Love your style! Not just great leatherwork, but outstanding videography. Best of all, no inane commentary, no annoying background noise (aka music), and you never point the camera at your face. I wish all of UA-cam could learn those lessons.
I've made a bunch of these, made my own wooden mold back in 2015, still holding up. Presently making another purse for a relative. I always, always have a hard time around the bottom corners. I often leave wrinkles in it and look at it as having hand made character. People love those creases. It makes me want to yell or laugh, not sure which. Nice videos.
I’m just loving these quiet, masterful videos! You’ve managed to offer something fresh to UA-cam and that’s not easy. I also appreciate the production value in each of your videos that I’ve watched today. Without music, graphics or VO, you’re giving us beautifully produced work. I’m deeply impressed...and I’m a producer, so that ain’t easy to do. Kudos!!
I've struggled with wet forming and had some less than stellar results. Seems I've learned a thing or two from your video! Thanks for the demonstration of how it's supposed to be done.
It's a very good motivaton, to see you do all the projects that you do. And I will try to make the purse... thank you is very different from all the regular bags.
I wholeheartedly agree about the quality of your work and the quality of your videos. I have a couple of questions about the leather that you are using to make the bag. Firstly, is leather that you used “protected” against stains or rain? When I have used a similar hide, it makes so easily. Secondly, if I want to wet mould a treated leather such as English Bridle, would I have to adjust your method? I can see that I might have to leave it longer to get wet and get dry.
I like your custom wet leather, wooden mold. I think you could make an extra wooden frame for the outside, that is used to press and stretch the excess leather flat. Holding it in place, while the leather dried over night. It could br held in place with simple spring clamps, or some more elaborate system.
I really don't need such a bag. But after I watched you building it I truly want to either have one or better build one. Really great video and even greater product!
I wish I had as much leather to waste as you seem to have. However your stitching technique (without a pony) is an education for me. I learn something every time I watch one of your vids. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and technique. Do you do any tooling you’d like to share? Again, thanks.
very nice i ordered the lil wonder from weaver (just waitin on del) will try to fabricate a mold and give this a shot ive only been leather crafting for a cpl months or so wish me well pls lol tyfs :)
thanks a lot for this vidéo: I've learned a lot looking at It and my first wet molded bag was a success thanks to this knowledge. one more time, a great thank you!
Hi there, your work is so beautiful! Does it work with any core height? How high is it your mold? I ask because I have tried 2 times so far and I couldn't reach the bottom without wrinkles, my height was 4 cm and leather thickness 2.5mm. :( If you have some extra tip , please let me know. Thank you for your time! Have a nice day!
I use a scalpel with fresh blades as soon as I feel it needs but corners are my nemesis. I just cannot get a lovely smooth corner and that’s let me down on so many of my bags
Omfg !! I have limited edition bags from Chanel they are handmade and i love them the quality of the Stiches and the edges are looking as good as yours !! Please tell me you have a online shop ?
This is a cool looking bag! You do this tutorial in a way that's very easy to understand and copy, bravo! It is an incredible bag and extremely attractive.
Can i join to wet molded leather to make a boxy look? I mean i thought about the conventional way of making a squared bag.. but im curious if i can wet mold two sides and join them to for the two halves of the bag?
I'm just planning to make a phone holder that fits a squarish phone (samsung z flip).. but i wonder if i can make two halves of wet molded leather as one mini bag.. a mini crossbody perhaps
That means there'll be no stitches all around but planning to join them with magnets when closed.. or button rivets (not sure of the material) and then use screw rivets to include d-ring for the sling
But ofcourse maybe i have to add few centimeters to make the edges and should probably stitch for better look? Haha sorry my first time and i had a lot of idea. Your crafts inspired me
Sorry this old leather smith thought I wrote it down. It's dish soap, it changes the molecular status of the water, the leather upsorbs the mixture more completely, in a lot less time. ✝️⚾🙃
One thing I've boticed, you hardly ever finish your pieces, not even a coat of oil... seems they'd get dirty quickly from normal use, where a finish would give some protection....

Every style is different.

Watching the mold get made was just excellent. I’ve been doing leather for a while and honestly haven’t seen it done before. Thanks!
So pretty! I love how you added a beautifully designed enclosure!

Love the simplicity of the design and the leather closure.
Beautiful design. Wonderful leather techniques. Elegant and simple.
So satisfying, a true form of craftsmanship ♥️

Lovely video, lovely bag. I like the all-leather bag-closure too.

Leather is such an amazing material. Beautiful work!
Poplar, titebond, brads at 45, and a random orbit sander. As a fellow woodworker/leatherman I SALUTE YOU! -Virtus

Love this. Nice closure 👍👍👍
First of all - Great Video! Secondly- That closure is SO stinkin’ cool! Y’all really turned it out this time 👍👍🥳🥇🎇
I’d like to make a leather rope halter for a horse and saw how you closed the bag, great idea, what material did you use that is on the spool? Thanks
thanks a lot for this vidéo: I've learned a lot looking at It and my first wet molded bag was a success thanks to this knowledge. one more time, a great thank you!

Beautiful!👍👍👍
What type of white cloth is that used for burnishing? And what's its purpose(compared to a normal edge slicker)?

I have to say - your corner and circle cutting skills with that xacto simply amaze me! lol. How many blades have snapped on you?
I use a scalpel with fresh blades as soon as I feel it needs but corners are my nemesis. I just cannot get a lovely smooth corner and that’s let me down on so many of my bags
What spacing in chisel was actually used making this bag out of 8-10 oz leather, 3, 4 or 5 mm?
Omfg !! I have limited edition bags from Chanel they are handmade and i love them the quality of the Stiches and the edges are looking as good as yours !! Please tell me you have a online shop ?
Martin Gades, corterleather.com/ that’s his online shop.
This is a cool looking bag! You do this tutorial in a way that's very easy to understand and copy, bravo! It is an incredible bag and extremely attractive.
So how do you like the Little Wonder from Weavers? Is it a quality press? Highly Recommend?

Can't wait to be able to afford a purse from you. It will happen lol. You do beautiful work.
A pleasure as always, what do you use to finish your edges?
Thank you! Gum Trag :)
A suggestion, a triangle of holes on both sides of the bag and straps with lace instead of rivets, looks just as good and holds the same. ✝️⚾🙃
I love it man?!
Clicked on your link for the pattern and was unable to find it.
Very very Good

If U would add a drop or 2 no more to the water it will mold easier. Just a suggestion from a leather smith. GOD'S BLESSINGS SISTER ✝️⚾ 🙃
Jim Athey
A drop or two of what?
Sorry this old leather smith thought I wrote it down. It's dish soap, it changes the molecular status of the water, the leather upsorbs the mixture more completely, in a lot less time. ✝️⚾🙃
Please made a leather cap
