I am a Palestinian. My family was displaced... in 1948... to Jordan. My grandmother walked from Palestine to Jordan on foot. Most of my family were killed, and those who survived left Palestine before being killed. I was born in Jordan, but I am Palestinian. They stole our homes and lands and killed our families.

@@MistaAlon Maybe you forgot to mention that before the war more than millions of Palestinians were first driven from their land after the British left. Which caused refugees and therefore war.
You really thought they fought for nothing. Farmers were going to lose their jobs and their land to Jews who are mainly Europeans.
And question, since the Zionist state was supposed to be a project to be forgiven for anti-Semitic massacres by Europeans, why not give them European lands?
Besides, I'm sorry, who in the world would be happy to see a state created on land that belongs to you? It's as if I were asking the USA to create a country in the middle of Brazil for the Iraqis because they went to war on the basis of a lie. Do you think the Brazilians will agree?

I deserve to feel safe in my own house and in my hometown streets. i deserve to travel using my country's airport! Why do we not have the right to move between cities like other countries?? I am a muslim, and saudi arabia, Quatar and other countries like that just make me wanna puke, i hate them. These are really shitholes. I life in germany and here if u say anything against israel u are anti-semitic. But what i am saying is Hamas is terrible, Israel is way worse, to be able to get peace (NOT SOLVING THE PROBLEM) just for peace, you have to take out the Israel millitary and politic firat, because they are the bigger terrorist organisation, after that, you take out Hamas, and split the country half half, and have rules to provide attacking each other.
Because if you take out hamas first, there is literally nothing which can fight against israel on a military lv, from the palestinian side, which would cause israel to massacre the leftover palestinians and just take over gaza.
The issue why west world isnt seeing it that way is, because Israel is imposing as a Country, but they do terrorist acts for decades, and the west dosent care. While also israel is the only non muslim place down there, the west dosent want to lose any teritorial aspects in there and surrender all to muslims. Its such a disgrace as a human being to call israels actions self-defense. Same with china and the uygurs, also my ancestors, getting slaughtered... no one cares, i feel deep upsetness in my heart, with all these happening. ty for everyone who is supporting, and sorry for the rant

I had really hoped most people had snapped out of the fever dream that was the Iraq/Afghanistan war and realized the anti-muslim rhetoric was dangerous propaganda but now here we are again and I'm getting flashbacks to 2001.

I'm an atheist and I was at the Palestinian Solidarity March a couple of weeks ago.
I wouldn't want to live under a Muslim, Christian or Jewish regime.
However, this is about ordinary citizens undergoing a horrific assault.
My great grandmother and grandfather survived the holocaust. My mother in 1967 was attacked by a group of French men and they carved a swastika into her back which covers her entire back, so I am fully aware of the assault on people for no good reason.
And I find the use of the holocaust by Israelis repugnant- they seem to think that because something bad happened years ago they can keep using it as a justification for the atrocities they are committing. I have second cousins in Israel and they have this far right zionist views - which is why I haven't spoken to them in years.

I would just like to say that Israel having a religious right to Gaza is objective. And NOWHERE else in the world should we hold religious right to land as credible. AND even if we were to go along with the claim that Jews have a religious right to the land, Jews were living in Palestine for thousands of years many converted to Christianity, many converted to Islam, and many obviously preserved their Jewish faith. And right up until 1948 with the Declaration of the "State of Israel" where 1 million Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their land, with reports of thousands of massacres all throughout Palestine, there were STILL many Arab Jews living there which are the Jews that had been historically there for thousands of years. As Bassem pointed out the Zionist movement and the immigration of Jews from Europe, was just that, A European problem. And to somehow suggest that European Jews have a claim to Palestinan land is ludocrus.

I think you meant the right is subjective (not objective)? I am baffled by the number of abjectly false "statements" he made as the 3 pros and cons on both sides. It's like he listened to CNN, read some WP articles, threw in some US propaganda and claimed them as facts. His claim of skimming the surface is translation for staggering ignorance and a racist take (Israel didn't let the Palestinians flourish and Palestinians built a terror state....dude your bias is showing)
So religion is a basis for a right to displace and kill a nation, but when an Arab mentions holy wars, it's all whooaa? Don't the Muslims and Christians then have the same right to the land since they all stem from the same Abrahamic faith?
To claim that a group has a right to a land based on their religion and because they were there thousands of years ago is the height of hypocrisy for a bunch of Americans sitting in on land that Native Americans inhabited before them and had religious connections to.
If he had actually done any research he would have learned that every effort at peace and two state solution has been sabotaged by Israel since the very beginning. There was never any good faith intention at peace or a two-state solution. Israeli far right assassinated their own PM when he tried the two state solution in the 90s. The mass exodus plans of the Palestinians that are now being leaked are apparently a copy paste of the same plans from the 1960s that they never gave up on. I feel like my brain will break in two when trying to take in the number of lies Israel has made since 1967. They have denied every attack they started, constructed elaborate lied and only admitted to them when evidence from investigations gave them no other options. Up until last year they killed a journalist and lied about it.

