For the past 15 years, I thought I was playing the drums. After watching this dude, I realize the drums were, in fact, playing me.

As a drummer I understand everything he does on a theoretical level, but the fact that he does these insane things so incredibly clean and tight is amazing. The way he switches between the gravityblast and triple roll on a single hand in the end there is mindnumbing.
I think it’s just because no one else practices this since it’s an inefficient circus act. You have a second arm for a reason
@@jd0879 A lot of drummers practice technique with one hand or foot at the time, just not to this extent.
Corcus act or not, technical prowess combined with musicality and creativity makes for brilliant art and entertainment. If you cannot see that, you can only blame yourself.
Also, I think it’s weird that people use the term «circus act» as a negative connotation, since lots of circus acts crave immense skill and creativity to master their arts. You might as well say «it’s just sports» or «it’s just art».
Or maybe you’re just one of those simples who only like 4/4 beats and 3-chord songs and anything more complicated is too much for the ol’ brain to handle? 😆

What I notice is the quick foot switch he does between the double bass and the hi-hat pedal, its seamless af. And then the hi-hat with 1 hand. This man has 5 brains, 1 for each limb and 1 main controlling them.

I feel the same way. No one on UA-cam reacts to videos like this guy. At least none that I have seen. He makes these drumming videos 100x better and they are already amazing

The double bass pedals are so clean and satisfying!
He's doing a lot of different things. But the gravity blast is what he is doing to get so many hits so quickly. Basically he's using the rim of his drum as a fulcrum and he's just using hand techniques to get it super fast.
Ya not many people can do it as well as he can though. That's for sure.

Some of their earlier work, the instrumental is amazing and Corey sounds really young which I rly like, not trying to comparing this "new" Slipknot from nowadays to the old Slipknot but like the old Slipknot just hits different, these 2 songs are SO headbanger! That snare pattern he plays at the beginning is called a Herta. It’s what Meshugga’s drummer plays in the first verse on the song bleed, with his feet…this dude is doing it with one hand 😂 ridiculous!
It’s called a gravity blast, it’s extremely difficult to do. Mr. Siberiano speaks about it in one of his videos if I’m not mistaken.
Drummers are very creative when dealing with handicaps. We had a late summer festival at my town and the drummer of the headlining band tore some tendons in his foot shortly before the gig. Instead of cancelling the cpncert, he hopped on stage in crutches, realigned the drumset and played the entire set with one leg in a cast.

Alex I highly recommend you check out Avery Molek playing bat country he was 8 when he recorded it, he's around 16 now but even as a young kid he got to play with Kiss, Brad Paisley etc.. One talented kid. There are quite a few on youtube, but I always feel like he was one of the whole "youtube virtuoso" thing pioneers

Back when I played in a country band I played Springsteen by Eric Church with one hand while pounding beer with the other. It was, to say the least, considerably easier than anything this guy does.
