I am legally handicap! I have five implants in my right hand! I was seriously considering quiting my leather work. But you have open a whole new world of possibilities. Stay Blessed 🙏 I am very grateful. Is hard, to allow your body to imprisoned or to put limits on your creativity. I love your channel! Thank you, again! Stay healthy and keep those wheels turning.
Seen my cousin do some amazing work creating knives and shelves out of steel and leather with some crippling injuries from year's past.
Inspiring..thank you!

God bless you Ruth. I am of similar circumstances and praise God, I'm learning a new craft/trade...leather craft..

Atomic Pete - Amen. ROLL CHUCK ROLL
I love this guy's enthusiasm!
If I could only get people so enthusiastic about taking their country back!!!
This video might be from four years ago, but I keep coming back to it for a refresher as I continue to learn. Chuck is an amazing teacher, someone give this man a raise please.
Excellent as always!! You never disappoint Chuck!
That's something I've struggled with. Good to see your tips and some options I haven't considered! I'd like to see another wet molding video with more ideas in the near future.
LOVED this video!!! I think videos like this are justified to run longer. Keep looking for more of your videos
I click the like button before the subject starts because Chuck sounds always awesome and fun!!
I love it. Thank you for showing a couple different techniques for molding.
Such a useful video. My heart is flying with inspiration for all of the new projects I can start! Wet forming is a whole new world of leather craft for me!
Thanks for the great info I am going to pick up some wood dowels for my next project. Great tip
Chuck, I just love you. I love your energy, your enthusiasm and your guidance. Thank you so much, for all these great videos.
Thank you so much!
Stumbled upon your channel while figuring out the best way to do leather cover bookbinding. great teaching, clear voice, common words, easy to follow instructions. Thank you.
Thanks for the tips. I do most of what you showed except my fingernails are a little long and I have messed up some stuff. Haven't ever used the frame , but will try it. After i trim my nails!
Always nice to "see" you.
Good one Chuck looks easier than I thought thanks 🤠👍
Getting ready to tackle making a tool pouch, this clears the air on several things.
This guy is awesome. Yes, love his enthusiasm! Very informative, 2 thumbs up!
Love the way you explain things - makes it very easy to follow and exciting for a beginner. Thank you
Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful!
Easiest guy to learn from.....hands down.......thank you for these videos!
Absolutely LOVE it!!! And just in time too!! I want to fix a leather-bottom feed bag that has pursings, and interior gaps, and was wondering HOW I'd be able to go about this. Super excited, now.
Thanks Chuck. You're always fun & entertaining to watch.
Great to hear, so glad it was helpful!
Man, did you just open a whole new world of creativity for me, Chuck. For example, in keeping with your pouch demonstration it occurred to me to enclose all four sides for a shadow box effect. Fasten plexiglas, etc., (Chicago screws), to the flat sides and there you go! Thank you.
That is awesome! :) Thank you so much for doing this video. I have an original leather cavalry scabbard from WW1, meant to be used with a 12ga Winchester 1897 "trench gun." I have never seen another one anywhere. It is probably still useable for re-enactments, but I wouldn't want to risk damaging it in any way. After watching your video, I feel fairly confident that I could make another to use with my trench gun :) The scabbard itself is just two long pieces, formed to fit the gun, which would be easy to do using a carved block of wood. If anything, the various straps and buckles would be the difficult part.
These vids are platinum. Thanks you.