Also, you said this wasn't an issue about colonialism. I just want to point out that even Theodor Herzl, the father of modern zionism, himself described the idea of Israel as a colony. This was at the time when most people didn't really consider colonialism as something bad, though.
I'd also recommend you to read more about the nakba.

I'd also like to thank you for being so open minded!
And another thing. I would recommend you to google the Balfour Declaration (1917) to see how Britain gave away land that wasn't theirs to give to begin with. Also, the only Jewish member of the cabinet at the time (Edwin Samuel Montagu) opposed the declaration. The idea of the Balfour declaration was antisemitic. Arthur Balfour (who was the one pushing for the creation of a Jewish state) had described Jews as "an alien and hostile people" and he also sponsored legislation to keep Jewish refugees out of the UK.

Reading history books, articles, talking to Palestinians both here and in Gaza.
So when you said “It’s not about colonialism” my head almost exploded.
    It ABSOLUTELY IS.
It’s basically the same damn thing we did from the 15th century on when America was “discovered”. There were already millions of indigenous people here but because Europeans saw themselves as superior to the “savages” we just took what we felt we deserved.
That was ethnic cleansing. That was genocide. And the very definition of colonialism.

@@GilTheCohen Dude…after WW2 Europe tried to figure out what to do with the surviving jews and picked Palestine to split up and give to them. It wasn’t necessary at all. Again, jews, christians and muslims had already been living there TOGETHER for thousands of years. There was no need for 750k Palestinians to be violently uprooted and forced into these ever shrinking bits of land. And there sure as hell wasn’t a need to massacre whole villages in the process.
One group’s trauma does not give them the green light to do a similar thing to others.
The Israeli government has been crystal fucking clear about their intentions. Especially Bibi. They don’t see the Palestinians as equal humans and they want them gone. They’ve been playing the long game and Oct. 7th was the excuse they were looking for to finish the job. Whether they flee to Sinai or die…they don’t care.
And this entire thing has fostered this gross sense of superiority in part of the Israeli population too. For literal decades zionist extremists have been having watch parties to celebrate the bombs going off in Gaza. Calling them animals that need to be exterminated.
This whole thing has never been about jews being persecuted. It’s just groups of men making power moves to assert dominance and comparing dick sizes…and opportunistic settlers taking advantage of the situation to go on their own little power trips.

If so, the Jews don’t know how to do it so well…. You see, when an actual genocide against the Jews happened in 1939-1945, the population went down from nearly 16.75 million people worldwide. You know how many Jews live goats, more than 80 years after? 16.1 million. That’s a genocide.

It also plays into the desperate need of every one of these despicable media personalities to want to appear as if they're on the "right side" of every controversial issue in history because they know they've always lacked basic morality when spewing "facts" on air. They know deep down the bs atrocities enabling "facts" they're broadcasting to millions of viewers in their massively influential positions are actually just biased opinions/interpretations of the wealthy people behind the camera signing these media personalities' paychecks, thus lining their pockets with millions of dollars in blood money.
The networks/hosts so desperately wants to portray an image that makes the audience they're subliminaly trying to influence feel as if they've always been on the right side of every topic so even if they've said some terribly consequential things in the past, calling them out on it in front of their audiences will automatically trigger a defensive reaction from the interviewer along with the executives behind-the-scenes (who are sometimes yelling directly into their earpieces to rebuke the interviewee's comments) then spin their words into a narrative that make the network/channel look "morally good". Then they quickly pivot to another topic before the audience can realize they just glossed over a ton of the negative, but factual and correct, things the interviewee just said about them.
In my opinion, the best way to breakthrough this is to do it exactly how Bassem did. Just agree with them and say "no, you're one of the good guys," to publicly ease their consciences in front of their audiences/viewers then let the audience stop and think for themselves whether or not the interviewer has been one of the "morally good" sources of information in the past before allowing them to half-heartedly counter your facts then pivot to a different topic, which seems to have become second-nature to some of the personalities including Piers.
The look on their faces after you agree with them instead of trying to argue is my favorite cause you can visibly see they aren't prepared for this and now need to let the speaker continue the dialogue they just unsuccessfully tried to interrupt. They always look like they need a moment to process what just happened and regain their thoughts 😂

