Yeah, for some reason, I once came up with the idea of seeing a further augmented Master Chief (to around Hulk size and strength) dual wielding MA5D assault rifles fighting something like the mega Hunter from Halo Legends: The Duel or a Sharquoi. Also don't ask me why I thought about what Spartans with Hulk powers would be like.
I was told the reason guta got reduced to one encounter in the original campaign was due to the down sizing of the campaign for dev time and game pace constraints. Originally there was gonna be more levels, mainly focused around recon, searches, and covenant counter attacks in homesteads, the reach countryside, and military installations. Makes sense since alot of the halo reach concept art was based around unsc army/militia joint operations with spartans. Also the taming of the guta by jackals were mentioned somewhere but sadly doesnt have visual evidence like the cut areas.
We definitely need a Great Schism/Heretic themed Firefight where you play as an elite and have to fight against the Brutes and such. Added bonus to have Covenant forces fight by your side
A Halo version of a Battlefield style game would be amazing in general. They could barely get BTB working but if by some miracle they ever do get a massive 80+ player mode working it should be this, not a battle royale. But both would be nice of course.

Like almost no safe spot as air fights go insane, ground battles become mosh pits from hell with mixes of melee, range and artillery fire.

The Halo Reach ODST mod's story, at least for me, is in an alternate Halo timeline where Noble Team couldn't aquire another Spartan III, so Holland sent them the best ODST they could find as the replacement. Noble Team were surprised at first, but quickly adapted to the newest member not being a Spartan as it was desperate times for the UNSC.
Now this is dope, finally I get to play as an elite fighting against the UNSC, I've been wanting to do this since the first game. I'm also glad you can dual wield again, I really miss that feature.

Yep, 343 did confirm in their blog regarding Forge that when it's finally ready, the Thorage items (including pilotable Seraphs, Sabres, Civillian vehicles etc) will be usable. Not sure on the LNOS special vehicles and probably not the frigate or MAC Gun but everything else will be added (also I think the dropships will only be available as extra environment pieces but not pilotable).
I saw a mod on the nexus not long ago where someone ported all of the 'New Alexandria' level to forge mode. That would go great with the vehicle addition mod you showcased in this video, that map is much larger and more suited for the faster vehicles. Hopefully someone else will come along and add new building structures, objects, and or other things into forge mode to create a complete experience combined with those other mods. I can't wait to see what people start doing with this game
Some of my most treasured gaming memories happened in modded Halo PC online games. Oh the crazy shenanigans you would see in that little Blood Gulch canyon. Pretty awesome to see this happening in a somewhat official sense again!!

Some of these mods are just really game changing from third person view, I wonder if 343 would make halo battle front where you can paly as cannon fodder and push through UNSC lines and to be honest jump packing ODST would interest me if they're specialist and furthermore depending on the map the hero's would change image earning enough score to select and play as 117.
This is why halo needed a pc release. Reach will live on through mods but if 343 can get steam workshop for the times we get bored and The entire collection could be a sandbox full of amazing things
Owning the Xbox version of any Halo game has become pointless unless Mods become available for console >as a console peasant I can tell you right now, I hate 343 for not allowing mods for MCC on console. I will never be able to afford a gaming computer and will never experience these sorts of mods for myself. :(

If you want to play PvP with the longsword then check out some maps on Custom Edition. It has been there completely usable for well over a decade and apparently was what the pilotable Reach version was based off of.
The Troop Transport isn't only in Noble Actual. It is also in ONI: Sword Base. And you can actually save it from being blown up by the Wraiths and use it.
If I had Reach PC, I'd TOTALLY get the UNSC Firefight mod! I'm a huge Covvie fan so that kind of stuff excites me! Please, please, PLEASE include more Covvie mods in the future if you feel any are worth mentioning! :D
2:05 I believe it's because we've been given a body to safeguard. In 1st person you're only a pair of arms, and legs if you look down. Your whole being is just a pair of hands and a gun. With 3rd person you can see your entire self, and you instinctively don't want to see yourself get hurt.