That is so helpful. The method I was about to try was much more complicated and the results looked the same. Brilliant! Thanks from the UK
Thanks for watching, hope it goes well for you!
You are truly a master of the craft
😉👍. Just in time. Project I’d is works on. Thank Chuck.
Thanks Chuck, English is not my native language but I think that you have great communications skills and although you speak fast your diction is perfect and I can understand everything you say without a glitch. Your skills, knowledge and your communications skills makes you a superb teacher best of them all. Keep the enthusiasm and passion spicing all presentations. Thanks again.
I can’t wait to try this out! The cost of buying a mold for wet forming is crazy. I imagine if you were mass producing then it might be cost effective but with your methods they seem like they could last just as long if taken care of AND you get the benefit of personalization. You are awesome sir and Weaver Leather has a true treasure in in you.
Thank you, Choya!
Awesome tips and advice. Can’t wait to try it. Stay safe and well dude. Thank you
Another great video Chuck you are definitely a teacher
Nice to see an option for forming it by hand, makes it a lot easier to do in my apartment! Thanks!
Thank you for your video. I started making multi tool sheaths and knife sheaths. I made molds using wood, a lot of thought went into making them and turned out to be a very functional. I learned to use my fingers to push leather onto mold before putting it into mold. I will subscribe to your channel, I'm sure you teach me more😎
Great demonstration 👍
Something as simple as that. Great job 👍
Chuck, you're awesome.
Wow! Needed to understand how to shape leather. No more questions Sir!
Chuck another Great Video !!! always enjoy watching all your videos keep up the good WORK !!!!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for this and your other videos! Fabulous detail for newbies like me.
Thank you so much, so glad the videos are helpful!
I love this channel, I’m glad I found it
The sanded wooden mould is a great idea , thanks for the vid 😁
Another wonderful instructional, mate. You are fantastic.
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this awesome video. Honestly I love your groovy vibes and fun voice. Your descriptions are very easy to follow, and enjoyable to learn. I just started leather work, since I'm trying to find fun hobbies since I'm disabled and have a hard time finding something to keep my spirits up, and feel like I can do something with what I'm able. Again thanks so much for the fun and groovy video. 😁
Thank you, James!
@@WeaverLeatherSupply you're very welcome!
You've really helped me work on my cosplay! Thanks for all these leather tips. You're so helpful and the tutorial is really easy to follow!
Thank you, I'm so glad!
Do you have an IG or some place you post your costumes?
Hi Chuck,
Terrific and informative. Thanks.
I'd really like to see how you embed wire or other raised designs under a wet form mold. Also when and how to we do add stamping, like initials, onto a dried wet form.
And longer Leather Elements videos please, Chuck, so we can follow a piece from wet form, to stamping, to dyes and paint, and adding harware to the finished product.
Lee! Thanks for the comments! I am so glad you’re happy with the videos! Look back to a Leather Element where I show the molds and you’ll see a mold with some baling wire. This is just glued on with some white glue. It doesn’t need to be super solid since we’re just pressing down on it (and so you can remove it or add something else), but, it does need to be somewhat secure so it doesn’t move while we’re forming. Since you asked I’ll get a video together on this one! On adding some design you can stamp while the leather is on the form as long as it’s a flat surface. Adding some minor tooling or stamping can be done prior to forming but it can work out if pressed too hard.