Those in power lack natural intelligence, true education, political and historical knowledge, rhetorical skills, negotiating skills, respect and empathy for others, humility, and wisdom.
They brought us to the edge of WWIII. And here we are, looking into the darkest pit of our lifetime.
They are killing innocent unarmed people, babies, and little children without any regrets or sorrow.
Right in the open, in front of our very eyes, Mass Murder is being committed and the US is financing it and the rest of the Collective West is watching and supporting it.
    NOBODY IS STOPPING IT!
That`s how Nazi Germany looked in the 1930s, and nobody said anything, did anything.
In the middle of the streets, innocent Jews, Jippsies, and invalids had been ridiculed, belittled, tortured, and beaten. All that under the laughing faces of many (not all) Germans.
When WWII finally ended, the whole world was asking how it could come to that.
Sons, daughters, and grandchildren have been asking for decades, "What did you do to help those poor people?"
Now it`s our turn to SAY SOMETHING, to DO SOMETHING!
Now is not the time TO BE QUIET!
At the very least, we should INFORM OURSELVES & LEARN MORE, just like you said!
And then, we should start ASKING (THE RIGHT) QUESTIONS and ACT ACCORDINGLY!

If you meant good PEOPLE on both sides, I’m with you. However, the question is who has the power in the country? Israel. I don’t think anyone will dispute that. As far as accountability, when you are in a position of power, you’re responsible for your citizens and constituents. With that being said, in the beginning you said Israel has done good things: 1. Israel has a claim to the land. That is not considered a “good” thing. If that is your believe then that is simply historical fact. 2. The land which is held by the Palestinians is “the center of the Israeli religion”. When did this become about religion? The only time religion is mentioned is Orthodox Jews and you can see for yourself how they view the conflict. 3. They have a right to peace. I totally agree with you that all humans should have that right. Again, I don’t see any of these points as a “good” thing. My question is what “good” things has Israel done to/for the Palestinians to promote and maintain peace since 1948? I’m not asking as a “gotcha” question. I genuinely want to know what your findings are.

@@sagipisti123 From this perspective, you are still too zoomed in to see the problem. Israel is still in control of the region. Hamas was elected to be a representative for the people, not rule the land. If they were in control like you claim, they would be able to build ports, freely travel to establish relationships with other nations, have an embassy, etc. I think we can all agree that if you are an elected official without the basic governing principles such as attending summits with other countries, you are not in charge. Side note, in order to even be alive when the election was held you would have to be 17 years old. Not to mention an additional conservative 15 years to actually be old enough to vote. So we are looking at roughly anyone aged 32 or older potentially voted during the 2006 election. If 50% of the population is under 17, and let’s assume another 25% from 17-32 years old, we’re left with 25% of the people currently there voting in the election. That does not include anyone who has been killed in the 17 years since the election. To say they were elected would be the same as telling American teenagers “well you guys voted for George W Bush”.

Why are Hamas leaders not in Gaza? and are hiding in Qatar, Turkey and other muslim countries? @@m.m.2310I would recommend you to google the Balfour Declaration (1917) to see how Britain gave away land that wasn't theirs to give to begin with.
I would also recommend you to read about the nakba (very important) to get an actual understanding of how long Palestinians have suffered. I think it's absolutely necessary to understand what people mean when they call this an ethnic cleansing.

@@m.m.2310 Well, Jews didnt have any claim to Palestine for a long time up until relatively recently when the zionist movement started. even then, most religious jews opposed the idea because according to the Jewish faith they are not allowed to create a nation of their own. Ofc there were many different Empires and states claiming and conquering the area just like pretty much everywhere in th world. But the conflict between Arabs and Jews is a modern anomaly in the grand scheme of things.
If one side is actively genociding the other while keeping it besieged in an open air concentration camp for decades, it is clear that this is not self defense.