@@user-lg5xu6id5j Most likely no; one thing I've learned about Halo's modding community (and many others, looking at you Bethesda!) is that a LOT of the folk involved in them will go on into further game development projects, be they mods, fangames or their own independent projects. SPV3 is absolutely done as a team, but I'm certain there are going to be members of it who will band together to work on a mod or two, especially given its easier to work with people you already know the skillset of.
@@ProsecutorValentine Probably because halo 2's vanilla campaign gameplay was a shitshow. It was incredibly unbalanced and forced the player to use a specific boring ass play style which took all the fun away. Halo 1 and 3 are soooooo much better. Just a nostalgia-free criticism of mine.
@@ProsecutorValentine So what? Halo has relied on the same engine since the very first game, albeit heavily updated between iterations. The way data is handled and AI navigate the world is still pretty much the exact same. Take a look at the Assembly tool, it works for *every* game so far (I believe it is the only one for Reach MCC as of now) and it really does not take a genius to copy the AI behaviours from any of the previous games and port it to Reach... I mean they pretty much did that with all the new units in Halo 2 onward and backported them to Halo CE. It is not impossible, and would actually be one of the easier mods to pull off.
@@cyqry Problem really is that we dont have the models and such in the right format etc. This'll probably have to wait till Halo 3 comes out, but I dont see it taking long at that point.
@@evangelionaddict8212 Practically every game out there these days uses .FBX or .OBJ model formats, as they are the standard export formats for Autodesk products, which are industry standard at this point, including for the BLAM engine used for Halo. The tool I mentioned, Assembly, handles importing tags into the game, those tags for models can accept those standard .FBX models as far as I'm aware. People have been importing models from Reach into Combat Evolved's engine since the former came out on Xbox. How? J-Tagged Xboxs allow you to use modding tools on those games. Assembly even has built-in functionality for that kind of thing, as well as model exporting into a standard format that can be used in other games. Trust me when I say this is entirely possible right now.

The pelican was always my favorite vehicle and always made me sad that halo never put the pelican as a playable vehicle but when halo 4 did it, it felt like a dream come true and though it was awesome but it wasn’t the pelican I grew up watching seeing fly
Having a multiplayer 3rd person ODST/marine invasion game mode sounds pretty fun if the covenant side had few elite players that are OP, but the rest are jackals or grunts if possible. Might have to look into modding myself.
Third person? Vs UNSC Firefight?! VS GUPTA FIREFIGHT!?! The only things missing now would be being able to do the weapon mod glitch from Halo 4 with the ability to make assault rifles that fire rockets and stuff and making firefight maps ourselves.
Completely forgot flood and buggers as options for firefight but they're a small price to pay for the others. Plus I'm sure someone else is already working on them anyways.
@@Keokithederp From what I've seen of the modding community for the past few years; pretty much every mod is made with a tool called Assembly. The developers have pretty much continuously updated it since Halo 2 Vista days. With that said; there are more than enough mods for Halo CE that port Halo 2, 3, Reach and 4 assets into the first game... I absolutely guarantee someone has already got Flood into Reach at this point, and from what I've seen its *not* that difficult to change the units in Firefight to be something else. All we have to do is wait; Flood Firefight is inevitable.
"make assault rifles that fire rockets and stuff" This is more than possible and that specific swap can be one in about 3 seconds. My personal favourite is a warthog chaingun firing at 5x speed and each projectile is a scorpion cannon shot.
ODST one should be official co-op challenge with 1 spartan and matchmaking. 343 should really give pve some love in the collection. So far they won't even tune a bit XP for firefight.

I assisted with the ODST mod, later updates will include all Armour ability usage and bug fixes. We will also be including dual wielding and weapon balancing. If you see anything that needs to be fixed leave a message here and me and xay will fix it.
Any chance you guys can try to turn Noble team into basically another bad ass team of ODSTs so we're not just a friendly ODST amongst some Spartans? I feel like that would add on to the feeling aswell.

Yup, it was the CE modding community that made me realise just how big Reach coming to PC would be. We've all played the campaign, we all had our fun in multiplayer both competitively and in custom games... but now we got modding. The possibilities are truly endless. And maybe Firefight will actually be fun now.

In halo custom edition, there was a map called coldsnap and it was a HUGE map, but it also had a longsword and this longsword could drop nukes 10x bigger than that nuke you dropped. I'm not even joking, it was amazing.
I made a firefight mode called We Are ODST and play it on Installation 03, it gives Halo that feeling of being grounded as well as almost a camaraderie between you and the AI’s. You can actually die just as easily as they can in it. You feel... mortal. It’s awesome.
With mods, does this mean I can finally explore the Corvette (my favorite Covvie ship of all time) without needing to play the overly-long Saber fight to do so? 😭 Because I'd LOVE to see what the full ship looks like (even though 90% of it will be created from scratch because Long Night of Solace didn't have the player explore all of it)!!!
I'm really hoping for larger modded maps. Something like the size of some of the Battlefield maps, that can better fit the faster and larger vehicles added in some of the forge mods. Fingers also crossed for a proper covenant campaign!
When you thought things were bad when the enemy team get the banshee in reach then it gets worse when you realize it’s a space banshee that will be diveboming you and your team at high speeds all game.

