I'm so grateful that you talk while you craft, tell us what you're doing and throw out tips and stuff. I tried to find a couple other leatherworking channels but most of them don't talk or they only talk a little and I really like the commentary.
This video couldn't have come out at a better time. Working on a my first make up bag and was trying to figure out how to do the gusset. I made a wooden model then covered it in masking tape then cut it off whe way I wanted it to go together. To find the piece sizes. But this looks way easier. Plus was trying to figure out how to taper the top. Thank you so much again!
Looks so nice. I want to try a gusset like that. I have only ever done the turned ones, and as a novice, they prove to be so difficult to get clean looking. can't wait for the next video.
Because of your videos and you talking up Weaver leather... im dropping $200 into their leather. Thank you for supporting my love for leather goods! ❤️
About to be free-styling my next project, and i have no on earthly idea on how to even get an idea on the rough size I'll need. Looking at making a bulgarian bag for a trucker while he's on the road.
A true craftsman, you make it look so easy. Your videos inspire me to keep working at my own leather skills and get better and better. Thanks so much for posting. I always learn something! 💯👍
Cant really wait for Part 2. of this. Love your work and the way that you explain leathercraft. I want to make my mom a Bag for her Birthday and i really love this design. Keep up the great work!
A beautiful bag 😍 I couldn’t find the pattern of this piece from the link in the description box. Grateful if you could share the pattern to us. Thanks a lot.
This video is fantastic. If someone were just getting into leather work and wanted to make a crossbody bag, what would be the best way to practice that? Is there a medium that would allow the practice and the mistakes without wasting materials? Or is it just a case of fail until you succeed and eat the material costs?
I'd love it if you showed how to make a drawstring bucket bag in the future! Thank you for all of the amazing content; I've just discovered your channel and I've been binge-watching just about every video! You excel at your craft.
As I watched this video I just had to get out some leather and.follow along . Yours will probably look way better than mine but practice makes perfect . Thanks for the wonderful video Can't wait to see pt 2 .
Nice bag. I've got the front, back and gusset cut but unless I missed it, you didn't show the measurements/shape of the flap. Hope you mention that in your 2nd video.
Thank you for these videos! I'm looking to get into the luxury handbag market in the future. I'll be making the first run of 300 bags myself. I do wonder how long that will take lol. But again, thank you!
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, it's going 2 B Interesting 2 C the rest, I like the idea that U R finally doing LARGER PROJECTS Eric, U do Great work, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
It's looking great so far, and definitely for one project where you're just "winging it." Might I be able to get away with this project using 3 to 4 oz leather though?
Clicked on the link for tools and materials but there are three leathers listed. This video seems to use only a single hide. Am I mistaken? I thought this was made from a single hide of 7 oz so why does the website show three? Can someone advise on which leather I would need to buy to make this bag?
I've been wanting to get into leatherworking for some time now, how much would this project cost just for the leather? Also how much should I expect to pay for all the equipment so I can get started please?
Depends the type of leather and depends on the quality of tools you buy. However, I would recommend getting the cheapest leather you can get in the beginning and start with smaller projects because you want the flexibility to mess up. Tandy sells double shoulders of veg tan for like 60 bucks ish. That’s a steal!
@@SuffyGames 10 months for an answer but I still have not pushed to get the ball rolling. I wanted to make wallets for Christmas presents but I don't expect I will manage it in time for this year. Thank you for taking the time to educate me.
I looked away for a sec. I turned back to the vid right at 10:48 and I thought you had lifted your shirt and you were rubbing your belly. Pretty confused for a second there.
I would love to get started in Leather craft, you've really inspired me! Currently due to Covid, there aren't any in person workshops/ courses in my country, do you know any good online courses for a beginner?
We do our best to put out lots of beginner content! Check our back catalogue on UA-cam, it's all free and we've got lots of info videos and simple beginner projects :)
Well well well, when I put on ma leather, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
that slight taper on the front really screwed me up. stitch count are not the same as the back. and when you start at the ends well it goes all crooked
It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on the craftsmen and quality inspection. My family and I have purchased D U P B A G Y bags over the past three years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
I commented on another video about an order I placed back in November that still has not arrived. I was told to reach out on Instagram, and I did so and still complete radio silence from Corter.... I just want my belts that I ordered or I want my money back
@@BrownJello Did you buy a belt? If so, would highly recommend Hank's Belts. I bought the Corter belt so I could compare with Hank's, but Hank's has great customer service, unlike Corter....
when you realize he’s doing this for his mom makes it even more precious
Always a joy to watch a true craftsman in action.

Always learn things from these vids, thank you. Hope your weekends a great one. Stay warm, see ya on the next one.
I love these where you explain your reasons and process for what you’re doing. Helps so much to learn how to design elements of our own projects 👍
Is the pattern for this still available? I don't see it on the Corner site :( I'd love to make this!! Beautiful work as always :D
Have some 5/6oz Water Buffalo from Weaver, and I think something like this might be the next project for it!
Those hides make beautiful bags :)

How do I know how long to make the gusset
I am working on a pattern for this because I am not as good as you! Will you share with me the approximate dimensions of the flap?
What type of glue are you using? I can't find the info in tools and materials.

What are the dimensions for the gusset??
How do you punch with only tapping lightly? I have to bang with a hammer-hard!
