I knew the Hummer would make it up the sand hill! Thanks for having us guys, it was a blast!
It’s always awesome seeing you! Glad you came!
@@FabRats You guys gonna actually visit the shop this month for any projects we care about or has it become just derby garage and tractor racing now, interspersed between your many many vacations/staycations/daycations.

HMMWV transfer case is separate from the transmission. Fluids are not supposed to intermix. There is a cooler loop inside of the transfer case that is fed transmission fluid to help keep it cool.
I came here to state this. Spent 17 years in and retired out.
yes and then the tcase chain gets sloppy and you end up with the vampire.
As a recipient of 3 spinal surgeries from the need to "be tough" in my youth, it's always wise to listen to your elders, Landon. Protect your back! Rebuilding it never makes you better than stock.
I was that same kid, lol. No surgeries yet but no feeling in my feet and plenty of nerve pains
And we all think oh that will never happen to me because I'm good but you're right it does happen and before you even know it too!
Every little or I should say every injury no matter how minor or major it might be when young or old adds up overtime ! I know from experience now that I'm 69 !
Not to beat this horse, but listen to these guys Landon. I’m 47 with three wrecked disks in my lower back along with nerve pain in my leg that won’t let me sleep a lot of nights. Take care of your back now, because there’s nothing that can be done to make it better. And watch out on your knees also… that’s another challenge. You can’t hunt elk if you can’t walk, ‘nuf said.
just had my 3rd at 36 years old
We went to visit FabRats last december and the Barracks trail is one they advised us to hit and it was amazing....Thanks Paul
I agree with everyone who's telling you take care of yourself now. I worked in sawmill when I was 13 offbearing 8" cross ties and when I was 18 I started as a laborer in stone mills . By time I hit 40 I was done my back couldn't handle it anymore!!
Lando is such a strong kid! He pick up that tire like nothing, just like his Dad.god bless the fab rats.
Thats a young back 😉
Shaun is absolutely right, though, if he's not careful he's going to absolutely screw his back up by trying that. He's got that young man durability at the moment, but that will pass soon enough.
Isn't he also the one that had surgery on his leg ?

LOCTITE GASKET MAKER 515-FLANGE SEALANT- very good stuff
so you are telling me its not beaver dung?
That Hummer continuing up that hill from a stop was crazy. Maybe because there is no pumpkin digging into the sand and it also being heavy enough to get the widest patch possible when aired down
it can just crawl it? I don't understand. Lol
It must be lighter that it looks
@@lamarzimmermanmennonitefar5269 is anything with a diesel light? Lol
Grandpa Sherm's old tow truck is a runner! He's proud of how you built it, I'm sure!
I think Grampa Sherm looks down and smiles at his old truck and what you transformed it into. Gotta say that Hummer sure surprised me climbing that hill. Those fellas sure were energetic. Sure miss those days. Great video.
Words to Landon don’t mess your back up. You will notice it when you’re older. I’m 40 and already have back problems
I'm 40 and have had 2 spine surgeries definitely take care of yourself. You could always get a auto immune condition. It might not even be your fault. 😅
Might want see a chiropractor, I have lifted close to a million boxes, cider blocks, car batteries in my lifetime... And even had a car fall on my back when I was 18...It really helps..👍
Lift with your "legs", not your back.
I second this......
Lmao. I started roofing at 13 . Carrying bundles of shingles that weighed as much or more than me. .
If you stop using it youll loose it
Out of all the vehicles I drove when I was in the Army, the HMMWV was my favorite vehicle to drive. The other one was the PLS by Oshkosh
This is a great video! There seems to be nothing mechanically you can't figure out a fix! It doesn't hurt to have Chad on the customer service line!!!
That transcooler is going to take a beating behind that front tire!!
My old Bronco always had rock chips around the entire wheel well.
This is the UA-cam cross over we all needed 🎉
you could not of said it any better
That Hummer is a real sand crawler.
Too much to comment on, just awesome, thank you. I found you guys from GrindHard and you've quickly become my favourite channel.....by a lot!
My two favorite shows working together I made my day
I miss driving those things. Slow climber but it will climb it all. Obviously the width and height doesn’t help it much but I never got one stuck. Carried me around Iraq safely in 04.
I still think that we need an episode of Fab Rats x Grindhard building Graydon a mini rock crawler kinda like their power wheels, only probably lower powered for now. Maybe a HF Predator engine or something.
Graydon would be the happiest kid in Utah... though he just might have that title already.
