Kenneth Decker here in Utah too probably not nearly as hot as there but more days over 100 degrees than I’ve ever seen and I’m in northern Utah which isn’t nearly as hot as southern Utah. The few days I’ve spent at sand hollow in southern Utah where Matt’s at it was at least 110 and one day 117. I’m definitely looking forward to a nice snow storm and some nice cold temps hopefully like -15 degrees for some good ice fishing.
Matt - install a separate windshield washer reservoir under the hood of the jeep, and place the nozzles in front of the radiator. It will help to cool it down! They do this with mud trucks around my area.
Seeing him work makes you sure he knoes what he's doing, but you made a good point there! Seen him using a bottle to get water onto the radiator does make me wonder if there isnt a better solution? Heck, even a bottle with a spray nozzle would make more sense.
I have a 98 xj 4.0. about the same setup as matts. Axles 35s and lockers. All i have is a zj clutch on my fan and a cowl induction type hood. never gets over 205 on my temp gauge. Even down here in hot humid florida in the summer when crawling around thru swamps for hours. I know he has hood vents but if he got more air flow under that hood it would make a huge difference. My hood made a huge impact on temps all around.
I like how Matt showed her not to always wait for instructions. (Stood there looking at the rope that wasn't connected to the hitch.) If you are paying attention, you can anticipate the next steps without being told. This makes you a team member, instead of a grunt employee, and takes a lot of load off of the boss. Some day soon Lizzy will be running her own recovery rig for Matt!

Lizzy seems like a good addition to the recovery crew but you might want to tell her not to wrap her thumbs around the steering wheels. Seen a few broken thumbs from that over the years.
I jammed my thumb on a lawn mower; hit a dang stump while turning from the exact same thing....thumbs do not go inside the wheel ever anymore lol.... yes i know i should have been watching way ahead but i was looking behind....lesson learned
I actually broke my hand and dislocated 3 fingers because I had my thumbs inside of the steering wheel on a side by side and hit a small rock. So Thumbs Out....
Matt, One of the things we did working in the desert was to attach misters in front of the radiator. Install a tank and a washer motor with a switch in the cab. Such a good leader, always taking ownership like saying his bad for not giving good directions. Always super humble saying he couldn’t do it without his team. Wish more bosses and business owners were as good of a guy as Matt. I think that’s the major reason I love this channel, stand up people. Well done all
I’ve got a 2021 TRD Pro on order. I’m headed your way buddy. Can’t wait to get in an incredibly difficult spot and see what you can do. Jk - I hope we don’t meet but I know who to call!!!
Lizzy has a great attitude I hopes she appreciated the opportunities you have offered her at learning to work with all kinds of people, plus she is learning life skills that will stay with her the rest of her life
Great video! You've got a rising star on your hands. Good work Lizzy :))
You guys are legit my new favorite YT channel. Spent 3 hours yesterday going down this rabbit hole. I promise to never take my 2WD CR-V anywhere near these offroad areas. But the one time I went through Zion was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had the pleasure to see, so I understand the appeal. Bless you for doing this work and being there for us noobs who are under the delusion that our street rigs can handle serious offroad situations.
NOOO!! What happened with the truck at the end?! Hopefully there will be a part 2 😜
I love how your XJ looks like it’s on stock axles with the narrow 1 tons especially when you see the full floating hubs, such a great rig!
Love this channel...love watching the sport pull all these vehicles out...never under estimate the banana 🍌
Watching these old videos, it's amazing to see how mu h Lizzy has learned; you're an outstanding teacher Matt
What’s lizzys back story how did she end up as Matt’s helper?
Did I miss the introduction of Liz?
in general on a UA-cam channel have to have the ladies involved too in order to get more video views
lrobie123 don’t disagree , just want to know the back story how did she end up on Matt’s channel?
hold on I just came from that video I'll link it she's got my respect
@@boxedfender4810 link?
@@H.Vishnu i couldn't find it even though I had just went there all these episodes sorta blend sorry pal
Great example of team work. And like no judgement of people getting stuck. Nice work. Enjoy your videos.
“Can I pay you to keep me off UA-cam?” 🤣🤣
What a good man Matt is. Fixing a vehicle for a customer instead of having them pay a 3000 dollar tow bill. What a good guy.
Lizzy seems like a good addition to the recovery crew but you might want to tell her not to wrap her thumbs around the steering wheels. Seen a few broken thumbs from that over the years.
Off road driving in general but especially being towed. Good call
Nice catch.
@@infowarrior313 ??? lawn mower? wheel ? lawnmowers have two bars
Matt, One of the things we did working in the desert was to attach misters in front of the radiator. Install a tank and a washer motor with a switch in the cab. When the temperature gets to high just turn the switch on. Works amazing. Be sure to use so soft or distilled water to avoid buildup on the radiator.
Having Rudy along for help and to shuttle the camera people is making for great new camera angles and action shots!
GOOD LIZZIE!! 😊👍🏻
Amazing channel ,thank you for that 🙏
The smile on Lizzy face is great pr.
Does anyone else love how there is no clickbait titles or thumbnails
Lizzie you have a great teacher. Soak it all in and you will do great! Thanks Matt and crew for another enjoyable video!
Teaching Lizzy “the ropes”, I see what you did there! 😂😂😂
Well .... "attempting" to teach her .......... lol
I like that others want to learn and are willing to learn such as lizzy. So great.
