The RC remote trigger to record straight from the MoBo / Flight controller chipset is an amazing integration. Proud of GoPro for finally acknowledging the FPV community and providing long anticipated updates. A new product release I'm excited about!
Great review but I have some tips regarding stabilization tools. Combining the hypersmooth footage with reelsteady stabilization is what's causing the awful jitters and smearing in the footage. I don't know why they recommended that you do that. Reelsteady needs the most information possible so the lower the crop the better. Hypersmooth will always be inferior to post stabilization because it's trying to do the same calculations but with less information. It has to predict what will happen in real time and stabilize based on that but reelsteady can look ahead in the footage and make sure the stabilization is consistent all the way through. Also, the more times that you stack these stabilization tools, the more motion blur that you get. Sometimes it becomes unusable because of that. Keep up the great work man

The stuttering and motion blur in the video was pretty distracting if you ask me. It's a cool idea to mount a lightweight camera to a FPV drone but it needs to have some better stabilisation I guess.
Flat image profile, NDs filter, 180 shutter angle rule, no sharpening, WB dependent on situation - then in post adjust contrast a little, add a look LUT subtly and done. Really not much magic to it.
I see You are using hypersmooth but be careful with the shutter speed, because when it is to dark, the hypersmooth takes a lot of shutter speed for more brightness video and the picture seems like about 20 FPS. It doesent look like motion blur but like 480p video. I recomend to set shutter speed manualy to twice bigger than FPS settings, maybe more and ISO between 100 and 400.

Hey Joey! We met on the REDUCATION course last year. Could you share camera settings, please? The colour profile, resolution choice seamed to preserve so much dynamic range and colour depth. Could you share the resolution, frame rate, colour profile and colour grading process? I’ve got a shoot coming up in London where I’m directing a FVP drone pilot and I need to get the best possible quality out of the GoPro :)

we didn't do any massive durability tests but we did have a couple crashes onto a deck like wood floor from about 7 ft up directly onto the GoPro and there was no signs of damage.

Gotcha, I can answer that. Yes it is the combination of a) the low shutter speed of 1/48th to achieve cinematic motion blur and b) the hypersmooth stabilisation. If you have shaky footage that has motion blur in it stabilised it looks like a pulsing vibration in the final result.
I want a camera with a better light sensor for filming at night and that has the possibility of connecting a 3.5 jack microphone without having to install annoying adapters. Until they bring those new improvements I WILL NO BUY IT, you have to think about the vloggers too. Im guessing the drone got cought on something (probably in the holes) and created high frequency vibrations which are hard to remove. 2 solutions would be to redo the shot without getting it stuck or having a rubber mounted camera mount like the GepRc CineLog 25 has.

The refrigerator shot is very sus with all the overheating issues.. But joking aside the only thing I am wondering is, does it overheat.
We did not have any issues shooting. Truth is that the flights are short and also had fairly cold day.

@VertiBird FPV I do not think the DJI FPV Drone has a 5v pad marked but I might be wrong.
you'll probably have to find another way to power it as I wouldn't recommend soldering something to the FC yourself on that drone.
