What I always ask anyone bringing up the pay gap between the NBA and WNBA is how many games they watched, attended and how many jerseys they have.
Not once have a I received an actual answer to my questions and thats usually where the conversation ends
Once they realize the thing they're mad about isn't so easy to stay mad at, they usually just give up on the conversation because it's easier than challenging what they believe.

I mean I’m all for gender equality and all that, but what they’re asking for in terms of money is completely unreasonable. The WNBA literally operates on a loss, there’s no way teams and the league could afford to give these players more money. And for women’s soccer, people who care only care about international women’s soccer; women’s club soccer is still very small in comparison to the men.
Bring in the viewership and the money, then the league will listen. Until then, they’re just wasting their breath.
The fact is that women don't watch sports and they really, really don't watch women's sports. Men and women are interested in completely different things. For some reason though, all of this is men's fault. Patriarchy, right? LOL
Exactly! It’s like a little mom and pop book store shouldn’t be demanding to be paid the same as Barnes and Noble owner, or a bodega owner shouldn’t expect to make the same as Stop and Shop owner. The WNBA (and all women’s sports almost) don’t make at all near the money the NBA does

The few girls I know who genuinely love sports, only watch the male version of the sport. Males and females are different, but equal. But not in all aspects. It's why we work so well together. Making up for each other's weaknesses.

Never been a wnba game but I loved girls basketball in high school. My school was the top ranked school in Michigan in basketball back then. Two of the girls on that team went to D1 schools to play.

The issue with the WNBA isn't that they put out a bad product, its that the NBA just puts out a much better product. the girls are really talented, would (and have proven to) smoke the so called YMCA athletes that claim they'd crush them in pick up games. the issue is they're not all tall enough or as athletic as the male athletes. those guys are dunking and going nuts on their opponents. I think it was shaq or someone that said the solution that would increase enjoyment was to lower the net by a foot so more of them can dunk, because dunking is one of the more fun things in basketball to watch. the height disparity in the WNBA is just too big compared to the NBA. Centers in the NBA are pretty often 7 foot or taller. in the WNBA they're like 6'5" or 6'6" and then when you get Liz Cambage, Brittney Griner, Han Xu who are centers over 6'9" suddenly they're some of the best bigs in their league. its not a shock

People get upset by Bill Burr because of his stage personality and comedy style but at no point during this did he say that women were not as talented as the male side but he absolutely correct at laying the blame at the feet of the people complaining about it. If your an unsigned band playing a local bar your not going to be making the same money as Slipknot or Rammstein who sell out venues. Media coverage has a large part to play in this, I'm English so womens football has had a recent boom thanks to a spectacular win and the first major trophy won as a nation in decades but before that there was nothing.

Honestly many of the professional players on these women's sports teams are really talented. Fact of the matter is, women as a whole just aren't as interested in sports, so the viewership is always going to be smaller.
Someone mentioned going to a WNBA game… the crowd was mostly dads with their daughters.

And women's football is different to mens' football, same rules but the style is different, and the tactics. A different thing, and the stadiums are selling out. It took a few years, but it's here now. More sport for us proles to watch, more money for the investors. Win win. Now women's rugby is getting similar attention.

Mostly true but the exception for me is Woman's Soccer. Olympic US woman's team is better than the men's team, and it is the Woman who bring home the Gold in soccer. Better to watch too as you don't have someone flailing to try to sell a foul ever few minutes.

I’ve attended women’s college basketball and softball games, they were actually pretty good games. Definitely don’t care much for the WNBA mostly because there are no teams near us, but we have a ton of colleges close by.
But that is the most tragic part, isn't it? There is nothing wrong with the games, the women train just as much, and as hard as the guys do, they are peak athletes; but they don't get enough support from the women.
