This is why Microsoft is infinitely better than nintendo, they support modding, they support custom graphics or upgraded gameplay or custom games. Whereas nintendo will cease and desist you faster than you can say "no profit"
Eh. Sure Microsoft is better at community management than Nintendo, but honestly Microsoft's track record is pretty bad as well, and they only ever work with their audience when it suits their business. People seem to forget that mod support and all of these additional features of MCC is a major exception for Microsoft. Normally, they are nowhere near this lenient or understanding, and I imagine the only reason they are even allowing 343 to make these ports as good as they are, is because only a tiny team at 343 are actually in charge of making them. Anything more is a waste of resources in MS's eyes. MS as a publisher doesn't care about quality of life if it means there's no additional profit motive. I will give you that MS has its exceptions though. Nintendo is far worse and far less understanding toward it's community, but they still beat Microsoft at quality control. Microsoft, even after Halo 5, still frequently rushes deadlines on its studios, and knowingly sabotages its games for the sake of additional profit. The only reason Infinite is an exception, is because of how disastrous the last one was and because Halo is their one exclusive flagship title. Nintendo, on the other hand, has a history of delaying and even rebooting projects, simply because they didn't meet their own standard of quality, the exceptions to this rule being mainly remasters and ports. The lesson here, is that both companies excel at certain things and fail hard at others, and they both either don't care about or fail to understand their audience very frequently, just in different ways. But the one thing we can all agree on... old school Bethesda before the acquisition was worse than both of them.
Yup. They did it for every campaign. I played through the reach campaign when that first came out on PC just to see the wholesome end credits scene, but instead, there was nothing... I was very disappointed.
@@HiddenXperia Hiddenxperia make a series playing spv3 please. It’s silly that all these halo content creators are complaining about “content drought” but none of them actually play halo.
The only thing bothering me is how well you recieve sprint and the melee buff from it ... It’s 80% spartan charge ... But i guess it’s not something to complain about when its a singleplayer experience
we also have ours a bit more skillfully intergrated. The window to do it requires exact timing, and there is more consequence if you miss. It's also not a near instant kill on almost everything.
I see the appeal, but jeez. I guess, it’s too “do it because it’s cool” and the art direction is just SO not... great? I might try it some day, but it’s still not right, somehow.
I like the rule of cool with all the new stuff, but I agree that the art style isn’t the best. A bit too muted and detailed compared to the more colorful palette of the base game.
I personally love the art compared to the remastered version in the remastered ot was too bright and kinda defeated the all hope is lost mood, in spv3 the art takes are darker tone and because of this it make the energy weapon and covenant shields and vehicles really pop in color and contrast.
@@MasonOfLife The art style complaints are understandable, but people also need to understand this is a 20 year old game and we have limits to what we can do technologically (like we can't edit level geometry, and we can't alter the bones of characters for faces) and also just what we can accomplish with manpower. This game has more content in it than any halo title, period. To redo all the art with one creative vision, would cost tons and tons of money and even if so, theres no guarantee it will all go ingame fine. Some of the art assets here you see are 13 years old, some date even back to 2006. It be nice to have one cohesive vision, but when you realize the sheer amount of content here and that its all touched up halo 1 assets or original, you can understand why it looks as it does. The best we can do is make sure each thing looks interesting and is functional, which we do.

I would assume that flood firefight was never implemented because reach and odst didn't have the flood in them, but I'm hoping that Infinite will have something like it for sure.
This comment aged well
Halo 2 launched with more content and still has more than infinite
I've been meaning to play this MOD for sometime but now I am more than excited to do so, thanks for the recommendation
This mod was fun, though the flood levels were a bit more overwhelming than I would have liked, but still great nonetheless. The short mini campaign was also fun, though my computer couldn't handle zooming in with the alternate BR, kept getting massive frame drops when ever I zoomed in.
I just finished playing the mod and i didnt use br at all what alternate br are u talking about and what happen when u zoom
Mr Hidden you forgot to mention that they have a new voice for firefight! I am very happy to have worked with Masters1337 (aka Neil) as the voice. Very fun and I hope to help again!
10/10 would work with again
Fire fight voice was you?? Dude I'm glad you did work for this but that new announcer voice was kinda bad. It sounds like all of my friends deepening their voice to mimic the original
@@syndromeofadowns that's his natural voice lol
@@halo_legacies it's not a good voice for the role. Lol
@@syndromeofadowns Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But Masterz is right it is my natural voice. What would you rather have there?
