In regards to how Kieran disappeared, if you wait a LONG time at the party when Jack is rescued, Kieran will initially refrain from joining in saying he doesn't want to get in the way. Later, he will start drinking and tell Arthur how much he appreciates the gang taking him in. He will then wander off into the woods and pass out drunk. Presumably this is where he gets grabbed, meaning the O'Driscolls already knew where the gang was, which isn't surprising given how unstealthy they were and the Pinkertons tracked them down multiple times. Gives me some relief that Kieran didn't intentionally sell out the gang.
And how do you know this every time I’ve ever seen him he goes to sleep on the floor in shady bell. Secondly they tortured him so I’m pretty sure he did sell them out just to get them to stop torturing him And when they got what they wanted they killed him by taking his eyes out and chopping off his head
@@chrishilton3626 there is literally zero evidence that he sold the van der linde gang out at any point. the lemoyne raiders knew who took over shady belle, so did the pinkertons. kieran rarely left the camp so we can assume he probably got picked up around shady belle so if by some insane set of circumstances the o'driscolls didn't know where the van der linde gang was they definitely knew just by being in the area they took kieran from
@@krokodil7057 that's right everyone knew where they were. But given the extent of torture the O'Driscolls inflicted on Kieran, I always assumed he finally cracked & gave them up. Everyone would under those circumstances
@B G personally I didn't think about it I felt bad about Keiran and wanted to wreck all the O'Driscolls there. But after i always assumed that the Gamg was just loud because after all if the Pinkertons could easily find them then so could the O'Driscolls
Fun fact if you spare that O'Driscolls who jumps on you in the stables he'll be at the next shootout and has custom dialogue like "you should've killed me when you had the chance"
If you go fishing with Javier in Chapter 3, Arthur mentions that the gang refrains from robbing a stagecoach in Nevada, realizing that the passengers are mostly women and children, but the very next day, the O'Driscolls end up massacring that very same stagecoach.
wanted to also add that last guy killed has a "Letter to Tom from Colm" on him that can be looted. Other than that I think all the points were hit pretty well.
just got fishing with Javier to, Arthur telling Javier that Colm and Dutch where sort of friends and having a dispute over living ideas of Dutch. After that Dutch leave.
There is some hidden dialogue during the attack on Shady Belle you missed that is quite useful: If, after retreating into the mansion, you do not immediately walk to defend the other side of the house, you go where John is standing, John can be overheard mentioning that he suspects Kieran betrayed the gang to which Arthur replies something like "No way. Did you see what they did to him!".
@Shiny Entree yes his dialogue and tone is completely different since I played Arthur with high honor based on how he acted in the first mission. I always heard that dialogue with Arthur defending kieran. Which is why the thomas downes mission always felt so out of character to me
@@theoutsiderjess1869 Arthur is an outlaw out to make money for his gang. He doesn't feel right about debt collecting, but at the time he sees it as something for the good of the gang.
I genuinely liked Kieran. He was kind, innocent and genuine. Almost like he just joined the O'Driscolls for a sense of company but knew better after a day or two. I was speechless and my jaw dropped when that horse came trotting down Shady Belle
I was shocked when they killed Sean i knew something was going to happen Arthur kept complaining it didn’t feel right but when they shot sean i was like got damn!!!!! 😮😮😮😮
@@Jimmothypiddler they didn’t trust him and we have to admit you have to earn it and coming from a gang they want to kill lol you can’t be mad at them🥴 at least they turned around and everyone liked him.. his death to me was weird i was like who the hell is that i kinda forgot about him i had to think about it hard and was like omg 😱
Nah. Happened well before that when he abandoned the non fighter gang members like Abigail. And attempted to abandon once close/trusted fighters like John & Arthur. Then took in Cleet & Joe Micah's buddies without vetting either of them. Dutch didn't show any mourning over Susan Grimshaw's death later on, despite her once being fiercely loyal to him and his gf before Molly. Dutch didn't say a damned thing about Molly's death either. The male chauvinistic part of his nature wouldn't permit him. His psychopath behavior became second nature by the time he murdered that old woman on Guarma. TBH Dutch's rapid descent transforming into a psychopath really began with Hosea's death. After that, Micah worked on him until he had Dutch convinced at that point their gang had way too many mouths to feed. The rest is history.
Kieran's death was so upsetting to me, I grew to love his character he was such a flighty anxious kind of guy but super sweet and friendly at the same time. O'Driscolls tortured the poor bastard something cruel before decapitating him.
@@hadeskingoftheunderworld7010 😂 this game had me all the way fucked up.. they did an amazing job with the story but it will hurt your feelings and piss you off
Micah's reaction to discovering Jake's body, and telling Arthur what he's found, and actually calling Arthur by his first name almost makes him seem human for a bit.