Simply put the "entire history" doesn't matter. What matters currently is the conflict since the formation of the state of Israel. Israel has no claim to this land because it never previously existed as a state. Jewish people shouldn't need a state for themselves, they should be able to live among other religions just like other religions. They are capable of this as seen in so many countries around the world. The problem is the state of Israel and the fact it wants an ethnostate with nothing but Jewish people in it. It is not a muslims vs jews issue, it's the evil state of Israel vs people.@@m.m.2310

Is settlement expansion within occupied Palestinian territory [in violation of international law] not colonial in nature? 😅 Let’s use our brains 🧠 The Israeli government has been a loose cannon flagrantly engaging in unlawful settlement expansion in the West Bank, in plain sight, for years . And the international community have been calling it out for years. This isn’t an opinion. These are facts. It’s been condemned by Amnesty International, the United Nations, and *Israel’s own Supreme Court* … and yet…the settlements continue. Thank you for this. Good job being objective about both sides as well. Here are my thoughts.
-Jeremy Boreing says there's no moral equivalency. Well, he'd be right, but not for the reason he thinks. The reason there's no moral equivalency is because Israel are the ones who created the conditions for this current phase of the conflict to blow up. This is not a defense of terror. Only people who don't bother thinking it through would describe it that way. The attacks on Israeli civilians is admittedly horrible, there's no reservation about that. But to say that that's where this conflict began is ludicrously false and shamefully dishonest. I mean really the bias there is just blatant. It's also easy to shred apart, which more people should start doing. Given that the issue began with the occupation of Palestinians by Israel, and that the Palestinians have been living in subhuman conditions and have been being bombed, kidnapped, killed or kicked out of their homes for the past 70 years, yeah, there's no moral equivalency. Israel has done more wrong. This fact must be admitted before anybody can take people like Jeremy Boreing, Ben Shapiro, or their likes seriously. Their stance is a dishonest one. Supporting Israel does not have to mean misframing the conflict and lying through one's teeth.
-Israel isn't interested in wiping out Hamas. Not as its primary goal. Its primary goal is obviously to rid Gaza of its Palestinian population and annex it. How do we know this? Because first of all, Hamas is more than a group of people. It's an ideology. And the Israeli govt knows full well that the more innocent civilians it kills the more oxygen it'll give for the fire of that ideology to burn and expand. Secondly, the Israeli govt *itself created Hamas*. It made sure to fund it so that it would become powerful enough to win out against the PLO and take over. This way the Palestinians would be prevented from ever obtaining statehood. That part has worked in their favor so far; the Israeli regime under Netanyahu didn't want the Palestinians to have their own state, and they haven't been able to do so. What they did want was for the Palestinians to be subjugated so that Israeli govt could control the entirety of Israel and Palestine. We can see this happening before our eyes right now. Just look at the Ceaseless bombing and incessant killing of civilian life, almost half of whom are children. Look at how Israel told the Palestinians to move south only to bomb them from the sky when they listened. The church bombing, the refugee obliteration. And that's just the beginning. It is obvious what their end goal really is. Hamas is just a pretense for that aim.
-This could turn into a regional or broader war. I don't want to speculate too much on this, but it seems like that's where it's headed. And there again, Israel will pretend to be the victim. But it's losing the public sympathy war. Palestine is winning that one by a long shot, and the more Israel murders babies, children, and innocent civilians in the thousands, maybe tens or hundreds of thousands, the more it'll continue to lose.
-One last thing I'd like to add is that there are people on the ground on both sides who are much more human than their govt. In other words these are human beings with a good heart who just want to live in peace. And who each don't want to annihilate the other side. We mustn't forget these people. There are Israelis saying they stand against what Israel is doing in Gaza right now. There are Palestinians that have expressed their sympathy with Israelis who are suffering from the horrific Oct 7th attack, and are even condemning Hamas. And people from both sides are showing solidarity with each other, looking at the bigger picture. Hopefully the worst won't come out of this already abysmal situation. Let's see what happens. Keep making great videos like this, I've subscribed to your channel. Much appreciated.

That was quite the interview on the situation. two nations who can't find peace with one another is hard to solve. if you get rid of one side, then the other side is villified. But sometimes if you can't get both to stop, you gotta get rid of both sides all together; but this also has a domino effect around the world and more war will start. We're all at a loss.

