@@HiddenXperia dual wielding was completely viable contrary to what a lot of people at the time believed. the smg spiker combo is the quickest ttk in the game. loads of weapons were really effective situationally. the ar was literally a 1.5 second kill plus a melee. the magnum wasn't even that bad either, the problem was the hit registration eating shots. then you look at Halo 1, the pistol can literally kill you in just over one full second. in Halo 1, double shots were so easy to do consistently if you knew how that the br totally dominated everything. as for the equipment of Halo 3, it was an innovative edition that could benefit the whole team (man cannon, health station, bubble shield). the focus on projectiles rather than hitscan weapons made balancing weapon ranges much more fair, not to mention the lack of double shot glitches making the balance better. on the other hand for Halo 3 maps, there were loads of trick jumps that made map traversal faster if you put in the effort.

I remember going to the midnight release and staying home from school the next day for Halo 3, beat the campaign in a day it’s still one of the best days of gaming of my life
I’m so glad my parents let me do it too. The release day of Halo 3 is still one of the best days of my life. I was chilling at home with a 24 pack of Mtn Dew and a shit ton of pizza rolls playing split screen co op with my best friend.
My mom couldnt afford the game, nor an xbox. So when i saw the halo 3 release and see all those kids with joy in their eyes, i was sad. :( It wasnt until halo mcc when i finally played halo 3 all those years later.

Modern Assault rifles are rated for combat up to 300-500Ms and snipers are up to 1000-1500Ms. The last part of the warthog run in CE was 1000 meters, that's how far a modern sniper is expected to hit and kill targets. The longest recorded sniper kill was 3.5km. Only pistols and smgs are designed to be used under in closer quarter situations often depicted in games.

@@combativeThinker Military shot guns don't use chokes so the shot pattern would be pretty big. That being said you still have a point. You could hunt without a choke but it would be a lot harder than needed.

A note about the magnum having extreme recoil: As a shooting enthusiast who can one-hand a .44 Mag, this adds a nice little touch of realism to a gun called a "magnum." Rapid firing a .44 mag with one hand and keeping rounds on target is a challenge.

@@tonythegreat4275 You may not like the library, as per the standard of the level, but to me, the mod's addition of flood shields and tendency to pop carriers much, much quicker gave every flood level this.... frenetic and primal energy that can only be appreciated once you come to learn and abuse the new flow combat has been granted. They're in many ways more rapid and formidable, but also fairly squishy, which is why I say approach the Library with only the unheralded fact that combat with these devilish, ravenous monsters will probably soil your pants if you can't strafe or manage situations proficiently. Of course, this shouldn't hold you off from the rest of the mod, its a blast, but just a forewarning, if you'd need to bump your difficulty down a little, don't quiver at that thought, please, the mod is top-notch quality.

100%! it is a TRAVESTY that you didn’t get to fight with Zealots and Ultras!! I genuinely think it was just laziness from bungie!! it wouldn’t of been difficult to even just have the Zealots and Ultras have the standard Combat harnesses/helmets etc. All they would’ve had to do was colour their armour to their respective colours and increase their shield strength greatly & give/spawn them with a sword mostly. (or have them pull out their sword and roar if a brute gets too close, like halo 2 [since assets were reused from 2 anyway])

If you can learn how to build a rig, it's like 500$ for a good rig - 680$ for a very good rig. Best decision I ever made. The mods and right to repair has just reinforced that. EVGA can help you get good prices on parts and you can find different sites that tell you if all the parts you want will work together. Finally, try to get around 120-144 for Monitor refresh rate. Anything higher is unecessary. Good luck boyo.