I honestly was just about to comment that lol. The way he pulls away from it in disgust/fear and the scared tone in his voice. Also the fact he senses that the same thing may happen to Dutch and he immediately pulls out his revolvers to defend Dutch makes me thing he truly did admire Dutch and care for the gang. Maybe although he isn’t a great person (he is racist and sexist) he may have just been like John in rdr1; forced to betray his gang (although the gang had already betrayed John and the government would kill John and his family if he didn’t co-operate. Micah truly is a fascinating character
It's possible Micah wasn't a traitor at that point. He could have turned some time around chapter 2 after Strawberry, probably because he was approached by the Pinkertons the same way Arthur was. Micah was one of the few members out there and away from camp at that point, besides Arthur. Early on in chapter 2 he seems a lot more interested in the Blackwater money than anything else, but after Strawberry and returning to the gang and Dutch, he forgets about it entirely and starts cosying up to Dutch more and more and trying to be in Dutch's ear. That would mean the ferry job, which we know was Micah's idea, wasn't a set-up but instead just a poorly planned robbery that went sour, which would be entirely possible since we know it was Micah who planned it and we know he's not great at planning robberies, both from the stage coach robbery Arthur does with him and the failed bank robbery he mentions.
Obviously Sadie wanted revenge for Jake, but you can only imagine what kind of hell they put her through those 3 days they held her captive, why they kept her alive in the first place. The game is very subtle about it, but it makes sense why she is so filled with rage to the point it’s suicidal.
I think she talks about the treatment she received from the O Driscoll gang members. They probably raped her and kept her in the cellar those three days?To me, it would explain the hatred and why she dressed in men's clothing. I think Sadie was never going to be another helpless victim again, and was going to fight like a man to get her revenge on the O Driscolls.
Exactly. Somehow alot of people miss that. There is only one reason she would still be alive and held in the cellar after 3 days of that many being there.
Fun fact about Kieran his death is likely a reference to the real pope saint Denis who was decapitated. It was said he walked around for several minutes while he held his head.
@@AwangKhairunnas Yeah, you can live for a short time after a beheading if it’s done right, a French scientist tested this when a man was gonna be beheaded by the guillotine, when he was beheaded the guy made eye contact with the scientist after hearing his name and was responsive for 20 to 30 seconds after death.
Never noticed that, Dutch and Colm wear similar clothing. This truly does show that despite appearance, both are 2 sides of the same coin. This game's attention to detail is beyond amazing
@@assassingamer5983 yea, while colm is a bad man he at least dosent hide behind some 'cause' to justify his actions while dutch commits atrocities and always makes an excuse for them

Yeh but idk if there'd really be much lore on them considering what was said about them in the game, they only recently started getting a serious reputation and then lost a ton of men in one fight
After I started to really like Sadie in game I stopped wanting to just kill random guys cause my brain would always go "But what if they're married and you're making their wife sad?"
I think the weirdest part of the O'Driscolls is that in Valentine, if your in a fight with them in front of a Townsperson they will become a witness for unarmed assault or murder. Maybe the O'Driscolls have a grasp on the town somehow.
They do. You can witness a valentine deputy picking up or dropping off something to the back room of the doctors office wich is run by the odriscoll gang
They definitely have their hooks in Valentine. The very first time I encountered the O'Driscolls not in a story mission was in Valentine. Two members of their gang were beating and robbing a man in broad daylight. Even with their victim screaming for help no one batted an eye or intervened on his behalf and the streets were crowded. That is until I got involved and once I beat both men down the sheriff came after me...for disturbing the peace.
Arthur's wave on the roof when, Colm looks up there is one of the most satisfying things in this game. Or, maybe it's the absolute look of terror on Colom's face a split second after seeing, Mr. Morgan and coming to the conclusion that he's dunzo
I genuinely liked Micah at first. If he wasn't the villain, I think he would still work as a character with a "bickering brothers" dynamic with Arthur.
If Micah were exactly the same, but being a "good" character instead of the villain, he would be a way better character. At least, I'd like his characterization a lot more.
The fact the O'Driscolls knew exactly where Arthur was during the sniping mission makes me think Micah was indeed a rat, but not for the Pinkertons. He was passing info along to the O'Driscolls. Then they, already in contact with the law, passed it to the Pinkertons.
you literally can see O'Driscolls watching them before they arrive they knew where Arthur was simply because they scouted ahead Dutch is dumb for not choosing where the meatting should happen
That was my initial thought on it. First thing he does is lead you to Adler ranch being held by O'Driscolls. Then he is imprisoned with an O'Driscoll he then kills I assume to keep him from telling on him. He still refuses to go home and then tries to lead Arthur into another O'Driscoll ambush after before finally returning only to further push dutch into colm further and further I figured he was working with the Pinkerton's to bring them both together and make it easier for the Pinkerton's to pick off or at least help colm weaken dutches gang by getting rid of Arthur so cool could get close enough to Dutch to take him and hand him over to the Pinkertons. I still have a hard time seeing what he gains helping colm but it made enough sense to me
Also I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure when in chapter one up in the snow Micah wears a green scarf and then again in the epilogue he is wearing a green shirt under his coat. Little thing but sticks out to me
When arthur comes to lay down on the perch, some of the birds that were sitting there fly off. I believe that the o'driscolls saw this and put two and two together and figured out that someone must be up there.
