this is probably the 25th video I've looked at trying to understand how to rewire my ignition VW B4V. Now I finally comprehend in less than 3 minutes. THANK YOU!

Love this visual depiction of a typical ignition switch. Half the issue with auto electricals is understanding how the components actually work. Once people get to grips with the ' physical mechanics' involved, the nature of the problem, and the solution, is much easier to fugure out. This is one of the reasons I'm not a big fan of modern vehicles. While the electronic components are usually pretty reliable, the ability to understand and figure out how they work is beyond the scope of most home mechanics, which usually means replacement is the only option..... good for component manufacturers, not good for your pocket or use of resources. The potential to build in short-term life expectancy is exploited by the industry. I've a 12v battery charger at home that's over fifty years old and still works perfectly to this day. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Lease excuse my dumbheadedness, I have watched your explanation of the ignition switch,..but I don't understand where to connect the wire from my warning bulb to the prongs of the ignition switch.
Is it the "s" prong, or the "A" prong?..??

Your channel has been helping me a ton on my 71 olds. I have a problem and maybe you can help me with it. I turned on my headlight switch. Car wasn’t started. It slowly dimmed and now the car won’t start. I seem to have power everywhere until I pull out the light switch or try to turn the key over. If you have any ideas, I appreciate it. I can’t find anything on it anywhere else.

don’t turn headlights on before starting the car. you probably have an alternator that isn’t charging or a dying battery., check that stuff out.. is the alternator original style?

@@chriscraft77022 thanks! You were right. I feel really dumb now, my battery was showing over 12v but I guess it had a dead cell or something. Good news I found all kinds of stuff that needed fixed that I never would have found otherwise. Your vids have been great and a life saver. Keep it up. It’s greatly appreciated.

Would like to know how to wire radio so it works without need for ignition key as in acc position with engine off it cuts out and is very annoying. It draws so little current at very low volume that 2 hours should be insignificant

Great job with the video. You have a talent for visual representation. I work in film/video/audio. You would be very good at making corporate tutorial videos. Idk where you are located but your accent sounds very familiar/similar so if you're ever interested in something like stepping into video production feel free to reach out.

Also thanks for the videos. I'm working on a 77 G25 that was an icecream truck with tons of aftermarket stuff where everything is modded up and switched around so it can be difficult to assess. Really appreciate it!
