- So we got a call from a couple of ladies stuck on the sand dunes in their Jeep Wrangler.
They were out wheeling and slid off the trail and got stuck.
They mentioned that they'd be back and they'll call us again if they needed us.
Sure enough a couple weeks later and we were getting them out of another mess!
We think it's awesome that they're out wheeling and enjoying the sand dunes!

She uses her jeep more than 90% of jeep owners. Gotta learn some how. At least they're having a good time
Agreed. But they should find a buddy to go with or join a jeep club until they get some miles under the belt.
@@l84cabo looking for one we feel safe in and not judged :)
@@jenniferbasalone9012 Rather sad that's a problem. Is it really that sexist in UT?
@@marvindebot3264 na its a normal girl thing we worry about. Could also be my own internal fight with the polarity of independence. I own an old BMW M5 and the club I am in is the greatest band of individuals you will ever meet. But I think I got lucky and it helped I knew 100% how to drive my car and what it can and cant do lol. Im new to this specific area so I just probably need to meet more people. Plus you know, corona.
@@jenniferbasalone9012 The older M5s are the good ones and one of the best drivers cars ever made. The M Series 3.5 litre straight six is one of the best engines ever made and with the right exhaust the sound is utterly glorious. I've had both a M635CSI and an E30 325i coupe in the past.
As for the getting to know what the Jeep can and can't do you look to be doing a reasonable job of learning what it can't do :-) The new tyres will make a huge difference but as I said just be careful on road at first, it will handle entirely differently.

I can almost guarantee it wasn’t nearly the first time Matt has heard that and I CAN guarantee it won’t be the last.
@@colinrogers5419 hahaha.. free of charge.
I love how Ed is always right there doing everything he can to help but we all know that he is just there for his rugged good looks and uplifting personality.
Matt never criticizes anyone for their part in their predicament. Just there to help. Admirable.
He is truly amazing. The entire crew is like that. They spent time talking to us and they spotted us getting all the way out. If you notice, im following Matt out. They were true gentleman.
Can someone tell me why these are just so dang enjoyable?!?! It's just some people pulling people out of the sand... and I can't get enough of it.
Same, I found these a few weeks ago and I've been binging.
I just found them myself. Watch probably 20 videos back to back. They seem like some decent people. Seem like people I would be friends with I lives in tht area
Everybody loves a train wreck
@@devilshaircut9 Explains my taste in women.
Gotta agree Arnell! And they do seem like decent folks. Also, whoever it is that is doing the editing, is doing a great job with angles, drone footage, back ground music, etc...
Credit to the ladies for actually being out there doing some off-roading to get stuck instead of just riding to Costco and back. Getting stuck is part of the game. That’s how you learn like another poster said.
My jeep is no mall crawler for sure. Thats what i use the M5 for lol
Matt has got to pay the bills somehow - we hope more chicks that don't know how to drive like these repeat customers get a chance to come out
When most "learn", they just get stuck in worse places. Even if they have their own recovery gear
I would agree but I mean it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know you cant take what looks like a stock/lightly modded wrangler through deep sand and back country take it on some nice solid dry dirt trails or packed sandstone sure but deep sand or mud or snow and your fucked you at the minimum need what Matt has locking hubs and differentials at least a 3 inch lift and wider taller tires for more traction from there you can just mess with the power to determine how fast and dangerous you wanna ride the trail LOL
That jeep had a winch, make a stop and buy a ground anchor and a couple shovels. Slow but effective.
I love watching Matt set up to hook up his extraction equipment. It’s like watching a pro golfer approach and visualize his shot. He keeps looking at the tow from different angles until he can visualize his shot. Then he lines up and boom! Perfect extraction every time!
Whats more important is, her adventure buddy still adventures with her; even when they keep getting stuck 💛
We are champs
Life is an adventure, got to live it! Though @jennifer basalone says I have sand trauma, haha
@@lzz8852 I think its great! I have that one friend who is always on adventures with ke and we have been stuck numerous times. Snow, sand creek bed (you name it) those are some of the best memories