Except Micah wasn't the one who set up the meet. Pearson did. Micah didn't even know about it until it was brought up at camp, so this is wrong. Colm also knows all about Arthur and Dutch's gang. Obviously Arthur is going to be covering Dutch at the meet. I mean I could keep going on and on here. Dutch is sloppy af on top of it all, and Colm has the numbers. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that Dutch and the gang was never out of Colm's sight at any time.
I think it would’ve been a nice touch if The O’driscolls had distinct members of the gang, like how the Van Der Linde gang has Arthur, John, Javier, and etc. obviously Colm would still have the insane number of members he does but with a few high ranking ones that could be killed off or kill Van Der Linde gang members from time to time, I think it would make the rivalry stronger for the distinct members in Dutches gang and it would add more challenges facing the O’driscolls, plus instead of unknown low class members doing things such as kidnapping Arthur, attempting to free Colm from the hanging, killing Sadies husband, and killing Kieren, it would be done by higher class members to add more hatred make more infamous rivals to the Van Der Linde gang, just an idea though of course.
Yupppp, I really wish they had given it another 2 or 3 years of development before release Finish Guarma and Mexico in game, maybe some other sections of the map, expand the story a bit, add more side antagonists like some O’Driscolls like you say, maybe another cop or two, do more with the native Americans, add another tribe or two and add conflict there maybe Then Remake RDR1 within the engine, some of the extra areas like Mexico are made already so you would have an easier time putting it within the world without extra work on map building (a lot of work would need to be done to change the time periods obv) Then this would also make it easy to either do a DLC or just move faster on RDR3 where you do a more expansive conclusion to Jacks story (I’ve always imagined him as an informant in a LA Noire-type story within the Red Dead universe before or while becoming an author, or is it his son that becomes an author?) where he puts together Dutch, Arthur, and John’s stories more conclusively, we see and maybe play as Dutch as a kid, him meeting Hosea and Colm and Arthur, play as a few other characters including Arthur and John at points we have and haven’t seen previously in the series, including the expanded catalogue of characters like the O’Driscolls you talk about being finally dealt with, but as the story goes on Jack takes a bigger step back to focus on chronicling the story, not being a part of it Really want to see Charles and Sadie again, a few other threads that could be concluded and side characters revisited but without some strong antagonist with long standing ties within the narrative it’ll just feel tacked on, feels like they’ve told most of the stories they want to tell, but if you take all of those separate threads and weave them within a new story it could be cool Maybe we play as a cop and interact with all of these different types of people, Sadie as an outlaw who only really targets the criminal and corrupt, Charles and the Watiti moving back home and having to deal with other tribes coming in to take over territory there and elsewhere, hunting grounds and stuff, more government overreach, I wouldn’t be mad if they go against history and keep a stronger cowboy and native presence in the world even as the timeline goes on, I mean, even into the present day in GTA V the world is full of insane blockbuster criminals lol, the cowboy world is alive and well, the natives… not so much And maybe we can finally see if Uncle cured his lumbago Maybe the protagonist cop/sheriff is also the descendent of the guy from Red Dead Revolver (I don’t think that story is fully canon to RDR1&2, but a version of it is) but maybe he doesn’t know it until after getting through plot of working with Jack who is doing history research and he discovers stuff about the protagonist too
I think when Dutch mentioned that they widowed Sadie and he called them animals even though he has probably widowed hundreds of women I think he meant them intentionally windowing her without it being necessary
Dutch calling them animals for making Sadie a widow, when he has no problem gunning down who knows how many married men just because they're police... the hypocrisy that is Dutch, am I right
The better example would be the old hag of Guarma and Hedi McCourt. With the police it's known as a difference of war. You see a soldier not an individual it's a state of psychosis that allows a soldier who has killed to say that he's never murdered. He's at war with The Marshals, The Pinkerton's, The Feds and the Police.
Seeing the joy and smirk on Colm O’Driscoll’s face quickly turn to terror, with him breathing heavier and harder each huff as he sees that no one is there to save him from his fate is… Honestly, I don’t know, I’m glad he’s gone for good, but knowing that he realizes his fate is sealed, it scares me.