Halo has relied on the same engine since the very first game, albeit heavily updated between iterations. The way data is handled and AI navigate the world is still pretty much the exact same. Take a look at the Assembly tool, it works for *every* game so far (I believe it is the only one for Reach MCC as of now) and it really does not take a genius to copy the AI behaviours from any of the previous games and port it to Reach... I mean they pretty much did that with all the new units in Halo 2 onward and backported them to Halo CE.
It is not impossible, and would actually be one of the easier mods to pull off.
@@cyqry Problem really is that we dont have the models and such in the right format etc. This'll probably have to wait till Halo 3 comes out, but I dont see it taking long at that point.
@@evangelionaddict8212 Practically every game out there these days uses .FBX or .OBJ model formats, as they are the standard export formats for Autodesk products, which are industry standard at this point, including for the BLAM engine used for Halo.
The tool I mentioned, Assembly, handles importing tags into the game, those tags for models can accept those standard .FBX models as far as I'm aware.
People have been importing models from Reach into Combat Evolved's engine since the former came out on Xbox. How? J-Tagged Xboxs allow you to use modding tools on those games. Assembly even has built-in functionality for that kind of thing, as well as model exporting into a standard format that can be used in other games.
Trust me when I say this is entirely possible right now.

The pelican was always my favorite vehicle and always made me sad that halo never put the pelican as a playable vehicle but when halo 4 did it, it felt like a dream come true and though it was awesome but it wasn’t the pelican I grew up watching seeing fly

The Halo Reach ODST remake, seems very reminiscent of Gears of War games. Makes me like it even more!
When I saw the Waypoint article about all the other Halo games being added, in ONE YEAR, I was like "ALREADY?!?!"
Having a multiplayer 3rd person ODST/marine invasion game mode sounds pretty fun if the covenant side had few elite players that are OP, but the rest are jackals or grunts if possible. Might have to look into modding myself.

The only things missing now would be being able to do the weapon mod glitch from Halo 4 with the ability to make assault rifles that fire rockets and stuff and making firefight maps ourselves.
Completely forgot flood and buggers as options for firefight but they're a small price to pay for the others. Plus I'm sure someone else is already working on them anyways.
@@Keokithederp From what I've seen of the modding community for the past few years; pretty much every mod is made with a tool called Assembly. The developers have pretty much continuously updated it since Halo 2 Vista days. With that said; there are more than enough mods for Halo CE that port Halo 2, 3, Reach and 4 assets into the first game...
I absolutely guarantee someone has already got Flood into Reach at this point, and from what I've seen its *not* that difficult to change the units in Firefight to be something else. All we have to do is wait; Flood Firefight is inevitable.

This is more than possible and that specific swap can be one in about 3 seconds. My personal favourite is a warthog chaingun firing at 5x speed and each projectile is a scorpion cannon shot.

ODST one should be official co-op challenge with 1 spartan and matchmaking. 343 should really give pve some love in the collection. So far they won't even tune a bit XP for firefight.
Rusampler they do for multiplayer firefight but it’s quicker to do social games

Yup, it was the CE modding community that made me realise just how big Reach coming to PC would be. We've all played the campaign, we all had our fun in multiplayer both competitively and in custom games... but now we got modding. The possibilities are truly endless. And maybe Firefight will actually be fun now.

Modders ruined Reach. They didn't make it "lit", they fucking killed it.
In halo custom edition, there was a map called coldsnap and it was a HUGE map, but it also had a longsword and this longsword could drop nukes 10x bigger than that nuke you dropped. I'm not even joking, it was amazing.
I really wish they had added the ability to alter the campaign like with firefight. Imagine a swat campaign or a huge shield but legendary

I made a firefight mode called We Are ODST and play it on Installation 03, it gives Halo that feeling of being grounded as well as almost a camaraderie between you and the AI’s. You can actually die just as easily as they can in it. You feel... mortal. It’s awesome.
With mods, does this mean I can finally explore the Corvette (my favorite Covvie ship of all time) without needing to play the overly-long Saber fight to do so? 😭 Because I'd LOVE to see what the full ship looks like (even though 90% of it will be created from scratch because Long Night of Solace didn't have the player explore all of it)!!!
With these mods, we can bring Machinima back to at least 20 percent of it's former glory.

I'm really hoping for larger modded maps. Something like the size of some of the Battlefield maps, that can better fit the faster and larger vehicles added in some of the forge mods. Fingers also crossed for a proper covenant campaign!

I remember playing modded maps on the demo for the first halo, so much fun.
When you thought things were bad when the enemy team get the banshee in reach then it gets worse when you realize it’s a space banshee that will be diveboming you and your team at high speeds all game.
