Little thing to note Alex; Linkin Park were hated in 2017. When they transitioned to the softer music, the fanbase changed too and the butthurt metalheads started shit talking the way they do with every other band that goes soft. People always acknowledged that Chester was immensely talented, but they also hated on them and called them trash because they'd lost their edge. Linkin Park only became completely universally loved when Chester died..

The new stuff was certainly a shift, but still in a good way. I admire the art, passion, and the lyrics. Linkin Park's music has held a special place in my heart since the start. It was very relatable during my high school years, which is what made me a huge fan. "Numb" is my top favourite, followed by "Breaking the Habit." With their new Meteora 20th anniversary collection coming out, I'm definitely getting it. For me it's hard nostalgia and meaningful. I know the band's music has gotten many people through some hard times, myself included. Their music is definitely still relevant even today. I'm glad to see newer generations listening and appreciating Linkin Park.

Firstly, I would like to point out that I have been a Linkin Park fan since my bro down the street put their first album in my CD player while we rollerblading in front of my house. I went all in since that first song. It wasn't easy for me when they changed styles but I knew that they were figuring out where they were going as a band. Even so, I kept listening, whether the new albums were heavy or not. I do think that some people abandoned them in those years but they also gained fans who liked their newer music over the old style. When Chester passed, a lot of people put away the negativity and remembered the positive things about Linkin Park. All that I can truly say is that LP saved my life multiple times over some pretty dark moments for me, over the years. Every song, every beat and every album came with it's own distinct set of feelings and memories that changed me. For that I say thank you Linkin Park. Thank you, Alex for bringing this content, as usual. I appreciate what you do.

True linkin park fans just love the music. These youngsters opinions don't matter. If they can't feel the emotions poring out through the music, then they need to check what is important to them in life. Others and what they are going through matters. Tears me up listening to their music most of the time. I will always love them. Mike Shinoda is putting out some great music on his own to this day. Releasing songs that didn't quite make the albums has been cool too.

Mate what it comes down to is music taste. A music taste cant never be wrong. I think they can feel emotions through music, but may some of them just isnt to linkin park which is ok. I like some of linkin parks music, but not all of it. I am a metal head, and many of my friends say the dont like metal, which is ok. People should maybe start think, hey not all people shares my opinions or music taste or what it might be. Not all people will not like the music you like, therefore there is alot of different genre of music, so there is music for anyone.

Hey Alex. Great video. I have quite a connection to a few specific bands and Linkin Park is definitely one of them. You always know it’s Chester from the first two words out of his mouth. He had such a unique voice, with the talent for exceptionally sweet ballads as well as powerful control when he belted. The deep and utterly raw emotion you can feel through his voice is both chilling and mesmerizing. Through his music he was so helpful and supportive to so many people in pain. I just wish someone had been there for him so we wouldn’t have lost another amazing artist so young. 😢❤

Linkin Park is such an amazing band and loved Chester’s voice. I have a black and white picture signed by Rob Fenn who took the pic on my wall. The last album I really liked and I remember a lot of fans hating on it because they went pop. I liked it for the lyrics and all the songs were amazing. I remember when Mike said they wanted to change it up because they kept doing a song it would just be a repeat of their old music which would be boring.

Dude no joke you handled that better than most i know who'd saw this haha, I know people say that Linkin Park "fans" were not happy about the switch up in the music they did, But i've only ever met one in many years and even they admitted they only heard a song or two from the new songs that were put out at the time and disliked the whole album because of those two or three songs he'd heard. The point of music is to evolve and change, If you don't evolve and change your fans are going to grow out of the era of music, How we feel at 10 is different throughout our teen years to our 20's, Then we evolve and move past that because we're going through different things at different stages of life, Linkin Park is so good at what they did and do that they grew with people and were never afraid to change it up, People would even say In the End was poppy or more hip hop than metal or rock until the last what minute ? Fan's who complian that a group grew and evolved are honestly people stuck in the mud of there own lives and are bitter and angry that others moved on while they are stuck in place, Its all it is.. Miss Chester lots and without i doubt i know no other singter capable of singing as well and as good with the emotion he he had in his voice, Some come close, Damn close but none reach him and i'm sorry he's gone, We're all worse off without him. He's a Star, A legend and he'll always be missed by those who loved him.. Rest in peace Chester.

It's hard to believe how long I've been listening to Linkin Park. I've practically listened to them my whole life, and I'm 30.
If memory serve me well, and it doesn't (If someone wants to fact check me, I do not mind at all), when Minutes to Midnight dropped, the fanbase split. It was that album or A Thousand Suns. Linkin Park did get a lot of hate back in those days, but I respect them for sticking to how they did things. I've always appreciated their music, and they are one of the bands that I listened to when I was in a dark place. Because of them, I'm here today. When I heard the news about Chester, I was in tears. Looking back on almost every song they did, you could see signs of his struggles. And when Lost came out. Every time I hear that song, I'm in tears.
Rest in Peace, Chester. You were loved by many.