18:09 if you fishing with Javier, Arthur would talk about Colm and Dutch, saying that they weren't allies but they understand one another. Until Colm developed a meaner streak and Dutch wanting a different life than what they were doing
If you really think about it keiran is the most tragic character in rdr2, his parents died from disease when he was young, then the stable he was at threw him out, he tried it with the army but it didnt work out, he was then captured by the o'driscolls and was basically told to ride with them or be killed, he then captured by the gang and just when he feels hes starting to fit in and that hes found his place in life, he gets kidnapped and tortured to death, then has his body brutalised, while the gang he was finally starting to be apart of doesnt even realise
And the Pinkerton as well. I always thought of micah being a double agent who went rogue. I hope we get to see or if it ever explain in the future game who the hell Micah really is.
@@AwangKhairunnas i remember i saw a video not so long ago explaining that actually from the evidence in the game theres not really a good lead to point to Micah as a traitor and actually (there were multiple other suspicions but) there was a good point against Bill Williamson drawing them on accident or on purpose to them
I like to think Dutch never went after Arthur because as you play him he’s gone for days at a time snd he just thinks you’re off finding cards or fist fighting a legendary beaver
Dutch: Has anybody seen Arthur? Tilly: He was here a few days ago, he said something about finding five cigarette cards, then he dropped off a half dozen perfect deer pelts, did some chores, spent a good ten minutes petting Cain, played a game of Five Finger Fillet, sang a song at the campfire and then took off again mumbling to himself about finding a set of giant bones or something. Bill: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard Arthur saying something about killing a vampire!
Most O'driscal camp i found i sneak up and listen to them and they usally talk bad about Colm. Even once i started shooting one yelled "Another gunfight and Colm aint nowhere to be seen!"
Great video. I’m sure Sadie used to say “Besides my Jakey, you’re the best man I’ve ever known” instead of “You’re my best friend” at the end of the Hanging Dog Ranch mission. I noticed they changed quite a lot of minor dialogue in the game
I find that the most distinctive article of "O'Driscoll" attire is the green neckerchief. There are many NPCs in the game that wear a long grayish colored riding coat, but the O'Driscoll's are the only ones who wear a green neckerchief. Some of them even have green bands around their hats..
Whenever talks of the next game and where it should go next happen I noticed a lot of people gravitate towards Jack Marston, since we got a brief snippet of his young adult life in the first game. This is a story I want to see told, but first, and I think logically speaking, it makes the most sense for the next game to be played as a young Dutch, meeting up with Hosea, the creation of the gang and its culmination to where the second game begins, as well as finding Arthur, John, Charles, Bill, and Javier. Also his relationship with Colm, their adventures, and their eventual falling out. Maybe even some of the other influences in Dutch’s life that helped shaped his anarchist philosophies and developed his hatred for the government. Didn’t he serve in the military briefly? Dutch’s love interest Annabelle, whose life and death I think had a huge impact on Dutch’s slow burn into a callous, vengeful man. The Blackwater job, the Ferry job gone wrong. There is so much to explore there, and the way they divulged so much of this information in the second game (literally even the smallest details like a picture of Arthur’s dad, his dog, etc) I’m pretty sure this is the direction they plan on going. Anybody else feel this way? For some reason I feel like most of the time people want to see Jack’s story next, but for me it’s Dutch all the way. I want to play as Dutch and experience his souring.
Nah. The story is over for this gang. Plus if you do the Blackwater's mission or ferry mission. That wouldnt be a smooth transition to RD2. And it's called Red Dead "Redemption". Knowing Dutchs choices and fate. How the hell will he even have a Redemption? He dies a villain.
Yes but maybe more as a spin-off and less as a "Redemption" game. For that, I'd love to see Hosea as main character as he could have a redemption in the end. He even said to Dutch that he want noone more to die and that he wants all of them safe before he passes as he felt that he doesn't have much time left. It would be really interesting to see the formation of the gang from his perspective.
@@PaulRodriguez9 the next game could be called “Red Dead Rising” and the one after, Jack’s story, could be Red Dead Retribution, and it’s all about Jack trying to sabotage the American government for the way they used his father and then dispensed of him like cattle. Also as I stated, there’s a crap ton left still untold in terms of the gangs creation and everything else I listed, so I’m not sure what you mean by the story is over for this gang. A game about Jack would be a continuation of the story but with Jack, possibly starting his own small gang to fight the government. Sounds like a lot more to tell to me. As well as Dutch’s childhood. And the game would end with the gang bitching the Blackwater Job, fleeing north, and losing the last few people before the second game begins. Smooth enough for me lol.
@@biohazard724 why do you specifically not want to play as Dutch? Just curious. That’s personally who I want to play the most after the last game. I want to experience his mind, his thinking first hand. Plus his childhood and teenage years/young adult years were crazy eventful.