I gotta give it to those young ladies. They definitely get that Jeep out there which is more than I can say for all those mall crawlers😂👍🏽
Mall crawlers! Nice one!
Lol definitely, and maybe they should invest in a winch or something
@@jckdnls9292 they had a winch in the first video. nothing to winch to though. winches don't solve everything. its always better to be accompanied by another vehicle incase one gets stuck. now if the 2 get stuck...thats another story

sarbarca2 a ground anchor is what they need
Sounds like they learned some stuff on the first call and tried applying it. A few more calls and they'll be done paying tuition. Not bad. Education always has a cost. 😄
School of hard knocks that you can't drop out of. My sister would drive a stick-shift and on hills, hold the car still using the clutch. She learned in five minutes - for only $400 (at the time) not to do that. If you went to a university, they'd charge you $2,000.
ninemilliondollars 🤣 that’s great.. I don’t even like dragging out my take off on the clutch 🤦🏻♂️ but I guess you gotta learn somehow
Some people are just faster/slower learners than others.
Word to the wise. Dump the stock tires. Install a LT tire a few sizes wider than factory and learn how to air them down. The lower the ground contact pressure the better on sand.
I had a 90 4Runner with 315/65-17's on it that was almost unstoppable on east coast beach sand. All of the state parks prior to allowing you on the beach require an equipment check. for a spare tire, tire gauge, two chains or snatch straps, a shovel, high lift jack and a piece or two of carpet. No equipment, no beach dune access.
🤔 The lesson to learn here is turn your car into a yellow banana. Along with some COMMON SENSE and you should be good.👍🏼
@@gungadinn She will, she just seems like the type that has to get there on her own. Respect!
Get rid of those streets tires and get a little more off-road smarts and those girls will never get stuck again. Good on them for using that Jeep properly.
On it!
“These jumping cactus they’ll get you” 😂😂
Everyone can sound off in the UA-cam comments about what they should've done different, but I think it's cool they're actually out enjoying their Jeep.
And they seem to be learning. No kayaks in their second rescue. 🥳
Kyle Metz Excellent Comment!
@@badm0t0rf1ng3r You can hear one of them said they did that during the second rescue
Living and learning
Most of the comments (I'm seeing) seem very supportive of them being out there and adventurous enough to get stuck in the first place.
Hey... at least they are out using the jeep, Instead of staying in a mall parking lot. Thats how you learn.
Looks like those ladies were having fun, that's the most important thing.
They just need something they can hook that winch onto when there aren't any trees around
Agreed....Most Jeeps don't get off the asphalt!
I want thinking land anchor and that winch would get them out of most of their ills.
Chris D one thing to use and learn.....But don’t do that by yourself.....You need another vehicle buddy....Always travel in twos....first rule of off reading.....
Nice to see they are out there trying and learning. Although this way can get expensive. Always enjoy your videos. Thank you.
I really admire their professionalism and the fact that they not once made fun of the ladies for getting stuck twice.
you dont make fun of paying clients!
They got stuck many times, we only saw the times they needed help. Seems like they're out there enjoying the landscape on the regular.
"You'll need a pretty big rig to pull us out we are really stuck"
*Matt shows up in the little banana*
Of course, as Ed said, the road is too rough for the big rigs.
which is a big rig...
Don't doubt the banana.
Matt, I went off roading for my first time this week and got stuck but with the tips I've gotten from your videos I was able to get myself out. Thank you so much
I second that. We're heading west next week, just got my new quick deflaters and portable air compressor. I would never have thought to buy them if not for Matt's Off Road Recovery. I don't intend to get stuck, but I'm more ready than I otherwise would be.
@@FlatFifties Do you have a winch and or traction boards?
@@consaka1 No, just a stock 4Runner SR5, and hopefully enough sense to not go too far.
@@FlatFifties still, if I was you, I'd get one or the other. Lacking that try to throw some scrap pieces of 2x6 or so in the back with a good Jack. You can do quite a bit with 8-9 or more pieces of scrap wood if you get stuck. If all else fails use the wood for a base for the jack and Jack the car up and build a ramp with the rest of the wood. I still carry a little wood even though I also carry traction boards.
@@FlatFifties you can make cheap traction boards that fold. Buy some plastic milk crates and cut them so you have 5 equal squares (4 sides and bottom) then simply zip tie them in a row. They will work once or twice.
Awesome work! out there having fun. 90% of jeeps never see the dirt!
The turning the light off as a cut out to the video. Perfect. 10/10 would watch every video to that point
You know, these lady's are out having fun. They have a very capable rig. With the toys. If they take some classes or learn how to use the winch and land anchors they would be just fine.
I think the fact they are out exploring and having fun, is awesome.
Yes...i don't quite understand why they didn't bury their spare tire and winch out. I guess that's just not common sense to some/most people. Have to assume they had a shovel on board.
LOL. MY exact thoughts as well. Good for them!
Equip the rig with the proper tires for the terrain and it would be a far more capable rig.
wider tires aired down would have changed the vehicles entire dynamics .. probably wouldn't have needed Matt at that point though, and we wouldn't have this fun video to watch..
@@ejchalabala7704 Any idea how much effort it takes to bury a spare tire deep enough to do any good? Winder is a MUCH better option. Probably take less time too.