-- That HWMVEE hill climb IS the ARMY.
the sound of the tow truck climbing that hill was freakin awesome.
Thank you Paul and crew for sharing the collaboration with me !
ohhh man that sand hill with no run was AWESOME! way to go paul sick!
The red candy is RTV. When it gets hot and mixes with transfer case fluid it becomes hard. The only reason I know is because I’ve worked on these and the operators beat these things like a cabin screen door. So when changing the trans or transfer case they will cake RTV in there for whatever reason.
Thanks for solving the candy mistery sir !
@@davestevens4263 I ain’t no Sir ( as they say in the military) cuz I work for a living lmao. Well kinda cuz I’m retired now and work on my own junk lol

Super video. Shop talk over my head but it made sense after the rigs went to the trail. "Sand crawling" and slowest hill climb ever was hilarious. Great editing and music bed was awesome. Good, no, excellent work guys. You cook!
Compliments to the editor - EPIC DEMIC · Daniel Fridell · Sven Lindvall ...............cool track
Best combo of UA-cam channels ever
Woah, Grind Hard, Dirt Garage, and Post Malone all in the FabRats shop!
Super awesome collaboration
Hummers are cool, the FJ is super cool, but that tow truck is the freaking coolest
I have to agree with Ethan - this Hummer looks enTIREly better! 😁🤘
and you guys rock. I love your work Paul and Co.(Fabrats)
So dirt garage is filming for grind hard plumbing and they’re working at fats that’s pretty cool. That is the guy from dirt garage, correct
That is Clinton from Dirt Garage.
Hummers built Army tuff, even tuffer when UA-camrs get ahold of them! Landon, take care of your back. It will thank you later in life! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
This episode was awesome I love seeing two of my favorite channels working together with awesome chemistry...
I love it Sean and Landon mounting the tires for the HUMVEE. Fab Rats learned some things working with this vehicle. The Rat rod has no problem taking on that sand hill it just eats it up! Hunter and Paul were laughing when they made it to the top! Grandma Lolly and the fur baby made a guest appearance.
These collaborations are so enjoyable!
The colab i have always dreamed of
No you didn't.
607k subscribers WTH? You had 67k when I started watching… where’s my cut? I must’ve told a million people! Haha! Happy for you guys! Love the channel!
That Hummer on the Max sand hill reminded me of the Little Engine climbing the long steep grade who kept saying "I think I can, I think I can!"
Is this a piece of candy ? Goes to taste it. It’s kinda sweet ! I was dying laughing. It’s a red anaerobic sealant we use to seal the tcase and transmission together. Good stuff. However anymore we just use gasket maker because the anaerobic sealant is too expensive for the government to purchase 😂. Love watching y’all do this. I have changed so many hmmwv transmissions (especially the 4l80’s) and t cases.
Good morning this was a fun video I didn't think that Humvee would have made it up the sand hill I was definitely impressed
Great word from Travis W Redfish, “Anything will work if you let it”. Meat Loaf played Travis W Redfish in the movie, called “ROADIE” back in the day.
Hope they don't get away with closing the trail. What they do here in Washington is you drive the trails all year and when you come back the next year the trails have gates and ditches. They sneak it in when no one is watching and of course the media helps by ignoring the story. Its amazing how much planning and (our) money goes into sneaking in these closures, whereas you never see them spend any of our money on improvements. Join the Blue ribbon coalition!!
Keep up with the good work love watching you on UA-cam God bless
B-L-M Burial of land mismanagement, in most cases... This was a cool video of your two crews working together.
Our evil corrupt ass gov. Is useless! Unless you want death & destruction & being restricted from everything. Blue lasers used on we the people in Hawaiia !!! Sickening
Its management not mismanagement
@@michaelmain1990no, it’s mismanagement as it was intended…
I was thinking Black Lives Matters and was like.... Huh??? Why would they want to close the trail down. Hahahah
@@CMichaelLyleLOL... I thought the exact same thing.
So, not sure why they put the t-case cooler in the fender well…..? Pretty sure it is going to be full of sand/mud pretty soon…
Good luck
Nothing better seeing gear heads working together! Welp back to work and grandma lollipop is a fire cracker!!
At 09:05 that blue shop towel looks very much like my bath towel. Nothing but the best for guests, I guess.
That red substance is an anerobic gasket maker. Its used as a gasket between 2 machined surfaces rather than a paper gasket.
Wow that thing is pretty cool, I never liked them. Curious to see what Grind Hard is gonna do with it though. Thanks for the video guy's.