@@marloncarbajal5492 I read this, heard Dutch saying it and Micah shaking his head and felt the frustration of Arthur. Maybe because I just went through this mission again.
In reference to what Kieran said when explaining the similarities between the O'Driscolls and the Van DER Lind gang during the horse ride to "Six Point Cabin", you said that once you strip all of Dutch's "philosophy bull$hit" away, that the O'Driscolls and Dutch's crew aren't that different. But then later, you accurately pointed out that the O'Driscolls have no problem "looping the innocent into their schemes". And that's it! THAT is the difference between the two. At least it was up until the "Blackwater incident", and then everything began to unravel. In all of the newspaper articles and other RDR2 lore, they're described as the "Robin Hood types" - robbing from the rich, and giving to the poor and destitute. Colm and his cutthroats are no such thing, and only ever seem to look out for themselves.
Yo that is insane that exact thing happened to me recently I'm on my second playthrough and the same thing just happened for me with the same two guys in the same spot! That's awesome
Just watching the beginning of this and never thought about the fact that the horse in the stable (Arthur's starting horse) could likely have been Jake or Sadie's horse
I love O’Driscolls for all the reasons of being the enemy. The one thing I think that is really cool that the Van Der Linde gang does do is have a color code. I love that they all rep the Color green. Gives more of a gang feel and more stereotypical of outlaw gangs.
The fact that the O’driscolls and the Van Der Linde gang being allies was actually a true fact This can be heard from in one of the side missions in chapter three when you go fishing with Javier
So happy to watch this. Thank you. I'm new to the game. Only had it a month. But I'm addicted. I'm sorry I spoiled myself but it's all good. I had to restart the game from chapter 5 to get everything done with Arthur that I could before he started coughing. Beat it with high honor
The burning of the Adler Homestead was the first clue that Micah was a traitor. It denied the gang adequate shelter and the huge fire might have been seen by pursuers.
Kieran is quite possibly one of the best characters in video game history. He went through hell, back, and back through hell throughout his life, and he stayed loyal to those who treated him like someone who wasn't expendable. He needs his own game.
Why does everyone think every character needs a game lmfao. His entire life has consisted of ranching, joining the O'driscols, joining Dutch's gang, then being tortured and killed. I love his character too, but goddamn let's think a little bit, does that sound like a fun game?
Fuckimg Rockstar prevents Kieran ranching stimulator sounds fun to you bro? Like you get your ass beat and whine like a bitch then u join the odriscills get smacked and the game ends. man i'm so glad sadie is the main factor of killing off all the o'driscolls. i was thinking that she was just going to be an average housewife type of girl and hell did she prove me wrong. she's reckless and has a death wish but she really put on the show for me. wish we had more characters like sadie in video games. a fiery, strong, and reckless girl who's out for blood.
In the beginning of the game, it makes me wonder what would happen if the gang found the Adler homestead before the O'Driscolls. Would they too have killed Jake, widowing Sadie so they could stay at the homestead to wait out the blizzard? While Dutch's gang has morals unlike the O'Driscolls, they still are a gang of criminals who I feel would do the same as the O'Driscolls did.
micah probably would… he was the one who found the house for dutch, if the o’driscolls weren’t there then he probably would’ve killed the adlers then hide their bodies from the gang
I disagree with all of you. You forget that Dutch and Hosea kind of had a moral path that they didn’t stray from (Dutch did in the end, so there’s that lmaoo). They would’ve probably just asked for help, tried to con them or something. Idk, don’t know if violence was gonna be the answer
Kieran was a hostage the entire time. Dude just witnessed 3 men completely annihilate a well-stocked O'Driscoll camp. Even with Arthur dead he wasn't walking away with John and Bill there. He chose survival and betrayed his gang, which ultimately lead to his horrible death. He was always an outsider, even told Arthur during his fishing trip that he had no choice but to stay with them.
@@Mac.Aodhagain also, Look at how Sadie was behaving during Chapter 1,2 and a little of 3, that would have been one boring Prolouge. But yea, I also don't really like her, I think she is fine but very boring.
One of my favorite videos of yours I've seen. Just started a few weeks ago watching your old ones. For sure you spent a good amount of time on this . Well done.
Colm was trying to recruit Arthur. It's how he got Kerian too, he killed the people he rode with and gave him a choice, ride or die. I think Dutch wanted Colm to recruit Arthur so he could say he betrayed him. It's basically a sacrifice of your best man. Then he could have Micah and the dutch boys go kill him. But it's more like Arthur would of ended them. Colm even tells Arthur I missed you, references the ole days.
Wasent it predictable though? Like I liked her character and did all the side quests with her that I could but I was disappointed at how just one note cliche “I was weak but anger makes me strong but immediately after I get my revenge I soften up” like I was hoping for more of a range with her character and was really hoping that the “high honor” route would be help in her move on without having to murder everyone involved and the the “low honor” route was the high action shootout or something like that.