Made me happy to see the CE credits again
Another thing Experia forgot to mention is that This mod for all the OG levels have text logs sprinkled across. For example on Guilty Spark the Covenant logs explain that the Brutes. Tried to destroy the infection rather than tell the Elites it broke lose, because it would bring even further shame to their race.
Ngl, despite all I didn’t like about them, I’ve always been fond of the “inside chief’s helmet” overlay from H4/H5. I’d absolutely love at least the option to have something like that for campaign/multiplayer/custom games in Infinite along with effects like rain on the visor.
That looked honestly phenomenal. Best part of this video lmaoooo.
we have an option to turn the helmet off too, for people that don't want it or really need to squeeze every bit of horsepower to get stable FPS, but I always liked in helmet views since metroid prime.
@@halo_legacies the metroid prime hud is amazing, the amount of detail they put into that game is crazy, especially for it being the first 3D game in the series
The 3.2 made me cry 3 times while finishing it in one sitting. The menu music, the addition of new levels, the feels, it's like going back to my childhood. I don't get the feeling from CEA, really. It's really a work of art, whatever bad stuff happened within the development.
Nothing really at all, in any project there is drama and ours isn't that exceptional. We the biggest problem we had was with a contributor (not a team member) that not a single person wanted to work with due to racist and homophobic tweets.
@@halo_legacies racist and homophobic like what
@@eyeballpapercut4400 calling people fags and dropping nbombs.
@@halo_legacies idk but from what I've read, the drama was even worse compared to Dawn of War Ultimate Apocalypse mod drama. Meanwhile S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods, Red Alert mods, and C&C Renegade mods/remakes never had that kind of big bad
@@eyeballpapercut4400 well he ended up asking people to find us and was linked to a popular neo nazi website. Then someone threatened to shoot us at a community event so police and department of homeland security ended up busting down his door and doing an investigation. But that’s all on him, not us.
I really hope we see this level of mod(s) with all the Halo games that are now also on PC
This is just beautiful. Only sad thing is I don’t have MCC on steam. I’ve only played halo one on PC when it first came out a long time ago. The rest of the time was on xbox through each generation
your old PC copy will work fine still for this!
*Craig customization is the best thing about it.*
Now I feel like making halo 2 version of this
How amazing would that be if he was able to transfer this over to MCC
Unfortunately that won't happen as spv3 isn't compatible with mcc pc in gameplay reference masterzz himself stated this
Maybe when mod tools came to mcc that might’ve possible
The only thing that’s not my cuppa is the textures. They just feel like the sharpness has been buffed all the way up
I would not be opposed to Halo Firefight being revamped to have more elements such as adding buyable turrets and traps to hold out a specific area kinda like Gears of War Horde mode
I've always wanted halo to just have huge tone shift to horror when it came to the flood every time they showed up
I want to play this so freaking bad 😭😭😭 it looks beyond incredible. And I completely agree with the flood in firefight. The flood is what halo is about really, there is a lot more they should be doing with them
it will run on almost any PC hardware, won't look as good as it does here though of course on lower end systems
“Keyes, who comes armed with a golden magnum” While holding a golden magnum.
Looks like we need security on the bridge cause the master chief went rampant.
Imagine a world where 343 wholly embraced mods and this gets an official release on MCC
You'd think at the very least this one would be embraced!
Essentially it'll just replace h1 being halo ce ++
@Sez B wait what? Lol it would be awesome for this to be an easily accessible option for folks that want it
They already said they intend to support custom edition mods inside MCC
@@TheGrunt248 It takes too many liberties for that though. It's not exactly a "faithful" expansion.
seein' them raindrops on the hud gives me Metroid prime flashbacks and that makes me a happy, eager boy.
My Processor stopped working today and this was the last game I played. My computer died peacefully
F 07
i love SPV3 but my one big problem with it shows up in the name. SP. i wanna experience this with friends.
Unfortunately it isn't possible as the spv3 team stripped all the multiplayer/coop code to add room for all what's been added.
@@mhmtakeyatime9000 yeah I know. It's still a fantastic experience though. Oh well. Might just wait for the halo 3 combat evolved mod
@@fairplayer916 I hope eventually we can spv3s weapon sandbox, models or textures ported to halo 2 as I'd love to use the incineration cannon (and the firefight exclusive sentinel weapons) in levels like Sacred Icon or Quarantine Zone.
