@scumlord4709 how idiotic. movement is one of the most vitally important parts of a game to get right, and when you don’t, then people aren’t gonna have much fun when trying to do literally the most basic thing there is to do: move

This reminds of one of the Bungie developers quotes.
"It has to be fun before it's pretty."
Finally someone said it.

You know all the food items are in the quick select menu, right?
Not all, the high value craftable game food is only saved in the satchel.
@@lasarousi that's bc they count as tonics but don't fortify stats.
Well it was perfect for me the only complaint I had was my guns would dissappear after I got off my horse
supercomputer2004 Your guns were probably being stored on your horse as the game does automatically after you’ve been riding for a bit.
You can actually have your guns on your back automatically if you head to the gun store and go to customise and then equip the guns you want
@@impressiveom8764 no way
I like that you used some of the songs from the credits as background music. Credits playlist slaps.
It cannot be understated how much more immersive it is to play in first person with a mouse. Camera movements can look so much more lifelike and it's far less impairing to take quick glances around yourself on horseback.
This game in 1st person is gaming glory at its finest.
Your comment about theaters was perfectly timed.
My criticisms are pretty minor but in no particular order:
-Weapons are tied to your horse. You can only change weapons with your horse and if you forget them, too bad.
-Slow walk in camp
-Practically no point including the far south part of map outside of MP.
-Wagons are't really practical. They're not faster than your horse, it's hard to store dead animals on them.
-Leopold Strauss. Seriously, to hell with this guy and everything about him.
What do you mean about the Leopold Strauss criticism, do you mean hes a bad character or something else??
@@olivercity9154 He's not poorly written. He's just a bad person. He preys on people down on their luck and is not ashamed to kick them while they're down, no matter their situations. He is unsympathetic and unapologetic. He's a weasel. The only positive to Strauss in my mind is he did remain loyal to the gang to his death but so did other characters. Morality wise, he's probably not the worst of the gang but he's certainly one of the slimiest members of the gang.
@@LegionOfEclaires You knows there's many other bad characters, and they are all (including Strauss) used to build the story and Arthurs character arch
@@olivercity9154 No doubt
If you do leopolds missions you eventually kick him out of the gang at beaver hollow
10:42 The weapon wheel isn't the only menu that seems to be deliberately designed to infuriate the user.
@@yourehereforthatarentyou I pretty much did the exact same thing. I consistently only ever wore one outfit. If I went to a colder area, I had a carbon copy of the original outfit that included one of the coats from the Trapper. I kept both outfits saved on my horse. Never changed other than through the horse items menu.
You can have 5 outfits saved and 5 on your horse, those include saved outfits as well as presets