@@cosmonauthal7651Sadie never was weak though, they make the point that her and Jake shared the responsibilities at their ranch, she knew how to shoot and hunt and she knew how to ride a horse. That's pretty much all you need to become an outlaw. That's why the whole cowboy cliche exists because ranchers had the skillset to become a gunslinger. Sadie just never had a reason to turn to that life until her life was ruined by the o'driscolls
I never realized until now how symbolic that first scene would be, pertaining the the story as a whole. Micah caused the whole thing to come burning down.
I'd like to believe that Micah wasn't that bad until the end of chapter 5 when he got taken in by the Pinkerton's, as most of the comments point out before chapter 5 Micah had some really human and nice moments, all gone in chapter 6
You know, I think back to when Kieran was first talking about how Dutch's gang and the O'Driscolls were alike in some ways, back when he was leading them to that safehouse of there's as a captive. One line in particular that ticked John off was Kieran talking about both gangs being about "surviving" to which John replied with something along the lines of "we aren't surviving, we're...living free," which is obviously just him parroting Dutch's philosophy. Kieran's comparison can really be thought of as foreshadowing, though, when you start to count just how many times and how often Dutch talks about and speaks about prioritizing him and the gang surviving - a line that I'd wager becomes more frequent as the game progresses and his supposed morality decline. In the end, Dutch and Colm O'Driscoll probably had a lot more in common than Dutch would ever want to admit. Dutch was just an expert at manipulating his followers, showeirng them with speeches that would put the greatest sophist to shame, shown all the way up into RDR2 where he's manipulating a new gang of Native Americans in the same way he manipulated Eagle Flies while Colm utilized brutality and force, first and foremost, as a way of keeping his men in line.
I actually found out about hanging dog ranch from the paper. It tells you where they are located. Dutch to everytime he relocates. Pearson and Micah rehearse what he said, he was used to setup Arthur. I believe Colm, Dutch, and Micah setup Arthur. Like Dutch said, we missed you at Blackwater.
13:22 | "The feud started when Dutch killed Colm's *brother,* and then Colm killed Dutch's *lover,* and now they have a bitter hatred for one *another."* ... ...that rhymed when it shouldn't of... XD
Funny how Colm expected his men to fight things he didn't want to face himself. And the only time he was forced to face something himself was his own death
This actually made me eager to play through the game again. Typically, I don't play through games more than once but these gigantic, portly sized games are almost like reading a book. You think you remember all of it but upon hearing various details some months to a year or more down the line it's crazy just how little there is to the memory. Like, is this the same game I played? Did I read/watch a different thing altogether? Where am I?! Questions we all ask ourselves at least a few times a day, I'm sure. In my first and only playthrough of RDR2 I was Arthur The Angel, and my conversation with Sadie played out differently. The choices and honor system are pretty damn elegant in how they effect various details over the course of the game. For the most part, anyway, although to myself I feel they are perfect. After watching this I feel like in RDR3 we should play as Colm's brother. The one Dutch kills before the events of RDR2. I'd like to think that the o'driscoll's were once a family-type gang similar to the Van Der Linde gang. But once Dutch kills Colm's brother that's when they switch to the "more people the better" style of gang to do whatever they can to wipe out the Van Der Linde gang.
Or one of Dutch's gang. Mac Callander. The guy that got killed by the pinkerton after the Blackwater incident. The reason why i think why they should go with him because Mac had somewhat of an important conversation with the agent before he got shot. He either knew something was up with the agent and micah or something in general and they gunned him down
after seeing Kieran with his head off unexpectedly I literally raged and completed the mission with headless o Driscolls then went to hunt more and busted their head off too with a shotgun
Thats funny because it was my least favorite part of the game. It felt very slow gamplay wise, but they throw a lot of innformation at you, both mechanics and just story/ people you have to know. Maybe its just the nature of such a grand and amazing game, but i disliked it very much, to the point where I almost put the game down. Glad I didnt though because its an awsome game.
Thanks for the view of the gang and the reminder of how great this story is as a western. I do have to play it again. So much I haven't done outside of the main story. One has to wonder how many members the O'Driscolls have. Sadie brags about hunting and killing a few but I killed dozens. I even hit their ranch before a story mission. Found the knife behind the compound and went from there. Seems the machine gun goes missing later in the game.

Dutch really did become Colm. Look at his gang in rdr1. It's an army, just like the O'Driscolls. Dutch clearly only cared about numbers at that point

@@lowlylad3457 I think they changed direction midway through development. First half of the game Micah was crazy but he didn't seem like a rat/traitor
Yeah it seems like a fault on the developer's part, just to make the player not see all the writing on the wall from the very beginning.