2:32 So basically Spartan Charge from Halo 5
Thats what I was thinking
Not exactly more like from ce. Yes its present in ce but not many people know this
I kinda felt like the whole Halo SPV project really inspired a lot of Halo Infinite gameplay. Like taking over FOBs
The best intro award goes toooooo, HiddenXperia! Congrats.
"You can sprint and when you melee it does double damage"
Me: I'll allow it
Me who plays on xbox and can't afford a PC: Interesting. 😔
I don't even know how to make a PC or download mods so it doesn't matter lol
I feel yo pain!
Same...
My cheap laptop has the power equivalent of 3 potatoes mashed together and I can play SPV3 on it.
And there is great tutorials on how to install this particular mod.
Maybe it's time to learn then. Just avoiding trying to get onto pc seems kind of silly.
Always love hearing these podcasts. You keep such a detailed and meticulously way of presenting information, HXP. Especially stuff I'd have never heard of without being scribed here. So to that, I tip my hat. Keep up the good work.
Now, onto the content of the vid itself. FINALLY! They updated to use MCC instead of CE-PC edition. So happy for that, I can finally actually play this mod.
Ok so no one is allowed to get salty over sprint except in h4 where it’s over kill and doesn’t make sense without the enhanced mobility
People need to keep in mind bungie tried to do sprint for halo 2
I’ve seen plenty of questions and thoughts on it, but where 343 released mod tools and such for Halo 2 recently…is it possible to see an SPV3-like mod for Halo 2? I don’t know if the tools change anything at all, but I still would love to see it happen. Maybe play the Forerunner Tank level, and maybe a warthog run at the end…👀
This is why Microsoft is infinitely better than nintendo, they support modding, they support custom graphics or upgraded gameplay or custom games. Whereas nintendo will cease and desist you faster than you can say "no profit"
Then they cancel online for older games
That is the most Arcady looking mod I’ve ever seen
Just got audible and I'm listening to Shadows Of Reach. Thank you Hidden, stay iconic.
This all looks so awesome, I just wish it didn't look unbelievably ugly.
I just got started on Prometheus for Reach, but now I've got even more to look forward to once I've had my fill of custom Reach.
Can’t spartans see in the dark though?
Not in gameplay they can't
Crash Titan - with the flashlight or night vision they can
@@RatsFunHouse101 well that's more of aiding their vision rather than letting them see in the dark completely
Being an ODST & fighting next to the Chief would be something else.
That intro still gives me dopamine hits and I love it!
Imagine Halo 2 + SPV3
The craziest part of this whole video, was that you never knew about the secret scene with Guilty Spark.
16:04 MCC has a flood firefight now for ODST at least
12:23 IT'S ME!!!!! THEY ADDED ME TO THE GAME!!!!!
A long HX video with a big sponsor = me with a happy soul
I had no idea 343 had removed the original bungie credits from MCC. Sacrilege. It's like they're actively trying to kill the old ways
Yup. They did it for every campaign. I played through the reach campaign when that first came out on PC just to see the wholesome end credits scene, but instead, there was nothing... I was very disappointed.
The Anniversaries team are forbidden to talk to Marty O'Donnell. Go figure.
I love that you can play as Chief wearing ODST armor.
Incredibly good stuff, again. Wish it was on mcc would love to see console players get to play.
I would love to get to play
@@alexanderthegreat6682 it's pretty easy to run. My not great laptop chugs along fine for example. I'm by no means a pc gamer not since xbl launched.
Dude this is so crazy I was looking at your old Spv.2 video's yesterday.
Huh, this does look pretty cool. I wonder what else this has to offer
1:50 IM SORRY YOU WANNA SAY THAT THE FUCK AGAIN?????
Yeah, it's pretty dope
@@HiddenXperia Hiddenxperia make a series playing spv3 please. It’s silly that all these halo content creators are complaining about “content drought” but none of them actually play halo.
@@devhampton5683 make him create a *sprint yeet kill montage*
Any changes to art style aren’t going to gel with everyone, it’s understandable
I for one think it looks great but that’s just me
@@MasonOfLife The art style complaints are understandable, but people also need to understand this is a 20 year old game and we have limits to what we can do technologically (like we can't edit level geometry, and we can't alter the bones of characters for faces) and also just what we can accomplish with manpower.
Masterz1337 yeah for sure, I think it’s looks great and must applaud all the efforts in the creation of this mod, quite the achievement (and I actually prefer the look of the mod over og CE, I really appreciate the look)