WoW! just found your site. Thanks for such informative vid. will be watching more!
love the enthusiasm, no joke!
can't wait to try this out :)
My hands hurt so much I've been dreading the holster I want to build. I bought a vacuum food saver very cheap from Walmart and a BlueGun in the shape of the pistol I plan to shape onto so it doesn't meet wet leather. This video gave me great ideas on what to do to fit in my finer details. Thank you Sir!
Easy and the sky is the limit. Thanks!
New to this craft, I am a wood worker but love your video awesome job, Cheers Mate!
Again new learn thank you sir chuck and weader

Chuck, I met you years ago at Trandy in Lawrenceville, GA. You were just as enthusiastic back then. Nice video. I'm a subscriber.
Thank you, Rick!
YOU ARE THE GREATEST ! thanks for the info !!
Really you are a gentleman thank you for your effort, please look forward
I've been contemplating forming my cheaper leather holster to get a better fit. Thanks for the guidance.
Thank you for watching! So glad the video was helpful!
Really happy to have come across your posts as your piece on wet molding solved a rather unusual problem. I recently picked up a 1920's cast iron hand water pump. My wife thought I was mad and I'd never actually be able to use it! Taking it apart I discovered some broken pieces of hard, what was this? Then I realised that the pump shaft had a metal valve and the odd bits were hardened crumbly leather ring seal. I have some 5mm leather but how to produce the cup shaped leather seal that is on the end of the shaft. Well a wooden pole sanded smooth acted as the former and the mold was just a jubilee clip gradually tightened around the wet worked leather worked perfectly. just had to cut the hole in the centre to fix it to the shaft. I have a working pump, thanks! Pity I can't load some images you could have a look! Keep up the posts really great lessons here. Chris
thank you so much for this video!
Also I wanted to say, talking is completely welcome. The best teachers I've ever had were the ones that talked a lot. As they were teaching something they would unconsciously give you little insights that they screwed up, or know of a short cut etc. The stories about other people were also things that you would learn from. You probably don't even realize that you are doing it so talk away.
Great video as usual
Great informative video! I’ve been doing this for years but I’m sure lots don’t know how. You might show how you can take an object like a gun or something that water will harm, and wrap it with several layers of cling wrap to protect it, and then hand form leather over it to make a holster!
Excellent budy....
You are a real entertainer sir!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Just getting in to leatherworking and watching this video realized (A) I've been needing a better sunglasses case and (B) what a straightforward and easy thing that would be to pattern, mold, and sew custom
thanks! great tutorial, simple and clear
Thank you for the vid.
I do a lot of bent lamination in woodworking and I've found a ton of similarities between the two. I use MDF because it's easier to shape. Once I'm done I cover the MDF surface in packing tape to seal it up. I don't really spend a lot of time handworking except to rough it in, I just make a negative like you did with the 2x2 but use the same MDF covered in packing tape to push on top of it and clamp it down while it dries. Works great.
Good info. Thanks!
yes this guy is quick and upbeat :)
I just recently decided to get into leather craft. Unfortunately I can’t afford any tools or leather haha, but thanks for the great tutorial to help me gain some knowledge in the meantime!
This is a very good video. Thanks
"More mold, less talk" got me :-).
Thanks I saw your video and repaired office are chair one side much better than the other. I would never have tried it without your video. P. S. I made a couple of knives sheaths.
That's great to hear, thank you for watching!
Thank you for the information 🙏 very helpful ! I have a cool idea now 😎
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome.
crazy cool man!
You missed a nice little detail Chuck, if you use a mold like that, it'll allow you to do some stamping while it's locked in place and still wet! No shortage of projects or details we can work on. Absolutely love your channel. So much fun and you have an energy and passion for the craft like no other.
Thanks for the tip! And for watching, we appreciate your support.
First "Leather Element" video I've seen. Have been inspired to subscribe. Appreciate your energetic and sincere manner of presentation...and the order in your shop. Just noticed that you started this "You Tube" site a couple of weeks ago. Thank you.
I've have done some leather work, but not wet molding. This will add valuable dimension to my work. Thanks again, for sharing your knowledge. I will visit your store, "Weaver Leathercraft" online.
Thanks so much for watching, Daniel!
A video a chaps would be cool. There’s a few out there on getting the measurements, bur they don’t really go in depth on actually using them to make your pattern. Thank you for another great lesson.
Was just gona ask for a chaps video!
Thank you now I’m ready to work on my bobber seat .nice video
Hey Chuck nice meeting you down at the show in Sheridan have a great day from all the boys at Buckhorn leather
Great meeting you, thanks for stopping by!
Great, Thanks
Very informative and direct to the point. Thank you from a new subscriber. ;)
EXELENT TUTORIAL
Thank you, Valmir!
Awesome
You are amazing
Such enthusiasm wish you was my teacher
fantastic
thanks dude
I’d love to see a leather element describing the different types of veg tan (harness vs strap vs bridle vs holster) & chrome/oil tanned leather and outline the different aspects of the leather. Does it tool? Does it mold? How do you wet it? What can you use it for? What are the limitations? What do the different terms mean? Thanks!
Hi Tom,
We've done a few different videos on types of leather, I'll link them below but if we missed something let us know!

thank you, I just learned how to wet form.
thank you sir
you teach me alot
Love this vid....and I `m gonna have a go at making some stuff for family and friends....a vital point I could mention re: the mould ....the male part of the mould should be much smaller than the female mould ....I actually added 5.5mm mm to the female mould so the leather fits ( using 2mm thick leather ).
Great as ever;)
Brilliant video! Followed along with your knife sheath videos and I made an amazing sheath and threw away the cheap nylon thing that came with it, onto the question, how do you measure your wooden moulds? I understand the piece that the leather wraps around is exactly what you want but the wooden frame, does the internal measurements have to account for the leather weight, or does the frame and the wooden mould butt right up next to each other? Thank you and keep up with your amazing videos!
Çok güzel bilgiler, teşekkürler.