Yeah same with the stagecoach robbery, he actually tells Arthur to take cover and asks if he is ok.
They definitely have their hooks in Valentine. The very first time I encountered the O'Driscolls not in a story mission was in Valentine. Two members of their gang were beating and robbing a man in broad daylight. Even with their victim screaming for help no one batted an eye or intervened on his behalf and the streets were crowded. you literally can see O'Driscolls watching them before they arrive
they knew where Arthur was simply because they scouted ahead
Dutch is dumb for not choosing where the meatting should happen
Like the ac Valhalla Templar tree that would be cool
Yupppp, I really wish they had given it another 2 or 3 years of development before release
Finish Guarma and Mexico in game, maybe some other sections of the map, expand the story a bit, add more side antagonists like some O’Driscolls like you say, maybe another cop or two, do more with the native Americans, add another tribe or two and add conflict there maybe
Then Remake RDR1 within the engine, some of the extra areas like Mexico are made already so you would have an easier time putting it within the world without extra work on map building (a lot of work would need to be done to change the time periods obv)
Then this would also make it easy to either do a DLC or just move faster on RDR3 where you do a more expansive conclusion to Jacks story (I’ve always imagined him as an informant in a LA Noire-type story within the Red Dead universe before or while becoming an author, or is it his son that becomes an author?) where he puts together Dutch, Arthur, and John’s stories more conclusively, we see and maybe play as Dutch as a kid, him meeting Hosea and Colm and Arthur, play as a few other characters including Arthur and John at points we have and haven’t seen previously in the series, including the expanded catalogue of characters like the O’Driscolls you talk about being finally dealt with, but as the story goes on Jack takes a bigger step back to focus on chronicling the story, not being a part of it
Really want to see Charles and Sadie again, a few other threads that could be concluded and side characters revisited but without some strong antagonist with long standing ties within the narrative it’ll just feel tacked on, feels like they’ve told most of the stories they want to tell, but if you take all of those separate threads and weave them within a new story it could be cool
Maybe we play as a cop and interact with all of these different types of people, Sadie as an outlaw who only really targets the criminal and corrupt, Charles and the Watiti moving back home and having to deal with other tribes coming in to take over territory there and elsewhere, hunting grounds and stuff, more government overreach, I wouldn’t be mad if they go against history and keep a stronger cowboy and native presence in the world even as the timeline goes on, I mean, even into the present day in GTA V the world is full of insane blockbuster criminals lol, the cowboy world is alive and well, the natives… not so much
And maybe we can finally see if Uncle cured his lumbago
Maybe the protagonist cop/sheriff is also the descendent of the guy from Red Dead Revolver (I don’t think that story is fully canon to RDR1&2, but a version of it is) but maybe he doesn’t know it until after getting through plot of working with Jack who is doing history research and he discovers stuff about the protagonist too
I think when Dutch mentioned that they widowed Sadie and he called them animals even though he has probably widowed hundreds of women I think he meant them intentionally windowing her without it being necessary
Actually they didn’t change it, they just have alternative certain lines to spice up replay and they change at random
@@RUSTYCHEVYTRUCK Oh well, guess I’ll need to start my seven millionth playthrough 😂
I find that the most distinctive article of "O'Driscoll" attire is the green neckerchief. There are many NPCs in the game that wear a long grayish colored riding coat, but the O'Driscoll's are the only ones who wear a green neckerchief. Some of them even have green bands around their hats..
the most important thing is that Arthur kinda liked Arturo Bullard (the flight instructor)
With the caveat of NOT playing as Dutch, yes. Introduce a new character who either bails or dies before the Blackwater job

Also Dutch: “They were talking!?”

THEY WAS TALKING
@@marloncarbajal5492 I read this, heard Dutch saying it and Micah shaking his head and felt the frustration of Arthur. Maybe because I just went through this mission again.
Dutch was begging arhtur to get micah becuz tthey was "talking" about hanging him. 2 but when it happens to John he takes his time
In reference to what Kieran said when explaining the similarities between the O'Driscolls and the Van DER Lind gang during the horse ride to "Six Point Cabin", you said that once you strip all of Dutch's "philosophy bull$hit" away, that the O'Driscolls and Dutch's crew aren't that different.
16:10 Can we take the time to notice the fact that this O'Driscoll took a bullet in the noggin for one of his fellow members.
A meaningless sacrifice
Too bad Fishy had high velocity ammo I think. His sacrifice shall be remembered, despite being very meaningless, and maybe on accident too.

Just watching the beginning of this and never thought about the fact that the horse in the stable (Arthur's starting horse) could likely have been Jake or Sadie's horse
I love Sadie so much, her character might be the best side character that stays in the picture ever like oh my GOODness
Yes, she was a good partner.