I remember when the game was fairly new I spent so long in high school beating halo 3 solo on legendary over and over, each time with more skulls. I recall several times getting to a checkpoint near the end of a level and not being able to beat that area even after hours of throwing myself at it. So eventually I would conclude that the only way forward was to redo the whole level in order to start that area with power weapons or a detached turret going into that checkpoint. I was committed, and loved it the whole time
Finally. A campaign mod that stays within the lore and just improves on what is there instead of something that looks like it was made by a 9yo hopped up on Monster.
brute plasma rifles having burst fire makes a lot of sense to me, kinda like how in W40K, the weapons used by Ogryns (big, hulking, brutes, basically), have burst limiters to prevent them from expending their entire magazine too quickly. i imagine Brutes, caught in the heat of the moment, might accidentally fire their entire plasma rifle's charge knowing how they are.
This mod will get a proper rework once Ruby is done with Halo 2 Rebalanced, which will include cut content if Ruby goes the same route that he did with Halo CE Rebalanced and Halo 2 Rebalanced. Halo 3 Mythic Overhaul is available if you can't wait.
Halo 3's campaign is...so good. Like, i dont understand why honestly...its pretty simple...but i think its the game play, the gameplay is so crispy, like,, ugh, i can replay that rats nest level for ever, especially when all the grunts and drones are running away and you can get an instane stick to destroy everything. Halo 3 is a masterpiece. Bungie used to be so insanely good. Their team was consistent of multiple leaders that held their ground and didnt let bad influence push them in a direction that would of caused them to fall. Eventually that happened but omg halo 3
An easy solution to the idea of not being able to tell enemy elites from friendly would be to put like a little hud icon above them. If it clutters to much make them really small, or make it so the reticle always highlights green no matter the distance as long as you can see them.
A couple of cool things that you missed is that AA Wraiths no longer blow up when no ones in them meaning you can freely drive them once the driver has been killed. And Coop Arbiter and Elites now have purple hud unlike master chief which gives me Halo 2 vibes.
I hope 343 takes note of this campaign mod, especially what the mod author did with the Shade Turret. Seriously, we NEVER get to use the Shade in Halo despite it being in every game. _Halo: Infinite_ is the exception, where it was actually beefed up enough to be useable. The changes to the vehicles seem a bit over-the-top, especially the Prowler. I would take a more minimalist approach by making the turret the same type of gun as the Chopper.
Make halo open world like reach where you can only be covenant and you fight Spartans like they are tough bosses and bring in brutes too we can fight em join em and then fight them back again
I love this mod so much. Ruby's rebalance is what i play when i just wanna play halo with a fresher feel to it. one of my favorite change was to the plasma pistols. Bringing them back to their CE power levels. but the elites being more present is definitely jussssssssssst a bit more favorite
I think adding the halo 2 shot gun speaks volumes to our love of the other games weapon variants. This is a good idea that can be used well in halo games for example, a military installation is bound to have different models or types of weapons from varying times.
before this mod I never realized that there was a dozen brute ranks. there was so little difference that I thought it was just: Minor-captain-gold captain-chieftan (and then stealth brutes) I didn't even know that brute ultras were a thing

Yes, the devs make they halos so simple and the utility weapon aka BR drives me crazy and makes all other weapons suck which it's a new decade of Halo the "go to" weapon needs to be a thing of the past, which Halo 5 kinda did that

I remember when the game was fairly new I spent so long in high school beating halo 3 solo on legendary over and over, each time with more skulls.
I recall several times getting to a checkpoint near the end of a level and not being able to beat that area even after hours of throwing myself at it. So eventually I would conclude that the only way forward was to redo the whole level in order to start that area with power weapons or a detached turret going into that checkpoint.
I was committed, and loved it the whole time

brute plasma rifles having burst fire makes a lot of sense to me, kinda like how in W40K, the weapons used by Ogryns (big, hulking, brutes, basically), have burst limiters to prevent them from expending their entire magazine too quickly. i imagine Brutes, caught in the heat of the moment, might accidentally fire their entire plasma rifle's charge knowing how they are.
This mod will get a proper rework once Ruby is done with Halo 2 Rebalanced, which will include cut content if Ruby goes the same route that he did with Halo CE Rebalanced and Halo 2 Rebalanced. Halo 3 Mythic Overhaul is available if you can't wait.

Halo 3's campaign is...so good. Like, i dont understand why honestly...its pretty simple...but i think its the game play, the gameplay is so crispy, like,, ugh, i can replay that rats nest level for ever, especially when all the grunts and drones are running away and you can get an instane stick to destroy everything. Halo 3 is a masterpiece. Bungie used to be so insanely good. Their team was consistent of multiple leaders that held their ground and didnt let bad influence push them in a direction that would of caused them to fall. Eventually that happened but omg halo 3

An easy solution to the idea of not being able to tell enemy elites from friendly would be to put like a little hud icon above them. If it clutters to much make them really small, or make it so the reticle always highlights green no matter the distance as long as you can see them.
A couple of cool things that you missed is that AA Wraiths no longer blow up when no ones in them meaning you can freely drive them once the driver has been killed. And Coop Arbiter and Elites now have purple hud unlike master chief which gives me Halo 2 vibes.

I hope 343 takes note of this campaign mod, especially what the mod author did with the Shade Turret. Seriously, we NEVER get to use the Shade in Halo despite it being in every game. _Halo: Infinite_ is the exception, where it was actually beefed up enough to be useable.
The changes to the vehicles seem a bit over-the-top, especially the Prowler. I would take a more minimalist approach by making the turret the same type of gun as the Chopper.
Make halo open world like reach where you can only be covenant and you fight Spartans like they are tough bosses and bring in brutes too we can fight em join em and then fight them back again

I love this mod so much. Ruby's rebalance is what i play when i just wanna play halo with a fresher feel to it. one of my favorite change was to the plasma pistols. Bringing them back to their CE power levels. but the elites being more present is definitely jussssssssssst a bit more favorite

I think adding the halo 2 shot gun speaks volumes to our love of the other games weapon variants. This is a good idea that can be used well in halo games for example, a military installation is bound to have different models or types of weapons from varying times.

before this mod I never realized that there was a dozen brute ranks. there was so little difference that I thought it was just: Minor-captain-gold captain-chieftan (and then stealth brutes) I didn't even know that brute ultras were a thing
The flare is amazing, I posted a clip throwing it down the hallway on the way out of Crow's Nest and killed all the grunts and drones.