Few things to clear out. Prime minister of israel actually funded Hamas organization in Israel and it was a regime to rise them into power so they cause the terror by being provoked intentionally by israeli army in order to have an excuse to attack them. They control their electricity, water, fuel, even food intake. I believe they are the Israeli problem the same as Hamas is the Palestine problem, between me and you you know there are problems on both sides.
The Israeli government is very aggressive towards minorities such as Arabs Hasidic Jews Ethiopians and so on
Apartheid state is not the state of Israel I lived there for a year, I saw many things against minorities I was once in the police station in Jerusalem, if you know the area, the Russian compound, the police officer that was at reception was Arab Muslim, I asked him, the one upstairs was Christen, the one that helped me that was the most fluent in English was Jewish, I had to come back to her because she wasn't there a day later I was 3 Arabs and 1 Jew, and a argument between a husband and wife was settled by the Jew that didn't even speak Arabic, so it is not an apartheid state

Hey Alex, I just found your channel this video just popped up in my suggestions, I am a muslim who lives in Egypt, and i watch videos like these because i am interested in westerns POVs in this matter.. I know that you don’t know much about this conflict, i appreciate that you have done your researches but I am pretty sure you still have so much to learn to be able to establish a proper opinion about the matter.. Cuz this didn’t just start in October the 7th, this has been going on for 75 years since the absolute non sense Balfour declaration, which is basically UK giving a piece of land that doesn’t belong to them to the Zionists Jews.. and keep that in mind there is a massive difference between Zionists and Jews, here in Egypt we have Muslims, Christians and Jews all living in peace and harmony, i personally have a lot of friends that are Jews and my best friend is a Christian and i am saying this cuz some Pro Israelis keep saying that Arab countries like Egypt are kicking the Jews out which is utter bullshit.. there is a very important point that Bassem said and you didn’t think deeply about it.. there is no Hamas in the west bank, and there are Palestinians that are still getting killed over there, and if that tells us anything it tells us that Hamas isn’t really the problem there, the problem is that Israel wants to take over the entire land and either eradicate all Palestinians or drive them away to Sinai and Lebanon, so the problem was never Hamas, and btw Israeli Minister said multiple times that Israel funds Hamas continuously and they have bragging about it as well saying that as long as there is Hamas in Palestine there will be chaos and a justification for Israel to carpet bomb Gaza 24/7 and one more thing, religion wise, I am a Muslim as i said and i believe in Christianity and Judaism, I believe in Jesus and Moses, and even though in our modern days our world doesn’t use Religions as a source of claims for example, i can’t say that X land belongs to me because my religion said so.. but let me tell you religion wise the history behind the land of Palestine. It is said Moses has guided the JEWS not the ZIONISTS (keep that in mind) from Egypt cuz they were being slaughtered and oppressed by an Egyptian Pharaoh and when they cornered next to the sea, Moses has split the sea giving his and the Jews a passage to Palestine cuz there is literally no other way from Egypt to Palestine except through the sea, he guided them to the land of Palestine to live in peace and harmony with the other religions that are yet to come plus, the main habitants of Palestine cuz obviously it wasn’t an empty land when he guided them there, so even religion wise, that land doesn’t belong to the Jews specifically let alone Zionists.. I recommend that you watch the second interview with Bassem he explained the history of the whole conflict and what even has led to this conflict in the first place, and please try to find the first video of the second interview, cuz they later on released another video of the second interview with cropped parts of the conversation and of things that Bassem said. And btw i know that this is your only source information but please don’t trust everything you read on the internet cuz it is full of bullshit and a lot of twisted history, cuz Zionists are twisting so much history. For example they said that they won the war between Egypt and Israel in 1973 and they left Sinai in peace which is again utter bullshit, cuz they didn’t just get destroyed, Egypt had the chance to eradicate Israel from the map but Anwar el Sadat the former president of Egypt decided not to cuz the Israelis had Egyptian soldiers, so he approached Israel for peace instead of destroying them and he even has been given noble for War and Peace, but yea a lot of history twisting on the internet. And one more thing by the way Bassem Youssef is Christian

But to put all of this on them, is silly.
Not to mention that the Arabs (other than the Emirates) have shown no reason to BE reasonable with Israel.
Any and every reach for peace has been turned down.
But as i've pointed out here in the comments.
Arabs cannot do anything wrong, they've NEVER done anything wrong.
      Israel however, IS TRUE EVIL.
      Allahu akbar, Allah al salam.
      Israel = Shar.

I applaud Alex' efforts to learn and try to be as objective as possible. It's funny that his haters on his movie channel keep questioning why he's a lawyer lol