That pride and confidence on o'driscoll face changing into fear as he realises he's about to die is just muah
I always loved Arthur's "Thank You" when he gets saved by duffy
I love O’Driscolls for all the reasons of being the enemy. The one thing I think that is really cool that the Van Der Linde gang does do is have a color code. I love that they all rep the Color green. Gives more of a gang feel and more stereotypical of outlaw gangs.
The fact that the O’driscolls and the Van Der Linde gang being allies was actually a true fact
This can be heard from in one of the side missions in chapter three when you go fishing with Javier
Gotta admit. It was satisfying seeing the realization and fear hit Colm's face at the gallow.
Kieran didn't lead the O'driscolls to the camp, they found them
So happy to watch this. Thank you. I'm new to the game. Only had it a month. But I'm addicted. I'm sorry I spoiled myself but it's all good. I had to restart the game from chapter 5 to get everything done with Arthur that I could before he started coughing. Beat it with high honor
Good for you my dude, very worth it imo.
The burning of the Adler Homestead was the first clue that Micah was a traitor. It denied the gang adequate shelter and the huge fire might have been seen by pursuers.
I thought about that too, but at the same time, the O'Driscolls know about the place, so idk if its really safe
I do enjoy breakdowns like this. Over an hour and I wanted more by the end. Thanks and good work.
@@OakNuggins Not saying that every character deserves their own game. I'm talking about before he ended up getting involved in gangs.
Fuckimg Rockstar prevents Kieran ranching stimulator sounds fun to you bro? Like you get your ass beat and whine like a bitch then u join the odriscills get smacked and the game ends. Idk what kinda games you have played bu im ood on ranching as a character that has like three moments before he dies years before his death
man i'm so glad sadie is the main factor of killing off all the o'driscolls. i was thinking that she was just going to be an average housewife type of girl and hell did she prove me wrong. she's reckless and has a death wish but she really put on the show for me. wish we had more characters like sadie in video games. a fiery, strong, and reckless girl who's out for blood.
I remember a mission where Arthur goes fishing with Kieran. While fishing Arthur tells Kieren says that Dutch and Colm used to work together.
No. The only reason they went there was to ask for help. They weren't there to kill the owners and rob them
It's unlikely. They might have robbed them, but they probably wouldn't have killed them.
They likely wouldn't. At worst they would of held Jake at gunpoint and made him give them supplies, but they wouldn't of killed him.
1:18:12 probably isn't the first cut in the video to save people from spoilers but it's the first one I noticed and appreciated
Dude this was a fantastic video. Even though RDO is dead, RDR2’s story is one of the greatest video game tales ever made. 👍🏽
I love the way that rockstar animated Colm oDriscolls face as he was about to die the amount of fear
I know it probably won't happen, but I'd like to see the next game have us play as, or at least heavily feature, Sadie. Total badass.
There’s no redemption in her story, so you wouldn’t be able to play as her
Personally I think Sadie should have been the prologue character, but that would have caused neckbeard rage
@@TheDownrankTrain I hope you mean because she’s a terribly written character, not because she’s a woman.

Nah, not at this point.
Sadie's character arc from scared and broken housewife, to badass rough rider is what made her one of my favorite characters in RDR2.
Congrats mate. You’re nearly at 300k subs. Keep going. 👍
That's a tough pic of the O'driscoll gang. I want that coat with the fur collar the Colm is rocking. 😆

Kieran was pretty alright for an O'Driscoll... 😔
Rip Kieran
I like how at 29:21 you can see keiran giving arthur a thumbs-up
Kieran is such a cutie patootie
By the way. In 1899 was one of the heaviest snow storms ever. Tiny detail :)

When I first got terbiculosis as Arthur I thought it was because of the conditions you were in when Arthur is captured by colm
This mans self control is thru the ROOF! How he managed to refrain from insulting Micah at the start is beyond me
Funny how Colm expected his men to fight things he didn't want to face himself.
Or maybe they were all real shitty and I'm misremembering these systems for a time when I ate some really great McDonalds. Getting old is really just a whole lotta fun! The mind starts playin' tricks, but luckily it starts not giving a fuck, either.

He either knew something was up with the agent and micah or something in general and they gunned him down
Thats.. a very interesting idea, actually.

after seeing Kieran with his head off unexpectedly I literally raged and completed the mission with headless o Driscolls then went to hunt more and busted their head off too with a shotgun
Love that you're still making this. Breathing interest into this game that rockstar seems hellbent to squander.
I think the beginning of the game is so good. So cinematic and links well. Hate leaving the snow too honestly.
Seems the machine gun goes missing later in the game.
the way Dutch left Arthur for dead instantly made me hate Dutch
The whole playing in game audio then repeating everything they said word for word is pretty spot on. Really good work buddy.