Love the about-face Lady does, half-way up the rock!

If you've never been stuck, you haven't been anywhere.
True that. I've had to walk miles for cell service so many times lol. I've called friends to come get us and ive been called. I love it.

Very true. I wish my friends would learn how to not get stuck though. I've had to pull my friends out at least 20 times in the past year with my 09 jkur (gotta love the e-lockers). The only times I've gotten stuck so far was from bottoming out on my diffs while crossing water holes. Fortunately, my winch was able to get me out. Nice work! I gotta say I feared the comments and I’m happy my fears were unfounded and they are all very encouraging and realizing that these folks are doing more off-road driving than the vast vast majority and using their vehicle as intended, and trying to get better at doing it applying the things they learned from Matt. I’m guessing a tire upgrade is in the future if they come back. And it’s true that experience in rock crawling does not translate to sand (or mud), it’s a totally different ball game.
I go every chance I can. I'm local. New tires are definitely on order.

@Specops Tow It was broken but cool bro. Not that I had anything to anchor to
@@jenniferbasalone9012 If you guys just drive a Wrangler to rip around Sand Hollow where help is easily accessible that's cool. If you have ambitions of exploring other locations out West it would really be beneficial to take a step back and start mastering the basics (I don't mean this in a condescending way at all). This would open up practically endless opprotunities for offroading. Everyone started somewhere and you've started with a capable enough vehicle that it's easy to suddenly find yourself in way over your head. I just suggest getting your tires and then mastering your rig AS IS before dipping into your wallet for more mechanical aides. You will end up a much better offroader in the long run and using critical thinking skills rather than simply relying technology generates a lot more satisfaction.
JMHO.
@@hippiebits2071 I 100% agree. I replace stuff as it breaks or as it limits me. Sand Hollow has some very technical 7+ rated rock crawling trails that we just cant do right now. Not that I dont try lol but I know why I need to do some things and what I need the jeep to be better att. Right now I spend all my time getting familiar with the limitations of the vehicle. We do lots of trails in the sierras (Im from that area) and trails here but Sand Hollow offers me the most challenges. All the other trips we have planned will be trail guided. We also work with Dixie 4x4 here in st. georege/moab who are amazing. They do lots of trail runs and courses. I work with them by telling them what I did, what happened, how I got limted and they offer advice on whether its driving or equipment. At this point, I feel ready to take advantage and feel limited by not having larger tires (they are off road tires just 30s) and lockers. So I am putting on Air Lockers and bigger tires this month. Ive broken the rear plastic drive line so I replaced that witt a steel one and replacing the cvs with ball joints for smoother turns in 4H/L. I am also finally replacing my back bumper as its been nearly torn off and has some major dents now. I want to understand every part, why I need it replaced, why Im limited by the stock version. So the new Axels Dann44 with air lockers will really help now and I can do more challenging stuff. Its been super fun. Being stuck and breaking crap has been a right of passage for me. So sure, I got stuck, sure I didnt realize I could go to 15PSI not just reduce by 15PSI, but hey.. I know now how the jeep feels after the lessons learned. I run circles around those razrs out here now lol
