      The Bones built-in BEC is good up to 6S which is what powers the DJI FPV. If you are really concerned about it, you could install an inline BEC to knock it down to 5V before it gets to the camera. Something like this amzn.to/3BcHjlw

    So, have you flown this yet? If so, how is the GoPro footage? Any vibrations or jello?
    I just purchased the hard plastic top shell with built in GoPro mount hardware. It makes my drone fly and sound horribly. There is so much vibration that it's completely useless.
    Hope the style you have works well?

    • @AerialPixel
      @AerialPixel  2 роки тому

      Just like with traditional FPV drones you really need a soft mount to dampen any vibrations coming from the drone. A hard mount isn't good on any drone including the DJI FPV drone, heavy vibrations cause issues with the Gyro in the GoPro. We've sold over 2K of our mounts now, they are even used by professional cinematographers, if installed properly and with the correct camera setting you won't have any issues with the Aerial-Pixel top mount.

      Now that there is no shielding on your Naked Hero 8 you will need to turn off WiFi on the GoPro. When WiFi is on it causes some RF interference. The easiest way to do this is using the QR Control app in the PREFS tab.

      When not using the GoPro, You could route the cable through the canopy?

    • @AerialPixel

      I did the XT30 connector so I could easily remove it when not flying with a naked camera, also so I could interchange between my other naked camera connectors easily. But of course if you want to you could solder the GoPro cable directly, there isn't a lot of places to tuck it in and keep it secure though, if it came out you'd chop it up in the props, and that's a lot of voltage running through those little cables. I personally wouldn't recommend it.

    If I connect the gopro to battery drone like video, what is the time to fly with connected camera?

    • @AerialPixel
      @AerialPixel  Рік тому

      The battery drain from the camera is minimal. There will be a slight decrease in flight time from the weight and wind resistance of the payload though. This will all depend on the size and weight of the camera used. If using the GoPro Bones, reduction of flight time is very little, less than 10%, if using a full size GoPro you will notice a difference.

    Hello, how long it flies with gopro bones?

    • @AerialPixel
      @AerialPixel  2 роки тому

      Flight times all depend on how you fly, you should expect slightly shorter flight times due to the extra little bit of weight and it not being as aerodynamic.

  • @INTELMAXELL
    @INTELMAXELL 2 роки тому

    Will this lower your flight times with the added weight and extra power draw? How long is your flight time?

    • @AerialPixel
      @AerialPixel  2 роки тому +1

      With the naked cameras flight times are reduced much less compared to a full size GoPro. Changes in flight characteristics a much less too. Expect to lose 5-10% in flight time adding a naked camera, mileage will vary depending on how you fly.

    • @FromTheGroundUP627
      @FromTheGroundUP627 2 місяці тому

      Your going to lose 5-10% in battery just with the added weight alone....your also going to lose another 10% minimum by powering the camera of the drone battery....maybe even more than that.

    I took mine to a local hobby shop, they watched your video, then when they finished, installed the battery and plugged in the go pro and I swore I herd something like an electrical pop maybe, I think they didn’t put the blue stuff over the solder point where they soldered the female end of the connector to the power grab and I think the balls were making contact with the heat shield and shorted. 😒 what do I do. Buy a whole new drone? Is there a way to swap out that mother board? Is there a fuse maybe? Idk anything about drones and I have no idea what to do.

    • @AerialPixel
      @AerialPixel  2 роки тому

      It does sound like they shorted something. First desolder what they did in case it is still shorting out. If it still doesn't work you can probably just replace the ESC board. cloudcitydrones.com/collections/dji-fpv-series-parts/products/dji-fpv-esc-board
      Not sure if I would trust the same hobby shop to do the replacement though.

    Lost 2 DJI FPV's with this. The Wifi cut my signal as well as RTH functions! The Camera with this mounting sits directly ontop of the gps unit of drone. Gopro bones works better with other ( regular configuration) drones where it sits farther away!

    • @AerialPixel
      @AerialPixel  5 місяців тому +1

      Use the mount that we offer, the camera sits as far to the front of the GPS as possible on the aircraft, several inches away from the GPS. We've sold thousands of them and remains our best selling item to date with no issues. There are several other mounts out there where the camera sits further back and is on top of the GPS, which is obviously not good. Be sure to turn WiFi on the GoPro off (using QR Control is the easiest way). Hero 10 11 and 12 are worse with RF interference compared to 9 and earlier but GoPro Bones is fine.

If you do experience that with GoPro's you can try turning off the WiFi on the camera. Also if you are using another mount than ours make sure the mount or camera aren't covering the GPS.