Another scenic video. I think you live in the best part of the country so much history
Awesome!! 2 of my favorite yourube channels working together ✊️❤️
GHPC and Fab rats, best collab ever ! Love this content ! Hi from France 👋🏻
Awesome video, great teamwork. Getting them on the road again! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
😂 I liked the safety sandals as they were lifting out the transfer case!
GHPC and this hummer project bought me here and became a subscriber
Great to see youtubers getting together, I watch Ethans channel too, That was a brilliant video, Thank you all for a good time, cannot wait to see what you get up to next
Great video, glad you were able to get the Hummer running again ! 👍
Good morning Utah from sunny Florida❤🦎🎇
Thanks for the video guys
What a fun video, love the collaboration.
That hill climb was amazing. I want to see more collaboration between you guys.
My cheeks hurt from grinning while watching this.
I love the Barracks Trail ! We all need to step up so it doesn't get closed.
Maybe they have a good goddam reason considering water is involved.
@UberLummox So just because there's water, they should close the trail, no, that's not a good damn reason at all. What the hell is wrong with people.
@@UberLummox Just because there's water, is not a good reason to close trails down that makes no sense at all.
What the heel is wrong with people.
Trails get closed for a couple of seasons so the land can recover. Let your community Establish a Good Neighbor Authority agreement with BLM and form a trail monitoring group to keep people from doing vandalism and making new off-road trails.
@@jasonstrout4502 You can't be serious. Water....in the desert for fux sakes. And with all the droughts they've been having. Think for two seconds.

Love to hear the tow truck motor sing. Y’all have that one really dialed in.
You should colab with Grind Hard more often. Very entertaining.
Never figured that Humvee would make it up the sand hill. but it slowly made its way up.
Thanks for making
AWESOME!
31:10 sounded like a demon coming through there man😂😂😂
Looks like a lot of fun working with the fab rat team🤘👍
you all seem to be havin some fun together
Need to wire the key switch or a momentary switch to that jumper wire!
Awesome collaboration between the two channels!!
That tires is going to decimate that t case cooler with rocks and sand.
I had a friend in the 7th & 8th Grades in school (we didn’t have Middle Schools in the middle 1960s) & he rode a Unicycle to & from school regularly. He was very good at it too.
Fab Rats needs to either hire a transmission tech or send Landon to school to build transmissions. Seems to be Fab Rats cryptonite.
Oh wow, I was totally figuring you were going to winch that thing up that sand hill. 😂😂😂
Nice job guys👍💯 those are constant problems 😁
That transfer case cooler behind the tire will clog with mud and what ever else the tire throws. Also the tire will pick up a stone and destroy the cooler. Either case it will in turn destroy your t/case.
I've often wondered if the slow creepy crawly technique that was letting the HUMMER make progress on that steep bottomless sand hill would allow a vehicle to make forward, albeit very slow, progress. I'd have also been interested to see if the FJ might have done something similar in its lowest gearing configuration just idling along, but I don't know/recall what kind of gear ratios the FJ has for transmission, low range transfer case, and final drive. Maybe an experiment for the net time the FJ is on that obstacle. But I'm also pretty sure Paul's preferred MO in that situation is "maximum onion and let that V8 roar!" 🤠
Some new trucks have a stuck mode. It very slowly creeps out of stuck situations
The rat back looks awesome sitting in the background
Fun stuff. That’s cool “can’t see him means the warranty ran out”😂.
13:08 Looks like his head game is strong😂
26:00-27:29 amazing edit compilation!! Like an Andy Wilman edit! Bravo to your editor and camera operator for the great B-roll!
Awesome editing! That was so fun I had to watch it twice!
Great collaboration
People dog on the HMMWV'S, but they really are a pretty incredible design! The engine, Transmission, and T-case are at all the greatest! An LS engine swap, and upgraed drivetrain would make it incredible! I was a 3521 in the Marines, and know them front to back!
I bet the toe in on the hummer helped going up the hill....
Awesome collaboration of Genius minds!!!
what a crew! reminds me of some good times.
Nice job good luck getting home guys
Nice video!! That Hummer is pretty cool. Oil from here goes to there and then over to that and then it just disappears. LOL!! I would never figure it out. But thanks to you guys being a lot smarter than me an the interweb... looks like you got it handled!! I absolutely can not believe that Hummer kept creeping up the hill in all that soft sand!!???????
It is a sealant hardens under compression, otherwise stays soft.
